Power Ranger Rewrite: The Zordon Saga

General

Starting off, I actually wanted this to be more disconnected from the OG Power Rangers, at least at first.

That means the initial Turbo Rangers lineup is T.J., Justin, Ashley, Carlos & Cassie.

It’s a more personal hero's journey for them, going from rookies in the shadow of the much more famous teams, to the Rangers who are actually publicly known.

Though a lot of that growth will be covered in Turbo, so Andros, Zhane, and Astronema get more time to shine in Space

Turbo

Starting this off with my intention to make this as silly as possible.

At first.

First of all, this series takes place a year or two after the end of Zeo.

The story starts with Lerigot coming to Earth, having escaped the clutches of Divatox, a privateer in the employ of Dark Spectre, seeking his magic to summon the Maligore as a potential host.

She captures his family, but Lerigot escapes with the help of the Storm Blaster and Lightning Cruiser, two sentient cars from a magitek world, bringing along with them a set of Morphers and ‘Power Engine’ from that world which Divatox had bought off the black market.

(“I knew I should have destroyed them while I had the chance!”)

The Turbo Ranger powers are actually the same ones used by the Sentai Turborrangers, who themselves were from the same planet as the cars. (Yes I know there’s a black Turborranger and a green Turbo Ranger, let’s just pretend the Sentai Turborranger was green)

He makes his way to Earth, seeking Zordon, but finds himself in an Angel Grove bereft of Power Rangers.

But his arrival catches the attention of five overbearing, over emotional young humans, TJ, Carlos, Cassie, Ashley, and Justin.

All of the Rangers are aged up a little, with Justin being a young teen while the other four are college aged.

Lacking options, Lerigot gives them the Morphers in order to fend off a Pirahnatron Patrol and hopes they don’t explode.

Despite a steep learning curve, the Turbo Rangers rise to the occasion and foil Divatox’s plan…for now.

In the meantime, Zordon, having left for Eltar, sends Dimitira and Alpha 6 to Earth to oversee these new Rangers, just to make sure that they don’t get killed.

Lerigot and his family leave, but not before leaving the key to Maligore’s prison in Zordon’s collection within the Power Chamber

Shortly after, the Bowzark Space Pirates roll up to confront the Rangers, based more off their Sentai incarnations, including a Zonette separate from Divatox, who of course becomes TJ’s love interest.

For the first part of the series, it’s a lot more light-hearted than mighty morphin rangers, the Bowzacks trying to steal the Storm Blaster, Lightning Cruiser, the Morphers, Dimitria…anything they can get their hands on, really.

The Blue Senturion comes to Earth, briefly becomes a vigilante, and sorta mentors the Rangers between the silliness.

The Phantom Ranger arrives to reclaim the Turbo Ranger powers, but sees that they're capable (enough) and teaches them a little, eventually giving them the Rescue Megazord.

He’s trying so hard to not get attached and failing so miserably.

Also mentoring the Rangers is Rocky, returned to Angel Grove, and inadvertently Bulk & Skull.

Then Divatox returns, Havoc by her side, courtesy of Elgar calling her in.

She’s still perfectly hammy, but she starts sowing distrust amongst the already fractious Bowzacks, enticing them to join Dark Spectre’s ranks, and having the Rangers dispose of them.

Exhaus is captured by the Blue Senturion, and Zonnette agrees to testify against him in return for a reduced sentence, exiting the series…with Dimitria.

But this was what Divatox, and by extension, Dark Spectre’s forces were waiting for.

As they launch their assault on Eltar and allied worlds, Divatox unleashes Goldgoyle, destroying the Turbo Zords and weapons while raiding the Power Chamber, capturing the Power Engine, the sentient cars, and the Key to Maligore’s prison.

The Turbo Rangers arrive and try their best, but they’re overwhelmed and Divatox fulfills her promise to destroy the Turbo Morphers, before finally blowing up the Power Chamber.

What happens next occurs relatively close to canon, with Alpha 6 and the Rangers, sans Justin, headed off into Space with the last remaining artifact in Zordon’s collection: a space shuttle capable of Zord functionality, just in case.

In Space

Compared to the other series, I’m not gonna change much because of how good it is.

We do get a more action-y prologue, showcasing Dark Specter’s forces attacking Eltar, with Astronema and Ecliptor holding Zordon’s power chamber.

Zedd arrives, gloating that Zordon is stuck in his little tube since his back up Power Chamber on Earth is destroyed, and the rangers guarding it were de-powered and (as far as they know) killed.

He’s taken to the planet Cimmeria, but before the ship jumps into lightspeed, a familiar cloaked stranger sneaks aboard.

Divatox arrives and summons Maligore, allowing Dark Spectre to take its body.

When Andros first meets the Rangers, there’s initially some friction because they’re not the Power Rangers of Earth, who all seem to have disappeared.

The Rangers of Karovia (KO-35) are basically their version of Lightspeed Rescue, technologically created morphers and zords meant to act as a deep space rescue force, though as Dark Spector’s forces moved in, increasingly became freedom fighters and straight up combatants.

Andros and Zhane are on-and-off romantic, but Karovians are a lot cooler with polyamory, so Andros also has feelings for Ashley, and when Zhane wakes up and sees the chemistry between the two is just like ‘sweet! Girlfriend-in-law!

The Psycho Rangers are the twisted spirits of Power Rangers who turned evil (Like Psycho Green), practically insane at this point via the processes uses to make them monsters.

The Z-Wave does not wipe out all evil, but purges the evildoers who had tied their power to Dark Spector so intricately. All the minions and monsters die, as does Rito, being an undead being of Dark Magic, several others are given forceful adjustments to their point of view, and Zedd and Rita (Now Mistress Vile, as her father’s successor) barely survive do to Zedd’s…precautions.

The Rita Putty from MMPR is hit by the wave just outside of a little town called Briarwood, and is saved by a comforting voice, and the feeling of comforting magic...

Divatox and Elgar get those forceful adjustments, but that doesn’t mean they won’t return to their dastardly ways.

But still, the day is saved, and perhaps most importantly, the Astro Ranger’s identities are known, which has gotta have repercussions for the future.

On The Wild Side chapter 7

I know it’s been a while, I hope you guys are still out there. @bihoodnerd already posted this chapter on AO3 for me if you guys wanna read it over there.

Trini sat up on the cot, her forehead dripping with sweat as she woke up from her nightmare. She held Kim’s hoodie to her chest, breathing in deeply. Trini grabbed her phone and checked the time. It was a little after 5 AM as she got up and pulled her shoes on.

Trini walked down to the pit and stepped into the middle of the room to begin the simulation. She took down monster after monster, using her claws to slash through them. At one point she was surrounded. She dropped low to the floor and jumped high, using her roar midair and pushed them back. Trini took a deep breath and looked around at the empty pit. She smiled to herself as she drank from her water bottle.

“Trini, Zordon would like a word with you.” Alpha said through her earpiece.

She descended into the cave, confident in herself to fulfill the mission.

“Trini, alpha five’s scanners have picked up a very large heat signature coming from the other side of the mines. I am recommending you take the zords with you as backup.”

“Will they even follow me? I figured Kim’s only did it because of our bond.” She said to the wall.

“Like your team, the zords follow the lead of the alpha, trust that they will help you in battle.”

Trini turned to walk out of the control room when Zordon spoke up.

“Remember Trini, the alpha will always fight for their team, until their last breath. Bring your team home, you’re their last hope.”

Trini nodded as she walked out of the room to the “garage” where they kept the zords. When she walked in, her Sabertooth dropped its giant metal head for her to pet. The rest of the zords looked at them, as though waiting instructions. Trini took a breath, and let her powers take over. Her yellow eyes looked into those of her zord. Bright yellow lines spread throughout the Sabertooth as it stood with its head tilted upwards. The rest of them bowed to the tiger as Trini climbed into the cockpit.

“Let’s go get them back.”

“Get those pods onto that truck now! I’ve made it this far, I can’t afford anymore slip ups from you idiots.” Astronema yelled at Kim and the boys.

A dozen government agents were at the mines getting ready to transport the kids. Pods were rolled out of the cave and onto trucks.

“And you’re sure they won’t wake up ‘till we get back to base?” A man in a black suit asked Astronema.

“Of course, the pods were designed to keep them in a sleep-like state until they’re opened.” Astronema said, faking a smile.

The man smiled sinisterly and hit the side of the truck. The other agents followed his lead and started climbing into their vehicles.

“The boys back at HQ are gonna love these.” He said out the window with a chuckle.

The engines rumbled, before they could go anywhere however, Trini stopped the Sabertooth zord right in front of their path.

“You’re not taking them anywhere.” Trini snarled. Trini stood on top of her zord with her claws extended.

“Sir what do we do?” one of the agents yelled from a jeep.

“Take her out you idiots! It’s one person, she can’t be invincible!” Their leader yelled.

Trini let out an ear-shattering roar, sending the men flying backwards. Trini ran to the back of one of the trucks and threw the door open. Trini hopped up and ripped the covers off as many pods as she could. Right away, the kids opened their eyes as the government men got back up. Trini helped a girl out of the pod, she felt a tug in her chest as the girl looked at her pocket and retrieved a green power coin.

“How’d you get t-” Trini had no time to finish as the agents started firing their weapons at them. She howled in pain as a bullet nicked her in the shoulder.

“I’ll cover you, go get the others!” A yellow glow wrapped itself around Trini as the agents aimed all their weapons at her. She used her claws to take out the three machine guns that were mounted on top of their jeeps. They took to the ground, trying to corner Trini, but she was too fast for them to get a good shot.

Trini saw the girl get the last group of kids off the truck and head towards the woods. The girl turned for a moment and nodded her head to Trini, she returned the sentiment as the girl took off with the kids.

Suddenly, the ground shook violently and threw them all to the floor.

“Retreat! Everyone go, now!” The agents’ leader yelled. They all piled into whatever vehicles they could and took off down the road.

Trini had no time to chase after them however, because Kimberly and the boys ambushed her.

“Good to see you again Trini,” the three of them said unanimously, an eerie voice echoing out of their mouths, “unfortunately, you are disturbing my plans and we can’t have that now can we?”

Lights matching their coins glowed from their hands and like magic, Trini’s team held new weapons in their hands. A black ax, a pink bow, a red sword, and a blue staff.

“Looks like you guys got an upgrade, too bad I did too.” Trini smirked as the yellow glow enveloped her once again. Her suit looked different to the others now, it was a tighter fit than the armor, her helmet had ears now, and the visor was more of a mask with eye slits. Her gloves had claws that could be retracted and the suit itself had brown stripes.

The boys rushed her, each hitting from a different side. Trini had no problem taking them on with her newfound strength, except that Kim had sent an arrow flying right into the back of her leg.

“Fuck!” she yelled out in pain as she went down on one knee.

Zack swung his ax at Trini’s head, ready to strike. Trini rolled out of the way as the others closed in on her.

“Sorry guys, your ears might hurt after this.” she said out loud. Trini let out a glass-shattering roar at the team.

The boys went down all together, but Kimberly had rolled out of the way just in time.

“Never send a boy to do a girl’s job I suppose.” Kimberly said in a seductive tone, her arrows piercing Trini’s armor.

“I know you’re in there, babe, fight it.” Trini grunted as she pulled the arrows out.

Kimberly walked up to her and leaned in, cupping Trini’s face. “Oh Trini, don’t you get it? I’ve taken your little team and made them into soldiers. And when I’m done with them, there won’t be anything left.”

A growl ripped through her throat as Trini tackled Kimberly to the ground, her eyes blazing yellow. Kimberly’s smirk fell into a grimace as she realized what Trini was about to do.

