My reactions to Evangelion 22: At least, be human

Apparently in this one Asuka loses her shit.

Asuka's mother killed herself after going insane. Asuka had to watch her love and care for a doll that she believed to be Asuka.

"Dolls are something made in humans own image."

Did her dad immediately take up with another chick? What a dick

Asuka is having trouble synchronizing.

They're making more Evas. Suspicious.

Asuka is jealous.

Shinji is jealous because he thinks Asuka has a mom. He's also so weird, standing there and listeing to her.

Asuka, calm down.

She's really struggling.

Damn, that cat lady dig.

Standing in the elevator, not talking at all. Love this scene. It drags on so much. It's so awkward.

Asuka has a problem with dolls for sure.

But this explains why she has such a strong reaction to the perception of being replaced.

Is Shinji just sitting in his Eva during all this?

The second impact wasn't caused by contact with an Angel. I mean, I didn't think so, but good to know.

The spear was holding Adam back from regenerating. It is what was shoved into him while he was up on the wall.

That's a pretty high tech spear.

Shinji wanted to save her.

In Conclusion

I mean, I knew Asuka was aggressively overcompensating for her insecurity, but she really did go through it as a kid. Her backstory fits her character really well.

It's interesting that the Angels are trying to get in their heads. Are they trying to reach the human pilots or the Angel parts of the Evas? I guess probably humans. Gotta know the enemy or whatever.

Okay, well I am actually dozing off while I try to think. The episode preview for the next episode straight up says Rei gets vaporized after also experiencing a psych scramble so I'm wondering what we will find out about her blood soaked origins. If I am brave enough and have the time, I'll watch it tomorrow.
