**Turn Sound On 🔊** ⁣ ⁣ I’ve started to do more collaborations with incredible artists and visual creators whom I have met and worked with over the years, so you’ll be seeing some of that work here on Instagram over the next number of months, starting with this fun #PlantTimelapse collab of my blooming Hoya krohniana ‘Eskimo’ with @georegulus. ⁣ ⁣ We’re working on a series of these timelapses, combining amazing plants, fun sound effects, and interesting camera moves to discover the secret motions of plants while we go about our day.⁣ ⁣ We weren’t sure as to when this #Hoya inflorescence would fully bloom, so we shot this over the course of six days, but the actual opening of each flower takes place within 5-10 minutes and all the flowers of the inflorescence opened over the course of six hours. In sum: it felt quite instantaneous! ⁣ ⁣ In this one, we thought the busting open of the Hoya’s white flowers looked as if it would sound like popcorn! 🍿 What’s neat too, is being able to see a clear view of the woody peduncle, which “grows” with each consecutive flowering; and the way the cute, velveteen corollas peeled backwards, almost like the way a dog’s ears would tweak if it heard an interesting sound. 🐕⁣ ⁣ Oh and BTW, the smell of these blooms is utterly intoxicating! The whole room is still filled with a natural air freshener; and the blooms seem to last for a couple weeks before they turn frail and fall off. ⁣ ⁣ Love to hear what you think about this take on #planttimelapse! Brahmakamal, A flower that is named after lord Brahma. There have several other names also - "night blooming cereus", "Queen of the night", "Lady of Night" as this flower blooms in night. Some other names are #epiphyllumoxypetalum and #orchidcactus

Orchid Cactus because this flower has beauty like orchid and habit of cactus. This is a sacred plant which gives flowers every year between July to September. It mostly blooms between 7pm to 11pm at night.
