Thimble Theater by E.C. Segar: "Perfectly Safe"
[ID: Castor Oyl stands beside a seated Harold Hamgravy outside, casually smoking a cigarette in a long ivory holder. /end]
Castor: I promised my sweety that I'd quit gambling and stay in nights, but I have no will power.
[ID: They walk off happily together. /end]
Castor: So I want you to come up to my room and lock the door on the outside. Then I'll have to stay in.
[ID: Castor stands inside his room, by the door, still happily smoking. The lock clicks shut. /end]
Hamgravy: All right, Castor. She's locked. You'll never get out to-night.
Hamgravy: What'll I do with the key?
Castor: Just slip it under the door mat, Hamgravy.
[ID: Castor thinks to himself, a bit dismayed. /end]
Castor: No, don't put it there. I couldn't get it to unlock the door in the morning.
[ID: Castor gets down on his hands and knees and reaches underneath the door. /end]
Castor: Just slip it to me under the door.
SFX: PLOP [Hamgravy falling over backwards]
