hc + 🚬 💍💰🔞 for Morolai?
Wah! So many asks! Thank you Harper!
[Ask is from this Thematic Headcanons]
🚬A Bad Habit Headcanon for Morolai🚬
Morolai's bad habits are of the destructive variety, breaking things with raw physical violence or slashing them with her claws if they can be. As a bloodrager with archetypes in urban bloodrager and blood conduit, her rage isn't as all-consuming (urban bloodragers have a modified rage that's more controlled) but she herself has the temperament of a black dragon regardless.
Usually it's furniture: slashing through pillows and curtains, picking up a chair or desk and tearing it apart with her wing-arms, etc. She doesn't strike living beings unless she is actually attempting to maim or kill and that's usually a more conscious decision on her part.
💍A Jewelry Headcanon for Morolai 💍
Jewelry is really tough for Moro! Her ears are serrated and scaled, reflecting her black dragon heritage, and her hands are always clawed and her primary weapons anyway. Earrings and rings really aren't an option for her.
Instead, she can adorn herself with circlets and tiaras and such, most notably her crown once she's dealt with Nyrissa. It's forged from Briar into a thorn-motif :)
Necklaces also make an appearance in her usual attire, which itself is often gem-crusted or woven with precious metals in some form.
💰A Money Headcanon for Morolai 💰
The treasury is probably the department Moro has the most direct involvement in within her kingdom. Many would joke that her draconic bloodline has her thinking of her wealth in a 'hoard'-like manner, but definitely not to her face (unless they're a trusted friend/ally like her companions). She is METICULOUS about treasury reports and has a keen eye for noticing if even a single gold piece is unaccounted for.
🔞A NSFW Headcanon for Morolai🔞
Her strap is modeled after a dragon's :3c
Despite being an extreme selfish lover, there are definitely situations in which she would pull it out and so generously give whoever is in her bed a... reward. Obviously she expects double back in worship, preferably with a head between her thighs.

hc + 🌘 for a night-themed headcanon for moro please?
Thanks for the ask Romeo!
[Ask is from this Thematic Headcanons]
🌘A Night-Themed headcanon for Morolai🌘
Morolai is absolutely a night-owl, and always has been. Mornings are dreadful affairs when she has to wake up at a time that isn't her naturally awaking, and she is quick to make it everyone else's problem. Her court isn't in session until noon, usually.
Her nights are long and lively - as she'll regularly be up until equivalent 3 or 4am our time. What does she do? Reading, luxuriating, handling whatever work needs to be passed on to her cabinet and assistants in the morning, etc etc.
Her subjects refer to her with various monikers as The Midnight Queen, The Moonlit Dragon, The Noontime Court, Night's Scales, etc etc. She is, surprisingly, quite amused by these titles.

betrayal, break, fear for either or both mino and morolai?
Hey Ama! Thanks for the asks! These are good ones :3
[Questions are from this ask game]
Minovae
betrayal: Has your OC ever been betrayed by someone they thought they could trust? Has your OC ever betrayed someone who trusted them?
Ah, Mino's life is scored by moments of betrayal against her. What other kind of person would join the Hellknights in the hopes of turning their life around? The biggest one is the one that happened that night she pledged herself to them: her then-adventuring party ambushed by ghouls in the night, and the party's rogue cut her ankle to leave her behind as distraction. Jokes on them that she was the only survivor, the ghouls more eager to give in to the chase rather than dig into the seemingly helpless meal unable to run.
As for if she's betrayed someone who trusted her? Well, the ploy to free Daeran from the Other is a big one, but I think the one that haunts her forever is the general betrayal of the Hellknights by siding with House Thrune. Even though she was just another knight during the war, she sees it as a personal betrayal of all she stands for and believes in, towards the Orders that didn't side with House Thrune, to Westcrown and Cheliax as a whole... A lot of her post-Crusade life is spent trying to "fix" what she considers their (the Hellknights') greatest mistake.
fear: What is your OC's greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away?
Easy! Mino is terrified of ghouls and cannibalistic undead, and being eaten alive. This is related to the part above, obviously. She had many bite wounds from the encounter, and nearly died to ghoul fever afterward giving her also a fear of fevers and catching illness.
