I recently returned to one very interesting manhwa, but all hetero relationships are so toxic that I definitely don't like it. I don't know if I'll draw the best girls together, but they definitely have a much healthier relationship than Medea and Helio. It breaks my heart how Medea constantly uses Helio without sparing his feelings. It seems to me that someone like Perion is suitable for Helio, someone open and mature. Although Perion often fools around and shirks from routine, he still inspires confidence and often shows himself as a sane and compassionate person.

This picture is a fantasy about what will happen if Medea finally breaks Helio's heart. He came to find solace in the arms of God, and in the end he will find it in the arms of the cardinal, hehe. And Perion just wants to save a rapidly blackening soul.

Your Throne - Medea x Perion

Medea covered her lips with her hand, barely trying to hold back the amused chuckle that left her lips. Lowering her sword and walking towards her opponent, the duchess’s smile grew even larger. “At this point, I can’t help but think you enjoy getting yourself in this kind of situation, Perion.”

“S-shut it, will you?” The cardinal groaned, trying to free his leg from the ropes, swinging his suspended body left and right as he did so. However, no matter how much he squirmed or hit the knot with his free heel, it wouldn’t bulge the slightly.

As she approached the man hanging upside down, Medea crossed her arms. Watching his attempts to break free almost made her feel bad for him. Almost, after all, how could she even pity someone when the scene unfolding before her was this entertaining? “That’s not going to work,” she added, earning another frustrated groan from the redhead, “snare traps wouldn’t be made so often if animals could escape them like that.”

As much as Perion disliked it, he gave up. Dropping his arms in defeat, he sighed out loud, watching as the duchess stood in front of him. “I-I get it, help me now, will you?”

“I don’t know”, Medea teased,using the wooden sword to poke his stomach, making the cardinal flinch lightly, but enough to not slip past Medea’s attentive gaze. “Maybe if you ask me nicely?”

“You are enjoying this, aren’t you?” Perion hissed, crossing his arms as his body slowly swung around. “Fine, help me, please, Medea.”

Medea grinned wickedly, sending shivers down the back of Perion’s neck. He knew she was up to something - and it probably was no good. “Surely, Pel, leave it to me,” she mused, graciously swinging her sword around. 

Perion closed his eyes, already expecting her to use it to cut the ropes and drop him to the ground, but it shouldn’t be something that he couldn’t handle. However…

“M-Mehehedea!” He giggled, trying to use his arms to protect his middle as she continued to poke his sides and stomach with the sword. They were quick, nimble and… horribly ticklish. “J-just cuhuhut the rohope alreheheady!” Perion pleaded, trying to use his hands to stop her sword.

“I’m trying, Pel, but you keep moving so much… I can’t possibly land a blow with you moving like this, can I?” She mocked him, skillfully pushing his hand away before continuing to poke his sides, even aiming some pokes on his ribs.

The cardinal could feel the blood flowing down to his head - either because of the time he was hanging upside down or because of the embarrassment he felt. “I swehehear! O-once I gehehet out, you- ACK!!”

Before he could finish his threat, Medea swung her blade one more time, but, this time, directed to the rope keeping him in the air. Despite using a wooden sword, her blow had enough strength to make the rope snap, dropping Perion on the ground.

“You’re welcome,” she said sarcastically, placing her sword over her shoulder as she smiled down at him. “Now get up, we are done practicing.”

“You- a-agh…” Perion groaned, rubbing the top of his head as he gave Medea an angry look. “Yes, duchess,” he muttered, picking up his own sword before following her. What a difficult woman…

A/N: So, to start this year's TickleTober, I wanted to be a liittle self indulgent and spoil myself with one of my favorite pairings from this manhwa eheh

Your Throne headcanons

Main Cast:

In the beginning without Psyche’s healing, Medea (in Psyche’s body) had to put up with muscle aches in places she forgot she could feel fatigue. She ignores the aches through sheer power of will (as she does) but resolves to do a few light exercises every day to build up her stamina and strength—even before asking Eros for swordfighting lessons—in case she had to live as Psyche forever.

Psyche comments about this after switching back to her body, thanking Medea now that it feels like “her lungs can actually expand and breathe more easily.”

Horseback riding was one of the other skills that Psyche requested to learn after switching back to her own body. It’s how she knew how to ride a horse after stealing Helio's when the wall collapsed.

Psyche is so “short and demure” because her growth was stunted from being locked in a box as a child whenever she was punished for misbehaving. Otherwise, her actual height might have been closer to 165 cm (5’5).

Does the Your Throne world have coffee? Anyway Medea is a (black) coffee addict and Psyche is a tea bitch.

Psyche thinks black coffee tastes like Eros—bitter. Medea demands Psyche to never compare her lifeblood to trash ever again.

Eros has a natural “masculine” scent that most girls would swoon for but Medea finds revolting. Since learning about his true colors, being too close to him actually gives Psyche minor headaches because of how pungent his body odor is.

Helio smells like depression.

Pain tolerance from greatest to least: Medea -> Helio -> Eros -> Perion -> Psyche. This is mostly because Psyche’s body is the least resilient to stress, since she’s the least physically fit. And also because the first two are too used to killing their feelings.

However, all of these idiots are highly likely to cut off their own limb if the situation calls for it. Medea and Helio if their cold logic deems it necessary (Helio especially for Medea). Eros has the same cold logic. You can’t tell me Psyche “I’ll stop Helio from stabbing himself with my own hand” and “Dying is scary but I’ll stop my own heart to prevent Eros from killing Medea” Callista wouldn’t treat her own body with little regard. And Perion canonically stabbed his own eye.

