My Personal Otome Game Route Rankings

This is mainly for my own entertainment to see if I notice any patterns with my favourite LIs.

Code: Realize

1. Count Saint-Germain

2. Arsene Lupin

3. Abraham Van Helsing

4. Victor Frankenstein

5. Impey Barbicane

It was extremely difficult to put numbers 2-4 in any sort of order and I could have easily favoured a different order. Saint-Germain was my absolute favourite from the minute he opened his eyes on his route and Impey's personality annoyed me greatly so these two found their places quickly. Lupin, Van Helsing and Fran all had a few things I didn't like but I enjoyed their routes from different points of views. This ranking is based on all three games.

Collar x Malice

1. Takeru Sasazuka

2. Aiji Yanagi

3. Kei Okazaki

4. Kageyuki Shiraishi

5. Mineo Enomoto

Again, Sasazuka was number one the minute I heard his voice and Enomoto annoyed me for the same reasons as Impey. Numbers 2-4 were very close competition and again, I could have put them in a different order. I loved Yanagi for the mature love and natural development, Okazaki for his yandere personality and Shiraishi for the plot. This ranking is based on the first game, Unlimited is on my list to play.

Piofiore

1. Yang

2. Henri Lambert

3. Dante Falzone

4. Nicola Francesca

5. Gilbert Redford

6. Orlok

I'm starting to notice a pattern of liking angst and trashy men. This ranking is based on both the first game and episodio 1926. Originally I didn't like Nicola much, but his 1926 is route was brilliant so he jumped up quite a bit. Orlok is a sweetie, but I guess I prefer my LIs a bit more mature. Yang and Henri were the crazy ones and I loved that, absolutely amazing characters. Yang's episodio 1926 route was brilliant. Also an honorary mention of Gilbert's, Oliver's and Orlok's potato conversation. I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe.

Cupid Parasite

1. Jupiter / Peter Flage

2. Raul Aconite

3. Ryuki F. Keisaiin

4. Shelby Snail

5. Allan Melville

6. Gill Lovecraft

This ranking is based on the first game (I believe there is a fandisc which hasn't been localised?). This game threw me for a loop because I ended up liking the guys I least expected to. When I started the game, I was interested in Allan and Shelby the most and hated Ryuki and Raul. But all went completely differently than I thought it would. Gill also made my list of most annoying LIs, I couldn't stand him.

Cafe Enchante

1. Kaoru Rindo

This was a difficult situation because I loved Misyr but hated the ending so much. I'm currently working on fixing it with a fanfic haha. Kaoru was a favourite with his mature personality and looks (might be because I turn 30 this year). Ignis had gore with a sweet ending and I loved it. I enjoyed Il's route but he was a bit too much of a cry baby for me. Canus had a lovely personality, but I couldn't quite warm up to him having no head.

Olympia Soiree

1. Yosuga

2. Riku

3. Akaza

4. Kuroba

5. Tokisada

6. Himuka

Seems like the crazy one is my favourite again. I love Yosuga and his route so much that I have played it at least five times. The dark themes of his route really appealed to me. I liked Riku for his character development and Akaza for the plot and his upstanding nature. Kuroba was interesting because of the social issues. I wasn't overly keen on Tokisada because of his cutesy demeanor, although it did get better towards the end of his route. Himuka just wasn't for me at all. He didn't really annoy me, but I couldn't form any connection.

I hope you don't mind me asking you this but have you ever thought of playing otome games from switch? games like Amnesia, Piofiore, Olympia Soiree, Café Enchante, Cupid Parasite, Birushana, etc. ?? they have beautiful and thoughtful MCs!

Thought? I WANT to play these games but too bad I don't own switch. But yeah, I can play it on a PC using an emulator. I downloaded Piofiore and played like 1 chapter of the prologue and didn't continue because I didn't have time(not that it was boring, it was very interesting). I've played the mobile version of Amnesia (only the prologue because you have to pay for playing the routes) and I've seen the anime (was quite boring!).