If she encounters a ghoul she fully dives into her Hellknight resilience, shutting down all her emotions and becoming more of a machine than anything else. She's trained herself to do it on instinct, knowing if she doesn't she risks shutting down in a completely different way or panicking, which could get herself or (worse) others killed. She's not exactly openly talkative about it but people around her definitely notice if she goes into that mode after a fight with anything that'd trigger it.
Afterwards is tough. Jitters, sweating, distant. A reckoning fully after battle helps steel herself but the immediate aftermath is a delicate situation that is often quite humiliating for her. 'It's just ghouls. You are so much stronger now they can barely touch you.'
She doesn't speak of why she has that fear. That'd be admitting that she was so insignificant and so unloved that someone she trusted so readily cut her down and left her to die. Very few people know the truth.
break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest?
Constant exposure to highly-concentrated Abyssal energies for one, lol. I've talked a lot about what Mino's time in the Abyss did to her so I'll kind of explain the why of it: her metaphysical makeup as a ganzi (and really a protean) makes her more on a chaotic-wavelength on the soul energy level. Her ganzi-ness absorbs chaos like a sponge while rebuffing law, as her soul matter is more permeable to chaotic energy. Abyss energy is chaotic evil energy though, so while the chaos that would harmlessly pass through her is fine, the equal parts evilness of it catches in her like particulate in a filter. It sticks and festers. Her feathers blacken and rot and her scales turn matte red and purple as the demonic rage rots her from the inside out. She loses most of her kindness and patience, turning into a raging beast filled with hatred just wanting to make the pain stop and resorts to turning it on others. She looks every bit the monster as she starts to act, lost in Abyssal darkness rising inside her like water in her lungs as if to drown.
All of her companions have seen her like this, and so did most of Drezen upon their return. Iomedae saw her like it, and condemned her as lost because of it.
Later on, as the Inevitable Paradox, both law and chaos can be readily absorbed by her, and she has to be careful to maintain balance lest she tips in any one direction and risks sickness. Goodness and Evilness no longer impact her as they did before (especially Evilness like with what happened in the Abyss), but too much of either Law or Chaos is like radiation poisoning to her. Luckily it takes a lot for that to happen.
Morolai
betrayal: Has your OC ever been betrayed by someone they thought they could trust? Has your OC ever betrayed someone who trusted them?
Debatable on whether or not she actually trusted Tristian, but more like... didn't consider him a threat? Still, Tristian's betrayal in Vordakai's tomb wasn't so much as wounding as it was enraging. That she would be duped by such a worm??? The humiliation and rage demanded she pursue him immediately rather than rally to Aldori (though honestly she would've left Aldori to be 'tenderized' by the Numerians a little longer lol)
As for if she's betrayed people that trusted her? Literally above - Jamandi Aldori, lol. Wait hold on let's see just how many people she's betrayed I can remember:
Jamandi Aldori: Leaving her and her armies to die in the fight against the barbarian hordes
Natala Surtova: Accepted all of their help and resources and left them high and dry afterward when she could stand on her own feet as ruler
Maegar Varn: Let Vordakai keep his body
Kalikke & Sweet Teeth: Let them be killed by the Soul Eaters and Kalikke give herself over to hell
Honestly so many more in various little quests and such I can't recall right now but just imagine she always tried to come out on top. Morolai's rather stable and happy kingdom is built upon countless acts of betrayal and backstabbing. She feels no remorse. She feels they wouldn't have been true loyal allies that care anyway.
fear: What is your OC's greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away?
This is easy: being powerless. Morolai craves power as both a weapon and a shield to protect herself. Being stripped of her physical prowess or her magic is an actual nightmare for her, and in situations where she is weaker than she needs to be she becomes a bit of a feral beast.
She would rather go down fighting and biting and screaming that let herself be taken or her wings clipped, so to speak.
break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest?
There is a delicate balance with Morolai and her bloodrager powers: she refuses to lose herself to them and yet she also refuses to be powerless or weak. This came to a head in the final battle with The Lantern King, where she fully gave in and became the black dragon.
