Spent the day walking around Seattle. Went up in the space needle. It was amazing! The view was absolutely fantastic. Then walked down to Pikes Place market. Bought a fillet of salmon, butterfly sunglasses and some souvenirs. Enjoyed visiting with the vendors. Great day. Then went back to our mountain campsite and grilled up the salmon for dinner along with a bottle of huckleberry wine.

Blood orange, discovered and obsessed over after my sister showed me Palo Alto when I was 13, we moved to Seattle and continued to find more songs.(at the time I was still using MP3 player to download music) hadn’t yet discovered Spotify

There was a library down the street, we got library cards to checkout cds and they had Cupid Deluxe and Coastal Grooves, my auntie often took us on drives all the way down to Tacoma, all the way over to Yakima and Wenatchee and sometimes to University of Washington area, that became out favorite spot, I was 14 now and having my formative years as a young woman…always in pikesplace, discovering music, visiting landmarks and curt cobains house, drinking too much caffeine, getting too high or just sipping beers and scrolling tumblr for inspiration. I had no idea all those “insignificant” moments would have the biggest impact on who I was, having friends Vietnamese, Mexican, Puerto Rican, biracial mixes of all kind, experiencing their lives and traditions were so cool, telling them my practices as a whitewashed Native American girl, drinking wine and eating good food. It was the best time of my life. I loved Lincoln park because of the trails and beach views, Alki beach, Luna park, the waterfront, centennial park, gas works park, it was all so beautiful to me, that was the last time I had truly been happy in my life.i have so many memories lost and I wish I could find those pictures and videos of that time in my life, I always wanna go back, I wish I had paid attention in school so I could explain my experiences better, so I knew more art, we went to all the cool skate areas and even though we didn’t have much money I still got to made good memories with my family, when I was back home and deep in my alcohol abuse in bad relationships I would think back to these memories in Washington reminding myself I have a lot of things to be happy about..I experienced life, why was I allowing myself to be so small and filling my void with shitty guys who literally had no respect for themselves let alone me, I gave myself to a lot of people who didn’t deserve me and that in itself is a ache I need to heal, when I was in postpartum with my babies I think back to the life I could have had and I felt so awful..it’s not that I regret my decision or my kids I just wish I didn’t have all that pain that came along with love, pregnancy, toxic people and situations. I was emotionally neglected both of my pregnancies, I was never given the physical and emotional support that I needed, they never wanted to have conversations deep about names, the future, parenting and mental health. I was so alone in trying to cultivate the healthy love that I wanted to give my children, now that I’m on the other end of the worst parts today I woke up feeling excited and hopeful to take my girls to the places that I loved the most, I’m no longer sad about the situation but now looking forward how I’m going to manage and work towards giving them everything alone. I’m so very excited to our future together. I know they love me and I know they’ll appreciate me as a mother because I gave them my undivided attention when it was the most important, I’m doing my job and I’m so very proud of myself for appreciating a life I tried to leave. It always gets better and I wish I could hold my 16,17, 18, 19 year old self and reassure her that it won’t always be like this even though it feels impossible. I’m going to be 22 in 8 days and I’m so damn grateful to call this life mine. I’m full circle in my little girls dreams and seeing those dreams become a reality. All I ever wanted was to love myself and it’s happening. I’m beautiful, complex and have so much potential for everything I want. Working on living in the moment because these days are so precious, my babies being babies and me allowing myself to have independent over fear. Life is oh so sweet right now, the significance of music has played a vital role in every aspect of my life, devonte hynes is most likely my theme to my life story right now, free town sound, negro Swan, angels pulse in my heart, I never got to express my love for his albums because I was so judged and criticized about my music choices, I was so embarrassed about my music likes, now I get to be unapologetically me with my weird sounds and vibes,