“No, no, no! You can’t do this!” She yelled as Trini gripped her face.

In an instant, Kimberly’s body dropped to the floor, unconscious. Trini threw her over her shoulder and walked over to the boys. The ground shook as something large headed towards them.

Trini nudged Jason’s ribs with her shoe. “Jase, Jase? Jason wake up.”

Jason stirred and sat up. “Trin? What happened?” The boy groaned as Trini helped him up.

“I’ll explain later, grab the boys we gotta go,” Trini said as they jogged to a nearby cliff.

Trini put two fingers in her mouth, summoning the zords to their position. Trini’s Sabertooth led the charge as the others followed behind as a huge monster made up of nanobots slunk out of the cave, followed closely by Astronema and some kids.

“Don’t let them escape!” Astronema cried out as the team ran to a clearing. Trini threw Kim into her cockpit as Jason got the others in. The giant nano monster and hypnotized kids flanked them from all sides.

“Cover your ears,” Trini said. Trini put her hands on the control board of her zord, the giant sabertooth opened its mouth and let out an incredible roar.

The nano monster roared in pain as pieces of it fell apart. Astronema let out a scream as the rangers made their way back to the ship.

“Ugh I feel like I got hit by a truck.” Zack groaned as he opened his eyes. Trini had been sitting in a chair next to his cot, waiting for him to wake up.

She handed him a glass of water. “Well what did you expect? Astronema had you guys under her spell for hours and then I had to kick your ass.”

Zack snorted as he sat up from the cot. Everyone had been resting up since Trini rescued them. It was late morning when they had all gotten back to the ship.

“I’m gonna go check on Kim, you gonna be okay?” Trini stroked his hair as Zack nodded as he dropped back into the cot.

Trini made her way through the ship to go find Kimberly, on her way out, she passed Jason and Billy in the control room monitoring the scanners.

“Trini, come here for a sec,” Jason said from where they were bent over a computer.

“What’s up guys?” She asked, coming up behind. She saw they had taken apart the earpieces Astronema had given them while they were under her control.

“We were taking a look at the earpieces Astronema put on us and we think she might’ve been weakened the last time she had to fight a ranger team and that’s why she’s been having trouble with the hypnotized kids. The weird thing is, the kids didn’t have earpieces, they had nanobot chips on the back of their ears. Jason and I think that the earpieces could only be used on actual rangers.”

“Actual rangers? What do you mean?”

“While we were under her spell, we learned that the kids don’t have power coins like the rest of us do. The kids all got their powers because they were exposed to radiation from the Zeo Crystal,” Jason explained.

“That can’t be right, I found a girl with a green coin. She helped me get the pod kids out of the trucks.” Trini rubbed her face.

“But I thought Rita had the green power coin? Whatever, we’ll get back to that. We think your roar is strong enough that it can disrupt the signal to the bots, which is why the giant nano monster was falling apart after your zord roared at it,” Billy said.

“Holy shit guys, great job. Keep looking into it and let me know if you find anything else,” Trini said on her way out. She could faintly hear Jason and Billy talk about the green coin and what it could mean for the team.

Trini spotted Kim a couple feet away from the cliff, sitting under a tree on their rock.

“You okay princess?” Trini asked, wrapping her arms around Kim’s middle. The pink ranger shrugged her shoulders as Trini sat with her.

“It was so weird Trin. She was in my head, it’s like she was controlling my body, but I could see everything she was making me do. After you got away, the guys,” she stopped to take a breath as tears started to flow from her eyes, “the guys dragged me to her. When she was looking into my eyes, it was like every muscle in my body was burning. When she got inside my head, she showed me every bad thing I've ever done or thought. The boys were like robots, I thought we’d lost them forever, I thought I'd lost you forever.”

Kim tucked her head underneath Trini’s chin, the tears falling silently. A soft purring sound came from Trini’s throat as she stroked Kimberly’s hair.

“It’s okay Kim, I got you.”

Soft footsteps and a cough came from behind them, “Zordon’s asking for us,” Jason said, giving the girls their space.

“Rangers, I’m glad to see you all safe. I am afraid your mission has not ended yet. In the past couple hours, the earthquakes have come more frequently and at stronger levels in the city. Alpha and I think that Astronema is preparing her forces to lead an attack on Angel Grove.”

“You saw what she did to us last time, what chance do we have of beating her now?” Zack said nonchalantly.

“Why are you thinking like that? We have no choice but to beat her Zack,” Jason argued.

“I’m just being realistic, how are we supposed to beat her?”

“Enough! You need to come up with a plan, Astronema is probabl-”

An earthquake shook the mountain before Zordon could finish. Dust shook from the ceiling as the rumbling only got worse. Lights lit up on the control boards as the whole ship continued to shake. Billy pulled up his chair to the computer to map the source of the quakes.

“Guys we have a giant monster walking straight through downtown.”

“The time is now rangers! Go forth and save your home.” Zordon’s voice shook through the quakes.

“Okay guys it’s time, let’s go take our town back,” Jason said as they ran through the ship to the garage.

Power Rangers Shinobi Strike

Centuries ago in Japan a wicked and cruel man led an army in an attempt to rule everything. However a group of shinobi rose up to fight him. Desperate for victory the wicked man opened a portal to the demon realm but him and his army were pulled into it. A blacksmith created a special sealing shuriken and the shinobi split this key into five pieces. They took the pieces and spread around the world to prevent the key from being reformed. Time passed and each shinobi began a family and their skills and tools were passed on as well. These included a scroll detailing the events of the battle and a Shinobi Shuriken. However a demonic Kitsune managed to steal the key shards and reopen the portal. The wicked man had become a Demonic Emperor with an army of Nonja. However time has left him weakened and so they send the Nonja out to harness fear to bring him back to his former glory. He also sends out shurikens charged with demonic power to create modern day Yokai. The current heirs to the five shinobi gather in a city near the site where the portal is weakest and unleash their power as the Power Rangers Shinobi Strike! With Ninpo and the tools and powers of the shinobi they fight back against the Demonic Emperor as their ancestors once did. After rescuing a man and his family the five are allowed to live in his martial arts dojo. Each ranger has power over an element but only via a special shuriken. One of their earliest tasks is to teach each other how to utilize the other elements.

Red Shinobi Ranger- The Burning Ninja- Alexis Georgiou Kokinos Age: 20 Personality/Bio: Born in Greece, Alexis and his family made their home on Santorini Island, in the shadows of the volcano on the island. He is a very hot blooded and energetic young man. When it comes to innocent life he is very reckless, not afraid to jump into danger to rescue others. His Key Shard was the last one stolen and he sent out the alarm to the rest of the Shinobi as he followed the thief. He found them and tried to engage them but almost lost if not for the arrival of the other Shinobi Rangers. He holds the element of fire within him and can use his element’s power to burn his enemies or create a smokescreen. As the leader of the team, known as The Burning Ninja, he holds the Red Shinobi Ranger powers. Face Claim: Kostas Martakis

Blue Shinobi Ranger- The Storming Ninja- Simon Weaver Age: 19 Personality/Bio: Simon was born in the United Kingdom. He received his Blue Shuriken and Blue Shinobi Scroll from his uncle when he was young. As The Storming Ninja, Simon can control water, using it to drown his enemies or freeze it to create shields to shield himself and his friends. When the alarm about the theft of the Key Shards went out he was the second to arrive to save Alexis. He is the second-in-command of the team and the team strategist. He prefers to have his nose stuck in a book, rather than a battle, but when lives are on the line, he takes his Ranger duties seriously and fights alongside the rest of his team. Face Claim: Matthew Rhys Bond

Yellow Shinobi Ranger- The Quaking Ninja- Tito Cézar Almeida Costa Age: 21 Personality/Bio: Known as The Quaking Ninja, Tito was born in Brazil. For years he worked in his family’s quarry, so he’s no stranger to hard work. He is the physically strongest member of the team and the one they rely on to do the heavy lifting. He has a kind personality and does his best to fulfill his Ranger duties. He is often the peacekeeper of the group. After the theft of the Key Shards he received the Yellow Shuriken and Yellow Shinobi Scroll and became the Yellow Shinobi Ranger. He controls the element of earth and can use it to bury his enemies under layers of dirt or use dust to create a cloud to distract his enemies or make a quick getaway. Face Claim: Alex Meraz

White Shinobi Ranger- The Flowery Ninja- Monique Dupont Age: 18 Personality/Bio: One of the youngest of the team, Monique is a student at the local university in agricultural sciences in Paris, growing up there her entire life. Her father was an American and her mother a French botanist, fluent in English and French. She grew up with a natural affinity for flowers, and all plants in general and is skilled in botany. As The Flowery Ninja the element of wood grows within her and she can use it to slice her enemies like wheat or defend herself and others like the mighty oak. Monique was given the White Shinobi scroll along with a White Shuriken when she was old enough. After the theft of the Key Shards she was sent to find the others. Face Claim: Lily-Rose Depp

Pink Shinobi Ranger- The Metallic Ninja- Anna Zamolodchikova Age: 18 Personality/Bio: The same age as Monique, the two women got along from the start. A prodigy with machines as a result of growing up in a Russian junk yard. Anna has grown up with her hands in the gears as she tinkers away at the machines her family has built. As The Metallic Ninja the element of metal shines within her and can create sharp blades or solid barriers. When she was old enough she was given a Pink Shinobi scroll along with a Pink Shruiken. Following the theft of the Key Shards she left to find the other Shinobi Rangers Face Claim: Harley Quinn Smith

Gold Shinobi Ranger- The Starry Ninja- Danielle “Dan” Anders Age: 23 Personality/Bio: Boisterous and loud while morphed, Danielle is a pretty shy and meek person in real life. The descendants of the blacksmith who created the key shuriken moved to the western United States and created their own tools and weapons to aid in the battle should the need arise. Danielle is the latest in this line. At first she resented the fact that she was a ranger, not willing to accept the responsibilities she wanted more to focus on her music In the end however her heart is in the right place, and she’s trying to make things right. When the Shinobi Rangers began to battle the Nonja her family began work on the Gold Ranger gear so she could join the battle. As The Starry Ninja the element of the void roars within her allowing her to strike enemies with bolts or blow them away with strong winds. In her down time she composes songs based on the noise and sounds of the battles. Face Claim: Jasmin Savoy Brown The different families each created their own Shinobi Zords over the years, however they each had a different idea for a theme. R- Shinobi Warrior Zord- A red humanoid who can use ninja skills in battle B- Shinobi Drago Zord- A blue dragon who can breathe flames Y- Shinobi Truck Zord- A yellow truck that can spread ninja traps W- Shinobi Hound Zord- A white dog that can spread chaos in battle P- Shinobi Train Zord- A pink train that speeds around in combat

These five unite to form the Shinobi Megazord

R- Sits in the torso and forms the head B/Y- Arms W/P- Legs

G- Shinobi Western Zord with Buffalo Buggy- A cyan humanoid that rides upon a buffalo styled buggy. These two can combine to form the Rodeo Megazord.

Both Megazords can become one and form the Shinobi Rodeo Megazord

By using their Ninpo to purify the demonic shurikens the team gains a set of auxiliary Shinobi Zords Shinobi Elephant Zord- An emerald elephant that can use its trunk to attack and combine with the Shinobi Megazord to form the Shinobi Elephant Megazord granting the megazord twin axes. The Elephant Shuriken also allows the Rangers to stretch their limbs to amazing lengths Shinobi Alien Zord- A navy UFO that attacks by manipulating gravity and can combine to form the Shinobi Alien Megazord. This megazord is armed with a powerful blaster. The Alien Shuriken can also be used by the Rangers to manipulate gravity as well Shinobi Submarine Zord- A purple submarine that can control waves and shoot missiles and can combine to form the Shinobi Surfer Megazord. This megazord rides a giant surfboard and can move at great speed. The Submarine Shuriken can be used by the Rangers to summon localized waves. In the aftermath of a difficult battle the Rangers are forced to flee and they stumble onto a fortress with a lion motif and take shelter within. While inside they discover the fortress is really the Shinobi Lion Fortress Zord and activate it. This zord can become the Shinobi Lion Megazord as well as combine with the other Megazords to form the Shinobi Superzord.

