A cup of sake - I

Okada Nizou x Fem!Reader

@higuramas here it is 🤭
Good evening! As you may know, I recently ended up watching Benizakura and felt the need to write about Nizou! So here is what I came up with! It's around seven parts, it's pretty much there to feel good!
It took place before the anime/manga, but maybe I'll have two others parts following Benizakura's events.
Please drink in moderation ~
You were working in your forge, as usual. Nothing existed but the loud and violent sound of the hammer hitting the piece of metal you were firmly holding. Your arms’ muscles were screaming because of the violent pressure you imposed on them, however, you were so focused that you totally ignored it. A headband held the sweat on your forehead but it was already to its limit. Some drops even started to trickle on your nose and then on your work.
You kept hammering anyway until you were satisfied and finally threw the hot metal in a cold tank of water. You looked totally dishevelled, your clothes were loose, and soak with sweat, while your short hair was a mess of a dead braid. You took off your headband and looked out for a bottle of water. The room was still hot because of the fire, so you figured that you would go take a breather outside.
It was only then that you noticed that you were not alone. A man was standing casually in the opening of the room. He had his arms crossed, while he seemed to look in your direction behind his sunglasses. Wearing those kinds of accessories indoors made you frown but you were not the kind to criticise others’ clothing choices.
“Impressive”, he commented with slow pacing.
“Thank you I guess”, you shrugged. “Do you need something?”
You were a bit wary, after all, you were living away from the city, and that area was known to be the centre of all kinds of bad people and deals. You were obviously a part of the shady ones, but it only made you warier of strangers.
“I heard a good blacksmith works around here, and I found myself in need of some… care for my sword.”
He put a hand on his katana’s handle and you came closer to try and take a look.
“I’m a blacksmith, a good one that I don’t know, but if you show me your sword, I can most certainly do something about it”.
“Then…”
He skillfully took it out and extended it to you without any hesitation.  His face was looking your way, and you started to feel uneasy from not being able to see his eyes behind his sunglasses. You had survived living here thanks to your obstination but mainly because you were a good judge of character. However, you were the one with the sword, for now, so you focused on it. Instantly you forgot about everything else, almost not breathing. It was not a great piece, the blade was quite common, and it had been really mistreated. From the deterioration you could easily tell that it was not used for decoration, that weapon had killed many. But the worst part was that it never had been tented.
“It’s always the same”, you cringed.
“What is?” He sounded curious and you raised your head.
Something was a bit off, his face was not exactly turned in your direction, but he was still talking directly to you.
“Every time I get to take care of a sword, I get a weapon so mistreated that it could break at any moment. It’s not that complicated to take care of it daily to prevent decay. You see there?”
He bent toward you, his face close to yours and took off his sunglasses showing his closed eyes.
“It won’t be possible for me to look at anything”, he commented with a smirk.
“Oh.” You felt a bit bad for not having noticed it sooner, but the man was behaving as if he could see as well as you. “I’m sorry”, you mumbled. “Anyway, you can feel it with your fingers too”, you grabbed his hand without hesitation and deftly made him touch it.
The blade was bruised at many places, preventing it from slicing accordingly, which was certainly why he had come to see you in the first place.
“Your blade is as good as a butter knife now, even I can’t do shit to save it. I mean I could, but the sword would break after two or three rough clashes”, you explained. “If you do not want to buy a new sword every month you need to go see a blacksmith more regularly, especially if you use it often.”
“You appear to know your subject”, he nodded, feeling what you were talking about under his fingers.
He had been taken aback by your promptness, it was not often that someone would grab his hand without hesitation like that. And even if your hand was nothing close to soft, it had been made callous from your line of work, he still appreciated the touch.
“Or at least you know how to sell your swords”', he chuckled. “Show me what you have.”
You laughed lightly too, it was true that you never hesitated to sell your swords when a dumb stranger would come here and wanted your best works. But you knew better than to try to do so with that man. The fact that he had no problem talking, and moving in accordance with you despite his blindness was already an achievement, and you could also feel that he was strong.
“Wait for me.”
You went to your storage where you put your best work. You always had some blades on display in the front of the house, but they were only for the ignorants. You hesitated for a bit, before choosing two of your best. It was silly, especially for someone that wanted to be unyielding like you, but you felt slightly bad for not noticing his blindness.
“Take those, here.”
You led him to the yard behind the house. He simply nodded and tried them, two times each. His swings were enough to give you goosebumps, and you immediately understood that he was a killer. There was no embellishment or show in his way, he was always striking for the kill.
“I will take this one”, he decided, extending the shirasaya one. “How much?”
It was one of the first you had made, it made your heart squeeze but it was too late to change your mind.
“If you promised to come to make a check every month I will ask you only half her price”, you offered.
“Her?”
“Yeah she’s my second born”, you explained without hesitation. “Her name is Yuugure”.
It was not really original since you had named her like this because of the time you had finished it. The man promised and gave you the money you asked for.
“Let's drink, now”, you said.
He raised his eyebrows, you were full of quirks like that, you already knew it, so his surprise was not out of place.
“It's only for the buyers of my best swords, it's an old thing I learned when I was young, something like you can't lie over a cup of sake.”
He scoffed again while you went to take a bottle hidden on one of the shelves around the main room. The ground level was dedicated to the forge so it was a mess only you could use, and you lived on the first floor. Even if you often ended up falling asleep on the floor as soon as you finished your work. Anyway, you found the bottle you had in mind and came back to your buyer.
“So what’s your name?” You asked him after pouring him a cup.
“I’m Okada Nizou”, he introduced himself.
You extended him his cup, he had to hear the sound of your movement because he raised his hands at the same time. Seeing it, you simply brushed it to indicate to him where the cup was, and he easily grabbed it.
“I’m Y/N by the way, do not forget to come here once per month, or I will look for you”, you commanded before drinking the alcohol in one sip.
You had chosen your best bottle, it was not every day you sold one of your babies, and the good taste helped you make your peace with it. You saw Nizou drink it in one go like you, and you thought that maybe he will respect your wish.
When he left with his new acquisition, the blind man felt satisfied. He had bought a decent weapon for not much. Furthermore, he could not take his mind off you. You totally conformed with the people living around here, you were hard and rough, but there was something else. He had the time to look at you while you were working before you noticed him. But your light was something else from what he was used to seeing. He wondered how bright it would shine if he killed you.

A cup of sake - II
First part - Table of contents
Okada Nizou x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Hello! I'm here with a longer part :3 Hope you'll enjoy reading it!
As unexpected as it was, Nizou turned out to be true to his words. You surprisingly found him on your doorstep around one month later.
When he stepped again into your forge, the assassin felt conflicted. The sword was far better than what he was used to. Usually, he would just go with any katana he could find, since his skills were so great that he had not to be bothered by the state of his weapon. However, he had to admit that he had felt a difference in power with this one. It was as if it reacted before he moved, guessing his thoughts before his muscles. And the sensation was truly superb.
But when he saw your light again, he wondered about what he was going to do. Even if you smelt like steel and fire with only a hint of blood, it was obvious you could not even put up a good fight against him. On one hand he was curious about how you could shine, while on the other hand he needed you to take care of his sword.
“You kept your words, I’m amazed”, he heard you praise him.
“It's not possible to lie over a cup of sake, isn’t it?” he dragged the last word and you scoffed.
“Yeah, that’s true. Do you have work for me then?”
He heard you come closer, he automatically took his sword out of his belt, but when he started to draw it from his sheath, he stopped, the blade half outside. Could he kill you now? He had already killed so many so one more would not change anything. He was really curious, craving to see how you would shine under his weapon…
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his.
“If you want to fight me, I can oblige you, but let me tend to my creation first”, you asked with a determined voice. “I already let down my child once, I don’t want to do it again.”
“I don’t smell a worthy opponent anyway”, he sneered, letting go of the sword.
“Can’t deny it”, you shrugged off without shame. “I’ll take care of it, you can wait in the garden if you want. There’s some nice shade under the oak tree.”
He frowned without understanding why you would specify the last part, but since he had nothing better to do he went there to sit down.
Around an hour later, he heard you sitting next to him.
“Here”, you said.
He felt your hand brushing his again and ended up with a cup of sake. A second later, your cup hit his.
“Kanpai!” You happily exclaimed.
“Kanpai”, he repeated amused by the situation. “What did I do to deserve this one?” He slowly wondered.
“You came back, it’s great enough to deserve my gratitude”, you explained and even he could hear your smile.
