The interesting experience of having watched supernatural but not really interacting with the fandom and knowing nothing about the actors or filming of it and the conventions and whatever they post on Twitter or whatever but my dash being suddenly flooded with posts about them. I don't know what's going on ever, and at this point, I don't think I even could wrap my head around everything and become involved in the fandom space. How do you guys keep up? I can't even remember what plotline goes to what season.

I really despise the Marvelification of Stranger Things, because all the interviews nowadays are constantly referencing how fast paced and epic and big the finale will be but the reason people fell in love with the show wasn't special effects or long episodes; it was the plot, it was the characters, it was the mystery. Stranger Things 1 may have been a story about a government conspiracy and a monster, but that's not why we stuck around. The show can throw amazing CGI, Russians, a battle within the American army and an apocalypse at the audience with the biggest budget known to man but if they forget to ground it and keep it central, it'll just get lost amongst a plethora of other "epic" blockbusters. We want Steven King, not Avengers.

They had a bit of a chance encounter on a day where Blueblood was dealing with something that was very difficult and was so caught up in his emotions he didn’t even care that he was in the garden getting grass stans on his coat and Ditzy, with her natural impulse to cheer ponies up, didn’t even notice or care that she was flying into the palace gardens when she saw someone sat in the rain.

At first he was definitely going to call the castle guards to come apprehend this strange filly with the odd eyes who was intruding when this was the last moment he’d want to entertain any desperate debutantes, however she surprised him by not fawning or anything, not even caring about his status, just putting one of her fluffy wings up and asking if he needed somepony to lend an ear.

“Don’t let my eyes fool you, my ears work just fine!”

She was incredibly disarming and while he didn’t reveal everything about why he was upset, he found himself talking about his feelings to her. And she made such cheerful remarks, and was very comforting. In the end, he felt better and she came to check on him the next day, even sharing a blueberry muffin with him. He remarked that he’d never seen her around before, and that he wouldn’t mind terribly seeing her more often.

The rest, as they say, is history.

"God allows" language is honestly so counterproductive in so many situations. Like, ok, theologically we all recognize that God is not the source of anything evil. But so much of the time just saying "God put you in this situation" or even "God caused" is so much more true to the world as we experience it. "God allows" just sounds like you're trying to remove God's agency and control from your suffering.

i love that bagi relentlessly pursues the truth and answers even if that means stumbling into the things that hurt people. like the jolt of pain through your skull when you've got sensitive teeth and eat something cold. she looks at pac having a panic attack and her first thought is to go, my god, someone else who has more answers, who can fill out this story for me. obviously she's not heartless and she understands that shes poking at old wounds. but it's really really nice from a viewers perspective to have a character who digs, on purpose or by accident, and ends up uncovering all of this history and baggage that these characters have spent 7 months trying to bury

I'm watching Tericho's latest theory video and it got me thinking about the Prototype's true intention towards the player, and maybe why he killed Catnap.

Neither Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Leg nor Catnap attacked us right away. They lurked around. Well Mommy was more directly present. But all three starts off not being a danger. I guess Catnap putting us in the trash compactor was dangerous but seeing how he loves to play cat and mouse and can immediatly be seen lurking around, I think he knew we'd get away anyways.

Added to that, Catnap tells us to leave constantly through the chapter. Not just once, not twice. He wrote everywhere that we had to leave.

We know how eagerly he obeys tye Prototype, so we can assume most of the things he does, the Prototype asked him to. Probably same for Huggy. And Mommy could have been an outlier in following the Prototype but she seemed to be scared of him enough to at least not go against him.

So my theory is that the Prototype doesn't want us dead. He just wants us to leave the factory. He had two occasions to kill us himself, yet he didn't. All three main antagonists eventually tried to kill us in the end of each chapter but Huggy ended up seemingly dead (we know he's not tho), Mommy killed by us and then retrieved by him. He didn't had the time to punish them for trying to kill us. But he did for Catnap. And i think that's why he ended up killing him. Either Catnap wasn't supposed to end us or it was punishment for failing to drive us away without coming to harm.

Poppy and the Prototype are on opposed sides, that much is clear. Poppy wants us to uncover the full truth behind Playtime Co, the Prototype wants us to leave and forget about it all.

So that means there is far more to discover down that damned Factory. Things the Prototype doesn't want us to discover.

#rain world #i actually never thought about this before #my guess would be either max karma or they're completely exempt from the karma system somehow #but still able to grant it to others of course #i do think the view of how karma works in rain world is partly a societal construct only remaining upheld by the iterators #and its actual workings are much more mysterious than what is known about it on the surface level #maybe it's better to view it less like a resource that can be gained and lost and more like a? flow? or a connection of sorts #but because of game mechanics ™ they get implemented like a level/score type thing #my reasoning behind no karma level for iterators is that they are severed from that connection by nature of their inability to participate #in the cycle #SOS being the only one who was able to achieve connection with the cycle by dying #iterators #karmapoll
