She's the Captain's "daughter", Adopted by the gnome Captain Rendhil Ginn (oc), Her story is written into the devouts of Umberlee and the Iron Throne parts of bg3.

Rendhil leaves the ship in her care to look into suspicious happenings off the coast of Baldur's Gate. She's tadpoled after she sails her crew right into the clutches of the Absolute chasing after Rendhil.

Disabled besties~~ I got a QUESTION! My character here, Sybil, is an ambulatory wheelchair user. I’m finally getting to designing her chair, but since I don’t use one myself, I’m doing a lot of guess work with simplifying it. Does this work??? Also, she has a massive tail. I thought maybe she could use something like a bun cap to keep it situated so it doesn’t get in the way when she uses her chair, but I’m iffy on the logistics. Any advice is appreciated!

I thought about that time when Urianger walked on water and I think about him teaching Sybille how it works and the two of them standing with each other on the water before the magic fails and they fall in the water. I imagine Sybille would have to swim them to shore, but I thought the setup was pretty!

❤️💛💙Callista is definitely one of my FAVORITE characters from the Clowder Circus. She is free-spirited and always on the move. Her younger years were spent exploring the world. Now that she is in her 50s, a traveling circus is the perfect amount of excitement. She is a fire-eater and sword swallower, and has a large snake tattoo decorating her back. Due to being hairless, she gets cold pretty easily. Her signature scarf was handmade for her by Sybil, who is her closest friend. ❤️💙💛

Not much has changed since Callista’s inception (her design had only minor refining), but my art has changed so much in the last year, and I’m so happy with the improvements I’ve made. Her previous design, and a piece I made of her and Sybil, can be seen below ⬇️

❤️💙💛 Welcome to the Clowder Circus! ❤️💙💛

Sybil provides psychic services for the Clowder Circus and is most popular for her tea leaf readings. She has an extensive collection of teas from all over the world, and allows guests to pick whatever flavor they would like. Sybil believes that the conversation you have with someone over a cup of tea can reveal the deep spirituality within anyone. She and Callista met through the circus, but they have a bond as if they knew each other their whole lives. Sybil knitted Callista’s signature scarf, and Callista pierced Sybil’s ear, so the two of them wear matching jewelry.

Sybil was born premature and faces lifelong health complications as a result. She is an ambulatory wheelchair user, meaning she does not always require it, but a bad day can leave her unable to stand on her own making a wheelchair a necessary accommodation. Living her whole life disabled, she pushes herself in ways that most won’t recognize. She aims to be bright and pleasant but hides her own pain to avoid burdening others.

Sybil’s previous design can be seen below, as well as an up-to-date height chart. Sybil has been one of my favorite designs since the beginning, being based off of the bearded lady freak show trope, and there was very little I wanted to change. If anything, everything that changed was just a result of my style having minor changes over the last year.

I’m also working on designing her wheelchair, but it is taking a bit as I have had valuable input from wheelchair users on how to improve the design to be more accurate. Please have patience with me as I educate myself 🫶

What does Sybil think of Dannie?

What a good question! I do want to preface this with while there is no romantic feelings between Sybil and Callista, they are deeply bonded friends, and that kind of bond can definitely lead to some feelings of jealousy and of being left out. I think it could definitely be worsened by Callista being such an adventurous person and Sybil being a homebody. Doesn’t mean they’ll never work through it, but I don’t imagine Sybil and Dannie really clicking at first. They represent two very different stages of Callista’s life.

Just to clarify, for the wheelchair, the rear wheels are on the interior and separate from the propulsion system we see on the exterior, correct? :0 That's a pretty common design error from non-wheelchair users drawing chairs - The propulsion system in manual chairs is connected to but separate from the wheels themselves, and often slightly smaller, so they don't drag on the ground and end up collecting dirt and such that runs off on the user's hands!

Aside from that, one thing of note are the armrests and backrest of the chair! Different people have different preferences, so it's important to keep your character's needs in mind - A lot of people opt for lower backed chairs, for instance, to help with upper body mobility when using their chair (both for propulsion and more general reasons), but I personally have chronic upper back and shoulder pain that's worsened without support, so I'd prefer chairs with a higher back for my own use! Armrests are a similar matter of preference - Some people like to have them on their chairs, but others find they can be obstructive when wheeling around in manual chairs!

And one more thing of note is the handles! A lot of chairs do come with handles, but depending on whether or not they're seeing regular use, some people will opt for chairs without them, or otherwise mod their chairs to remove them or make them unusable - The reasoning does get into issues of ableism, and that may or may not be a factor with your characters/setting, but irl it's not unheard of for strangers (or even people the user knows) to grab wheelchair users by their handles and wheel them around without their consent, effectively kidnapping them, and there's a tendency for bystanders to ignore their objections under the assumption that they need the assistance and are simply being ornery and objecting because they don't know what's good for them and the able-bodied person knows best. That's not necessarily something you need to take into account in your setting, but I figured I'd mention it in case it was relevant :0

I will say, take all this with a grain of salt or two - I don't have a chair myself for lack of resources and support atm, though I'd like to get one at some point - but these are some things that popped into mind when I was thinking about it, based on the experiences of other wheelchair users I know as well as the research I've done into them myself!

I had not considered the propulsion system 😅 oops. Luckily i should be able to correct that with just another circle in the drawing ✍️👀 Sybil was born premature and has musculoskeletal issues and fatigue, so high back, arm rests, and handles for when she needs assistance will be good details to consider!