You put the bottle between the both of you, pouring a drink for him or you when needed. It was very awkward, especially when you were perfectly aware that he could kill you anytime he wanted, but he had kept his promise, so you trusted him. At least a little.
Meanwhile, Nizou started to think that it was not so bad, sitting there, where no light could bother him while sharing a nice drink and sometimes enjoying your brief and warm touch.
*
Like this, you became used to seeing the blind man every month. It quickly became a Rendez-Vous you were looking forward to, despite everything you started to hear around. You often went outside to buy materials or to see other blacksmiths with whom you were on good terms. While on those trips outside your forge you heard about someone called the butcher, or Nizou the butcher. And as if it was not obvious enough, sometimes people would also talk about the shirasaya katana that he was using and the fact that he was blind. You were not really surprised, after all, you had understood from the beginning that he was a killer (everyone with a sword was), but you had not expected him to be so extreme.
Still, it was not your place to question him since people living here were all killers, thieves or both or even worse. And you were enjoying his visits. You were thinking about all this when tending to Yuugure. You had already lost count of how many times Nizou had come, and as usual, he had gone in the garden while you did your job. It did not take long before you could join him.
However, you instantly froze when you saw him. He was not sitting under the tree. You had no idea how he found it, but he was currently training with a bokken, under the shade. Maybe because of the harassing heat, he had taken off his green kimono. He was unexpectedly muscular, and your eyes could not divert from his arms slashing hard, his torso twisting perfectly for each strike. It was really a sight to behold.
It made you realise that you had stopped looking at him as a stranger a long time ago. He had become close to a friend somewhere along the line. You had enjoyed your slow, casual talks, just sharing some warmth like you had forgotten it was possible. Often you would touch his hands just to guide him, even if you knew it was useless, until it became more for you than for him. But he had never told you to stop. And now… Seeing him like this… You felt something deliciously warm shift within your insides, flushing your face. At that moment, you knew you were doomed.
“Do you enjoy what you are seeing?” He sassily inquired.
How long have you been staring? You held on to a surprised gasp.
“Yes”, you answered anyway.
You were old enough to know what you wanted so why hide it? The real question was, did Nizou know it too? For now, he simply stopped and went to grab his clothes.
“Wait, I have a clean towel close.”
With the forge's heat, you obviously had a stack of clean towels to wipe off your sweat. You quickly took one and went back to the blind man. He gratefully nodded when receiving it. You shamelessly watched him clean off, even if he probably was aware of your glare, he once again chose not to say a word.
After that, you both peacefully drink in silence for a while, until a question came to your mind.
“Do you use specific sunglasses?”
“It’s just sunglasses”, he frowned, it was the first time you both talked about his blindness.
“Stop me if I’m mingling too much… But you should use special ones. You can see some lights, can’t you?”
That time he even looked surprised to hear such things from someone else, and for a man always prideful and confident, it bothered you.
“I can see… some lights indeed”, his tone implied that he was not telling everything but it was enough for you.
You took a deep breath before going through what you had in mind. It was difficult, but you never went back on your decision.
“Do you mind if I try something different with your sunglasses?”
Nizou was quite interested in what you had to show him, and he handed them to you without a second thought. After all, they were just cheap accessories he had bought. He often ended up breaking them, since he did not care about it.
He listened carefully to what was happening beside him, you had taken the glasses off and were putting others in their place. It was odd, a smirk started to show on his face.
“Here, put them again.”
He put the sunglasses back, and immediately it was different.
“Blind people often tend to perceive light, it can be really bad for their eyes, those glasses are specially made to help temper it, to protect your eyes.”
It was as if everything was easier for Nizou, it was hard to describe. Like a weight, he had carried for so long that he had forgotten everything about it.
“Why would you give me something like this?” He asked out of surprise.
He suspected that it was out of pity, that you were actually looking down on him and it made him unable to appreciate the gesture.
“I had them for a long time, so I thought rather than letting them dusting away, it would be nice to give them to you, who I know would put them to good use”
“What do they look like ?”, he finally inquired after a silence. “I am not born blind”, he added, guessing your puzzlement to his question.
“Hm… they are orange”, you admitted, a bit bothered to give something so colourful to a swordsman like him.
But since he was always wearing a green kimono, maybe it would not bother him too much.
Nizou simply hummed. The silence was dense as if none of you knew what to say. You did not really need any grateful words, as you were already happy to see him wearing them. While he felt like he had to say something but everything was too much for him. Fighting and killing were easier ways of expression. And he sensed as if he could not simply get away with a cheeky comment.
“How do you know so much?” He wondered, avoiding the problem altogether.
At that moment, even without his sight, he could tell that the subject was too hard on you. There was incredible tension, and pain coming from you. The sound of your respiration was short and difficult. It made his mind freeze and before he could think it through, he raised his left hand to slightly touch yours.
“Forget about it.”
“Not it’s okay…” You took a deep breath. “I had a daughter, years ago. She gradually became blind. I learned a bit about her condition, only it was way too late. I chose those because she liked that colour, but I never had the opportunity to give them to her.”
It was no use to ask where she was now, it was obvious to Nizou that she had died some time ago. The gift took a whole other dimension, but he was not the kind of man to bother with the weight of the dead. Quite the contrary, however in that situation he experienced a strange and unexpected compassion for you.
“Thank you… For sharing this.”
You smiled sadly and happily at the same time.
“Thank you for listening to me”, you spoke, “actually it’s the first time I talk about her to someone else…”
Nizou was uneasy, nonetheless, he kept going on that track because he wanted to hear more about you, to understand who you had been, and what had led you to who you were now. Maybe it would help him to see, and understand your light better.
“If you want to tell me more, I’m not busy today”, he explained as if it was nothing.
His behaviour made you smile, and a nice warmth spread in your chest.
“I’m very grateful, you know you can share whatever you want with me too?”
He scoffed, a part of him wanted to just throw everything at you without a filter, and scare you away for good, but the rest was reluctant to give up that fragile peace he had found here with you.
“Maybe someday”, he smirked. “Meanwhile I’m thirsty, do you still have your sake?”
You laughed light-heartedly.
“Yes, I have !”

A cup of sake - Part IV
First part - Previous part - Table of contents
Okada Nizou x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Nizou startled awake, his hands shaking from the last grasp of the terrible nightmare he had been subjected to. He had been immersed in terrible, excruciating darkness, with no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch, nothing, not even the slightest light to remind him of when he was still able to see. His thirst for it subverted him, making him look for his katana. He terribly needed to see the light shine for him, to dispel the last remnants of that nightmare.
When he started to move, he realised that he was not in one of the rooms he would rent on his journeys, there was also a familiar smell that slowly soothed him. It was like steel in a dying fire. Once he had noticed it, he instantly remembered you and he turned his face to his right to witness your peculiar light. It was not what he had in mind when he woke up, but strangely it was enough. It was what he needed. For the first time since he had met you, after having wanted two times to kill you and make you shine, he took the time to really look at you.
Your light was not a bright, clear, blinding one. Not at all. It was more like a coal hidden under a pile of ashes in a bonfire. It was not screaming of liveliness, nonetheless, it was incredibly persistent, moved by an unrivalled stubbornness. At first, he could have sworn that it would shut down without him doing anything, but now it was not so sure. It kept glowing forth, despite everything, despite him. He then realised that it would always stay like this, no matter every time he would come back, like an unwavering flicker in the dark. Not truly alive. Not truly dead. And it made him feel so relieved.
“Good morning, handsome”, you greeted when opening your eyes to see him sitting up.
His hair was a mess and he still did not have his usual sunglasses, however, you found him even more beautiful like this, at his natural.
“Good morning, honey”, he answered in a suave tone that took you by surprise.
A sudden warmth on your cheeks told you that you were blushing, making you embarrassed of yourself to be that weak to him. Meanwhile, Nizou was a bit uncertain, now that he had come to an understanding of what he wanted, staying near you, enjoying your presence and light; he still was not certain of what you wanted. Was it the moment for him to take his leave? Usually, the few people he had spent a night with, had always ended the relationship there, not wanting to keep involving them with him.
The silence became awkward, Nizou suddenly regretted not having left before you woke up. Still, he could always rectify it now, he just had to tell you that he had to go. The last thing he wanted was for you to feel bothered by him and never see him again.
“I w-...”, he started but you talked at the same time without thinking.
“Do you want to shower together? Sorry, what did you want to tell me?”
You were a bit sore from last night's activities, and because of the alcohol, so you had taken your time to sort your thoughts and now you had spoken at the same time as Nizou.
