I saw a post saying “but the music festival trip was Sand and Ray’s thing!”

It literly isn’t! Like it’s a Sand thing. It is his dream and he would love to experience it with someone who he loves. (Ray is also in no way a replacement for Boeing)

People forget that this is not a first time love situation. Sand was a whole person before Ray and has had relationships before.

Ray is literally inviting himself for Sands dream. As it gives him something to look forward to and establish a sense that they are going to be together indefinite. But the Music festivals are not Rays dream, he even said “I don’t care about the bands as long as you are there.”

A lot of bls are first love or first relationship, having a innocent tint of them to have ‘never have done this before with anyone’. But Only Friends is not that, they have had relationships, sex, trauma and drama before.

I have this bulletproof trope, y'see. It's Beauty Breaks The Beast. It's even better when Beauty is actually a morally gray little fucker. This is why I fell head over heels for Beecher and Keller, back in the day. This is why VegasPete will forever have my heart. It's also why I attached SO quickly to BostonNick - because I could see the potential for this SO clearly.

Nick looked unflinchingly at the monster in the closet and opened his arms to it. He saw every bit of Boston, and he loved him not in spite of all of it, but because of all of it. He saw value in Boston that no one else had ever bothered to see, something other than Boston's body and the ways it could be used. And as with Vegas, that unflinching, unconditional acceptance - something that Boston has probably never had in a life of trying to fulfill his father's unreasonable expectations and being valued solely for sexual pleasure - is what cracked his defenses.

Because let me tell you, I had a real bad moment at the beginning of Nick's goodbye speech in this week's ep, listening to Mark and watching Neo's face. I sat there with the kind of growing dread I haven't felt since I watched Vegas Theerapanyakul tip a bowl of noodles onto a safehouse bedroom floor, sick at my certainty that Vegas was going to get Pete down on the floor and push his face into that mess again and ruin all the delicate work that had been done. I was certain Boston was going to say something cutting and mean and awful in an attempt to push Nick away. And then the way Neo's FACE and EYES changed when Nick talked about Boston's photography, and then again when Nick said he loved Boston, just the way he is, and I could breathe again. Because like I've said before, if you don't think acceptance, finally, is enough to tear someone open, well.

If Mark and Neo don't have their pick of roles after this, I'm going to riot.

I want to be very annoying here and point out the things that I was right about bc that's how I am

1. BOSTON ALSO ONLY NEEDS LOVE! he's not an evil mastermind, he has no superior complex, he's also just a human being with flaws and issues. When nick said he'll be a great photographer one day, I WAS IN TEARS! It just needs one person. One person who sees you the way you are. Who accepts you for who you are. Can't wait for next week.

2. Top is a dumb asshole and his behaviour rubs me the wrong way SO HARD. The way he needed to rub into mews face he took care of him and used his innocent moms to pull mew back in was disgusting UGH he's exactly the type of guy I absolutely DESPISE. The only thing I'm leaving him is that he didn't use the video, nonetheless my top hating heart is singing right now, poor little meowmoew couldn't sleep one second and immediately called a boytoy.

3. Look at ray blooming once someone is truly looking out for him. Why not be like that from the beginning, mew babes. I really hope he goes to rehab. (Also my sandray heart is still squealing, the way ray kissed sand on his cheek in the end was so full of love)