It was fortunate her kingdom was already in so much physical disarray because she would've destroyed the capital herself in the battle from how viciously and almost mindlessly she fought. Only having a wing torn off, severe burns, and blood loss snapped her out of it. While nearly all of constituents saw the dragon queen's true awe-striking rage, very few saw the aftermath.

💎💎💎 for Morolai on Valerius? 👀😏
[Oh hell yeah]
The dragon queen looks up from where she'd been absentmindedly cleaning beneath a claw, wickedly sharp and black. Eyes the color of acid twinkle in amusement and her lips, painted dark, twist into a smile that could almost be deemed 'affectionate.'
"Oh, Valerius. Vali. You wish to know my opinions on dear Valerius? I assume gossip has spread about our previous trysts...", she grins devilishly. "Why else would you be asking about him and I?"
A low hum reverberates from somewhere deep in her chest. "He is a prime specimen, what more can I say? He is a gentleman and a predator in one. His education is pedigree as his lineage. His physique... his body...", she clicks her tongue. "And his vicious wit is one of the few to match my own, same as his hunger."
She chuckles.
"I suppose that's the reason we keep a... healthy... distance between us these days. I respect him immensely, for all that he has accomplished and all he is capable of, but we both know ours is a hunger for dominance that wouldn't stop short of each others. We are simply two flames that'd only consume one another rather than make one greater pyre. His current chosen wife suits him much better in that regard with her... more humble aspirations." She says this with clear contempt. "Though it is nice to see him no longer moping about the place like a sad pup left out in the rain. It was an embarrassment."
A few seconds pass as she thinks, then rolls her eyes.
"Speaking of capabilities. there is very little I despise more than wasted potential, and dear Vali is capable of so much more than he's found himself content with in the moment. It's a shame, truly, but at least it keeps him from becoming a concern in my own personal politics. I need not worry about what threat he poses to Vyrdraig, so long as he continues being so devoted to that goddess of his... and his bloodthirsty flower."
"And, well...", she taps a claw against her lips. "My own pet keeps a close enough eye on them when he goes to visit Drezen. I suppose I should thank them for agreeing to these little 'exchanges' he proposed. It really has brightened up Maegar's mood since we haven't had crisis after crisis to keep him entertained."

Dracolich, secrets?
Perfect word for them, not surprising I hope :)
Ask Game - Ship + Headcanons
Vorkadai is not his actual name - we know this. The 'Vordakai' we know stole it from his master, as he was the only apprentice to survive Earthfall (and was the shittiest one at that, lol). He claims he doesn't remember his actual name, but this is a lie (in my canon). He does remember, but given the power of names and true names and how Tristian's curse works, he's not about to go telling it to anyone nor is it even really 'his' name anymore, he has to admit.
Eventually though he does tell Morolai. She's angry he lied (not that she feels he doesn't trust her but more 'how dare anyone lie to me!') but there's a part of her that understands entirely why. When he's not in his Varn vessel, she'll call him by his actual original name.
[It might weaken the curse. Just a little bit.]
I've been workshopping what it would be ever since I came up with Morolai and had that "haha what if I shipped her with the lich cyclops as a crackship" (I SHOULD'VE KNOWN THAT WAS THE WARNING BELL). The only one I've liked is "Skarzagul/Skarza-gul."

🌺 idk if youre only doing it for mino but if not
moro cannot stand having imperfect nails, they have to be pristine and manicured exactly how she likes them always
10/10
Moro is always minding her claws, almost like a constant fixation. Luckily since they're draconic it actually takes a lot to scuff and damage them, but after every fight she is meticulous in checking them and cleaning them up!
Gods forbid she breaks one. She WILL make it everyone's problem.

🌸💅🏽 for Mino and dragon queen? :3
Hey Arrow! Happily!
[Asks from this ask game]
Minovae
🌸 What do they smell like? Do they wear a signature scent?
Minovae spells like all sorts of things! Depending on the time of day and how soon she's not just bathed but had one of her "grooming nights", and whether or not she's been in her armor.
Her typical "passed her in the hall" scent would be a mix of armor polish and metal but something sweet and spicy laced with it. Her ganzi physiology means she has all sorts of different products for the different parts of her: skin vs hair vs scales vs feathers. Everything requires their own unique care and so she has a pretty elaborate routine with lots of scents involved!