“Nothing you need to concern yourself with”, he finally decided with a smirk. “Last night was not enough to satisfy you?”
“It was truly delightful, nonetheless I am not sure my little shower can withstand our enthusiasm”, you explained guffawing.
“I will settle for a shower then…”
He reached to your face and you let him caress your cheek, sighing with delight. You closed your eyes, enjoying it until he touched your neck. You gasped in pain, surprising the both of you. Nizou stopped remembering what he had done. He instantly took back his hand, and gilt came crushing him.
“It finally looks like a bad idea to keep involving yourself with me”, he suddenly realised.
“What are you talking about?”, you said, reaching for his fleeing hand. “I do not remember saying that it did not please me?”
You sat up too, then reached your hand to his face, gently caressing him.
“Do not fret, if I do not like something, you will be the first to know. As for that, it’s only a couple of bruises, nothing to be scared of.”, you tried to ease him, he let you touch him but his hands were still clenched. “Will it make you feel better to use a safe word? So when I feel like you will hurt me you know you need to stop?”
“Are you really not scared of what I can do?” Nizou answered with another question. “I really could kill you.”
“I think right now I’m more scared to see you leave than you hurting me”, you truthfully revealed. “And I will not simply let myself be killed, do not worry.”
You put your head on his shoulder, breathing his scent and kissing his nice and warm skin. He still felt tense under your touch, and it made your chest ache.
“What can I do or say to help you?”
“Tell me more about that safe word…”
Two hours later, you were both clean, refreshed and dressed. You were now both standing in the main room of your house.
“Can you grab me the scarf on the right shelf?” You asked him while finishing to adjust your jimbei.
“I was beginning to appreciate the idea of you wearing my marks”, Nizou disclosed with a wry smile that made you laugh.
“You will have other opportunities, but for now I need to work and I don’t need to hear people gossip about me.”
“Fair enough”, he carefully placed the orange scarf around your neck, vigilant not to hurt you any further.
Once again, you blushed under his soft and affectionate ways with you. Finally, he kissed you tenderly on your lips.
“Until next time.”

A cup of sake - Part III
First part - Previous part - Table of contents
Okada Nizou x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Hello ! Today it's 100% smut so be ready ! Read the warning below.
Warning : NSFW (oral penetration, vaginal penetration, rough sex)
It did not take long for you to notice how your feelings for Nizou had changed. You were looking forward to each of his visits, and you often surprised yourself by thinking about him when he was not there. It did not bother you, on the contrary, you now wondered how to work on your wishes. Because even if you were both close enough to talk about a lot of things, you both never shared anything about your private life. So you guessed that you could start there.
The opportunity presented itself not long after. The blind man was coming more often than needed, something like every two weeks now, so you did not have long to wait. Since it was quite late and his sword did not even need to be taken care of, you simply offered him to share a meal under the oak tree in the garden. You were not a great cook, so you ordered some street food that was quickly delivered while you waited with him, chatting about what had happened since last time.
However, while you were idly chatting, you always had your goal in mind, waiting for the right time to launch the conversation. Like this, the meal ended before you could make your move. Thankfully, that time you did not share just a cup of sake, the whole bottle ended and the alcohol helped you build the courage you needed. It was a risky gamble that you were making: Nizou was close to the only person you could call a dear friend, and you rarely have seen him interact with someone else. So you had no idea if he was behaving with you like with anybody else. Leading you to be afraid of losing what you had.
“So is there someone waiting for you somewhere?”
Wo, you really had broken the nice silence for that kind of cheesy, bad, question? You felt terribly ashamed of yourself, but you could not go back, and badly wanted to hear his answer.
“Can you ask something even more unclear than that?” He made fun of you with a short laugh.
“Yeah, I guess I could phrase it better…”, even if it was completely useless you looked away to hide your embarrassment, “do you have a girlfriend or a boyfriend, or both?”
You heard him make a strange sound between the scoff and the choking which made you immediately turn in his direction. You saw him coughing over his cup of sake, and it took him a couple of seconds to come back to his usual demeanour, smirking and all.
“Both? Are you not a bit greedy?” He laughed.
“There’s no rule when it comes to that”, you shrugged off, laughing too. “And don’t try to avoid answering…”
That time you did not look away, you were so curious to see his reactions so you carefully studied his face. His wry smile wavered a bit, however, he did not part with his confidence, even facing you as if could easily see through you.
“There is none… But if you want me so badly you can just ask”, he successfully taunted you, his prideful smile all restored.
“Your pride is going to lose you someday”, you sighed but you were now a bit excited by the whole situation, you wanted to keep going and see where that evening would bring you. “I really want you Nizou.”
Maybe it was the serious tone that made him stiffen, then he took a deep sip of sake before answering.
“Come get me if you dare then”, he finally challenged you, still holding his cup while sitting, his back half laid back on his free hand.
He really looked unbothered and nonchalant, as if he was certain you were just playing around. Even if he was not showing it, he felt unsettled, it was nerve-wracking to wait like this without seeing what you were at. He heard you come closer, and then your arm moved closer to him until he felt your finger softly brushing his face. He sharply inhaled, strangely unable to stay totally unfazed by what was happening. Guided by your hand he turned exactly in front of you, the next moment was incredibly long and fast until he could feel your lips on his.
Your stomach was so hot that you had a hard time getting a hold of yourself. The alcohol was encouraging you to just go wild, however, you did not want to scare off Nizou. His lack of reaction was already difficult to deal with, but you had an idea to finally get a reaction out of him. The kiss almost made you forget your scheme, until you felt his lips part, inviting you in. You did the same, except you had kept a sip of sake and now the liquid was flowing between both your mouths. You heard him groan, which made you mischievously smirk.
Satisfied, you tried to part with him, however, the blind man skillfully grabbed your hair, preventing you from fleeing. Then he undertook to roughly kiss you, stealing away your breath and requisitioning your whole mouth. You unsuccessfully tried to escape his grasp, while your mind was going dizzy, and your whole body ignited. Nizou was so hungry as if he would never stop devouring you, it was like you had awakened a thirsty beast. Your knees yielded and you felt on your butt, unable to do anything else than move your tongue and lips in concordance with his deadly rhythm.
When he finally released your hair, you took hard breaths as if you had almost drowned. A glance toward him made clear that he was pretty proud of himself.
“Do not play with me if you can’t keep up”, he sneered.
He could hear your laborious breathing, and he was sure that you had been put back in place. He had to admit that he did not expect you to play such a trick on him, but he was still thinking that you were not serious with all this. Especially with the sake, you had been drinking.
Meanwhile, you had come back from your emotion, to find you even more thrilled than before. With how he had kissed you, he had to want it too, right?
Nizou suddenly felt a weight on his legs and the next second you grabbed his face to kiss him again.
“If you want me to stop, say it right now”, you succeeded in mumbling between two pressing assaults.
You dived your hands in his long silky grey hair, drugging yourself with his taste of sake. The man stayed a second without moving, basking in your overflowing demonstration until his own arousal woke him up from his dizziness. Without a warning, he grabbed your hips to bring you closer to him.
“I should be the one saying that”, he warned you, “do not regret it!”
He heard your smile and felt it on his lips.
“I won’t regret anything with you”, you claimed.
Maybe because of the alcohol, he chose to believe you, and without further ado, he started to eat you alive. His hands rushed to undress you, letting the cold night wind on your bare skin. He felt the goosebumps on your arms, then went to taste your neck with his mouth. Your smell was all over him, mixing with his, a strong scent of steel and blood. And he wanted to savour you so bad, to know everything he could not see, so he bit you, hard. Your scream only made him bolder, and his teeth tore up some blood.
For a brief second, he thought that you would finally reject him after such a violent and unorthodox demonstration. But you simply rushed your hands to his kimono to unbelt it, making your intentions clear as day. It was around that moment that he decided that it was now too late to back down from everything that could happen. The darkness began to blur around the sensation of your body he was embracing on his thighs. Your weight was anchoring him, and all he could see was that strange deep, intense light hidden between his hands. His focus was always wavering between your tongue in his mouth and the movements of your lower body against his.
The caresses on your body were only teasing you to death, each bite on your neck and shoulders was driving you crazy, as you were reduced to a ball of needs pressing against Nizou’s torso. You had succeeded in undressing the top of him, and the sight was a true delight.
“I never told you, but I always found you so beautiful”, you admitted in a hot voice.
“Is it really how you compliment a killer like me?” he scoffed against your neck, just under your ear making you shiver.
“I can keep them for me if you want,” you taunted him, trying to stay a bit proud despite how your body lewdly responded to his touches.
