Favourite time of year: Summer! Used to be autumn for years cos of the pretty colours and just the overall cosy vibes, but after living in england for so long I just crave the warmth and joy of summer year round lol

Comfort food: POTATOES! BOIL EM MASH EM STICK EM IN A STEW. (no but really growing up w coeliac my most staple carb is potatoes so theres just comfort to it. Though ill say pörkölt is up there too)

Do you collect something: so many random things. Rocks, shells, broken bits of ceramics and pottery, feathers, eggshells (like songbirds not chickens lol), dead insects if i happen to find any intact etc etc

Favourite drink: WATER! all i ever drink is water istg sksksk, but if i had to pick a non water beverage then hot chocolate or apple juice

Favourite song: this is evil so evil you cant make me pick just one T.T "barcelona" by george ezra or "sitting on the dock of the bay" by otis redding are definitely up there tho

I know most people won't post their failures on social media, but since I'm not most people, I'm posting mine... This past weekend I competed at the MK Strongman 2019, in Welkom, South Africa. This was the first time in a long time that I competed in the u90kg weight division and I can honestly say, I had fun. First event was a hand over hand truck pull for 15meters on a very uneven area, a few athletes struggled and the truck rolled back into some of the many dips in the ground, other athletes had the strength and momentum to pull through... Two days ago a family of 5 took a Louvre tour and their 11 year old girl had a question - why is this old man holding a gun? This is one of those things #oneofthosethings that make you happy to be a guide - fresh perspective and genuine, uninhibited curiosity our young (and sometimes old) tour goers give us. Our guide explained it was a book, not a gun (in itself a topic for a juicy discussion); next to the explanation that handguns of this shape didn’t yet exist in Europe of that time, it did indeed look like one. Nice Things; Good Things

A blatant canon divergence from Journey’s End where Donna just lets the metacrisis Doctor and Rose right back onto the TARDIS and then they all just go back to traveling together. Pretty soon after that, Jack gets added in and then it’s just the whole team enjoying themselves for once instead of having just endless tragedy for the sake of character building.

As the series goes on, it gets more and more polyamorous, but it’s set up so that each fic can be an acceptable stopping point so that anyone who isn’t on board can just hop off whenever they like and not have to deal with a bunch of unresolved cliffhangers.

Individual fics are carefully tagged (which makes for a hilariously long list of tags for the series, in case anyone is wondering.)

Recs (Galileo and Doctor Who)

I decided I would try to use Chrome browser to read through some of the Chinese fanfic in the Galileo tag. I have done before, but the language barrier is fierce, so I did it infrequently. I just went through all of the stories written by RiverFragrance recently and decided to put together a little recs list of those I enjoyed regardless of the fact that I'm probably missing some nuance.

I've also been reading shippy Doctor Who fanfic recently and encountered two very excellent, very different, stories for the pairing of Tenth Doctor/Donna Noble.

She’s still cloaked in impossible timelines, stitched together in nothing like order, but the sharp lines are less cutting. Uncomfortable, but not debilitating.

It hurts to look at her, but no more than staring at an overly bright light.

My comments: There's a ghost in the TARDIS. Gorgeously written, tangled, and so rewarding in that it fixes Donna’s fate in a very unique manner.

They gave in and kissed her fingertips. It was fine as long as they kept things compartmentalized. They had heaps of practice, after all.

It's rare that I find smut that is as detailed as this, and even rarer still that it manages to render kinks that I find very interesting to read -- marking, bondage, and dubcon -- in an elegant way that I love.