Within the Lion Fortress the Rangers find the True Ninpo Armor. This armor boosts a Ranger’s power tenfold. The True Ninpo Armor acts as a team Battilizer.

However as the Nonja army grew stronger the Rangers were forced to return to their homelands to find statues of ancient Shinobi Guardians. These statues bestowed new Zords onto the Rangers. The Shinobi Guardian Zords.

R- Shinobi Guardian Phoenix Zord- Statue found within a volcano B- Shinobi Guardian Drake Zord- Statue found within a cave on a cliff side Y- Shinobi Guardian Turtle Zord- Statue found within a cave on a beach W- Shinobi Guardian Tiger Zord- Statue found within the forest P- Shinobi Guardian Panda Zord- Statue found in a blizzard in the wastelands G- Shinobi Guardian Fish Zord- Statue found in a canyon

Shinobi Guardian Megazord: R- Head B/G- Arms Y- Chest W/P- Legs

The Shinobi Guardian Megazord can unite with the Shinobi Lion Megazord to form the Shinobi Ultrazord.

Ninpo- In the Power Rangers universe there are three types of ninja. Ninjor is a master of all three. 1. Ninjetti which uses the power of the users inner ninja beast (MMPR3/Aquitar) 2. Ninjitsu which uses the element the user is in harmony with (Ninja Storm) 3. Ninpo which uses the users own life force to perform incredible feats. However most people cannot use Ninpo too much without becoming weaker from the strain, the Shinobi Rangers use special Shurikens to balance this.

Power Rangers Rail Strike: One day one of the demonic shurikens hits the wreckage of a Shadowtrack train and turns it into a monster bent on reviving the fallen Darkness Emperor. It takes two teams of rangers to stop him. Ninja vs Ninja For years it was believed Ninjor was the only one of his kind. This is not true. There was once another, a red being known as Shinor. Where Ninjor was compassionate Shinor was cruel. Where Ninjor defended life Shinor destroyed it. Where Ninjor’s students were heroes Shinor’s students were the silent killers of legend. Eventually Ninjor had no choice but to seal Shinor within Shinor’s own temple and hide it from humanity. It was in this prison Shinor remained, until a man fleeing justice broke into the temple. This wicked man was tempted by Shinor’s promises of power and released him. Within moments Shinor betrayed the man and began his plan for revenge. He gathered enemies of the Ninja Rangers (Aquitar, Ninja Storm, and Shinobi Strike) leading to the three teams joining forces along with Ninjor to defeat the threat.

DEATH BATTLE Review: Leonardo vs. Jason

Many years ago, Leonardo was destined to do battle with Tommy Oliver, but instead did battle with Zitz… And today, we see him do battle with Jason Lee Scott.

Ground rules for this fight: No zords, no turtle-mechs, no teammates. Just a good old fashioned, 1v1 battle to the death.

Leonardo′s Preview.

Beneath the streets of New York, four ordinary turtles were mutated by contact with a strange mutagen, and were trained by a equally mutated Rat-Person who named them after Renaissance artists and trained them in ninjutsu. If that sounds like a parody… That’s because it is…

Regardless, these Genetically Altered Shinobi Terrapins were in need of a leader. Donatello was smart and technical but he wasn’t a strategist for battle, Raphael was too hotheaded, and Michelangelo… is Michelangelo.

So the true leader in blue was chose to lead the team. Though most just call him Leonardo.

Leonardo embodies Bushido. For those of you confused, don’t worry, Boomstick is too. For those of you who don’t understand why ninjas and samurais have a lot of beef, it’s because ninjas were literally made to fight samurais.

And they make a quick note: As there is no “definitive” version of Leonardo to choose from, anything that’s reasonable is fair game. As in, if at least two Leos can/have done it, it’s on the table.

So, no double-mutations, dragon transformations, or anything too out of the ordinary.

The hosts go over Leo’s mastery of martial arts, and his weapons. Essentially, the Ninjaken Swords are just Katanas without the curve. As well as multiple other ninja needs like smoke bombs, grapple guns, kunai and ninja stars, and the works.

And we lead into a Wiz and Boomstick animated segment where… I’m not sure why or how, but Boomstick’s smile looks… better? Maybe it has something to to do with the way the teeth are drawn.

(please ignore the typo. I was in a bit of a rush)

A mixture of both a joke and part of the analysis. I like it.

Leonardo knows how to heal with (a missed opportunity for a Boomstick joke) the ninja magic of self-healing. While not potent enough to fix fatal wounds, it’s still handy nonetheless.

The hosts also go over how Leonardo is fast enough to dodge lightning,

Push over this giant pillar onto a giant mutated cockroach

And was even able to hold back this mutated tyrannosaurs’ bite.

And across multiple timelines, he’s usually the one who deals the finishing blow to the Shredder.

While teen angst and immaturity can hold him back from his full potential, Leo’s one heckuva fighter.

Jason′s Preview.

After 10000 years of being trapped in a magic space dumpster, the evil witch Rita Repulsa was set to conquer earth. So the galactic sage Zordon recruited some overbearing and overemotional humans to defend Earth. And every team needs a leader. So enter the levelheaded martial arts teacher: Jason Lee Scott.

Jason draws power from the Morphin’ Grid, and i order to gain access to it, he just needs to shout out three words.

“It’s Morphin’ Time!”

With this power on his sai-aye-aye-aye-aye-ide

The hosts apparently deduce that the Morphin’ Grid takes the hits for Jason, as evidenced by the sparks.

And after going over the weapons, we go into our next Wiz and Boomstick segment.

And after going over the Power Sword and a whole lot of weapons, and some key weaknesses. Like the whole thing about how they can’t escalate a fight.

So the Power Blaster is off-limits if it’s not actually needed.

But Grid-Enhanced individuals are still strong in their own right. Like when Jason lifted this enormous boulder over his head.

Nice.

Other Grid-Enhanced feats include

Pushing over a boulder weighing in at about 125000 tons, dodging lightning for a bit, and surviving the Power Rangers’ command center exploding.

And while Jason does lose his powers when he takes too much damage, he’ll still be one heckuva fighter. Especially with the power on his si-i-i-i-i-ide!

The Battle Itself.

Luis and Zack are the main animators for this, Leonardo will be voiced by Jon Allen and Jason will be reprised by Alejandro Saab, Audio Lead by Chris Kokkinos, and soundtrack of Teenage Morphin’ Ninja Power by Therewolf. And before we get into it, I gotta say that that track name is awesome!

So the fight starts off with Jason trying to get somewhere while Leo is eating his pizza, and Jason runs into Leo.

Which causes…

The pizza to fall.

Leo calls him out on it, and Jason sees him as one of Rita’s monsters.

And after a quick scuffle, Jason morphs.

So we get into a quick stand-off, and we seriously get into another opportunity where the “Fight Byte” could come back. They don’t have to do it for all of them, they can just choose which ones they do want to use it for.

At least make it a ringtone.

So, right off the bat, Leo narrowly takes speed, as they seem to land an equal number of attacks on each other. But it’s also clear that Jason takes strength early on as well, as he basically shrugs off all of Leo’s attacks.

Jason summons his Power Sword, and we get into a really cool sword fight sequence. Not as cool as Sasuke vs. Hiei’s sword clash, but still cool nonetheless.

And after a quick scuffle, Jason shows off for a bit…

And Leo’s swords break.

Jason goes in for a Tyrannosaurus Charge, and we get a recreation of that scene from Johnny Cage vs. Captain Falcon when the other guy was just blown away from how cool the other guy is.

Leo retreats into the sewer after knocking a drain cover at Jason, and he recovers the damage that was done to him.

As well as getting his newer weapon.

So now we’re at a teleport spam, where Jason is trying to hit Leo, but Leo is just too quick to actually strike.

And once Jason does land a hit, Leo’s shell is stopping him

Leo teleports high up, and we go into our finishing blow in

What’s bonkers here is that Power Rangers have finally ended their losing streak! Woo!

Verdict + Explanation.

After some quick joking around with Boomstick, we get into the reason why Jason won. While Leo has dodged lightning more reliably and had better training, he was simply outclassed everywhere else.

And that training wouldn’t really be that much help because Jason’s morph gives him extra skills to work with. Call it cheating, but whatever. It’s Power Rangers.

Leo can reasonably scale to a Turtle Villain named Baron Draxum in terms of durability.

Now, the Barron survived this 12 ton explosion. Which is impressive, but not compared to Jason who survived the Command Center exploding. That blast was nearly 54 times greater than what Leo could scale to.

Strength was also in Jason’s favor too. While Leo could push over large stone pillars, Grid-Enhanced beings could push around 125000 ton boulders.

It wasn’t as one sided as it might seem though. Leo certainly was more skilled and was faster. If those were the only stats that mattered, that would have gotten him more wins. But Jason ultimately came out on top.

Overall impression.

Overall, this fight really does feel like an interesting episode. It’s definitely one of those “Playground Debates” that you probably would have had if you were a kid watching one or both of these shows.

The fight is interesting, and the dialogue is delightfully corny. The fight is certainly longer than Canary-Sindel, so it’s easier to soak in how each ability and stat stacks against the other. Like I said, speed was only a narrow win on Leo’s end, and it showed because he was able to dodge more easily, but it also showed that strength and durability was on Jason’s simply because he was able to tank any attack Leo threw at him no problem, and was able to basically shatter Leo’s weapons casually.

The soundtrack is awesome, and it definitely makes it feel like an 80s/90s nostalgia trip where your childhood tries to kill the other childhood.

8.7/10.

Next Time…

Well so much for Genos vs. Cyborg or War Machine vs... Uh… Huh. I guess War Machine is like how I view Dinobot. Not a whole lot of options for him that aren’t super shallow.

POWER RANGERS AU;

Ben and Iley are the first and only (at least in the beginning) ranger duo. Many people believe their third member, their yellow, died. But nope, it’s always been only those two. They are both perfectly happy with it just being the two of them. They fight so fluidly together they don’t need anyone else.

The ranger powers are based on mythological animals and elements. Ben is the red ranger of the pair. Their motiff is a werewolf, their element is fire, and their main weapon is a sword. Iley is the blue ranger of the two (though her palette is closer to cyan than the usual dark blue). Her motiff is a mermaid, her element is water, and her main weapon is a trident. This aesthetic set is extremely accurate to the au.

Their morphers are a combination of the Dino Thunder civilian bracelets [x/x], the Kyuranger Sieza Blaster [x/x/x], and the Mighty Morphin power coins [x/x]. When disguised the morphers become the bracelets, though in this case they do not have the large gems. Instead they simply have a slightly raised coloured band running horizontally on both ends and in the middle, in their ranger colours of course, with a thin black line on either side to set it apart from the silver base. If they need to morph they simply have to run their fingers over the bracelet, along the lines, and the coloured sections glowing before there’s a flash and the morpher changes to the Seiza Blaster based morpher. Instead of being colourful like the inspiration, the kids’ morphers are more monochrome - black, white and shades of grey. They hold onto the handle of the morpher and place a special golden coin in the depressed circle slot. These coins are connected to their motiffs. Ben’s has the image of a howling werewolf head carved into it, while Iley’s has a mermaid tail engraved on it. They have other coins that can help summon their weapons or their elements with different etched designs based on those things (a flame for Ben’s fire, a trident for Iley’s weapon), and over the course of their adventures they do find some supplementary coins that are of other mythological creatures - these coins gifting them new powers, battlizers, zords, etc.