Cafe Enchante and Birushana are on my MUST PLAY LIST, but I haven't officially played them myself because...again, I have no time. But let me tell you, I sometimes watch playthroughs of these games on youtube. There is a youtube called dirili , who narrates the stories. I may not sit through the whole route but I listen to certain chapters of each game in the background when I'm doing something else. If you can count that as playing a game, then I've played:

Code realize - Lupin's route.

Collar x Malice - Little bit of Enamoto and Sasazuka

Period cube - Zain

Birushana - Tomomori (this asshole!), Noritsune (only that one scene where Tomomori and Shigehira dress Shana as a girl! I played that on loop!)

Reine des fleurs (one of the most visually pretty otome games I've ever seen! and there is also a blonde hair blue eyes guy!)

Now the ones I've actually played include:

Diabolik lovers (first two games)

Ozmafia

Sweet fuse

Love spell written in the stars.

Cinderella Phenomenon

Locked heart

Hakuouki 1st game(only a little bit of the prologue)

Most of the Ikemen series

Court of darkness (Mostly prince's path)

Then some very mediocre other games on mobile (these are those when I first started getting into otome games)

And yeah, I do think the MCs in these games are extremely beautiful. Even if some of them have long brown hair, at least they have a unique-looking hairstyle (for example Ichika from Collar x Malice) they wear beautiful-looking dresses (for example Cardia from Code realize and Shana from Birushana). They all still look very beautiful and actually looks like a main character of a game.

When we went to the northern area of Israel, we visited Dan, a large city where much archaeology has been done. It is amazing that one thing that has been uncovered is an altar and Temple that were probably used for idol worship for thousands of years.

Throughout the biblical story, the city of Dan has been prone to idolatry. When the Danites first moved into the area, they coerced a idolatrous priest to set up his graven images there as their gods (Judges 18:30). Later, Jereboam built a shrine with two golden calves to persuade the people to worship there, rather than in Jerusalem (1 Kings 12:26-30). Later Ahab and Jezebel were there, who established Baal worship in much of the northern tribes.

Nameless: The One Thing You Must Recall: Cheritz’s other traditional visual novel. If you liked Dandelion, you’ll probably love this even more. It’s got beautiful art and most definitely leans into a horror aspect (in both the bad endings and some routes!) sometimes while still having nice romance. Available on Steam.

Even If Tempest: this game IS on the Switch but I had to recommend it anyways, it’s the first one I thought of when you asked for dark fantasy! Another really beautiful game with some really fun gameplay mechanics and one of my absolute favorite MCs. I also really love all the boys in some way!

Nightshade: you can get this one on both the Switch and on Steam! Idk how much you’re into historical stories, but I’ll recommend it anyways because it’s one of my favorite games and it absolutely is angsty haha. It takes place right after Japan’s Sengoku period and it’s about shinobi (ninjas). Really pretty art, another one of my favorite MCs, and another game where I love most of the boys.

Olympia Soirée: so, this game has pretty detailed world-building and a lot of darker themes, so that’s the main reason for my recommendation. There are themes of misogyny and dubcon and noncon in it, so just a heads-up before you look into it more <3 But I personally enjoy it a lot and it’s another game that’s just beautiful art-wise (are you noticing a pattern here…). Available on the Switch.

Cafe Enchante: I haven’t played this game myself, but it has a reputation for two things: (1) allowing you to date mostly nonhuman characters, and (2) looking really sweet and cute but actually being an angst-fest. I don’t know how to rate it personally, but I thought I’d toss it your way anyways. Available on the Switch.

Hakuouki: a classic, you can get both games for super cheap on Steam. Another historical game, but with some fantasy elements thrown in as well.

Virche Evermore: this game comes out this fall, but I’m bringing it to your attention anyways because it is RIGHT up your alley, I think. It’s supposed to be a super dark fantasy/sci-fi game with a lot of heavy stuff in it, to the point that you have to play all the bad endings before you can play the good endings. The game wants you to feel bad haha. Available for the Switch.

