I made my own 9S doll cuz the official sells for way too much secondhand. He's a Dollce Alkanet (head c) i had lying around on a parabox 50cm boy body. I had been planning on redoing the faceup but i decided it doesn't really matter if he has his blindfold anyway (and company faceups on vinyl are always extremely hard for me to remove honestly so i'd been putting it off) he will very likely never wear his canon outfit lmao. I really liked all the art we got of 9S in other outfits when the anime came out and i never have him in his normal clothes in the game either lol i also liked some of the concept art outfits so i might make some of those

Meet Sadako 🥹 I just finished painting her face.

Sadako is a Parabox Otohime! She stands at 80cm, which makes her my largest doll.

I have been saving and waiting to get her for a while. Today she came in and she is MASSIVE. But also very light! She's a vinyl doll, so she's not quite a BJD.

But also, she's one of the cheaper dolls I own. My most expensive being a Dollmore Zaoll Muse.

And yes, I purposefully picked the name Sadako. If I get another one like her, I'm naming her Kayako.

my darling daughter, miray! she's a 45cm parabox obitsu with an ai-chan head. everything about her, from faceup to outfit, was made by me, minus her wig which i just cut and styled, and her purse which was modified from a daiso coin purse to be a doll purse! she's a lot of firsts for me (to begin with, i barely know how to sew doll clothes still), and it was a blast getting to see her come together! i can't wait to make more outfits for her!

Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted! I decided to take a leap and have been working on faceup commissions from some lovely people who have entrusted me to work some magic on their dolls. I even have some manicure requests! Exciting! Meantime, please check out this mini photoshoot with my Asuka, Rei and Mari. I have had a hard time finding good glasses for Mari but these will do for now. They’re all Parabox heads on azone and obitsu 1/3 bodies (so about the height of Dollfie Dream Pretty). I love long haired Rei a lot but I hope to get her a short wig and a white medical eye patch some point in the future. They’re using an American Girl desk from my youth (heavy as heck!) but I actually recently got the vintage American Girl Mac Desktop that I kinda want to use for a different photoshoot with these three. I could even photoshop some NERV computer screens onto it I bet! Also, the school bag is actual from my Azone Madoka uniform set (one day I’ll get one of the Azone Madoka dolls).

My Otohime Nina doll should be here in day or so! I'm honestly shocked. I ordered her on the 9th with a painted face up and she's scheduled to be here the 17th!

And while looking at Otohime information and stuff I just learned that there is not only the 110cm dolls but an Obitsu 150cm(!!) doll!

Working on a doll size bonnet (pattern from glb 34). It was supposed to be for Léopoldine but her head is too big so I’ll have to remake her one. It fits Valériane well tho so nothing is lost ^^’ (I kinda want to make her a 1830 dress or a lolita outfit now)

I still need to add the decorative bows and the ribbon ties but I have nothing in that color in my stash so it will have to wait.

I recently received my Gretel heads from Junkyspot and I’m so surprised by their texture!!

I have 1/6 scale obitsus and they feel like most playline doll heads. Squishy.

1/3 Gretel is a thin hard plastic. I’ve heard it described at hard vinyl (I think) but it still doesn’t feel how I expected (the headcap is a very stiff vinyl and I guess that’s how I expected the whole head to be). I’m fairly confident I can use MSC to paint them, but what remover are safe to use??? I feel like if I use acetone they’re gonna melt. Help!

Hello and welcome

Hello everyone🖖 Dion here.

Thought I'd make an introductory post to this blog. This is a side blog for @ratcore00 (where I post mostly pictures and reblog) and the finality of this blog is to write! And also share pictures, of course, but mostly write about my hobby: ball jointed dolls. I'll share my tips, my experiences, review bodies, and much more! I'm thinking of starting off with one post everyday but we'll see!

Now, a little about me. I'm Dion, I'm an artist based in Portugal. I'm currently 23 years old and I'm a march pisces. I've always loved dolls, to play with them, to explore their functions, to dress them up. When I found out about ball jointed dolls in 2014 a whole new world was open to me. My 14 year old self was leaving dolls behind but felt empty, that's when bjd entered the scene and ever since then I've been wanting a bjd. Luckily, as I started working last year at a decent job, I could finally afford my first dollie!! Doll Leaves Ida, a doll I had been eyeing for years now.

Her little elf ears, her pointed nose, her sad/upset expression really got my attention. I decided to turn her into a little mall Goth/baby bat girl since I love the aesthetic, fashion and music.

This is how my doll leaves Ida looks right now! (I did her faceup like 5 times lol). I'm commissioning her a wig that looks more on the emo/scene side. I also need to treat her to some clothes because she's tired of wearing these.

Right now, I have one doll to ship off since I sold her (resinsoul Mei), a parabox 47cm body with Hime Ane head (my first vinyl doll), a minifee dark elf soo a event head (my first floating head) and my little Irene (doll leaves Ida).

I'm quite the noob to this hobby so let's grow together and learn. I hope you enjoy reading my blog and never hesitate to submit compliments, complaints, suggestions, etc!

Lastly I wanna add that my biggest dream is to make my own doll line! I'm currently working on the concept for a 34cm doll line and I will share it with you guys when I have more materials.

My goal this year is to improve my photo skills, and also to take more photos in general, so I'm trying to do one shoot per week minimum

I want to try out a selfie light right I'd bought a little while ago, but it turned out to give a very weak light that changes nothing. At least I had fun with the pose... Though I feel the head ends up looking very big, a problem I often have in photos. I'll need to figure out how to deal with that.