Both kids are actually aliens. Ben is from a wolf-like species with fire powers, while Iley is from a fish slash mermaid like species with water powers. These attributes are one of the reasons the Morphing Grid chose them for these ranger powers.

The pair both had fairly terrible pasts. Ben’s home planet was destroyed by an evil galactic Queen. She sent her army to decimate the planet and they got taken in as a slave by these invaders, soon ending up as this Queen’s favoured pet. They managed to escape in a shuttle from her ship and crash landed on Earth. Iley had a similar experience where her home planet destroyed, though she was sent away in a pod a la superman. However she was picked up by a gang of Pirates and the cruel King of these mercenaries took a shine to her, keeping the mermaid alien for himself. She was able to escape in her pod and crashed on earth too. The two somehow end up finding each other and bond over being leisure slaves to horrible people with destroyed home planets. They then get chosen slash find this ranger power and end up protecting the Earth from being destroyed by a yet different set of invaders. Invaders that may perhaps be in the employ of that Queen and King who made their lives miserable.

Once the Earth has been saved the Morphing Grid sends the pair out into the galaxy as Ranger Bounty Hunters - but instead of killing people or bringing them in, they save lives by destroying monsters and the like. The Grid has to do this because since a new team will eventually likely come to Earth it would be too much strain on it to maintain multiple teams and colours. Plus there are other planets and people that need saving. Their morphers are upgraded to help with interstellar travel and the two set off in their new little ship built from Iley’s old pod and Ben’s escape shuttle. They don’t really have a real home but this ship, but then again they don’t need one. Their home is each other.

Their power and travel however their attracts evil wherever they go. Eventually they get chased down and dragged into a trap by a teamed up Queen and King. The pair refuse to be taken by these terrible rulers again so after a very hard fought fight both rangers overload their morphers and decimate the two rulers as well as their forces, but of course nearly die in the process. They are only saved by the Grid activating the distress beacon on their morphers and getting them help from a strange source.

The two rangers are nursed back to health and awaken to meet another ranger duo, both of whom are actually members of their ‘team’. Orianna and Missy are the ‘lost’ Gold and Silver rangers respectively. They had found their power on a different planet and protected that one before doing their own galactic travel. They received the distress call and immediately went to help their fellow rangers. Gold’s powers are based on a dragon, with the element of earth, and a hammer as a weapon. Silver is based on a phoenix, with the element of air, and a bow as a weapon. Ori is part of a reptilian race with earth powers, while Missy is part of a bird race with air powers. The two kids aren’t thrilled with the idea of teaming up at first, so used to doing things alone, but eventually the four will since they can help so many more people with the four of them.

While they were on Earth, the morphers can give the kids a glamour to make them look like normal humans and hide their alien appearance (something that can carry over when they travel to make them look like other species if they need to be sneaky or hide their strangeness). However when alone the kids much preferred to not bother, and sometimes they would just use clothes to hide their odd extras (such as hats for Ben’s ears and gloves for Iley’s scales).

*ALL ART DONE BY THE INCREDIBLE KISHIAKU! http://kishiaku.deviantart.com/ * This is one of my earliest original team ideas Power Rangers Martial Masters Five young people are training with a wise master named Dryon when their dojo is attacked by monstrous brutes known as Nuhs (think the Huns from Mulan but more evil looking) Dryon manages to lead them to a secret underground sanctum. He explains that many years ago an evil being known as Khan (think the bad guy from Mulan mixed with Tai Lung) tried to take over the world. He was sealed away but a recent earthquake released him and his army upon the world. Dryon gives them five medallions. Each representing a different style of Kung Fu. Using the medallions they become the Power Rangers Martial Masters! Red Snake Ranger- Coda Pivre (20 years old) Snake Staff Blue Tiger Ranger- Barbara Ginte (19 years old) Tiger Sai Green Monkey Ranger- Tina Kogu (20 years old) Monkey Nunchucks Black Mantis Ranger- Aaron Yrep (22 years old) Mantis Kusarigama Yellow Crane Ranger- Ray Racne (19 years old) Crane Tonfa Using his own medallion Dryon can become the White Dragon Ranger (own zord and everything) But due to injures sustained during the invasion of the Nuhs and his age he can only use the powers for short periods of time before it causes him pain. Power Rangers Thunder Chapter 2 The Mutiny part 2 Written by Justin Best

As Lord Zedd was laughing Finster, Squatt and Babboo teleported to the outside of the moon palace. Finster said cheerfully “We’re done my lord. The Dark Zords are finished and ready when you are”.

Lord smirked and said, “Excellent now to show my new Rangers the Zords they will use to conquer Earth”. Then Zedd fired a laser into the sky that turned into a screen showing various images.

Zedd then called out “Farkas Bulkmeier you will be the Red Dark Ranger with the power to control fire and wield the Dark Swords the Red Dragon Dark Zord is yours to command. Randall McCullens you will be the Green Dark Ranger with power of illusions your weapon will be the Dark Mace and the Green Lion Dark Zord shall be yours”

Zedd continued “Eugene Skullovich you shall become the Blue Dark Ranger with mastery over the forces of gravity and the power of the Dark Nunchcks you shall command the Blue Unicorn Dark Zord. Laurie Sanchez you are now the Yellow Dark Ranger with the power to manipulate time your weapon will be the Dark Whip and you shall pilot the Yellow Griffin Dark Zord

“And finally, Cindy O’Hanlon you shall be the Pink Dark Ranger able to control the power of wind your weapon will be the Dark Spear and you will have the power of the Pink Phoenix Dark Zord on your side. Not only that but each of you is equip with the Dark Daggers and Dark Sabers which can combine to form the Dark Blasters”.

Zedd continued “That’s not all you five can also combine your powers to create the Dark Energy Orb attack that can finish off any of you opponents. and when your Zords combine they can become the monstrous Dark Megazord the ultimate weapon of evil” Lord Zedd concluded.

Jason called out to the Dark Rangers “Don’t listen to him you guys”. Tommy agreed “Lord Zedd’s just using you. Once he destroys the world, he’ll destroy you too.” The Dark Rangers just laughed, and Randy said, “Yeah right Lord Zedd has promised us unlimited power once we destroy you and Angel Grove”.

Then Lord Zedd fired a beam at the Rangers’ forcefield and ordered “Now my Dark Ranger show these teenage has beens the true power of Lord Zedd and destroy them”. Bulk replied, “With pleasure my lord”. Then the Dark Rangers started punching and kicking at the former Rangers.

The former Rangers punched and kicked back to defend themselves. Billy called out to the Dark Rangers “Come on you guys you gotta fight it”. Zack agreed “Don’t let Lord Zedd control you”. Bulk retorted “Enough words nothing can save you now”.

The Dark Rangers and the former Dino Rangers kept fighting each other until Jason Billy and Zack flipped Bulk Randy and Skull over them, while Trini and Kim grabbed Laurie and Cindy by their arms and spun them around knocking all the Dark Rangers into each other.

Jason called out “Quick you guys the Morphers”. The other Rangers agreed, and they took the morphers off the Dark Rangers. “What are you doing give those back at once or I’ll crush you into moon dust” Zedd cried out while Tommy snuck up to him and took the dark power crystal causing the Dark Rangers to demorph.

Zedd cried out “No give that back at once. You fools have no idea what you’re doing”. Tommy retorted “We’re taking our powers back you creep”. Zack agreed you may have taken our Ranger powers”. Jason added “But you can’t take away why Zordon chose us in the first place”.

Zedd growled “Maybe not but I still have Zordon’s Command Center trapped in a electron field. Your misfit of a mentor can’t help you now”. Billy retorted “Maybe not but it’s our turn to help him”. Then the Rangers teleported away with Bulk and the others”.

The Rangers reappeared in Angel Grove and turned on their communicators. Jason called out “Zordon answer us. Are you and Alpha okay?”. Zordon replied “We are fine for the time being, but the electron field is rapidly compressing and soon it will destroy the Command Center and us within it”.

Jason asked, “We took Zedd’s dark power crystal will that be able to help?” Zordon replied “Perhaps if you were to throw it at the base of the forcefield it should short it out”. The Rangers agreed and teleported to the outside of the Command Center.

Trini cried out “Oh no”. Billy added “We don’t have much time the forcefield’s getting smaller”. The Rangers hurried over to the forcefield and Tommy threw the dark power crystal at the bottom of the forcefield with all his strength causing the field to dissipate and breaking the crystal into five pieces.

The Rangers cheered. Zack said, “All right”. Trini added “We did it”. Inside the Command Center Alpha cheered “They did it Zordon the Rangers destroyed the forcefield”. Zordon said “Ranger take the remains of the dark power crystal with you. There may still be chance to restore your powers”. The Rangers picked up the pieces of the dark power crystal and walked back inside the Command Center.

Inside Jason asked, “Is it true Zordon?”. Zack added “Yeah can you really restore our powers?”. Zordon answered “Yes but first we must summon Quagmire”. Then Quagmire appeared and said “Say my name and I appear now what brings Quagmire here?”

Zordon explained “Quagmire Lord Zedd has used magical candles and the dark power crystal to drain the Rangers’ powers and turn them into the evil Dark Ranger powers. The Rangers defeated Zedd’s Rangers, and took the dark power crystal but were forced to destroy to rescue myself and Alpha from Zedd’s electron field”

Zordon continued “So now we must perform the ritual the Eltarian purification ritual”. Quagmire agreed “Aye and to do it without a doubt you need my help to let you out”. Then Quagmire and Alpha pulled out their purple crystals and put them into the console which began the process of releasing Zordon.

Once Zordon was freed from his time warp Zack asked, “Wait the Eltarian purification ritual?”. Trini added “What’s that?”. Alpha explained “It’s and ancient Eltarian ritual that can be used to turn magic that has been corrupted into evil magic back into good magic, but it was requires large amounts of good magic to work”.

Billy replied, “So we can turn our powers back to good and use them again”. Quagmire agreed “Billy you are right. Together we’ll bring your powers back to light”. And with that everyone left the Command Center for the outside.

Once outside Zordon explained “Now Ranger we must all sit in a circle and begin meditating”. Kim asked “Meditate?”. Zordon explained yes we must focus on our positive qualities like courage, hope, justice, love, wisdom, and honor then we can feed them into the remains of the dark power crystal and turn them into a force of good magic”.

Tommy said, “We’ll we don’t have many other options”. The other Rangers agreed, and they began the process of meditation. Red energy came from Jason into the crystal shards followed by green energy from Zack, blue from Billy, yellow from Trini, pink from Kim, and white from Tommy, Zordon, and Quagmire.

Then clouds began to darken the sky over where they were meditating and thunder and lighting came from the clouds and struck the remains of the dark power crystal merging with the positive energy being created by the Rangers, Zordon, and Quagmire.

When the lighting cleared the Rangers opened their eyes, and where the remains of the dark power crystal were now there were five crystal orbs. One red, the others green blue yellow and pink. The orbs then flew to the Rangers. The red orb to Jason, and the others to Zack, Billy, Trini, and Kim.

The Rangers looked at the new power crystals as Zordon explained “Congratulations Rangers behold the Thunder power crystals. With them you will now be able to morph into the Thunder Power Rangers, now you can take the powers and weapons Zedd created for darkness and evil and us them for light and good”.

