"As You Like It" at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre!
I can't believe the whole play is online!
Tumblr media
I love this production! (I own the DVD.) I especially love Tim McMullan as Jaques.
If you love Shakespeare or theatre in general, watch this!

Sorry, Buttercup, you should've guessed that he was evil from the way he was slaying those outfits.

PERIOD DRAMA APPRECIATION WEEK 2023
Day 3: Favorite Costume Design: Ever After (1998) des. by Jenny Beavan, and Titanic (1997) des. by Deborah Lynn Scott
"I wanted it to be as accurate as possible, so I really studied the period and got the nuances of the styles down. When do you wear gloves? Do you wear gloves this time? Literally there are books written about how many times a day you change your clothes. We read a lot about etiquette and tried to figure out the protocol about how you behave at a table, including the manners of dress. I did a lot of dress restoration from real garments and designed our own from restored pieces of fabric, lace, or old beading." — Deborah Lynn Scott on Titanic's costumes.
[friends] "say, 'At least a chest of drawers doesn’t answer you back'. But I like the interaction with a real person...and it’s very nurturing. It’s more than just putting clothes on them: you are very much there as a sort of therapist, mother, all of which I enjoy thoroughly.' — Jenny Beavan on costume designing*
*I looked and looked but could not find her discussing Ever After specifically anywhere!