“You can’t!” he ordered in a slow, low but mendacious tone while sowing his fingers deep in your hips.
“I-I won’t”, you sputtered with an uncontrolled scream.
“Good”, he praised you with his typical sarcasm and you still felt so good hearing it.
His hands left your hips; one to catch one of your breasts in an iron grasp while the other went straight for your pussy. Your mind teared up between the two intense sensations, trying hard to keep up with what was going on.
“Can I touch you too?” You asked shakily.
“Be my guest”, he answered as if it meant nothing to him.
He was totally focused on your body, his only source of meaning, of reality. Your breast was heavy and warm in his hand, he wanted to crush it, to shape it to the extent of the sensations building in him. His other fingers discovered the wetness and a warmth even hotter between your tights. Walls clenched against his two fingers already playing with your vagina, and he went even deeper and harder to torture them. Then he heard your first moans. At first, they were low, and he was so taken by the sensations and the mix of smells that he noticed them last. It was like a cry of pain, but it was way more rewarding and breathtaking. He stopped for a second as if it was the first time he was hearing a woman moan. There was something different, he could easily notice it, however, he had no idea what it was. Possessed by the need to know, he went even more vigorously, slipping another finger into you, clenching them in a way that was making you scream louder. His mouth went on your nipple, sucking it hard between his ruthless grip. He heard you suffocate on your exquisite sounds, your mouth against his neck, sending intense thrills through his spine.
You wanted to touch Nizou, to explore his body, but he had gone so fast and so precisely that you were left unable to do much except hold onto him to not simply give away under all that intense pleasure. You could smell his gel’s perfume, the last drop making your mind utterly unable to do anything else than keep you breathing to not just pass out from the intense and excruciating pleasure. You felt it building in you until it simply and totally washed you out, leaving you shivering in Nizou’s arms.
“Those scratches will do nice scars”, he commented mockingly.
You opened your eyes and saw the damage you had done, a bit of blood was even pouring on his back.
“I will tend to it, later”, you promised.
“Later?” Okada emphasised.
He was sucking his fingers without a care in the world, and your tights squeezed around your sex without thinking.
“Yes, later”, you repeated, your breath short, “there’s no way I let your skilled self go anywhere else now.”
“And what do you want my skilled self to do then?”
You lowered your head to talk directly to his ear.
“I want you to fuck me until I beg you to stop, and then to keep going”, you whispered.
A deep, threatening groan came from Nizou, and you knew that you would get exactly what you wanted and even more. He suddenly grabbed you by your hair and half threw you to the side so he could finish undressing. Once he was done, you reached to his face and caressed it affectionately.
“There’s no light anymore, can I put your sunglasses away for now?” you softly asked him.
He slowly reached them to extend them to your care. Once you had put them on the side, you came back to him. He listened to your particular steps, strangely seeing almost no light coming from you, it was almost as if the darkness would swallow what little sight he had left. A bad chill shook him, and he felt a sudden urge to make things shine. But before he could work on it, your body was against him again. He was surrounded by your smell, touch and smell once again, easing his sudden anxiety. Your mouth drew a line from his jaw to his torso, while your hands were caressing every last part of him, making him feel more alive than ever. Without realising it he was already breathing heavily, his body yearning for more. You finally reached his pubis, your lips pressing against his warm and soft skin. He was suspended from your every move, guessing and wanting so intensely what was coming next.
You used your tongue to slowly and diligently wet Nizou’s hard member until you could grab the base with one of your hands. You then gradually took the top in your mouth, and the loud gasp you heard encouraged you in taking in all the length. It was large and long, but not too much since you were able to easily handle it. Since it was enough to occupy every inch of your mouth, you fathom for a second how good it would feel to have it in the neediest part of you.
As soon as the assassin perceived the wet and mushy texture around his cock, his hands reached to your head and grabbed your hair. He was breathing so heavily and loudly that he could hear anything other than himself. It was disgraceful and arousing at the same time. It was like he was being sucked into oblivion, slowly, bit by bit. He could not tolerate it. His hands clenched and he started to roughly force you to move faster, deeper.
You had very little control left, doing your best to just breathe and suck like you wanted, playing with your tongue to wrap around the verge or lick the top as you could. Each time you heard Nizou groan was so rewarding that your whole body was struck with a discharge.
He thought about nothing else than the sensation between his tights, overwhelmed with an intoxicating rapture. Until he heard you moan against his cock. At that exact instant, he remembered that there was something else he badly wanted too, that he wanted even more. He pulled you away.
“I wanted to taste you”, you regretted while wiping the drool from your face.
“You'll have the honour later”, Nizou growled impatiently.
He ruthlessly put you on your back and climbed on you. Like this, he could embrace your whole body again, which was much better. He sank in you. It was a sensation a thousand times crazier than feeling his sword penetrate a body. He was in you, his touch was now around and in you, you were totally, overwhelmingly around him. He started to move, and he was almost instantly over the edge.
But he still perceived your light right under him, it was not that bright, it was simply there. His left hand wandered for a second as he thought again about how bright you could shine under his murderous gesture. His fingers found your neck and wrapped around it, almost with affection. You tensed under him, your own hands reaching for his body. However it was not to struggle, one went to grab his hair pulling him closer to you while the other roamed on his torso to explore every inch of him, making a fire spread under your digits. Now that he was strangling you, he could no longer hear your thrilling sounds, the silence was killing him.
His grasp on your hips tighten, his nails piercing your skin, while his left hand let go of your neck to pass under it and draw you closer. Like this, he was able to move without any restraint and to hear you to his heart's content. He looked for your mouth with his tongue, licking your face before kissing you messily, finishing you who already had a hard time simply breathing between two rough slams. You gasped desperately, trying to caress him everywhere that made him react. The pain, the pleasure, the sensations of Nizou going wild with your body while you could touch, and taste him was enough to make you cum in a short scream that instantly led him to his climax too.
The assassin lay down beside you, squeezing you against his torso. You were soaked in sweat and other fluids, but at that moment you could not care less.

A cup of sake - Part VIII (last part)

Okada Nizou x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
“You will have to distract him for as long as you can”, you explained to the man with white hair.
There were dust, rumbles, and wires everywhere preventing you from seeing much, while the loud sounds of the fighting outside compelled you to speak at the top of your lungs.
“Who the hell are you??” He asked, succeeding in looking annoyed despite his worrying state.
“I want the same thing as you, to stop Nizou.”
You glared at him, hoping your sincerity could be read in your face and eyes.
“You can trust her”, Tetsuko showed her trust towards you, still holding her injured brother against her chest.
“Rah, fine! But don't count on me to risk my neck for you!”
You bowed your head thankfully to him and your blacksmith friends, before running to the back of the room. It was awful how huge Nizou was now, deformed, monstrous. It took you all your willpower to ignore the threatening feeling that it was already too late.
You were now in his back while Gintoki was giving a brave and inspiring speech, focusing the mad man's attention on him. You took your katana off your belt, unsheathing it slowly. The blade shone shortly, meeting with the air with pleasure. Your first born. An orange guard, soft under your fingers. You were no fighter, but today you would try everything to save your loved one.
The two enemies jumped on each other, and you used the split second to reach for a specific point of Benizakura you had finally succeeded in adding. It was like a safeguard, an ultimate disengaging device. But was it not already too late for that?
Nizou roared, making the walls shake, before falling to the ground under Gintoki’s hand. Benizakura’s weapons disappeared, letting his body go back to more normal size but the damages did not go away. There were big holes pumping blood where the wires had pierced his body, and of course, the blade's cuts from his fight.
You stood up beside him, unable to think, or rather avoiding losing yourself in useless fears and doubts. The other people were glaring at you, watching out for your possible fit of rage.
However, you simply raised the body on your shoulders. He was so light, so damn light… Painful tears rolled on your cheeks. And when you walked passed to the intruders they simply let you go on Gintoki's signal.
“Let's go, Love”, you decided, smiling bravely, “we still have a cup of sake to share.”

A cup of sake - Part VII
First part - Previous part - Table of contents
Okada Nizou x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
You heard nothing from Nizou for a few weeks. It was the first time since you were both officially together. Usually not more than a week would go by without you enjoying his visit. Each new day without news made you grow more anxious. You woke up with a despicable taste in your mouth, and your thoughts were poisoned by doubts and fear mixed together.
It was around the fourth week that you finally heard about him but from an unexpected visitor.
“Bansai, what a surprise to see you here”, you welcomed the musician in your forge.
