My mind wants to keep busy and be creative where my body wants to take it easy and relax. It’s interesting finding a balance in these situations. Most of the time caring for my plants has been the perfect solution, enough attention to keep my mind busy but also relaxing and a perfect way to unwind. A lot of our plant collections started this way. Needing that type of hobby that wasn’t necessarily a craft but rather something that you needed to tend to and keep pouring work and love into. That base need also turned into wanting to collection rare plants for me as well. Here I have my Philodendron 'El Choco red' which I originally thought was just a different type of Verrucosum🤦🏻‍♀️ but it has really taken to the apartment and put out this new leaf recently! The veins are a glowing green and the back is a beautiful red😍 there is some stubble on the petiole that are also brownish greenish red in color. Which is why I’m guessing it was thought to be a Verrucosum. I’m constantly fascinated by Philodendrons and their many forms, colors, patterns and textures.