Billy said, “Far out”. Kim asked “But Zordon what about Tommy?”. Zordon explained “I’m afraid Tommy’s powers were diluted amongst the other Ranger powers to initially turn them into the Dark Ranger powers we must find another source of power for Tommy if he is to remain a Ranger”.

Tommy said “Aww man it was great while it lasted. I just wish there was something I could still do”. Jason assured “Him hey we found a way to bring back your powers before we’ll find a way to bring them back again”. Zordon said “Now Rangers we must return to the Command Center so that I may return to my time warp”, and with that the Rangers, and their allies walked back into the Command Center.

Back on the moon Zedd was furious. He yelled “So those meddlesome Rangers were able to take their powers back and convert them back to good. Well I guess I just have to send Pipebrain after them some more”. Pipebrain appeared in Angel Grove and said “Don’t worry my evilness. I crushed those Rangers once I can do it again”.

At the Command Center the alarms went off. The viewing globe once again showed Pipebrain rampaging Angel Grove. Kim said “Great not that tin head again”. Zordon replied “I’m afraid so Rangers. Now that you have taken back your powers Zedd is now more determined to destroy you and Angel Grove”.

Zordon added “He also sent another squadron of Z Putties to assist Pipebrain”. Zack said “Don’t worry Zordon we’ll cream those clay brains”. Jason agreed “You guys just finish reprogramming the zords”. Zordon replied “Good luck and may the power protect you” as the Rangers teleported off.

Back at the road rally Bulk and his friends woke up. Bulk said, “Did someone get the license on that truck”. Randy said “Man what happened”, Laurie agreed “Yeah I just remember a bunch of monsters, and some guy in some weird leather outfit”.

Skull added, “Yeah and I think the Rangers were there too bu they didn’t have their costumes” Cindy agreed “Yeah I remember now, but I don’t remember what they looked like”. Then Bulk had an idea “No but I remember what they sounded like. Maybe we can use that to find out who they really are and then we’ll be famous”. The other agreed cheerfully.

Meanwhile the Rangers appeared in Angel Grove. Pipebrain gloated “Well Rangers I guess you must really like losing because I’m going crush you even harder now”. Jason retorted “It’s you whose getting crushed lame brain”.

Pipebrain got angry and yelled “It’s Pipebrain you power pipsqueaks”. Then a swarm of Z Putties appeared and Pipebrain ordered “Z Putties destroy these rotten Rangers”. Then the Rangers, and The Z Putties began punching and kicking each other.

Zach did a hip-hop routine while punching, kicking and evading Z Putties. Billy and Kim did cartwheels to evade Z Putties and kick them. Trini used karate chops, and roundhouse kicks on the Z Putties. While Jason rammed into Z putties and knocked them into each other.

Pipebrain said “Well well you dealt with them now you have to deal with me”. Pipebrain then launched out more of his tentacles at the Rangers which grabbed onto them and lifted them up into the air. Then Pipebrain turned one of his tentacles into a pointed tip, and launched at the Rangers saying “This will really drive the point in”.

Jason called out “Come on you guys we got new powers lets use them”. The Rangers agreed, and they summoned their new morphers, and inserted the keys from the morphers on their left arms into the ones on their right arms.

Zack called out “Lion”, Kim called out “Phoenix”, Billy called out “Unicorn”, Trini called out “Grifiin”, and finally Jason called out “Dragon”. Then the Rangers were covered in red green blue yellow and pink light transforming them into the Thunder Rangers.

The Rangers caused Pipebrain’s tentacles to explode freeing them. The Rangers teleported and began posing. Jason called out “Red Thunder Ranger”. Zack called out “Green Thunder Ranger”, Billy called out “Blue Thunder Ranger”, Trini called out “Yellow Thunder Ranger”, and finally Kim called out “Pink Thunder Ranger”. Then the Rangers all called out together “Power Rangers Thunder”.

Pipebrain yelled out “So you think some fancy new costumes will help you beat me?”. Jason retorted “No but this will”. Then the Rangers leaped into action. Kim did a cartwheel and started punching and kicking some Z Putties before jumping on one and saying, “Take that you clay brains”.

Zack called out “Thunder staff” and summoned a red staff that he used to hit some Z putties that were swinging swords at him while saying, “Have a nice trip” as he launched one. Billy was punching and kicking some more Z Putties as he did a backflip and said, “You’re going to get a kick out of this”. While Trini called out “Thunder staff” and started hitting some other Z Putties with her Thunder staff.

At the moon palace Zedd was watching and yelled “So those Rangers defeated my putties like they were made from Play Doh. Well we’ll just see how they handle this”. Lord Zedd then teleported to Angel Grove and yelled “You think my monster are tough Rangers? How about this”.

Lord Zedd raised his arms and covered himself in green flames which then formed his red and silver muscle like suit. Zack called out “Oh man”. Billy added “He changed”. Zedd replied “Yes Rangers with the Power of dark magic I can summon my own suit of powered armor that is far more powerful than your pitiful suits”.

Jason retorted “We’ll see about that. You guys handle Zedd I’ll deal with Pipebrain”. The other Rangers said “Right” and summoned their Thunder staffs. Pipebrain then grabbed Jason with one of his tentacles and threw him.

Jason said, “All right you overgrown roto rooter I’m gonna make scrap out of you”. Pipebrain retorted “Bring it on Ranger”, and the two of them proceeded to punch and kick each other until Pipebrain struck Jason with one of his tentacles and launched him into some boxes.

Meanwhile Zedd summoned his silver Z staff and proceeded to hit the Rangers with it. Lord Zedd then gloated “Give up Rangers. You can’t possible stop me”. Zack retorted “Wanna bet” as the Rangers hit Zedd one at a time with their own staffs.

Jason got up and said, “Time to cut you down to size” as he summoned his Thunder dagger, and Thunder saber and slashed, and stabbed at Pipebrain. But Pipebrain grabbed Jason’s Thunder dagger, grabbed Jason with his tentacle, and threw Jason around.

Jason said “Gotta get my weapons back”. Then Jason put his hands together which caused the Thunder dagger, and Thunder saber to come back to him. Jason then freed himself by slicing Pipebrains tentacle.

Jason then said “You’re going to get a charge out of this” as lighting appeared and struck Pipebrain. Then Jason said, “How about a hot foot” and shot fire from his weapons that knocked back Pipebrain.

Zedd then fired lightning bolts from his staff that caused explosions around the Rangers. Zedd then gloated “What’s the matter Rangers can’t take the heat?”. Zack then retorted “All right Zedd you might hit hard but we’ll hit harder”.

Zack then called out “Illusion power” shooting out a green mist that covered Zedd. Zedd cried out “All right you bothersome Rangers come on out right now”. Then the Rangers came out and hit Zedd with their staffs but when Zedd hit back with his staff it was as if the Rangers didn’t exist. Zedd cried out “How this can’t be”.

Then Billy called out “Gravity power” and fired a whirlwind of blue energy that sent Zedd into the air. Zedd cried out “Get me down this instant”. Billy quipped “All right if you ask” and sent Zedd back down to Earth enough force to hurt him.

Next Trini said, “Time power”. Zedd called out “What are you going to do now?”. Then time started reversing to before Zack, and Billy hit him with their powers causing Zedd to once again be hit by the Rangers attacks.

Finally, Kim said, “Wind power” and a pink whirlwind appeared, and Kim quipped “This will blow you way Zedd” as the whirlwind threw Zedd with enough force to cause him to demorph. Lord Zedd got back up and cried out “Okay Rangers you may have beat me this time, but I’ll be back”, and teleported away.

The Rangers regrouped as Pipebrain started sparking as his eye, and the mouth on his tentacle opened releasing blue flames that materialized as the captured children. Jason cheered “All right Zordon we rescued the children from Pipebrain”.

At the moon palace Zedd was watching the Rangers and said “The Rangers haven’t defeated me yet” as he summoned another silver orb and threw it to Pipebrain who threw it on the ground and once again grew into a giant. Pipebrain kicked at the Rangers knocking them back and tried to hit them with his tentacle. Zack said, “Oh man this guy is tough”.

Zordon then said, “Jason we have finished reprogramming Zedd’s Dark Zords into the Thunder Zords use your Dragon Thunderzord to fight Pipebrain”. Jason pulled out his Thunder saber and yelled out Dragon Thunderzord Power”.

Just then a giant red robot dragon appeared in the sky. Jason said, “Oh man that’s awesome”. Zack agreed “Cool man”. Jason then combined his Thunder saber and Thunder dagger into his Thunder blaster and fired out an energy rope that tied to the Dragon Thunderzord pulling Jason onto it.

Jason called out “Okay Dragon Thunderzord it’s time trash this trophy” as he jumped into the cockpit. Pipebrain retorted “I’d like to see you try Ranger”. The Dragon Thunderzord flew around slashing Pipebrain with its claws.

Pipebrain mocked “Is that the best you got” then fired some lasers at the Red Dragon Thunderzord but the Dragon Thunderzord evaded it. Then the Dragon Thunderzord started breathing fire on Pipebrain. Zordon then said, “Jason your Thunderzord has a warrior mode use it”. Jason agreed “Convert to warrior mode”. The Dragon Thunderzord then folded itself transforming into a humanoid robot warrior.

Billy said, “That’s amazing”. Zack said, “Come on guys we got our own Thunderzords let’s use them”. Zack called out “Lion Thunderzord Power”, Kim said “Phoenix Thunderzord Power”, Billy yelled “Unicorn Thunderzord Power”, and finally Trini went “Griffin Thunderzord Power”

One by one a green robot lion, a pink robot phoenix, a blue robot unicorn, and a yellow robot griffin appeared. The Rangers formed their Thunder blasters and use them jump on the Thunderzords and jumped into their cockpits. The Rangers then called out “Thunderzord Assault team Power up”.

Jason called out “All right Pipebrain I’m going to pummel you. You second place prize”. Pipebrain retorted “You may have been lucky this far, but your luck has run out”. Zordon said “Jason when your Thunderzord is in warrior mode it can follow what ever movements you make”. Jason replied “All right time to try this out”.

The Dragon Thunderzord and Pipebrain then charged at each other and started punching and kicking each other. The Dragon Thunderzord started karate chopping Pipebrain as Jason yelled “Take that, and this and that”. Then the Dragon Thunderzord kicked Pipebrain knocking him on the ground.

Jason cheered “All right we got him”. Then Pipebrain’s eye opened back up, and he got up and mocked “That’s what you think Ranger” and wrapped the Dragon Thunderzord with his tentacle. Then Pipebrain mocked “Here’s something shocking” and put his hand to his tentacle electrocuting the Dragon Thunderzord

Jason then called out “It’s time for some Thunder staff power”. Then the Dragon Thunderzord summoned its Thunder staff and sliced Pipebrains tentacle freeing itself and knocking Pipebrain on the ground.

The Dragon Thunderzord then start slashing and stabbing Pipebrain with its Thunder Staff. Then the Dragon Thunderzord used its staff a pole to kick Pipebrain. Jason called out “Time to finish this”. The Dragon Thunderzord then spun its hand around so fast it caused the Thunder staff to charge with red energy. The Dragon Thunderzord then slashed at Pipebrain causing him to spark and explode.

The Rangers cheered as Jason said. “All right we got him”. On the moon Zedd was watching and retorted “That’s what you think Rangers. But let’s see how you do against a supercharged Pipebrain”. Lord Zedd then fired more electricity at the road rally trophy bringing it back to life as an already giant blue Pipebrain.

Billy called out “Oh no Zedd brought back Pipebrain”. Trini added “And he’s more powerful than ever”. Pipebrain then began rampaging across Angel Grove. Pipebrain then mocked “What are you Rangers doing to do now?”.