He had never come back since the one time with Nizou. It surprised you, and immediately you wondered if his visit had something to do with the assassin’s absence.
“I was surprisingly satisfied with your last work on my blade, so I would like the same kind of treatment this time too”, he explained while briefly taking off his headphone to hear your answer.
“Give me your sword, you can wait in the garden.”
You had no real choice, and despite your urge to ask about Nizou's well-being, you took it upon yourself to do your work first. Your relationship was not really a secret, but the Kiheitai was not known to be an idyllic organisation. The last thing you wanted was to draw unnecessary attention to the blind man, especially when you knew how much he esteemed their leader. It did not take long to take care of your work, the sword was not even really used, making you wonder if he used it that often, and above all, if his visit was not about something else.
You found the man listening to his music under the oak tree, and it made your insides twist unpleasantly when you realised how much you would have preferred to notice someone else in his place. It took a toll on you to simply walk towards him and give him back his weapon. He did not even look at it and simply put it back in its sheath, consolidating your suspicions about his visit’s purpose.
“Your attendance is required on the ship”, he explained in a casual and professional voice, “let’s wrap things there.”
You frown, but you knew better than to question the order. However, at the moment you tried to take a step back, Bansai lowered himself to add something lower in your ear.
“Nizou is there.”
A feeling of rush shook you, you quickly nodded before going back in to take what you needed. You did not even try to think about why Bansai would help you, or what had exactly happened to Nizou, you decided to simply focus on getting to his side as fast as you could. It took you only a couple of minutes to gather what you wanted, the airship had a forge so you did not need much, and then you took off with your coworker.
Bansai led you to the ship in less than a day, and once you were there he explained a bit more about what was going to happen.
“We’re going in motion, so we need you ready for the fights to come.”
“Very well.”
You were not feeling ecstatic, nonetheless, you had decided long ago to see through that long war against the amanto, so there was no way you would back down now. You tensed, a dreadful sensation making you colder.
“What are you going to do?” You wondered to him, checking what was to come.
“My smooth-talking is required in research for allies”, he eluded with a malicious smile.
You nodded, it was really going to happen again. You already had withstood a war, but at the price of your daughter, what would you lose for the second one? That thought ended up throwing you into despair, even if you did not let it show on your face.
“I’ll let you to your work then”, Bansai said but before leaving he added something, “your bedroom is the first or the second in the hallway, I’m not sure anymore.”
You opened your mouth to thank him, but he had already put back his headphones. You smirked, amused by his behaviour. Then you took a long and deep look at the forge. It felt too big for you alone, too strange, foreign from yours. It was oppressing as if a huge and scary shadow was lurking around to catch you. A sudden urge compelled you to leave the room, and you ended up in the corridor.
Your breath was messed up, while you slowly caught your breath you studied the place. It was only your second time here, but you were almost certain that your room was the first one, the closest to the forge, for obvious reasons. So who was in the second one? However, nobody answered when you went to knock. You were at a loss about what to do. You finally decided to go to the main room, where you knew Takasugi would sometimes gather his men to give his orders.
That time, luck was on your side. Partly. There were three people standing, one you knew very well, and two less.
“Good afternoon Matako, Henpeita… Nizou”, you greeted, hoping that nobody had noticed your hesitation with the second man.
He was injured. Now that you thought about it, he had never shown up in your house with any kind of injuries. He obviously had loads of scars, who did not, but you never saw him in pain. An invisible hand clutched your insides.
“Good afternoon. It never occurred to me that you knew Okada, our latest addition”, the strategist pointed out a bit too well.
“Bansai introduced us”, you lied without knowing why.
A scoff from Matako made you remember that you did not like her much. She was so young, prideful and smitten with Takasugi. You froze. That could match with almost everyone else on this ship. Like to prove  you right, the blind man scoffed too and you almost face palmed. You restrained yourself to not to shoot that you were doing your best right now, that if he had a better idea he could say it too. As if he could hear your thoughts, he got closer to you, separating the room into two teams.
“She’s mine so do not stare too much Henpeita”, he possessively asserted with a smirk.
The surprise made you blush, it was unexpected to witness him being so open about your relationship, mainly because you never had much occasion to display it. In the meantime, it made you really happy, causing a discreet smile on your mouth. Henpeita did not seem taken aback, unlike Makoto who glared at the both of you as if you were some kind of particularly disgusting Amanto.
“She’s far too old”, the other man replied with a straight face that was only worsening his case.
“What are you doing here, honey?” Nizou ignored him.
“She, like us, must have heard about your humiliation”, Makoto gloated slyly.
“An humiliation… Is this how you describe a fight between samouraï?” He wondered ironically, making the last word last on his tongue.
He looked unbothered by her attitude, however you noticed his frown and his tension from his shoulders. There was more about it than what he was letting out, it was so obvious, you wanted to talk to him about it, but not in front of those bystanders.
“You got your ass kicked by one of Takasugi’s old compagnon”, the situation was clearly giving her a lot of fun. “You can try and put big words on it, but you still were easily defeated, even getting your sword shattered !”
Nizou’s smiling face tightens in a freezing, scary grimace.
“Makoto it is enough”, Henpeita stopped her before Okada could do anything. “We still have work to do.”
“That’s true, Takasugi entrusted us with important tasks, not like some useless people”, she scoffed while almost singing the name of their leader.
You stared at them leaving, before looking back at Nizou, you remarked his clenched fist and did not hesitate in taking them in your hands.
“Let’s go somewhere else”, he settled intertwining your right fingers with his.
Without a word you were led through the corridor to the mysterious room you had knocked too just a moment before. Really, your bedroom had been just next to his for how long exactly?! The lower members of the kiheitai stared at the both of you but before anyone could give any unnecessary comments the door was loudly shut.
“I did not think you would miss me to the point of coming here, that put aside I must say I am quite moved by your dedication”, Nizou smirked making clear he was not believing one word of the nonsense he was spouting.
“You know I would go to the moon for you”, you retaliated with a short laugh, “but maybe it’s too short-sighted now. Should I rather say to the next universe?”
“You should not bother yourself so far”, he laughed but his was far more jaded.
“True, I do not need to go this far…”, you admitted walking closer to him, “you’re already in front of me…”
Your free hand went caressing his face, at first hesitantly, then more fondly. His features softened while he let himself weigh in your palm. It was quiet and warm, however you could feel as if an invisible wall was separating you from Nizou. You stared at his injuries, thinking about what Makoto had said and how important Takasugi was for him.
Before you could try and ease the pain you could sense from Okada, he withdrew himself from your touch.
“Kijima is right”, he stated while taking a few steps towards the table.
The room had only three pieces of furniture : a bed, a chair and the table. The two last were pushed against the furthest wall, allowing a wide space to be roamed freely.
You did not like his words, that chick had nothing right! You were on the verge of talking your mind, when you noticed the shirasaya.
“Yuugure has been shattered.”
The sight of the broken sword strangely did not move you. Your work had been your world for the last ten years, but now you started to realise that maybe there was more in this life for you than creating deadly weapons. Nizou was facing the shirasaya, still holding your hand, while you were standing by his side.
“As surprising as it is, I don’t care”, you had a strange laugh and added some explanation when the men turned towards you with an inquisitive face. “I guess I’m way more relieved that you’re fine.”
“I am not fine.”
He had turned his face again, towards the weapon, and let go of your hand. Your fingers clasped in the void, giving you the disturbing sensation of falling without moving.
“I am like that broken sword”, he kept rambling as if he was thinking out loud, “No. It had a better outcome than me. I am no longer of use. I was defeated but did not die. It would have been preferable that I was shattered along with it.”
“What are you saying?” You bursted, grasping his shoulder to force him to face you.
It was so unusual to hear such idiotics thoughts from that beloved mouth that it made you unable to wait and be patient. It was unbearable!
“Takasugi needs strong people, strong sword”, he simply smirked as he was not reducing himself to a weapon.
“You are strong!” You contered, desperate to find the words which would snap him out of this terrible pit.
“Not enough!” He did not yell but his voice was loud enough to startle you.
Still, it was far from enough to make you back down.
“You don’t need to! What's the point? To die for Takasugi?”
“It would be a suitable outcome, yes.”
Your eyes started to sting, and your fingers shook on Nizou’s shoulder. He frowned, certainly sensing your reaction. You lowered your head even if you did not really need to hide from his blind eyes. But your pain was too heavy to bear.
“It is not for me”, you grinded between your teeth.
God it was hard to say out loud what was weaving your chest, however not saying it would only lead you in regrets.
