Comparing Harry and Taylor feels dumb, but he is the only other artist where I know the music inside out, so I will. Harry may have simple lyrics, but there is never a second where the listener is left bored. Harry paints with notes, melodies, and vocal layers, and it's because he isn't afraid to sacrifice his credit for something that is great, whereas Taylor feels like she needs to be the only person writing the song even when it's not good. It feels like Taylor would rather have a bad song with solo writing credit than a great song with 4-5 songwriters.
I don't think Harry is close to the kind of generational songwriting talent that T is at her peak but as the leading male pop artist at the moment I can at least appreciate his ability to carve out an album with artistic intent. Each song is its own story. And work with people he knows are better than him.

I’m working with high school students and I’m seeing a lot of the same problems regarding my kids and how covid effected them. So many of my coworkers are getting annoyed that they still “act like middle schoolers” (especially my 9th and 10th graders) and like…yea. Because that was the last time they were All in a real school together. And it’s especially hard to get them to grade level rn 😭

I’ve even heard this kind of thing from college professors abt students being immature! Obviously it’s different because we’re adults but I was a senior in high school when the pandemic hit and I’m about to turn 21 now and I still feel like I’m 18 on some level because I never got closure to high school/a transition to college I just like…..randomly became an adult. I just randomly moved out of my parents’ house and now I have my own apartment with my fiancée and I only see my parents for holidays. Like what even happened