Her skin gets a simple milk and honey scented wash that hydrates any chafed skin from armor or her scales pinching, and is then moisturized with a scentless lotion derived from oats (so she doesn't smell like a walking perfume shop). Her scales are treated with a kaolin clay scrub and then sealed with a beeswax and honey based balm so they have a protective layer to keep them from chipping and flaking, and keeps them shiny too! Her feathers don't get shampoo since it dulls their color and makes them stiff and itchy, instead being treated with a cleanser and oil that leaves them soft, shiny, vibrant, and smelling strongly of citrus (specifically bergamot). Last is her hair, which the shampoo and conditioner combined leaves smelling faintly of warm sweetness, almost vanilla-like.
So as for signature scent? If anything it would be that citrus, which reminds her of home and isn't particularly offensive. On occasions where she need get dressed up and look nice, she might dab some of that oil on her wrists and neck.
💅🏽 How do they keep their nails, long or short? Do they paint or decorate them? Do they bite their nails or pick at their cuticles?
Wow I haven't actually considered Mino's nails much! Truthfully, she would keep them short and groomed lest risking infection and breaking in battle. It'd be part of her weekly grooming night, making sure they're as short as possible and filed, and the cuticles are pushed back and any possible hangnails dealt with.
She wouldn't bite her nails or pick at her cuticles either--her nervous picking habits would be at her scales if she's pressed enough.
On fancy occasions she would paint them to match her outfit.
Morolai
🌸 What do they smell like? Do they wear a signature scent?
A much, much stronger scent. She has to cover up the underlying scent of acid that lingers around her from her black dragon lineage. She'd been drawn to all sorts of floral scents, rotating between them to match her outfit and mood: jasmine, lavender, rose, etc.
That smell of acid, burning and hot, will always be lingering beneath though, like a quiet warning.
She might also smell like any recent magic she's cast! Ozone from lightning spells and such.
💅🏽 How do they keep their nails, long or short? Do they paint or decorate them? Do they bite their nails or pick at their cuticles?
Oh, Morolai's claws are her everything. Since awakening to her bloodrager heritage, her claws have always been lined with black scales and the nails themselves are black as the starless night. They're nearly indestructible and even if they do break or chip, they heal extremely quickly (even just a surge of magic from within her is enough to repair them on the spot!).
So, she doesn't really have much of a choice in their length, even if she cared about keeping them short. They're long - several inches long, and do make basic tasks a nuisance at times, though nothing a servant or mage hand can't fix. She does often tease the tip of them between her teeth, when she's in a "toying with her prey" kind of mood (cheeky, flirty, playful).
Since they're her pride and joy, she's always fussing over her cuticles and making sure her hands stay healthy. No paint, since "they're already perfect", she would say.

roots for moro!
OH FOR MORO! YES
roots: Is your OC's look inspired by any specific style of clothing or fashion trend? What are the roots and/or inspiration for their look?
Morolai has quite a FEW different looks and themes that go with them, and each can be charted with different points of her story. So I'm going to talk about her key/core designs first!
HAIR: The big, 80s-style XMen hair was the very first thing I put down to paper for her. I wanted BIG. PURPLE. HAIR. I can't remember the initial inspiration for it even, but I know I've loved Storm's older designs for so so long and LOVE THE HAIR. A lot of times when I make characters they already spring out of my head mostly formed, like Athena with Zeus lol.
CLAWS: Came immediately after the hair. Gradient claws/fingers/hands is SUCH a favorite design element of mine. I'd been looking for a character to do it with for a little while and my draconic bloodrager was the perfect choice.
Tumblr media
EARS: Came later! I was looking for more ways to show off her draconic heritage that wasn't explicitly scales. Mino has scales, and as much as I love love love scales, I didn't want TWO heavily scaled characters (out of consideration for the artists I commission lmao). So, modifying her half-elf ears to be serrated and blackened like a dragon was the key here! I ultimately really like how they've come out.
WINGS: Also came way later! I didn't want her to always have wings. I wanted them to be a body-horror type event for her, representing how weird it is to spontaneously grow wings at like level 12 or whatever it is. I also wanted to lean more on her claw fighting-ness and one immediately thing loomed in my mind: Nero's deviltrigger form from DMC.
