So in this world there’s this thing called ‘Lost’ it is a soul who stayed in the living realm aren’t able to move onto the afterlife, different than the regular ghosts who stayed here for a reason and be able interact with the living realm, ‘Losts’ are like they’re frozen in time, they are not moving not interactive and hard to notice if you’re not actively looking for them, they’re just there, in this one spot, forever. They are very rare, no body knows what caused it or how to free them, there’re very few sightings and even fewer documentations. (I’m drew these two together cause they’re in similar situations and are both suns I thought it’s funny)

Remember in the video when they’re trying to find Hester? There’s this one scene Callisto went to a necromancer, what happened here is that she asked if they could try calling Hester and the necromancer says they didn’t find anything, later Callisto went to a lot more necromancers and none of them could find Hester

While Callisto’s doing researches, she read through some documentations about ‘Losts’, since at the time she still believes Hester’s alive, she didn’t really bother to look deeper into it

Over the years there’s not a single sign of Hester being alive somewhere and no signs that she’s dead either, so she thinks that Hester somehow becomes a ‘Lost’, but she can’t just leave Yugo and go find a person that she doesn’t even know where to look for, so she stayed

Yugo’s death was her last straw, she really had nothing to lose at that point so she decided to abandon everything and go onto this journey to find Hester(she needs closure to her case)

In a journal she read, “Losts” might be found in places that were important to them when they were alive, so Callisto looked through all the places that She knows that might significant to Hester(those the the crosses on the map)

She thought she’s never going to find her until she arrived at the tree they got married under :] Apparently this is the place Hester decided to stay

So, to answer your question, if Hester went to the other side Callisto would closed the case years ago since necromancy exist in this world, she will probably still go on a journey after Yugo dies but not for finding Hester just for self pleasure