Finally, if you liked Amnesia and you’re enjoying Piofiore, I’ll definitely also tell you about Piofiore 1926 and Amnesia Later x Crowd! Both of those games are for the Switch, and they’re great if you like the first two games. 1926 is a direct sequel to Piofiore with the same dark tone and a lot of the same themes, while Later x Crowd is a fandisc (game with additional fanservicey material haha) that does pick up where the first game left off, but it’s a lot fluffier? It can definitely be played like a sequel too. I enjoyed it a lot personally just because I love all the guys from Amnesia haha. So definitely check those out if you’re interested!

ANIMAL HOUSE # 13 「Towaki Sea x Yuki Daiya」

"TAKARAZUKA Animal House" is a programme where Takarasiennes go to the cafe and introduce their beloved pets. # 13 features Flower Troupe Towaki Sea and Yuki Daiya, along with Daiya’s pet hamster Blan-chan! They have a talk, as they pick five cards of different topics! This episode, Hitoko (Towaki) picked a card on “Their impressions of each other” and they talked about different stories about them. Daiya later picked a card of “Her favourite movie of Blan-chan”.

Note: This is a rough translation, it may have mistakes and may not be complete, please read it just for reference.

About the hamster:

Daiya: Hamster is Blan-chan or simplied Bu-chan (from the first character) because I got it when its "Paris in the Winter Fog” performance run and the stage was set in France and since [hamster] is pure white, "Blanc” is white in French, therefore "Blan".

Hitoko: I also have 2 cats at home. I thought over if I wanted a dog before, but now I think 2 cats are enough.

Daiya: I also wanted a dog before when I was in primary school but then I considered it may be a lot of work, to walk the dog and so on. But I have a parrot now also which can also repeat what I say!

Impressions of each other

(1) First impressions of each other

Hitoko: Daiya was my shinko role for “Haikara-san” but because that was cancelled, we didn’t get to talk much. But before that, it was one time when passed by the elevator hall and saw Daiya practising alone [for “Masquerade Hotel”]. After knowing that it was "Flower Troupe’s Yuki Daiya" her first impression was: oh Daiya is great at dancing!

Daiya: I was a Snow Troupe fan before Hito-san transferred to Flower Troupe so I did go to see Snow Troupe shows...but when Hito-san transferred to Flower Troupe, I was happy cause at that time [in Decmber 2019], the “Olympia” team, the “Masquerade Hotel” team, even Snow Troupe [for “Once Upon a Time in America] were all practising in Takarazuka, so I was able to talk to Hito-san! My first impression was: Hito-san was very charming, in terms of how she interacts with others and her vibe, I was just drawn to that charm!

(2) Nicknames Hitoko: Oh, right you started calling me Hito-san!

Daiya: Yes about that, actually since we were nearby there was a time where Hito-san and Seino-san were practising together... Hitoko: Oh, the Salome scene [in “Dance Olympia”]? Daiya: Yes, and we were just rehearsing on our own and we couldn’t talk to you because you guys are rehearsing, but I saw how you approached Seino-san and said, "Let’s get close and work well together" and I thought "Ah.... I want to speak to her soon...." and then later you told me "It’s ok for you to call me Hito-san" so I was very happy indeed, but sometimes still nervous to say it ... >< Hitoko: On the other hand, since everyone just calls you "Daiya", I was also worried if I should call you the same and in "Haikara-san” performance run I called you "Daiya-kun" but I later also went with calling you “Daiya”.

(3) Birthday presents Hitoko: My first Flower Troupe birthday was spent during "Haikara-san” performance run. Daiya made me a t-shirt and a tote bag as birthday presents. Now I still use that t-shirt and still put yoga mat into the tote bag when she goes warming up. Daiya: I’m so happy you’re loving the presents!

(After a little interruption of Blan-chan running on the wheel) Hitoko: I was also surprised because of course the performance cancellations happened [in "Haikara-san”] and later when I had another birthday, you knit my name on this blanket? and I thought "How did I influence this kid? Why is she making this amazing gift for me, why does she know how to do all this!?" I was surprised and happy. Daiya: Even though now we talked much more, before I wasn’t able to talk to you...because I didn’t have the courage to do so....but now there’s this programme and other opportunities that we can talk and be close to each other! Hitoko: I think it's alright if at first there's some distance, that we're not familiar with each other. At least it's getting better recently!