“I can’t see you die… I need you Nizou… I don’t care if I’m selfish right now, but I need you ! I forgot what it was to simply be happy and live every day by the side of someone I love. You taught me that. Just by being there.”
Nizou’s frown only deepened as if he was trying to decipher your strange rant. You knew him enough to feel his doubts and uncertainty, when he talked about Takasugi it always had been driven by some kind of worship fascination. What could you mean in comparaison? A terrible burden weighted on your shoulders, realising that you were going to lose the most precious person to you, again. Your hands slid from Okada, making you sway on your feet, the world was moving too fast around you, it was sickening so you closed your eyes.
You fell in two warm arms. The first thing you saw was grey hair, and a mouthful of hope strangled you.
“You can be selfish.”
You grabbed his green kimono, however the tension did not lighten even for a bit.
“However, I still need to fight for Takasugi. I need a weapon. I will see the world shine.”
You burrowed your head in his neck, refusing to accept and deal with that terrible and evidently suicidal mission that Nizou had given himself.
A soft caress ran through your hair to your neck, then went up on your cheek, gently around your temps. It was hypnotising, as relaxing as it could. Your soul was craving for more, already addicted. You dared a glance at Nizou's face. He was no longer frowning, his features had softened. You could fink in such tenderness. But would it be enough in the scales against Takasugi?
“I won't easily shatter, I have you to take care of me. So please, would you help me fulfil my purpose?”
You took a deep inspiration.
“Okay, but on one condition.”
*
Tetsuya was explaining his project to Takasugi and his four best men and women. You were there too, listening carefully. The leader was standing as if he was carefree about the whole thing, however his eyes had such intensity, deciphering each word to catch how violent and useful this weapon could be.
Benizakura.
It was not the first time you had heard about it, Tetsuya had come to see you a couple of times to tell you about it. You were friends with him and his sister, however you never shared his passion to create the ultimate weapon. You had never agreed because it was way above what you thought a blacksmith could and should do. Mixing amanto machinery to the human art of forging, it felt blasphemous. Your forge was everything for you so you were proud and conservative about it. You were crafting weapons to be used by skillful warriors, creating a sword who can do both ways out of bond.
Therefore, Tetsuya had been stuck on his project for a long time, lacking funds to achieve it. But now you had introduced him to the one person who would give everything to see it throw Edo in fire. And of course, the only person bold enough (or with a death wish) who volunteered to try that dangerous sword had to be Nizou. You clenched your fists, it was fine, it was well within your expectations. You were not going to easily give up on your love. You had done it once in the past, and you would not be able to carry the weight of the double regrets.
Once Nizou gave himself to Tetsuya’s hand, the two others left and the blacksmith presented the more complex details of his idea to Takasugi. How it was a symbiotic weapon who once unsheathed will combine with its handler, making him far stronger, and that it would grow along its encounters with powerful opponents, and how it was making it unstoppable. The leader only asked one or two questions about its potential, before noded with satisfaction and a greedy glare.
However, when he started to leave, you followed him without thinking and even stopped him in front of the door.
“Are you not going to ask about the risks for Nizou?” You could not keep yourself from asking him when you noticed that he was simply going to leave. “It’s Amanto technology, the very one we wanted to see out of our country.”
“Why would it bother me?” He scoffed, amused by your question. “Are you suggesting that Okada could not pull it off?”
Your anger was stuck in your throat, making you greet your teeth, with the only result having Takasugi laughing at your furious face. A quick look at Nizou showed you that he was too far to be a part of the conversation, but still close enough to be able to hear them, however he did not appear the slightest bothered by what he just overheard.
“And is it not even more satisfying to use their own weapons against them?” the brown haired man chuckled slyly.
For a second you saw your daughter's dead body, with amanto overshadowing it, guffawing shamelessly. You wanted to change your mind, your skin was burning at the idea of using their technology. No. You could not start to think like this. You had already started it. Now you just had to keep yourself in check.
“I will supervise the whole project, me, not Tetsura ”, you finally reminded Shinsuke, between your clenched teeth.
“Oh, well… I am curious to see what you will do”, he hummed mockingly while leaving the room for good this once.
You stayed fumming in front of the closed door, unable to think about anything else than the urge to scratch your arms to the blood. You wanted so hard to be able to protect Nizou, but those Amanto, you had never tried to work with their technology. You were stuck between your wish to help your love in his quest of power, and your need to keep him safe.
Suddenly, a warm and soft hand landed on yours that was scratching your right arm without you noticing it.
“There’s no need for this”, Okada hummed.
“This? Oh”, you withdrew the undisciplined hand from your arm and indirectly from your beloved touch.
His frown made you realise your mistake, leading you in awkwardness. How much had he heard before? Would he think that you did not trust him? You had previously talked with him about Tetsuya, and your wish to chaperon the operation to ensure his safety. However, you were now afraid to see him scold you for being noisy or worse…
“Do not try to evade me”, Nizou inquired, that time he directly grabbed your hand.
“Are you not disappointed with me?” You dared to ask.
“Honey”, he sighed tenderly, “I can never be disappointed with you.”
“You say that but you’re not wearing the scarf I lended to you”, you mumbled, succeeding in changing the subject.
That time, it was he who looked bothered and cornered. You had talked about it only to evade the previous subject, not really annoyed that he did not have it (you had said yourself he could throw it); but his reaction was curious to say the least.
“Did you lose it?”
“It would be impossible for me to misplace it”, he admitted, after an hesitation he pointed to his kimono pocket. “I just could not bring myself to wear it and risk dirtying such a precious gift.”
“What are you saying”, you stumbled feeling embarrassed, “just wear it, it is of no use like this. If it gets dirty I’ll just give you another!”
“ARE YOU AVAILABLE?” Tetsuya interrupted your conversation successfully from the middle of the room, with his loud voice.
You groaned, disappointed to not be able to enjoy a bit longer Nizou’s company.
“I’ll see you later then, love”, you hoped before kissing him lightly on the lips.
He did not have time to answer, but his face followed the sound of your footsteps. Your light, it was still as oddly peculiar as usual, nonetheless, seeing it put him unexpectedly in a very good mood. A perfect way was opening in front of him, one he could walk beside you, following Takasugi’s leadership.
*
You had absolutely no idea of the time or the day, Benizakura’s first prototype was glowing faintly in front of you, on the wide table put in the middle of the forge. Tetsuya had already gone to sleep after pulling a couple of all nighter in order to achieve it. However, you still could not go to sleep. The cyber part was functional, but not like you wanted it to be. You needed to figure it out, soon. Takasugi’s plan was going to start in only two weeks, and you still had not succeeded in your plans.
You were so focused that you did not hear the door open, nor the light footsteps coming closer. You noticed Nizou’s presence only at the feeling of a gentle stroke in your hair, followed by softs kisses on your neck. It was like you had been uprooted from your gloomy thoughts and difficult rechearch. You started to breathe again.
“Love”, you whispered in a relieved sight.
“I thought you had fallen asleep while working”, he explained with a gentle and wry smile.
“I can’t sleep”, you sighted, brushing your hair out of frustration. “It won’t do what I want! Metal is easy to handle, but this… This is alive and it’s fighting back !”
Nizou noticed how you had already forgotten about him, your breath heavy not directed in his direction, your fingers loudly roaming in your hair. He had never witnessed you that worked up on your swords, and quite frankly he did not like it.
“You need a break”, he finally imposed it on you, forcing you to turn your back to Benizakura. “Let’s go get you some sleep.”
You lost yourself looking at Nizou’s face, wondering what would happen to him when you would finally allow that weapon to fuse with him… Your chest tightened, but he was right. In that state you could not do a thing.
“I’ll sleep in your bedroom tonight, if you’ll have me”, you decided.
“I would always have you”, Okada hummed, teasing you.

A cup of sake - Part VI
First part - Previous part - Table of contents
Okada Nizou x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
“So you see light but not just the sun or bulb’s one, you can perceive the light of humans?” You summarised.
You were lounging in the bed, after an intense and restless night, with Nizou laying beside you. It already had happened that you two talked about anything that you wanted to, like this. But today you could feel it was different from the usual idle chatter.
“The usual light is just painful, however, the humans’ one is different, hypnotising”, Okada nodded, “and when they die… It beams like fireworks.”
“Maybe you can see the soul?” You wondered, snuggled on his upper body. “It could make sense in a way.”
“Soul? Is it not too unsophisticated?” He scoffed.
“Why not? You already said that since you had become blind your other senses had surpassed themselves. Why not your vision too?”
