Heute zeigen wir euch einen taoistischen Tempel, mitten in Georgetown. Ihr findet ihn in der Armenien Street, einer der bekanntesten Straßen in der Innenstadt, vor allem bei Touristen. . In dieser Gegend findet ihr auch viele Streetarts und andere Sehenswürdigkeiten. Dieser Tempel ist auch ganz in der Nähe unseres Lieblings-Eisladen, von dem wir euch vor ein paar Tagen erzählt haben. . Der Hock Teik Cheng Si Tempel, ist ein Clantempel der Hokkien, die ihren Ursprung in der südlichen Provinz Fujian in China haben. Es wird angenommen, dass der Tempel und seine umliegenden Gebäude zwischen 1850 und 1867 erbaut wurden. . Am bekanntesten ist er als Hokkien Tua Pek Kong Tempel, nach seiner Schutzgottheit Tua Pek Kong, der taoistische Gott des Wohlstands, der auch den damaligen Namen Hock Teik Cheng Sin trägt. . One of the largest Hungry Ghost festivals celebrate in Bukit Mertajam, Malaysia. It was a 100-year-old tradition for the community to start the 15-day festival on the third day untill the 15th day of the seventh lunar month. The devotees will worship the "Tai Su Yeah" (King of Hades) in the form of paper effigies, built by experienced craftsman without the help from the machine.