(4) Daiya’s memory of Hitoko

Daiya: The greatest memory is still "Haikara-san”! Even though it was a short time that we could talk or even didn't get to talk later, but I was thinking "If that was okay"... and feeling so nervous...

Hitoko: True, because that would be your first time taking on my role [in the Shinko]

Daiya: Because I love acting, and I would think a lot and be frustrated over some pain points, such as the awareness and feeling in acting, I felt that it's changed a lot.

Hitoko: I somehow also thought that after hearing my advice, it was memorable to me that you tried to make your characters stand out by thinking of what to preserve and what to change in your style of acting.

Summary: Amy Holland is Lucas North’s girlfriend of six months. Amy is aware of his job as an MI-5 agent and supports him. However, Lucas’ cousin, Raymond de Merville, has always loved Amy and uses their one night stand together as leverage for something more.

Amy had now been back in Coventry for around ten days, residing in her old bedroom. The walls had been re-painted; now beige, rather than the deep lilac she had always been used to. Her furniture had either been set for being sold online, or was now gracing the house somewhere. Her work transfer had been slightly delayed, giving her a few weeks to get accustomed to life back home before going into a new employment environment.

On the second Friday of being back home, Amy got herself prepared for a meal she had arranged with Lucas. He had invited her to spend time with him in town at a new Italian restaurant that had opened. Raymond had practically turned into a ghost. No communication. Nothing.

After stepping out of the shower, Amy styled her short hair, which was now growing fairly long in comparison to the medium-length pixie cut she had sported only six weeks ago. It annoyed her how quickly hair grew and how much maintenance short hair needed. She picked up her bottle of Olympia perfume by Paco Rabbane, the one fragrance that was Lucas' favourite on her. She remembered how just after their first official date and kiss, he had mentioned how it was the first thing he noticed upon their very first meeting at their local cafe - the scent of Olympia wafting from over his shoulder.

Amy stared at the bottle, wondering whether to put it on or not. Any kind of seduction or flirting was not on the list of intentions for the evening. She missed Lucas, more so every day. She missed waking up next to him whenever they stayed over at one of their flats. She missed the comfort, the warmth, the intimacy. She missed the trust she had in him. For those six months, Lucas had been her life.

Lucas arrived promptly at seven outside Amy's house, and walked up to the front door, only to see it open and her beautiful face appear before him. She looked up at him and blushed, subconsciously brushing a loose piece of hair behind her ear. It took him back to their first date together; she had been nervous, flushed in her face, and stuttered a little. He looked upon the frilly white blouse she was wearing, which accented her generous breasts perfectly.

Amy couldn't help but feel her gut curl at the sight of Lucas. He was wearing a navy blue shirt and black over jacket; comfort with a slight hint of sophistication. She smelt his cologne, fresh with a touch of sandalwood. Was that the one she had brought him for Christmas?

"How have you been? Did you travel up today?" Amy asked, as both of them walked down the front garden path towards Lucas' car, a black BMW.

"Yeah, I got up here early afternoon and I've booked into a hotel overnight," he replied. "The Hilton just a few miles away."

Their conversation continued on as they got in the car and Lucas pulled away from the kerb and took off into town. They mused over each other's day, commented on the terrible weather that afternoon, and then the conversation dropped a little.

Amy looked at Lucas' hand which was propped against the gearstick. She wanted that hand to touch her, caress her. It made her think on their lovemaking. Tender, loving. Lucas always took his time, nothing rushed. That hand had been acquainted with her many times.

"I....I've missed you," Amy said.

Lucas was just pulling into the restaurant car park as she spoke those words. He switched off the ignition and rested back in his seat, then looked over at her sat beside him. Her perfume. It made him smile and his heart fluttered in his chest. "I love you." His voice cracked slightly as he spoke. "Being away from you has..."

