in addition to just being a smashing good time, knives out: glass onion gave me the christmas gift of my dreams, aka imagining third movie scenarios where benoit blanc and his love hugh grant aka philip are on holiday together in some exotic locale and then BAM! UNEXPECTED MURDER CASE!: hubby tags along edition
simply thinking upon it will sustain my spirit forever
this whole rashidmand/louis dynamic is really shedding so much new light on so many interactions but the one I keep coming back to is when he says to daniel “well, the interior designer hired was a sentimentalist. some notion of hers, he was missing the natural world.” it’s the fact that he says it like it’s some frivolous/almost silly idea that louis could be missing the outside/plant life. he doesn’t say “daylight” or anything like that, he specifically mentions louis missing the natural world like….why would he miss it so much….unless you’re keeping his schedule and whereabouts under lock and key and bringing all the food to him so he never has to leave his penthouse-shaped coffin……I’m sick
Thinking about step 9 and the whole concept of forgiveness of one’s self and others and it bringing healing and how bobby and Eddie have been paralleled a fair amount and the idea that Eddie started this process back at the end of s5 with his forgiveness and acceptance of his father but how he hasn’t yet gone anywhere near his mother and their relationship .
How his catholic guilt storyline seems more likely to play on his reltionship with his mother than his father (if his father wasn’t around that much it would’ve been Helena taking him to church etc each week) so the idea of an Eddie - Helena storyline that plays on catholic guilt and potentially his queerness in relation to that has me chewing on glass - it could be so epically good
That "of all the people to cheat you picked John Kramer" scene was so much more epic than I thought it would be dear god 🫶🫶🫶 my heart was palpitating doing saltos going crazy
I thought it would be some briefly mentioned line in a random dialogue BOY WAS I WRONG HE REALLY DID THAT HE DID THAT SASSY B*TCH I LOVE HIM
i mean in a different interview that came out tonight ryan literally said he’d be down to explore buddie so i think tim mightve just figured a bi buck arc first would make sense tbh
my assumption is that tim had an idea for buck for s7 either with natalia or with lucy, since tim mentioned he wanted to bring her back, but when neither actress could fit it into their schedules he was suddenly left in a lurch and chose to flip the storylines since the actress who plays marisol (unfortunately) was open and willing to return.
honestly, i try to temper my expectations regarding any ship, but to ME this seems like a very good sign bc it implies that tim and the writers have discussed BOTH buck and eddie being queer. kind of feels like they think it's interchangeable which could, maybe, be a sign that they're both headed in that direction.
ryan has also played a queer character before and the rumors about him being homophobic or having issues with buddie have always seemed pretty empty to me.
I just found out Fyodor's cello piece from the 3rd season is called "Bird of death" and I find that interesting for a few reasons.
First of all, is it connected to Nikolai? They work together and -shipping aside - if they're actually friends, it would make sense for Fyodor to write a piece either for him or simply inspired by him. Not only are birds associated with Nikolai, but death as well since he was supposed to die by being cut in half. He also kills people, so if we combine all those things, they kind of make him a symbolic bird of death.
Secondly, it would make the cello scene have a slightly different atmosphere as Fyodor would be playing a piece he associates with his friend who's going to die after commiting a series of murders while a different murder is taking place. Also the situation would be even weirder for Katsura because it would mean he was kidnapped by a guy who didn't just play cello for him, but play a piece he associates with his friend. Of course Katsura would have no way of knowing, but still.
Thirdly, does that make Fyodor a bird of death? Because if it's not connected with Nikolai whatsoever, then it's most likely connected with Fyodor himself. It would make sense because he kills people as well, but would also accidentally make both Fyodor and Nikolai be associated with both birds and death (#matchingimagery).
Lastly, how much does studio Bones know?? I checked the dates of manga volume releases and Sunday tragedy chapters did come out back in 2017, so the team working on the anime would have enough time to integrate this title as an easter egg if they wanted to do that (as the 3rd season began in April 2019), but then again it seems like a random idea to allude to a character from a future arc that they weren't animating at the time. Either a member of the team was/is a fan of bsd or they're getting extra info on future events. Bones also seems to be making surprising decisions when adapting the material (such as putting Fyodor in Untold Origins), so I think it's possible they know something we don't.
But it's also possible that Bird of Death has a different meaning that I'm not aware of or it's all just a coincidence haha
Imagining Tomura reaching for Izuku's hand, looking at all the black whip marks on his skin, then pressing on his palm and Izuku's claws coming out from his fingers to curl up
im manifesting colin knocking on the managers office door, all four of them in there, colin all vulnerable like, "trent, could I have a word?" everyone looking to trent quizzically between trent and colin as trent "yes of course" exits w colin
maybe a look between ted and beard and beard shrugs
ooo yeah i would love that, especially because it would be a more direct parallel to colin’s conversation with nate last season. if they’re gonna making it a straight up 100% serious moment i could absolutely see this happening
Nah I feel like some of y’all are getting this so wrong. I don’t think it’s correct to say that “earth 42 miles was supposed to be spider man” and “our miles is supposed to be prowler” it’s literally they could’ve been either or none at all. The fact that they “swapped places” shows that. We can’t all for sure say that if our miles wasn’t bitten he would’ve been prowler. It’s possible, but we have no way of knowing. But that’s also like the whole point right? Miles is fighting against the idea of a canon event and a predestined path, which aligns with the idea of the potential to be either prowler or spider man or neither. If the first movie was “anyone can wear the mask” then this movie is “what happens when people don’t believe you should” and saying that there’s a strict order everyone and everything has to follow. We got to allow some flexibility, unpredictability, and wiggle room here. It’s all about the butterfly effect people. Anything can happen.
RTD explaining how the bigeneration could apply to all of the Doctors. It’s a fascinating if somewhat daunting idea, but it does at least explain the ongoing issue of bringing old doctors back and having to suspend your disbelief as to why they look so much older.
The implications are endless, but what I want to know is does it also apply to Ten? Are there now 2 extra Davids on Earth plus and extra human one on parallel Earth? How many Davids are too many Davids? 😂
I am forever ruined by the third ending option of silver tricking flint into the plantation with the promise of thomas there but he wasn't actually there and he just wanted flint to be sent to the plantation alone. absolutely evil third ending. I wish I never knew that and I think everyone should suffer with me knowing this could be an option
