Introducing one of the coolest cats ever… Hawking! Hawking (formerly Chipper) first came to our attention when we noticed him and his brother, Chester on posts about cats at Devore needing help. Cats in that shelter are always in desperate need of help and they weigh heavily on our mind and hearts. Since we tend to work so closely with TNR people and take the friendlies they find living on the streets, we often don’t have the space for a lot of shelter cats. We also don’t have a lot of fosters willing or able to take adult cats, but when we do, we like to save adults from the shelter. We knew that one of our fosters able to take adults would be opening up soon, so we thought the 2 brothers would be a perfect match for @brooklynny3 ‘s foster room. The boys needed to be pulled asap so @___c.h.a.p.i.s.___ agreed to short term foster the brothers until April was able to receive them. Sadly, when we went to pull them, a member of the public had adopted Chester, the long haired brother and left Hawking behind!!! Our hearts were broken as these 2 boys were truly a bonded pair. We couldn’t leave him there to get killed, as his chances of getting adopted were dramatically decreased because of his back feet. Hawking was born with 2 back deformed feet but it doesn’t stop him!! One of them he walks on fine and the other he just picks up a bit. (He’s perfectly imperfect.) @kittydevorerescue rescue was  a huge help in helping us to get the boys out and when we were chatting with Emily about pulling him, something popped in our heads to ask if by chance they had any other siblings dropped off too. And they did!!! A sister! So of course we said we would take her too. That’s a whole other story so that deserves its own post. We know this is a long post, but we think everyone needs to know this boys story and how deserving he is to find a home. Hawking is truly a great cat. Everyone who meets him falls in love. He’s COOL, loving, affectionate, silly and an all around awesome cat.