"Shhh," Amy cooed, taking his hand. "It's okay. I know it's been hard. I just can't forgive myself for what's happened."

"Things take time. Sometimes forgiving yourself is harder than forgiving others."

"That's definitely true."

Raymond waited outside the restaurant, after following Lucas' car. The tracker he had got hold of had worked like magic. Now the terrible wait came.

Over two hours before he finally saw Lucas and Amy re-appear. She was now holding on to Lucas' arm, smiling, and looking a lot more comfortable in comparison to when she went in.

Raymond waited a few minutes, allowing Lucas to leave. Then he looked down at his phone, tracing the red circle along the winding roads.

By the time Raymond found the destination of Lucas, he growled. It was paid parking only. The Hilton customer car park. However, he was able to catch sight of Lucas and Amy walking in through the main front entrance of the hotel, before he was forced to take his car down a back street to park.

On his phone, Raymond looked through the data which was held on Lucas' car. He had stopped briefly for a few minutes, at seven exactly, in a residential area. This must have been where he had picked Amy up from.

Amy woke the next morning, lying next to Lucas. He was still asleep, his dark eyelashes fluttering. He seemed at peace, unlike many nights when she had woke up with him after a nightmare. She shifted a little in the bed, and looked over at the bedside clock. 6:30.

"Morning, you," Lucas whispered, waking from his slumber. He smiled upon seeing her. For a brief second, he felt as if he were in a dream, not quite yet back in reality.

"Morning, love," Amy replied. She moved in and placed a kiss against his lips, listening to him groan.

The night previous had been murder for him. He knew that Amy was holding back. There had been the odd touch of hands, holding of arms, but no more contact than that. Even though they were lying next to each other, having slept in the same bed, no physical intimacy had occurred.

The kiss grew deeper, more needing, more wanting. Amy slid over Lucas, straddling him. She laced a hand in his, and felt him grip it. Her hips began to grind against his, and immediately she could feel his erection pressing on her. That sensation of his arousal pulled her out of the trance which had overcome her. "I'm sorry," she whimpered, and pulled herself off him and away.

Raymond waited for Amy that afternoon. He'd followed her from her home address, having parked outside, in the general vicinity that his phone app had given him from the data against Lucas' car.

He knew she'd stayed the night with Lucas. Then she'd been dropped off by Lucas at around midday.

The shopping centre where Amy had disappeared to was fairly busy, but nothing like London. Raymond kept his distance, remaining in shops adjacent to her and then let himself slip behind people, using the crowds as cover.

Amy sat down in a Costa coffee shop and picked up a Frappuccino. The feeling of being watched had been sitting in her gut all day, and she couldn't shake it. When finally her suspicions were confirmed. She caught sight of Raymond walking past the very front of the building, pretending to be focusing on whatever was in front of him. He was wearing dark aviator sunglasses. But she could tell that profile anywhere, paired with the short dark hair and grey peppering his temples.

Amy grabbed her phone and rang Raymond.

"Aim?" he answered.

"Get your arse in Costa, Ray. I know you're following me. You literally walked past the window a minute ago."

The call ended abruptly, and within thirty seconds, Raymond came into the shop. He approached her, removed his glasses and sat down opposite her.

"Why are you following me? Normal people just pick up the phone and call."

"As if you'd listen to me," Raymond hissed.

Amy leaned across the table, her eyes wide in frustration. "What the fuck do you want from me? If you're expecting me to give up on Lucas completely just for you, then you're pretty delusional."

"I'm aware you've already jumped back into bed with Lucas. Doesn't take you long."

"You are absolutely foul," Amy growled. "Just when I thought you were actually a decent person deep down, and I found myself feeling sorry for you and wanted to stay friends with you. You swing back and forth so quickly. You were definitely right when you said you're stupid."

Raymond stared at Amy. "I thought you needed time?"

"Ray. Please, see sense here. I was with Lucas for six months, so there's a lot of feeling and love there. You can't expect me to throw all of that away for you. You need to give up on me. Go and find someone else. There are plenty of people..."