Nizou frowned, he had never really thought about it, satisfying himself with just being able to perceive it and pursuing it. However, talking lightly on the subject with you was unexpected, and incredibly relieving. At first, he had tried to repress his talkative and weird questioning self, but with every moment spent with you, his tongue had started to get free. He had then waited for the moment you would get tired of his oddities, or get afraid of him.
“Like it mutated to still allow you to see but differently since you could no longer”, you kept going on with your idea until you noticed your partner's silence. “Sorry, I should not talk about it like this…”
“Quite on the contrary”, he stopped you with his usual slow and unbothered pace, “you have an interesting perspective about it.”
“You’re sure it’s not bothering you?” You insisted.
You had already shown him your weakness and were now afraid to see him leave at your first slip-up. Thinking about your daughter reminded you how bad you had been after her father had left you because of her condition. It had made you feel like it was your fault, like you had done something wrong, like you had failed as a woman who had given birth to a defective child. After a long time you had been better, but getting in another relationship was sometimes making you feel vulnerable.
A gentle pat on your head made you raise it, and you saw that Nizou had his face turned toward you. He was still smirking as usual and it made your worries fly away.
“You would be the first to know if something is not to my liking”, he certified.
You half closed your eyes, enjoying his caresses.
“So how do I shine?” You asked out of curiosity.
“You’re shining like an incandescent ember.”
“Really?” You scoffed at his anticlimactic answer. “It’s pretty lame.”
“Do not underestimate your light, it’s shining truly perfectly.”
You opened your eyes again when hearing him talk with such passion, he was not laughing at your expense, you could say it from his expression.
“I wonder if I will shine brighter when I die then…”
“You do not need to worry yourself with that kind of thought”, Nizou ascertained while caressing tenderly the line of your jaw and chin. “You’re perfect as it is.”
His finger wandered on your lips, making you open your mouth under his stirring touch.
“Until now have you met people with a nice light?” You wondered despite yourself.
Nizou’s hand is instantly withdrawn, making you feel frustrated and cold.
“There is someone. A man you also know.”
“Who’s that?”
“Kiheitai’s leader, Takasugi Shinsuke.”
You had obviously already met the man. But the way Nizou told his name had a bothering manner about it. Almost reverencing, depending, fantasising.
“He’s shining as bright as if he was constantly dying, it’s aggressive and dangerous but also so mesmerising.”
“It’s like a dying star then, even when they are dead, we can still see them shining in the night sky”, you compared.
“A dying star”, the blind man repeated, looking pleased by the sound of it.
You stayed silent, thinking a bit more about how sometimes a dying star would create a dark hole and swallow everything close to it. You had a bad feeling about it.
Finally, a moment later you were both standing in the doorway.
“I have to go on a longer mission starting today, in Edo”, he revealed to you. “Takasugi needs the support of some political man, I will be working as one of his henchmen for a couple of days.”
There were no risks in telling you everything since you already were a part of the Kiheitai. However, you were uneased, certainly because of the conversation you had shared in the morning with him. Furthermore, Edo was away from here, full of Amanto, not a peaceful place to be.
“I heard the weather is colder back there”, you explained while taking your orange scarf from the shelf to put it on the man. “Please indulge me and wear it, for now, you can always toss it in a corner later…”
You focused on tidying it neatly so it would not bother him in his fights, but mainly not to see the face he was making right now, which was certainly mocking you.
“Tossing such a delicate and thoughtful gift from you, I would never have the heart to do such a despicable thing!”
“Drop the act”, you mumbled, hearing his smile without having to look at him.
Two delicate hands cupped your face, forcing you gently to raise your head. He was smiling indeed, however, there was no malice. He softly kissed you on both cheeks before your lips. You felt like butterflies were flying in your belly, your mind totally confused.
“I do not act when I am with you… I will truly cherish it…”
And with those words, he left your house. You stared at him, fading away, and swore that when he would come back, you would offer him something a hundred times better than that old scarf.

A cup of sake - Part V
First part - Previous part - Table of contents
Okada Nizou x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Nizou particularly liked your house. Especially now that he had access to the whole building, meaning the first floor where your bedroom, kitchen and all were. The main reason was that it was not too filled, there was just the minimum to be at ease and comfortable. Like this, he could walk without worrying about furniture on his knees or little toes. Usually, he always had to be vigilant, to think about where he was, even if he could do this quite easily now, it was still way better to just not have to ponder every time he had to take a step.
However, there was one room that he had never come into. It was always closed and when he tried to smell anything coming from it, he could only inhale dust. The obvious purpose for it would be a storage room, but he knew you already had one downstairs. Still, he did not ask, thinking that you would come to talk about it when you wanted.
His favourite spot was still the garden, he had spent many good times there with you, before and after you started to have sexual relationships. He was thinking about it right now while enjoying the quiet and peaceful setting. Even the special sound of the forge did not bother him, mixing nicely with the rest. Although you always sounded happy to see him, and that every little moment he shared with you was an absolute delight, he began to realise that there was nothing really official about it. He had not a lot of things in his life that he cared about, but you had started to be one of them. However, before he could continue, he needed to know where you both were. He could totally satisfy himself with a mutually beneficial relationship, he just wanted to hear you say it.
His peace broken, he stood up to go see you. His first idea was to simply ask you directly without waiting, however, when he came closer to the door he noticed that the hammering sound had stopped. You were actually talking with a client of yours.
“There’s no use in insisting Tetsuya”, you said in an obviously annoyed tone.
“You don’t understand, it would be revolutionary !” A man shouted as if you were deaf.
“I don’t want to help you with that, I won’t change my mind. Now, if you had nothing else to tell me, just go back to your own work.”
“You will regret it, you won’t be able to reach what you want with your current work!”
“It’s my problem. Now goodbye Tetsuya.”
Loud and angry footsteps moved away, and a dead silence took place. It was strange to not hear you working, so Nizou walked toward where he had last heard you talk. Your breathing helped him situate you until he could gently touch your shoulders, you were sitting on a chair close to the back of the room.
“Are you alright?” He asked you out of concern even if his mind was already thinking about getting on that man who had mishandled you.
“I’m fine, love”, you sighed, grabbing his hand to put your head in it.
“Be careful, if you start calling me like this, I could get used to it”, he joked, kneeling in front of you.
“You’ll do well to quickly get used to it then”, you answered on the same level.
You get your head closer to his, to whisper in his ear :
“Love.”
A delicious chill made Nizou shudder and he had to grab you by your shoulders to keep himself in check. Right now he felt like he could take you without hesitation nor a care in the world. But he wanted his answer first.
“Before I give you what you deserve”, he started at a low and slow pace, “are we simply playing around or is there something else going on between us?”
You thought for a bit, you could tell Nizou was asking in all seriousness and you really did not want to mess up what you had. Already two months had gone by since you were now sharing more than just sake, but you never had put any label on what you were doing. It had been so long since you had a serious relationship, and it had ended so badly that you were not sure to be able to live such a thing again. However, just seeing the blind man kneeling in front of you, his little frown despite his wry smile, his warm hands on you… You could not be cursed to the point of always having a bad ending, right?
“If it’s alright with you, I would love to call you mine”, you finally admitted.
For a second you were scared to see him stand up and leave. It went nothing like that.
“Only if I can call you mine as well”, he had a smug smile.
“It would make me happy if you did…”
It was as much as Nizou could take before letting go of his last shred of resistance. That conversation had gone far better than everything he could have imagined, and now he just wanted to mark it on your body. His lips roughly met you, underlining his growing arousal.
“I’m still on work you know”, you tried to get him to reason between two hungry kisses.
“Your only job right now is to moan for me”, he ordered.
The intense discharge in your belly told you that you did not want to go against him, even quite the contrary. You instantly forgot where you were and answered with impatience to his affection. In a matter of seconds, you were both naked and enjoying each other's touch.
Nizou was amazed to notice how it felt even better now that he knew that you were his, and only his. It was as if he could simply merge with you, take possession of every last part of you. His darkness was ending where your body was starting.
This time you found yourself on top of the blind man, and before you could react he forced you to impale on his erected member. It made you gasp for air while you felt your body stretch in a delightful pain. Your fingers scraped his torso, while you were still desperately looking for air. Nizou did not let you, he started to move his hips hard and quick, slamming your hips together, fucking you silly. His left hand was keeping you in place, allowing him to move even further and deeper in your wet vagina. The little air you could get only allowed you to make the most vulgar sounds. A sudden slap on your ass even made you scream, arousing your tormentor that only went harder on you.