Zordon then said “Rangers now is the time to combine your Zords into the might Thunder Megazord”. The Rangers agreed “Right Thunder Megazord Power now”. Then the Thunderzords became armor that merged with the Dragon Thunderzord forming the Thunder Megazord.

Pipebrain mocked “Let’s see what you got Rangers”.Jason retorted “All right scrap face we will”. Then the Thunder Megazord and Pipebrain charged at each other and started punching each other. The Thunder Megazord then knocked down Pipebrain.

Jason called out “Okay guys it’s time for the Power Sword”. The other Rangers agreed “Right”. Then they all said, “Thunder Sword Power now”. Then the Thunder Megazord pulled out it’s sword and charged it with yellow energy. The Rangers called out “Take this” as the Thunder Megazord slashed Pipebrain causing him to glow and explode.

At the moon palace Zedd was furious he yelled out “You fools. You Miserable fools. I had the perfect plan to destroy the Rangers and you ruined it”. Zedd continued “Perhaps I should have just left that jar floating in space”

Squatt “Please oh Rotten one anything but that”. Babboo agreed “I’m sure we’ll get the Rangers next time”. Zedd screamed and said, “Who’s tentacle do I have to clip to get some halfway decent minions in this galaxy”.

At the Command Center Zordon said “Congratulations Rangers not only did you find a way to make your powers stronger than ever, but you have proven that even without your powers you are still warriors of justice and goodness”. Jason replied “Thanks Zordon”.

Zack asked, “Is there anyway to give Tommy some new powers”. Zordon replied “I’m afraid not Rangers at this time I’m afraid Tommy may never be a Ranger again”. Tommy replied “Hey it’s okay guys like Zordon said this whole experience taught us we didn’t need the cosmic power to be heroes”.

Tommy continued “Besides I guess the choice is made for me. I guess I’m going back to Crossworld City”. Jason said, “We’re going to miss you bro”. Tommy replied “Hey I’m going to miss you guys too. But hey we’ll still be friends, and maybe something will work out for me in Crossworld City”.

The Rangers then put their hands together and yelled “Power Rangers”. Then Zack said “Hey you guys the road rally’s still going. We gotta get back”. Tommy agreed “Yeah sorry Zordon we still have to finish that”. The Rangers then teleported off.

At the road rally the trophy returned to its original state in its original position as Principal Caplan said, “Oh well there it is”. Then the first team arrived at the finish line followed by more teams until finally the Rangers team appeared.

The Rangers pulled off their helmets as Zack said, “Aww man I can’t believe we lost”. Jason assured him “Hey if this taught us anything it’s that it doesn’t matter if you lose as long as you keep trying”. Billy agreed “You can say that again”.

Just then Bulk’s team appeared driving backwards. They took of their helmets as Bulk cheered “All right losers you’re looking at this year’s winners”. The Rangers laughed and Randy asked, “What’s so funny”. Zack replied you guys came in last”. Bulk and his friends realized what happened and screamed in despair.

Super Robot Wars US: A Broad Outline of Included Series

So, I had an idea. a “What if” if you will. “What if a Super Robot Wars series was made for international (American) Markets and actually sprung for the license of U.S. Series and recognizable works?”

Here is what I came up with, in a basic outline.

Phase 1: The Monsters

Before the story begins, the world has been under attack by monsters. For generations, monsters called Kaiju have periodically appeared and threatened the world. Many were killed or driven off, but some remain hidden across the world. Their existence spurred many military advancements including the creation of many mobile weapons. They could appear anywhere, and wreak all sorts of havoc, but some it seems could be reasoned with or were here for a reason. Sometimes the result of man’s hubris, other times because of natural processes. (Series: Godzilla, mix, but mainly from Godzilla X Mecahgodzilla /Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.)

But then something happened. 11 years ago, a new type of Kaiju appeared. these were more aggressive, more toxic, and glowed oddly. These were dubbed “Blue Kaiju” and the old style of monsters called “Red Kaiju”. Both were dangerous, but one odd thing seemed to hold true: Blue and Red Kaiju hated each other.

Still, the new Blue Kaiju posed an unparalleled threat, as they attacked more regularly and more devastatingly. Thus was born the Jaeger program. The Jaegers dwarfed normal mobile weapons, and could more readily take down Kaiju, at first. But they began coming faster than the Jaegers could be built and piloted. (Series: Pacific Rim)

Part 2: The Aliens

9 years ago, a mysterious alien vessel crashed to earth, landing on Macross Island. The three power blocks (The AEU, the Human Reform League, and the Union of Solar Energy) eventually decided to work together to restore the vessel and reap the benefits of its technology, in part for the Jaeger program, and in part as a backup. As things with the Kaiju got worse, the idea of escaping into space seemed a more promising option. So, to prepare for the eventual exploration of interstellar space, the Galaxy Garrison was founded. (Series: Super-Dimensional Fortress: Macross/Robotech series 1, Gundam OO, Voltron: The Legendary Defender)

But this was just the first incident. 2 years ago, another alien machine crashed on earth. Dubbed EL-01, the being hid and prepared for its eventual conquest of the earth, but its arrival had been preceded. First by a machine known as GaLeon from a distant world 5 years prior, warning some humans of his arrival and leaving a weapon to help fight it. (Series: King of Braves: GaoGaiGar)

Part 3: The Ancient Beings Revive

These disturbances have rippling effects across the solar system. On earth, Cybertronians stranded here thousands of years ago, stir once more and begin their war in secret among the humans. But with so many robots around, they do not remain so for long. (Series: Transformers)

But worse still, lunar construction workers find a large canister in a crater. Opening it, they unseal an ancient evil from prehistoric times who decides to celebrate her freedom by conquering the planet earth! In a world of science, her sorcery stands almost completely unopposed! Almost. (Series: Koyru Sentai Zyuranger/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers)

Part 4: The World Refused To Change

Despite these threats, the world power blocks still vie with each other for power and armed military companies like the Organization of the Zodiac or OZ ruthlessly fulfill their contracts, many of which include suppressing the fermenting revolutions on the space colonies. Behind the curtain, OZ and their allies in a sinister group dubbed AMALGAM work to take over the world for their own ends. (Series: New Mobile Report: Gundam Wing, Full Metal Panic!)

They find themselves opposed by a group with two names: one for planetary operations called Mithril, and one for space-born operations known as Celestial Being. Aside from countering the actions of OZ and AMALGAM, their overall goal is to bring about peace on earth. But they too are mere pawns of the Innovades, who seek to prepare the world for proper first contact with alien life.

Part 5: The Beginning

Despite their plans and schemes, they all fall short of the insights of the nefarious Doctor Hell. He knows at least one of the species coming to earth, the Myceneans, and he plans to unite the world under his iron-fisted rule to prepare them for the monsters from space. But he needs the secret of Photonic Power to truly have the edge. (Series: Shin Mazinger)

And at the same time, a guy from New Jersey managed to find a giant mech from the future in a junk pile. He gave it a hotrod makeover and is looking for things to do with it. (Series: MEGAS: XLR)

Series Notes: Godzilla is one of the last recruitable units in the game, but the player has access to Kiryu and later Mothra to help balance that. Godzilla’s ultimate move is “King of the Monsters” where he roars and calls forth every native-born earth monster to tear up his foes along with him. Yes, Godzilla can be used in Space, but his movement is severely curtailed. His final boss? King Ghidorah.

Pacific Rim allows players to save the older Jaeger pilots and may sneak into Pacific Rim II territory if the game can fit it in time-skip wise. Final Boss: Slattern (or the amalgam Kaiju from the PR II Trailer).

The Macross is the main ‘base’ for at least half the game and allows for a route split between earth and space several times due to Macross’ plot. Final Boss: Zentradi Home Base

Voltron recasts a lot of events to be in and around Earth as they come back to shore up earth’s defenses for the eventual Galra invasion. Second most durable unit in the game. Final Boss: Galra Mothership/Fleet, + Lotor’s Personal Robot. Thank goodness the Zendtadi and the Galra hate each other, and the other aliens are little better.

Gundam OO sets a lot of the human political movement along with Gundam Wing. The Gundams will show up to fight Kaiju, or defend the Macross from attack, but it’s not until later that they truly join with the other heroes. Amalgam and the Innovades HATE each other, as their purposes are diametrically opposed. It’s a silver lining in a bleak situation. Final Boss: Ribbons Almark, Tres Khushrenada (with Maybe Marimeia side story before later villains are taken down).

GaoGaiGar has the single most powerful attack in the game: The Goldion Crusher. Transformers initially don’t like the G-Stone based A.I.’s of the Green Planet, but most learn to accept them because they’re our heroes. THey’re less accepting of the Macros since it was one of their ship’s that was shot down and ... it and the other Macross ships are sometimes viewed like hollowed out corpses. It’s very dark. Final Boss are the 11 Sol Masters.

Transformers is based in part on G-1 continuity with bits from Animated and Armada thrown in -- because Optimus needs some upgrades if he’s gonna be of use in the long term. The main transformers I would tap for this would be Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, Ratchet, Arcee, Windblade, Grimlock, and maybe Omega Supreme and/or Metroplex. Final Boss: Unicron. Optimus gets the final attack of “The Light of the Matrix” because of course he does.

Full Metal Panic is there to justify all sorts of high school shenanigans. Every teenager in the group now goes to the same school and thus silliness ensues. These are the nimblest units aside from the Transformers, and the Lambda Driver is a great asset. Final Boss: Leonard Testarossa.

Power Rangers taps into the nostalgia but takes a more IDW Comic take on things, with the original’s light heart. The Player has the option of launching the rangers themselves as super speedy low damage units who can summon their individual zords, launch as their zords, or just go as the Megazord from the start and save space on the team. Final Boss: Lord Zedd

MEGAS XLR is totally a great choice for ‘viewpoint’ series if there is no OC. One neat thing is, after the last MEGAS level, the leader of the Glorft becomes an ally unit. Because between the grudging respect earned there, Lin Minmay’s voice, AND Innovation, the Glorft end their war on Humanity. Final Boss is Mirror Coop.

Shin Mazinger has been adapted multiple times by the games, so it’s an easy fit. I’d go a bit more into the ending so we can have Shin Great Mazinger, and have the final battle be against the Great General of Darkness.

But that’s my take on it.

Power Rangers Beast Morphers: Beast-X Megazord – 2019 Xmas Gift Guide

Would you believe that the Power Rangers series has been around for 26 year? Well, believe it, Power Rangers first appeared on our screen over 26 years ago and has built a solid fan base since and creating new ones with every new generation.

Power Ranger Beast Morphers is the latest in the series and started airing locally on DSTV since 26 September 2019. We had the opportunity to look at one of the toy ranges that is now available in store. Yes, I am lucky enough to look at the Beast-X Megazord.

The Beast-X Megazord stand 25cm tall and includes weapon accessories to better battle your enemies. The figure is made of good quality material with normal arm and leg manoeuvrability. The hands can also rotate in a 360 circle movement and lastly the head can rotate about 70 degrees. One fault I could find is that the back of a lot of the parts are empty, for instance, the sword is whole on the one side, but the other side is and indented shell. For more realistic appeal this could have been full moulds in the back and front.

Everyone has a favourite Power Ranger but morphing together as a team and forming the Beast-X Megazord is the next best step and the only toy that will beat this in the series is the Beast-X Ultrazord.

Series Outline

Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is a character design series/AU that aims to reimagine MMPR as an animated action/comedy series in the vein of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Justice League Action and Steven Universe, while combining elements of several incarnations of the team and larger Power Rangers lore.

The story is split into three "seasons" that would consist of short episodic adventures and longer, more story driven episodes that push forward an overarching plot. Each season would feature a different antagonist and grow the threat with each one as the Power Rangers get used to and grow into their role as superheroes.