"No," Raymond said simply.

"No, what? Love is never easy. We all know that. You can't just have what you want all the time. Haven't you learned that?"

"There was something between us."

Raymond eyes were still burning into Amy's gaze.

"There was something, and I regret every day that I acted on it. Lucas deserves so much better. But he can forgive in a way that I'm sure neither of us can. Could you have forgiven me if I'd have been with you and cheated on you with Lucas?"

Raymond remained silent, his jaw clenched.

"I didn't think so. And to make things clear, nothing happened between me and Lucas last night. Not that it's really any of your business. But I'm not like that; I've hurt him enough, and I want things to be right this time."

"I won't give up on you," Raymond spat.

Amy rolled her eyes. "For God sake, Ray. You can't rely on me. I'm willing to be there for you as a friend, but nothing more."

Every Minute

It was a nice spring day.

After clothes and grocery shopping, Neil and Belle were at a cafe having lunch.

“The pies are so good here…” mused Neil as he sipped his tea. “Made from scratch, and local. Makes me glad we fight monsters on a daily basis to keep in shape.”

Belle smiled, and placed her fork back on her salad plate.

Neil leaned into his hand as his elbow rest on the table. It was a surprise to himself, but he had feelings for someone. And that person was right in front of him.

Sure, he would flirt with a couple of girls, though they just seemed boring.

Belle was kind. Brave, insightful. Sure, he would still love himself at the end of the day, though what if he made a mistake like he made the last time he was on a date?

Though he knew that Belle was a person who would never give up on him.

“So I’m practicing with Pegasus and Apollo tomorrow, and guess who I’m sharing the gym with,” began Belle. “Archie.”

Neil knew how they both didn’t get along. Archie could get crass with the people around him, but being with the guys, Neil knew Archie didn’t mean to be full on mean.

She leaned into her hand. “Ever since I came here, he always knows exactly what to say to ruin my day.”

“Hopefully, there are others here who make New Olympia feel like home for you,” said Neil.

He hoped one of the people was him.

“Oh yeah,” began Belle. “Jay being the leader makes sure we all are connected. Herry, a bit dim, but means well… Odie rambles on and on, but at least he helps us out in a lot of ways.”

Anyone could get lost in Odie’s explanations.

“Atlanta and Theresa are amazing,” she continued. “Atlanta’s trying to make me go on a vegetarian diet, what with us being around animals all the time, and I can see that… Theresa and I being distant cousins, I’m so glad we get along. It’s like I had family here all this time.”

He smiled. Despite how complicated mythological Greek family trees could be, at least Belle didn’t have to be alone.

“And how about me?”

Belle looked at him. “Hm?”

“How would you describe me?”

May they be good words.

He didn’t wait and just went on himself. “Amazing, charming? The greatest guy you’ve ever came across?”

“Gay.”

His eyes widen. It was like the world came to a complete halt. Him, gay?

The person he liked thought he was gay.

“G-Gay?”

Belle shook her head. “I mean, I didn’t mean to sound offensive, and it’s totally fine if you are gay, and I totally support you.”

There goes the rest of the day. They went shopping for clothes and groceries, having a nice lunch, and it ended up like this.

“I mean, you love no one but yourself, but you do kind of give off that vibe of not exactly liking girls. The modelling, the make up, how you always dress better than the rest of the guys. Sorry…”

It was like he was fading out of existence. Being a descendant of Narcissus, of course he’d be in love with himself and how he looked.

Though Belle did have a point, and ever since being with the team, they said the same thing in common.

Neil wasn’t a typical guy’s guy.

He wasn’t tough like Herry, nor assertive like Archie. Jay’s confidence brought everyone together.

If he did come across as gay, his chances with Belle were out of the door.

Gentlemen always paid for the lady, not that this was a date. “I’ll go get the bill, then…”

In a way, if she picked up the sign, paying for her lunch showed her that he was definitely not gay.

Lunch was a total let down, but even though there was a chance that Belle didn’t see him as more than a friend, he’d take his time with her. She was worth the wait.

She was worth every minute.