Okada was basking in your filthy moans, he loved the sound of your butt when he hit it with his hands, he felt himself almost cumming only hearing it. He could ascertain you were enjoying it, but he wanted more. He went for your boobs, roughly palping them in one of his big hands. He mercilessly pinched, and squeezed, until your chest went red and painful.
You desperately tried to reach him, you were in such pain and pleasure, and you wanted to feel his arms around you.
“Please… kiss…”, the words hardly left your mouth.
But as soon as you had said them, you felt sinking in a strong and possessive embrace, a tongue took your mouth, and while you were holding, and kissing, Nizou resumed fucking you silly.
It took you a couple of seconds to come back from your peak, and realise where you were. The blind man was still holding you closely. You playfully put light kisses on his jaw and neck, making him sighed with pleasure. You both stayed like this, cuddling affectionately.
*
“Do you bring me customers, now, Love?” You asked with a wry smile.
Your chest went warm at Nizou's sight, and your mind more clear as if all your worries just flew away. He looked as prideful and dashing as always in his green kimono, but for the first time, he was not alone. It has surprised you, however, you immediately froze when you recognized the man with him.
“It's just an… associate, who needs to sharpen his sword”, Okada slowly explained, feeling that something was not right in your breathing.
“If it's not Y/N”, Bansai cheerfully exclaimed while taking off his headphones when noticing you.
Nizou, who was walking closer to you, instantly stopped and his face twisted unhappily.
“Do you know each other?” He asked, the smile leaving his face.
He had hesitated before introducing Bansai to you, but they were close by chance and both in need of repair for their swords. Until now he had always made sure to let you clear from his line of work, not even directly talking about it. It was obvious that you knew who he was, Nizou the butcher, but the fact that he was a part of the Kiheitai was still a secret. And if you did not know Bansai because of that, it would be because you were a friend or something else… A sudden rush of jealousy stroked him.
“Why would I not know her? I recruited her myself”, Bansai praised himself. “She’s working for us, isn't it true Y/N?”
You sighed, now it was too late to tell it yourself to Nizou. But you had also learnt that Nizou was a part of it, how could a coincidence like that happen? At least, it would not lead to any problem of vision between the two of you, or it was you thought at first.
“Yes, it is… Sorry for not telling you sooner”, you apologised to the blind man.
You reached to receive the two swords, but once you got back to your work, the youngest simply walked away without saying where he was going. While you were working, you could feel as if Nizou was watching you. You would both need to have a difficult conversation you had hoped to postpone for the longest time. Still, you also had questions so maybe it was the right time for a heart-to-heart conversation, but would you be able to reveal your darkest parts?
“Will Bansai come back anytime soon?” You asked Nizou once you met with him in the garden with a bottle of sake.
“I could care less about that kid, but I gathered he will not come back before the next morning”, the assassin explained, taking the cup you were extending to him.
You both drank a moment in silence. There was a lot going on in both of your minds, and the words were hard to say.
“Why are you working for the Kihetai?” Nizou finally inquired in an unexpectedly unhappy voice. “Playing revolutionary is not a game everyone can succeed…”
He was feeling as if he had failed something, failed you. The only good, pure, thing in his life and you had to turn out working for the same organisation as him. He should have been relieved and even happy, but he was not a hypocrite to the point of ignoring that their mission was the riskiest, that most of them would die before witnessing their dream come true. And without doubt, they would all be drenched in blood while pursuing it. It was nothing he wanted for you.
“If you're worried I would get myself killed, do not worry”, you answered, your throat tightening by his doubtful reaction. “I’m simply providing the Kiheitai with weapons, and maintaining them. It’s the only thing I can do…”
“You should not involve yourself with us, it’s not a place for normal people like you”, Nizou sneered.
Was angering you really what he wanted? The words were leaving his mouth before he could reflect on them. And it was not only out of worry for you. There was the taste of pride mingling on top of the rest.
“And what should I do?” You yelled for the first time, unable to hold on to the tempest going on in your mind and surprising Nizou. “They killed my daughter!”
Now that you had said it, it was as if you had opened the bottle and could no longer close it. Tears started to rush to your cheeks, and you kept telling everything that you had in your heart, shooting without aiming at anybody other than yourself.
“She was just five years old! She was blind, and those fuckings Amanto stamped on her just because she was on their way!”
You took your head in your hands, hiding your despair, you were feeling humiliated to not be able to stay composed. You took deep breaths, and when you thought that you could not succeed in calming yourself, you felt a big warm hand on your back. At that instant, there was no need for words, just knowing that you were no longer alone was enough.
You sat down again with Nizou, and he waited silently for you to cool off.
“I am sorry for losing my temper”, you finally said, sniffing and wiping your tears with your jimbei’s sleeves.
“There is nothing to feel ashamed of”, the blind assassin promised while gently helping you with his kimono.
“I think the worst part is that it was my fault all along…”, you whispered. “Her father left me as soon as her condition started, at that time we were both fighting against the Amanto… I was frustrated to be forced to take care of her when I had my own work to do… She never complained, even when the light was simply killing her from pain… But I still hated her for making my life so miserable… I kept working hard, never taking the time to properly take care of her… Anyway, one day I was hammering as usual, until I heard some commotion in front of the forge. When I went outside, the Amanto were looking at her corpse as if she was a strange dirty animal… I tried to kill them but ended up badly injured. After that, what could I do other than keep fighting against those bastards?”
You took a deep breath and felt like a heavyweight just going off your chest. Your eyes saw the orange leaves of the oak tree and your chest tightened at the memory of the colour of your daughter’s hair.
“You did not hate her”.
You received a shot in the heart, it was painful but then it felt as if a knot suddenly unwinded at that very spot.  You had made peace long ago with the fact that you were doing this just to keep going, to simply not stop. You had lost your daughter because of your work, if you stopped now, it would truly have been for nothing. However, you had never gotten over never having been a better mother for her.
“You did not hate her”, Nizou repeated as if he was not sure you had heard him the first time. “You can trust my words, I know the sound of hatred, and it has nothing to do with yours.”
There was something, a little aspect in his tone that made you wonder what he was really meaning by it. You were already deeply moved by his words, however, you could not help yourself and guess that there was more behind it. Even if Okada’s face was as even, as usual, it lacked his usual cocky smile.
“Thank you”, you softly whispered, brushing his left hand with yours. “It means a lot to me…”
It made him turn his face towards you with a little smile that was more sad than wry for the first time since you knew him. He probably had no idea how heartbroken he looked for you. You raised your hand and fondled his grey hair, making him tilt his head with a low hum.
“Do you want to tell me about it?” You suggested in a tender voice.
You felt him tense under your fingers, nonetheless, you did not press him or say anything else, you simply kept caressing him until he untensed again.
“There is nothing grand to tell about”, he shrugged off with a wry smile, “I was just born at the wrong place, at the wrong time. There were some kinds of mechanical products used in a factory around where I lived. I gather that it was not friendly to children. Or I was simply born defective. Anyway, I was no longer useful to anyone so I ended up fending for myself using any blade I could find.”
He made a pause in his story.
“Nevertheless, I ended up quite enjoying myself in the process”, he finally ended, scoffing like he wanted to uphold his way of life.
You did not stop, not wanting to interrupt him in the most intimate revelation he ever had done to you.  Once it was obvious he would not start to talk again, you dare to say something.
“You're useful to me”, you assured him strongly.
“As much pride I can take in being able to please you, I do not find it sufficient to inspire my whole life”, he laughed at you.
Instantly you understood that he was trying to change the subject, playing around to lead you in thinking about something else. You frown. There was no way you would not make him comprehend what you had in mind. In any case, you had already gone too far in that relationship to stop now and pretend to do this only for sex. Your last serious discussion had not been serious enough, so you just had to level up the game.
“Nizou, you made me happy just by your presence”, you admitted, feeling your cheeks heating up, “I don’t need you for your sword skills, nor sexual prowesses either, even if the last one are quite astonishing”, you added lower. “I want to enjoy being with you for as long as we breathe, I don’t care for the rest.”
That time you were almost sure to have seen some colour on the assassin’s face!
“You’re better with words than what you let hear”, he coughed.
You smirked, seeing him embarrassed was quite the sight to behold. Just for that reason, you felt like nagging him with loads of love. However, he had to sense it so he rushed to kiss you, making you unable to do it, before processing in making sure the only sounds you could make were moans under his skilled fingers. And you happily surrendered to him, you had said what you wanted, and despite his behaviour, it was obvious he had perfectly heard and understood you.