Details all under the read more if you're interested!!

Season 1

Season 1 would feature Goldar, Squatt and Baboo as main antagonists, following themes of new friendships and the coming together of the team. The Rangers start the story mostly as strangers, but would become a close-knit group of friends by the end, willing to put their lives on the line for each other.

Introduced early on as supporting characters would be Grace and Tommy Oliver, a mother and her daughter. The two of them would serve as an in with the NASADA associated science team at Promethea Base and the non-Ranger civilians in Angel Grove.

The culmination of this development and personal focus episodes for each Ranger would be the summoning of their respective Power Weapon, ending the season with a fight against the newly released dark spirit of Rita Repulsa, who then takes possession of the team's friend Tommy Oliver, leading into Season 2.

Season 2

Season 2 would see the introduction of Zordon and focus on the Rangers' struggle against Rita as she uses Tommy's body to enact her evil, eventually claiming the missing Green Power Coin to become a Dark Green Ranger and wreak havoc with the Dragonzord.

During this, Zordon would pass on the story of his original chosen team, how he forged the Power Coins from a Zeo Crystal, as well as knowledge of the Zords.

The theme of this season would be maintaining bonds and being there for your friends when they need you, culminating in the Rangers being able to summon their Zords and combine into the Megazord to defeat the Dragonzord. A ground battle would then see them free Tommy from Rita's possession by appealing to her directly, allowing Tommy to break it and exorcise Rita from her body.

Rita's spirit would then use what little remaining power she had gathered to resurrect Lord Zedd. As a "reward", Zedd steals her essence to sustain himself, absorbing her and all knowledge of the Rangers she had attained from being in Tommy's body.

Having discovered the Rangers' identities toward the climax, as well as Tommy's new identity as the Green Ranger, Grace would resign from her position at NASADA. However, she would still pay visits to the now ruined and cordoned off Promethea Base to work on a project she'd managed to keep hidden...

Season 3

Season 3 would then pick up a few months later and start with a short mini-arc where the Rangers are joined by the Masked Rider from Edenoi, Prince Dex. His darker attitude and angsty brooding catches everyone's attention and admiration, but Tommy develops a sense of inferiority for a time, feeling replaced by the "cooler" new guy. Her friends are able to pull her out of it again by assuring her that she won't and can't be replaced, and they love her the way she is.

The second half of the Season would then see the Rangers' personal lives messed with from the shadows by Lord Zedd, who takes the form of a shadow influencing Angel Grove as he grows in strength. Their insecurities preyed on and their bonds tested, the Rangers will have to trust each other more than they've ever had to before to defeat the Evil Empire once and for all.

In the midst of this, it would be revealed that Zedd and Zordon are brothers. In a sense. Two halves of a single being, the Morphin Master, who was split in two when he came into contact with a powerful Zeo Crystal that had shattered. The same Crystal that Zordon forged the Power Coins from, while a seventh shard was laid into Zedd's staff. Zordon, a White Light representing Free Will, Creation and Light, chose to allow heroes to choose their own destinies and do good on their own terms, splitting his light spectrum into six colors to empower them. Zedd, a Dark Specter representing Control, Destruction and Darkness, controlled and pulled the strings behind those who would seek to do harm across the Universe, his followers establishing the Empire of Evil.

For a time following Dex's departure, the Rangers would be aided by a mysterious Phantom Ranger in some battles. This ally would be revealed to be Grace, using a self-made morpher she'd engineered from recovered alien tech to keep her daughter safe, putting her "leave the world saving to those who are actually qualified" in practice. Zedd, seizing the opportunity when presented, wrests the Phantom Morpher from Grace's grip and uses it to regain his physical body.

A final battle would see the Rangers combining the full spectrum of their powers to harness the Light as a team of White Rangers to destroy Zedd for good.

An epilogue would then see Zack, Jason and Trini graduate from Angel Grove High and moving on to College. Tommy, Billy and Kimberly recruit freshmen Adam, Rocky and Aisha as the new members of the team and continue the fight against evil as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Unplaced Story Arcs (little plots that would happen, but might not have a definitive place just yet, mix of funny bits and more character-driven bits)

Kim's parents get divorced, Trini supporting her and helping her through it with her own experience with her parents' separation. The girls go on a short trip to stay with Trini's dad for the weekend so Kim can get away from everything for a bit. She neglects to tell her parents and they naturally get super worried. Ends with Kim's parents assuring her that their separation doesn't change the fact that they love her. Kim and Trini are besties.

A loose Footloose parody episode where dancing is banned at AGHS, where Zack tries to get it unbanned by directly approaching Principal Caplan as the Black Ranger (which fails because he starts to unmorph in the middle of it, since he's trying to use his powers for personal gain) - eventually it's unbanned when the Rangers defeat Pumpkin Rapper at the school's Halloween Party by following Zack's lead and using Hip Hop Kido.

Tommy joins the Football team, but feels insecure and doesn't perform as well as she knows she can because she feels self conscious indulging in "masculine" interests as a trans girl. Zack assures her that she's not less of a girl for doing "guy" stuff and confides in her that he's a trans guy, he just hasn't been open about it since starting High School. The two of them wear trans flag colored face paint during a major game to support each other. And they win!

Jason somehow gets it in his head that Trini likes him (dumb teen stuff, maybe he reads a thing about girls laughing at your jokes when they like you and Trini laughs at him a little bit after so he goes OH she must like me :) ) and decides to ask her on dates because he thinks it'll make her happy, since she's been kinda gloomy lately. Wacky shenanigans happen where Trini thinks that he likes her and goes along with it so she doesn't hurt his feelings. Ends in Jason being the second person ever that Trini comes out as gay too, with the rest of the team following shortly after. Immediately they take the opportunity to tease her about her crush on Richie.

Tommy and Kim struggle to go on dates, always getting interrupted by Power Ranger business. For a second they consider just not dating until they've saved the world, but the others talk them out of it. Ends in them having a movie date where Tommy sets up a projector in the Command Center, but they do end up having to watch it with Zordon and Alpha.

Billy and Trini bonding episode!! Smart kids!! They realise that they're both struggling with classes the other does really well at and decide to help each other out, while Trini also helps Billy be more confident at fighting. Probably happens early on.

Jason and Zack give Billy the rundown on public High School, helping him get used to the whole deal and try to get him involved in some extra-curriculars. Funny bits where he's not good at Football, he's not good at Gymnastics (despite Kim's best efforts), he's good at Chess Club (but no one else is), he's too good at Shop, etc, etc. He ends up joining all the clubs the others are in, even if he isn't good at the activity, because they're his friends and he likes being around them regardless of what they do.

On this day: At 19th April of 1997, "Power Rangers Turbo" premiered on FOX Kids. "Power Rangers Turbo" is an American television series and the fifth season of the Power Rangers franchise. The show was prefaced with the franchise's second film, "Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie". As with its predecessors, "Power Rangers Turbo" is a based on one of the entries of the Super Sentai Series; in Turbo's case, the source of the series is Gekisou Sentai Carranger. The series introduced a child actor as the new Blue Ranger and featured the departure of the long running characters Zordon and Alpha 5, as well the veteran team of Rangers and introduced four new characters to take the place of the veteran Rangers. Continuing from the exciting events of "Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie", the five Turbo Rangers use their new powers, weapons and high-tech supercharged vehicles to battle evil at faster speeds than ever before! The beautiful yet vicious space pirate Divatox follows the Power Rangers to Angel Grove to get revenge for ruining her planned wedding to the volcanic island deity Maligore. From her mobile Subcraft armed to the gills with torpedoes and explosives and crewed by a motley bunch of monsters, she relentlessly pursues our heroes. But the Rangers are not alone in their fight, as they are aided by Dimitria, a wise sage and friend of Zordon; Alpha 6, an advanced robotic sidekick with a streetwise demeanor, the Blue Senturion, a robotic intergalactic traffic cop from the future; and the elusive Phantom Rangers, a one-man army whose very identity is a mystery. The season concludes on possibly the biggest downer ending of a season finale in Power Rangers history. Both of the team's Megazords are destroyed, their weapons are lost, the Command Center is blown up (again, but for good this time), and the Turbo powers vanish. The Rangers themselves are spared by a last minute summons for Divatox by the legendarily powerful Dark Specter, suggesting he is the greater scope villain behind all other enemies. Utterly defeated, the Rangers leave Justin behind and set off into outer space after Divatox, setting the stage for the next season, "Power Rangers in Space". This season is somewhat infamous among fans, mainly because its source material, Gekisou Sentai Carranger, was actually a parody of Super Sentai series. Despite this, the writers tried to give the season a serious tone in its first half, leading to jarring mood shifts when the stock footage was used. An episode will be delving into the drama of Zordon and Alpha leaving to Eltar and Tommy reading his Zords instruction manual in battle. Another polarizing point, the twelve-year-old Blue Ranger, cannot be blamed on Japanese footage. Though it must be said there was a precedent for Kid Rangers in Super Sentai; both Kiba Ranger (White MMPR/Dairanger White) and King Ranger (Zeo Gold/Ohranger King) were children. Power Rangers Wizard Warriors

