It happens #ANYWAY the reason why he's an Ancient is just because there seem to be a lot of parallels between Angels in UTKL and Ancients in RW #Both are societies obsessed with remaining free from earthly desire and keeping order; one wishes to ascend and one has already ascended- #-and has to keep it that way lest they feel the wrath of a long-absent god #Looking at the karma murals that represented the deadly sins (ish) kind of solidified that #Plus it means I don't have to take off his helmet which is always a bonus; I don't like unmasking helmeted characters #As a bonus ancients sort of seem birdlike to me? I made a mistake with the dates on the prev two posts, I went to Beilin Museum on the 11th, not the 10th......I think it's because my phone was still stuck in NA time, which would explain why my phone thought those pictures were taken on the 10th.

Anyway, a random doorway in an alley in Xi'an that looks very traditional:

Traditional embroidery painting sold on the street. There were artisans, painters, calligraphers, and seal-crafters selling commissions in stalls. I couldn't think of a cool phrase for a commission, so I didn't spend any money there. This was one of my biggest regrets from this trip lol

#im glad i went today to hang out with my friend c: #it was nice to just hang out with another person and talk and stuff #i also just like how considerate she is #and she's accepting and chill. i can like tell her that oh im sorry if im low energy now im just overheated bc of the weather and im feeling #sad. and she'll be like dont worry thats ok! and it also is ok she doesnt get annoyed or anything #plus she doesnt look at me weird when there's awkward pauses and i cant express myself properly lol #i overanalyze too much i know :c but anyway it is always nice talking w her so it was nice today #we walked to a sushi place and then to the library #i only stayed for like 30min at the library even if i wanted to stay longer #i realized that it's bc like she had sushi which gives her energy #but i cant afford to buy things out lol so i never eat and refresh my energy #so after 3hrs i got so low energy and just wanted to go home #i should try to find smth easy and cheap i can bring to snack on so i can stay longer!! T-T ugh.. next time!! #we also met a dog! :o she was just standing alone outside a house and stared at the gate #and we came by she walked up to us and looked at me and was like 'get me inside :)' #so my friend went around the house and the owner came and was like omgggg she ran away again!!! #im glad it was so easy to help the dog bc i could not have left her alone by a street w cars and stuff #but she was so sweet and cute and let me pet her 💗 #hmm yeah! then i walked home in the heat that killed me... and now im sitting in front of the fan ^-^ #im not cut out for summer!!! anywaysss it was just a nice time #i wish i could've stayed longer. i'll make sure to bring a cheap snack next time so i can hang out more

As much as I enjoy Neo, I think she was the wrong villain to drop into Wonderland with the squad. Her conflict with Ruby doesn't thematically lend itself to the current arc of self-doubt and weight of responsibility (plus any resolution of Neo's revenge arc will probably end up with her dead since the writers have no idea what to do with her)

Even if Neo calmed down long enough to somehow communicate her grievance of losing Roman, nothing would really come of it. He was an enemy who died in front of Ruby, not because of her. His death is a footnote at best considering two of her friends died in front of her within like, an hour. So, if Ruby tells the truth of Roman's demise, then there's only two outcomes. Neo either thinks she's lying (which would be dumb. There's literally nothing to gain from it) and keeps attacking her until one of them is dead/left behind in Wonderland or Neo believes her and...???

(Seriously where can Neo go after this conflict is resolved? She doesn't care about Salem's cause, there's no one who cares about her, and she probably can't return to her previous life of crime since she was based in Vale. Neo's entire existence revolves around Roman; take that away and you have even less than a ghost)

You know who would be able to excel in a chaotic world and take advantage of Ruby's mental instability? Tyrian

This guy is able to bypass the barriers that keep someone safe, both literally with his ignore-aura seblance and metaphorically. When the writers aren't playing up the "woohoo wacky crazy psycho" schtick, which gets real old real fast, Tyrian is one of the most adept psych-analysts in the entire show. This guy read Mercury and Emerald like the morning newspaper even though they kept their distance from everyone but Cinder

In her current state, Tyrian could pick Ruby apart petal by petal until not even a bud remains. Or better yet, try getting her to align with Salem

"It's so sad, isn't it? You put in all that work, did all that planning, and Atlas still fell. The relic lost. Your friend died.

"I know you did your best. But it wasn't good enough. You weren't good enough.

THEY’RE TERRIBLE I HATE THEM I’m allergic to them and they’re all OVER where I live I can’t escape them 😭

There’s even one in my yard (though technically only half of one now since part of it blew over last week). I don’t know if that one is a true Bradford pear, but it’s something similar for sure since it has the weak limbs and the nasty-smelling flowers. It also has murder thorns too that make it very hard to move dead limbs so basically it’s just a terrible tree all around.

enjoyed my first painting session in a while and used it to finally work on kritza! one of my favourite models and character concepts like, ever. i adore you, nasty vampire rat man.

sticking pretty standard with my soulblight colours- whites, greys, some nice royal looking burgundys. I thought about giving him red eyes, but I actually like the black a little better. lemme tell ya my decision to do all of these fully assembled came back to bite me when I had to get into the coat behind his legs, lol... huge pain in the ass. but with a little brush gymnastics I got there in the end

also I got to use my nice red moss! I was excited about this, and I think it looks very cool. the intention was moss but it also kinda looks like fallen autumn leaves, which fits the intended tone too.