Average hours of sleep per night: Medea = 4 (she takes short naps during the day), Helio = 6, Eros = 7, Perion = 7, Psyche = 10 pre-body switch, 8 after returning to her own body.

Medea doesn’t get sick often, and when she does it’s usually something mild that goes away within a few days. But one time when she’s finally allowed to relax and breathe for a minute without Eros, her family, or even the public breathing down her neck, her immune system completely tanks and she gets the worst cold of her life. It’s so bad that she has a fever dream where she wakes up as a reincarnated villainess betrothed to Eros, is being courted by Helio, Perion, and Psyche, and even has relatively loving parents, but all she wants to do is cultivate her farming skills in the inevitable outcome that Eros dumps her for Psyche and banishes her from the kingdom.

No, Medea has never heard of My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! or whatever a Bakarina is that’s why it’s a fever dream.

Psyche (in Medea’s body) kissed Helio on the balcony in the only way she knew how: based on how Eros used to make out with her. It was not a pleasant realization for either Psyche or Helio.

Even with her lack of diverse experience, Psyche is a better kisser than Eros. She learns fast.

When Psyche reveals what happened on the balcony to Medea, Medea just scoffs and offhandedly comments that Helio likes it rough. Psyche chooses not to ruminate about that for too long.

On a similar note, whether or not Medea has actually explicitly mentioned the ch. 122 discourse yes I’m bringing that up, Psyche had a hunch that that would’ve happened while Medea was in her body; considering Psyche and Eros probably did it together after they became engaged. It’s part of the reason why she was so devastated during the body switch, before the women reconciled. But after learning how Eros never loved her, Psyche just feels awful that Medea had to act through such a vulnerable situation.

Supporting Cast:

Dekis, like Nana (bless her soul), is happy that Medea at least has a friend who isn’t trapped in a sense of tragic worship like Helio is. He hopes his sister can continue to build healthier relationships, with new and existing acquaintances.

Thanks to living on his own and developing some life skills, one of them being cooking, Dekis will help out in the kitchen sometimes. The servants were initially against their master doing menial labor, but their worries quickly dissolved. They even share some secrets about Medea’s preferences, to Medea’s amusement.

Along with the books gifted to him, Lira took the rabbit Psyche saved back to his family. They now take care of it as their own pet.

Lynn still reports back to Medea even after Psyche and Medea reconcile. Except instead of plotting to ruin Psyche’s life, now Medea is content with mundane updates like whether Psyche is feeling well or what food she ate or—cringe—how Psyche handled another one of Eros’ visits. Lynn is 100% ??? about the sudden change of heart but doesn’t have the guts to ask her very-scary original employer.

You always found other people problems and lives interesting , and who knows maybe you will find some important information along the way , For example , knowing the fact that eros tried killing lady Psyche more than once can benefit you in the future and also the fact that lady Medea is helping lady Psyche take down this blue guy is also an important piece of information

This is the new your throne cover on Naver webtoon. I love the subtle details on it. At the first look, it looks like Psyche is unconscious and Medea is holding her.. But, is it really Medea?

That expression screams of Psyche when she's angry. Like this.

It doesn't have the coldness of Medea, to me.. it looks more ferocious? Plus, notice how she's wearing a hair band? Medea is not someone who likes dressing old-school, with plaits, hairbands and all. That's usually Psyche's style.

The last cover subtly symbolized what would happen in the arc and it only had a picture of Medea. The entire arc was mainly focused on her.

If I am assuming my assumption is correct and that IS Psyche in Medea's body, then does mean the entire arc will be about their body switching? Like the Birthday Banquet Arc till chapter 40?

It also stands attuned with what Eros was thinking in chapter 122:

In the first pic, he thinks about changing their bodies forever or prevent them from returning. Sam is a type of writer who keeps very subtle hints in her writing to tell us what the characters will do in the future. For eg: Medea spoke about getting rid of her extended family way back in chapter 98. She had planned to do it during the ordination but it didn't happen thanks to Eros blowing up the wall.

She finally did get rid of them from chapter 119-124. Psyche planned to frame the nanny way back in chapter 98 too and we saw her executing it in chapter 106-107.

Notice how in the second picture of Eros, he's thinking about a different force. He'll most probably figure out about the guardian deity and will cause some sort of mayhem in Psydea's lives with all the info he'll collect. He will likely find out about their motive too and it will be a full on war between him and Psydea. Helio might get into this mess for Medea’s sake and die for her.

We might learn more about the pope too and her history with Pel.

It also means Psyche will finally get equal screen time as Medea, but alas, in Medea's body.

But since both Psydea have specific goals of their own (Psyche to learn social skills and get more social footing like Pel & Medea to establish a new, less corrupt dynasty of the Solons), my last theory may be wrong and they may come back to their bodies again.

Another thing is, why is Psyche wearing such revealing clothes? Is it just pure fanservice, or is there a hidden meaning to it? Especially since the story went out of its way to tell us such clothes meant underwear:

Her clothes look quite plain too. Or maybe I am simply overthinking this part.

I am cautiously hoping that this time I will get answers to all my questions regarding the guardian deity, the pope and the oracle. I am also hoping we'll learn why this switch happened in the first place.

I get a feeling that Sam may explore more of Psyche in this arc, but here too, I may be completely wrong.

Despite knowing that webtoon eng will take 1865 days to translate the raws and make a comeback, I am excited to see the raws returning next week. I will be lurking in the nooks and creaks for spoilers. 💃