The kingdom of Magi is a land of magic and sorcery ruled by the Burning King and the Frozen Queen (the royal insignia is a sun and a snowflake interlaced). About a decade ago the forces of dark magic calling themselves the followers of Noxorn, an ancient demonic beast destroyed long ago, attacked the kingdom and the King and Queen lead their forces into battle. During the battle the King vanished during a battle with a dark warrior. Despite the loss the Queen was able to drive off the invaders and returned home to mourn. Now the dark forces have returned and a dark warrior wearing armor similar to the fallen king calling himself the Dark Wolf challenges the queen to battle. She falls in battle while protecting five novice wizards but the five manage to get her to safety. The queen sees potential in them and gives them the Wizard morphers telling them they must protect the kingdom of Magi as the Power Rangers Wizard Warriors Flare of the Phoenix! Red Wizard Ranger!- Owen- He has an incredible amount of raw power however at first he lacked the focus leading to his power becoming a danger to himself and the other Rangers until he could properly focus it. - Armed with the Wizard Wand and Phoenix Sword Waves of the Mermaid! Blue Wizard Ranger!- Melanie- A kind and caring young woman who specializes in healing magic. She can help heal many wounds but more severe injuries such as broken bones take multiple spells and fatal wounds cannot be healed by most magic. - Armed with the Wizard Wand and Mermaid Trident Bolts of the Thunderbird! Yellow Wizard Ranger!- Dale- Out of the rangers he is the quickest physically and the fastest spell caster. He specializes in weather magic such as summoning or dissipating storms and calling forth the winds-Armed with the Wizard Wand and Thunderbird Crossbow Horns of the Minotaur! Green Wizard Ranger!- Ricky- The strongest of the rangers physically he prefers to spend his days reading. He specializes in nature based magic such as controlling plant life or speaking with animals-Armed with the Wizard Wand and Minotaur Ax Wings of the Fairy! Pink Wizard Ranger!- Angela- The youngest of the rangers she specializes in transformation magic such as illusions or shapeshifting. However she cannot use the unique powers of any being she shapeshifts into unless the powers are natural to its species -Armed with the Wizard Wand and Fairy Spear Mystic Mode- As the forces of darkness grew stronger Queen Petra sent the rangers on a quest to find even great magical power. After many trials they were tasked with gathering certain items without the use of their magic. The items were “A still burning ember from the nest of a phoenix. A scale from a mermaid, colorful as coral. A feather from a thunderbird still surging with power. A horn from a minotaur broken by battle. And the dust of a fairy filled with joy.” After gathering the items the rangers were deemed worthy of the title and power of Mystic. These upgrades grant incredible mystic powers. Shine of the Genie! Gold Wizard Ranger!- Jon- Suffering a fatal illness they searched the world for a cure before finding a genie’s lamp and making three wishes, the first was to save his life from the disease, the second was for the power to defend himself from a group of monsters who wanted the lamp, and the final wish was for the freedom of the genie. Out of gratitude the genie, named Felix, remains his friend and ally. Blizzard of the Frozen Queen! White Wizard Ranger!- Queen Petra- A wise and caring ruler. After her husband fell in battle she had to rule the Kingdom of Magi by herself in the assistance of her royal council. When the Dark Wolf stole her wand after their battle it severely limited her magical ability. One day everything changed when a troll sought sanctuary within the kingdom. He explained that many of his kind had felt oppressed within Magi and so joined the forces of darkness however under Noxorn’s followers they are treated like mindless soldiers, nothing but fodder. He tried to inspire others to leave the dark forces but was branded a traitor and nearly executed. He regrets raising his weapon against the kingdom and seeks sanctuary in return for information. He reveals the location of a dark fortress ruled by the Dark Wolf housing a single prisoner, King Christoph! The Burning King lives! Inferno of the Burning King! Crimson Wizard Ranger!- King Christoph- His brother Wolfgang was the dark warrior who kept him imprisoned to steal his power to get his revenge on his brother who he felt took everything he deserved. Wolfgang stole his power and even cast a spell over his horse binding it to him. After he defeated Queen Petra in battle, the cruel warrior lied to the king saying the queen had died of her wounds. Once the rangers freed him and told him the truth the enraged king engaged his brother in battle and retook his power as well as breaking the spell over his horse Requis revealing its true form as a majestic unicorn. After this he joined the fight against the forces of darkness alongside the rangers and his wife. After the Burning King returns to his throne the troll reveals that Noxorn’s followers have been gathering dark magic from across the world for some time for a single spell. He says that he witnessed magical rituals both ancient and profane within a dark sanctum. They intend to not only conquer Magi but the modern realm as He says that he witnessed magical rituals both ancient and profane within a dark sanctum. The spell will revive Noxorn and return him to his full power. Zord spell- “Spirituum Magicae! Venite Facti Raphaim!”- “Spirits of Magic! Let Us Become Giants!“- Turns the main Rangers into Warrior Zords and turns the King and Queen into giants. The five Warrior Zords combine to form the Wizard Megazord Red Phoenix Warrior Zord- A warrior armed with a burning sword- Forms the chest armor Blue Mermaid Warrior Zord- A mermaid armed with a trident, can swim in any depths- Forms the boots Yellow Thunderbird Warrior Zord- A thunderbird able to shoot bolts- Forms the wings Green Minotaur Warrior Zord- A giant minotaur armed with an axe- Forms the torso, arms, legs, head Pink Fairy Warrior Zord- A tiny fairy armed with blades- Forms the inner chest The Mermaid, Thunderbird, Minotaur, and Fairy can also unite into a mighty dragon. Shining Express Megazord- A megazord formed from a magic train owned by the Gold Ranger. Dark Centaur Megazord- Formed by the Dark Wolf combining with Requis in his dark form. Has two forms, a centaur and a warrior. Royal Centaur Megazord- Formed by the Burning King combining with Requis in his true form. Has a centaur form and a warrior form. Mystic Griffin Megazord- Formed by the combination of the Firebird and Lion Warrior Zords. Morphers- Wand Morphers, small hand held wands Morphing Call- “Spirituum Magicae! Talem Nobis/Me!”- “Spirits of Magic! Empower Us/Me!” Morphing- The ranger holds up their wand and their element (fire, water, lightning, etc) flows into them forming their suits. Patoranger v Lupinranger Rumor Report December 2

Guys! IT HAPPENED! WE FINALLY HAVE MECHA RUMORS!! WOOHOO!!

... and they’re complete nonsense. It’s interesting nonsense (is there even such a thing as boring nonsense?) but nonsense nonetheless. You can read that rumor over here and I’m going to try to make sense of it. Wish me luck.

Giant 1: I’m guessing this is talking about the button the rangers have to press on their morphers to summon their zords. Either that or PatorenIchigo’s zord is a humanoid robot. A “giant man” if you will. If that’s true, then CALLED IT!

Changing 3: Since I can’t figure out what kind of mecha “changing” could be (unless we have transforming zords again, oh please God yes) I’m guessing this is the button on the morpher used to transform, or maybe even combine the zords.

Spinning: Perhaps this is a helicopter zord? Or maybe this season has a spinning gimmick like Shinkenger.

Bang Bang: Maybe this is the sound effect the toy makes? Or perhaps it means the megazord’s primary weapon will be a gun?

Right Baba Baba Baba: I.... I don’t know. Is this an onomatopoeia for the sound a helicopter makes perhaps?

Left is 04, Blue Mecha: I... also don’t know. Maybe the blue zord forms the left arm or left leg? I don’t get the significance of 4 though. I thought each team was only going to have three members?

So yeah... definitely something to think about. Anyway, we also got two more rumors! One came from OXanium, which you can read here, and the other is from Dukemon again, and you can read it here. To summarize:

The changer is called the Dorobo Changer.

Lupinranger and Patoranger are actually the same team. The three rangers jump between dimensions that have been split by the villain. One is where the police fight against evil, and the other is where the police are corrupt and evil and it’s up to the phantom thieves to protect the innocent. They switch dimensions at their base and the team they transform into depends on the dimension.

Some of the suits will have a necktie design.

And as usual, here are my thoughts:

The Good

We have a Baba Baba Baba zord. At last.

YOOOOOOOO! Those story rumors are awesome! I can’t believe it never occurred to me that the Patos and Lupins could be the same team! I’ll be honest, I doubt that’s true (we never get story rumors before the meeting), but I REALLY hope it is!

The necktie design has the potential to look really silly, but Sentai has a good track record of taking things that should look horrible and making them look awesome. So I’m leaning towards them potentially being awesome for now.

The Bad

Um... gee I dunno... the... mecha rumors are a little confusing? I don’t know what a Dorobo is? That’s really all I got. This was a good one guys.

Dude, I am so hyped right now! The idea that the Patos and Lupins are just one team who change their identities in different dimensions is so cool! I REALLY hope that winds up being the case! That’s way more interesting than two rival teams, and it would explain why we have two trademarks.

OOH! Maybe each team will have the same mecha, but they switch into a different form (from vehicle to animal like in Go-Busters) depending on what dimension they’re in. And the megazord would have two different forms like in Timeranger/Time Force! EEEEEEEEEE!

Power Rangers Biotec Busters

(Note, this takes place during the time the Pirate Rangers are traveling the universe) After the invasion of Earth by the United Alliance of Evil in “In Space” the government decided they could no longer depend solely on the Power Rangers in case the day ever came when they were no longer there to defend the world. Many organizations and groups competed to get the contract to build the next generation of Ranger but ultimately it was given to Operation Lightspeed. One of the competitors was Global Biotec, GB was seeking to replicate the Ranger tech including Zords, teleportation, and weaponry. A bi-product of their research was a new form of fuel they dubbed “neo-en”. Furthermore they developed a new method of teleportation. By sending objects into a separate dimension dubbed “hyperspace” and pulling them out in a different location they could move objects long distances in a short amount of time. However this method was untested on living beings. After the news that Lightspeed won the contract Global Biotec decided to continue their research. However during a New Years Eve party tragedy struck when a computer virus infected the Neo-En storage tank and mutated. By the time the scientists attempted to stop it the virus (by this point calling itself the Savior virus) had infected all but a handful of the megazord prototypes. The head scientist made a decision to sacrifice the lives of the scientists in order to save the world from the Savior Virus. And so the lab and all inside were transported to Hyperspace. However three children present in the lab survived due to the actions of their scientist parents. These children were affected by the teleportation process in beneficial and detrimental ways. A trio of Biodroids also survived the incident and each of them befriended one of the children Years later the Savior Virus has managed to gather enough strength to send its forces to attack the world and gather Neo-En to gain more power. Only one team can stop this from happening. Power Rangers Biotec Busters! “Rangers Charge Up!”

Red Biotec Ranger Name: Hank Sinclair Age: 20 Personality: Hank is young and very quick to jump into action. He still has a lot to learn, but he knows he and his team are the last line of defense against the Savior Virus. To make up for his partner, Chet’s, lack of direction, Hank has a very good sense of direction and is responsible for guiding Chet in the right direction. When not fighting against the Savior Virus, he spends most of his time either taking long rides on Chet or drawing. Hank grew up with an older sister who raised him after their parents disappeared in the New Year’s lab incident. When he was given the chance to become Biotec Red, he jumped at the chance, wanting to continue his parents’ work and stop the Savior Virus once and for all. His power up is super speed, allowing him to move faster than the eye can see. If he panics, his body freezes up and he’s unable to move until his body relaxes. His Biodroid partner is Cheetbot or Chet for short, who can assume a motorcycle form and can also connect with the Cheetah Speeder to either form the Ace Solo Zord or remain in sports car form. Face Claim: Uriah Shelton

Blue Biotec Ranger Name: Peter Hawk Age: 25 Personality/Bio: Peter is the oldest of the team and feels responsible for Hank and Selena. Selena sees Peter as an older brother figure and Peter treats her like the little sister he never had. In the wake of the New Year’s lab incident, he was imbued with super strength as a power up, though it comes at a price, he loses control of himself if he overheats, becoming more brutal and sadistic in battle. Peter is Biotech Blue and his Biodroid partner is GorillaBot. GorillaBot cares immensely for Peter, seeing him as a son of sorts and worries when Peter goes into battle. GorillaBot can merge with the Gorilla Carrier and assume a truck form or his gorilla form. Face Claim: Brandon Routh

Yellow Biotec Ranger Name: Selena Harley Age: 18 Personality/Bio: Selena is the youngest of the Biotec Rangers. She views Peter as her big brother, but she sees Hank as someone who is too reckless, given his penchant for jumping right into the action. She worries about Hank and Peter, especially when Peter overheats, but she tries not to show her worry for Hank. When Peter overheats, she becomes scared of him, as she has no idea what he’s truly capable of while in his brutal and sadistic state. However, as his “little sister”, she is one of the only things that can bring Peter back to his senses, the other being Peter tiring himself out and passing out. As Biotech Yellow, her power up is the ability to leap to great heights. The drawback of her power up is that she must keep her energy up or she will collapse and be unable to move. Gold Biotec Ranger Name: James Crawford Age: 30 Personality/Bio: A scientist during the New Year’s lab incident, he locked himself in his lab when it was transported into Hyperspace. Unfortunately, James was unable to return in a physical body, so he sent an avatar of himself along with one of his greatest creations, Beetbot. With Beetbot, he is able to send another avatar should his current one get too damaged. James can morph into Biotech Gold and his zord is the Beetle Crane, which has the ability to transform into the Beetle Solo Zord. Face Claim: James Franco

Silver Biotec Ranger Name: Beetbot Personality/Bio: Beetbot is James’ Biodroid partner, created in order to fight alongside James and the other Biotec Busters. As such, Beetbot is the only Biodroid designed for direct combat and is the only Biodroid capable of morphing into a Ranger form. He is capable of sending new avatars of James from Hyperspace when the old ones become too damaged as he has the required markers to do so. With those markers, he can also summon both his and James’ respective zords. Beetbot can also produce a hologram to hide his Biodroid form when in public. This hologram is based on one of James’s coworkers who perished during the New Years incident. He is capable of morphing into Biotec Silver and his zord is the Stag Jet, which can combine with the Beetle Crane to form the Beetle Buster Megazord. His main personality flaw is that he has an ego the size of a Megazord.
