Happy Art Monday!
Hands have always intrigued me.
Capturing hands in art is both challenging and rewarding. A simple gesture, a tender touch, can convey a myriad of emotions – that's precisely what I aim to portray when I draw them.
This piece is part of a series delving into hand studies. Rather than mere exercises, I chose to illustrate various characters from the game 'Andromeda Six', revealing their connections to the main characters across my multiple playthroughs.
'Us' captures a moment suspended in time, where the interlocking of two hands tells a story of love, connection, and a delicate balance between humanity and technology. In this evocative artwork, Rina's hand, with her ethereal blue skin, delicately clasps Bash's hand, bearing the marks of hard work and devotion, against the backdrop of a sealed steel door.
Bash, a skilled space mechanic/engineer, possesses a bionic arm—a testament to his technical expertise, strength, and resilience—while his remaining human hand bears witness to his vulnerability and connection to his humanity. Standing beside him is Rina, the tilaari, whose touch and presence anchor him in the warmth and essence of what it means to be human.
The subtle details of the clean skin on their connecting index fingers signify their profound bond, transcending technological barriers and embracing the fragility and depth of their emotional connection. 'Us' captures a moment of contemplation, where Bash questions the cost of fully adopting bionic prosthetics, while Rina, through her presence, reminds him of the intangible treasures found in the embrace of humanity.
This artwork is a visual poem, inviting viewers to meditate on the complexities of love, the intertwining of human emotions with technological advancements, and the eternal essence of connection in a vast and ever-expanding cosmos.
But above all, touch, fundamental to our humanity, is the theme of this drawing.
Shoutout to my sister @valkblue for her invaluable advice on this piece!
The title is a reference to the song of the same name, 'Us,' by Movement. (on youtube)
Stay tuned for more hands ;)

Happy Art Monday!
Unlike the portrait I posted last week (which only took me a day to complete), this illustration took me ten days do draw and paint.
I have to admit I had no idea it would take this long, as it was my first time working on this type of illustration, and I even thought it would be quicker… a big mistake ^^
However, this project allowed me to learn a lot about depicting clothing (especially perspective and textures), shadows (although I believe some might be inaccurate), and color combinations.
I also had the chance to explore the 3D resources in Clip Studio Paint for posing.
It was quite fun; I felt like I was revisiting my childhood and playing with dolls (or The Sims), but without the usual limitations, as the only thing that could have held me back was not being able to depict a piece of clothing. Fortunately, Pinterest is full of various models and types of clothing that can be mixed and matched in numerous ways.
I must admit I am particularly proud of how I drew the tousled hair on the last outfit.
There's a good chance I'll create more character sheets in the future, although I currently have no projects of this style planned.

Happy Art Monday!
Thanks to my sister and some friends, I got my hands on the Visual Novel 'Andromeda Six,' and let me tell you, I got inspired! (Some would even call it obsessed 😜)
Meet Rina, my first main character (yes, I've already played this game 4 times, and I have more let's plays planned for the future 🤣). She's Tilaari, barely 20, and Bash's girlfriend. Still in the process of self-discovery, she's uncertain about her future but knows how to take care of herself. Despite her youth and gentle demeanor, you wouldn't want to end up on her bad side.
It took me a day to paint it. I drew the line art on the 6th of December (or should I say the 7th around 5 am). After a short night, I finished the skin the following morning in two hours, and the hair took almost three hours in the afternoon.
As often happens, the background was the most challenging part, not because it was hard to paint, but because I didn't know what to paint behind her. Once I knew, it was really quick. I added the game/ship/team's logo on the side at the last minute because I wanted a better way to incorporate it but couldn't find one.
I really enjoyed painting her face, her eyes, and as usual, her hair. I later created a character sheet with different outfits I'll probably post next Monday ^^
I also used that game as an excuse to practice hands, so you'll see more of that in the future 😉