Tumblr media
They come out the back and instead of a single talon are hands with claws, AND! They cling to his shoulders like a cape. I shamelessly borrowed this design for Moro but made them look more draconic to fit with her aesthetic.
Tumblr media
Okay now for
OUTFIT:
First, Moro is a half-elf bastard in the literal sense: her elven mother had an affair with a mysterious man she thought was a fellow elf in Greengold. Unknown to her, he was a half-elf with a powerful latent draconic bloodline that skipped right over him, but still presented in mostly elven features. Her mother's husband put together that the child was not his after Moro was born in Kyonin, and to hide the great embarrassment to their family name [quite well-known and powerful politicians] they raised her as a servant. Moro was raised forced to clean up after her mother and half-siblings, knowing all the lavishness was just as rightfully hers--and something in her very being told her she deserved it.
As a young teen, that thing in her awoke, that black dragon who had been coveting that which was denied to her since her birth. In a moment of rage towards her not-father, she grew her claws and tore off his face. This was not a moment of horror for her, but of actualization and euphoria. She WAS powerful. She WAS deserving. She WAS RIGHT.
She was also a criminal, so she fled, but happily! lol
Her early look from the start of Kingmaker is very much that of a woman who is escaping repression: it's revealing and slutty and has so many design elements of all the things she's wanted and was never able to take for herself! A little hippy, a little boho, a little goth, a little refined, a little of a Varisian slant here or Ustalavic there as she starts experimenting with looks that are distinctly NOT Kyonin. It's out there and a little tacky and overdone in places! But this is a young woman who has been dressed in rags her whole life that has a DRAGON in her heart that wants more and more and more. She's got to make up for lost time with everything at once.
Tumblr media
Her tastes are mercurial through the years as she becomes Baroness and then Queen of the Stolen Lands, though begin to take on spite and pettiness as her main themes. She will specifically commission and wear outfits tailored for her enemies as she meets them to get under their skin.
By https://twitter.com/eliskimm
Meeting Irovetti and Rushlight Tournament:
VERY slutty, very reminiscent of the pirate troubles and such throughout Pitax! Especially revealing to drive him absolutely insane.
Tumblr media
Going after Nyrissa
Plants. Plants plants plants. "I'm going to wear you like a fucking ribbon after I'm done with you." Very purposefully selected to earn the nymph's rage and ire... I imagine she wore something similar when meeting with the Kyonin hunting parting for Jaethal, too!
Tumblr media
Both above by https://twitter.com/bluepigart
QUEEN:
It's been years at this point. Moro is older and more mature. She's settled comfortably into colors like deep red and purple and black, but there's one major thing that lives through her design motifs: thorns and roses and flowers. Triumphing over Nyrissa, she's taken the dark floral motif as an aesthetic of her rule. Even her crown is made from the remains of Briar, and still contains motes of the nymph's sorrow and despair in it.
Tumblr media
She revels in it.
By https://twitter.com/kitnkamoodle
One last thing - headband!
The main thing that doesn't change is her headband/hair-covering! When I made Moro's initial design, the big hair was the first thing followed by the ears and claws. I leaned on the lolita fashion for this, a little lacey bonnet type of deal, and decided to incorporate it into her story: it's like a cleaner's hair covering. She'd wear them all the time as a servant for the household and wearing a very similar but fashionable article there instead as a deliberate choice is like a personal fuck-you and reminder to herself where she came from.

How about 💅🏽 and 💁🏾‍♀️for both Mino and Moro? (I hope I'm not too late)
YAY! Yes of course my friend!
[Asks from this ask game]
💅🏽 How do they keep their nails, long or short? Do they paint or decorate them? Do they bite their nails or pick at their cuticles?
Answered here for both ladies :)
💁🏾‍♀️ What is their hare care regimen like? Do they color, straighten, curl, or otherwise change their hair regularly?
Minovae
Ah, to be a ganzi... Mino's hair grows about twice as fast as other people's, meaning it's a bit of a hassle to deal with. She has naturally 2a wavy texture, and with how quickly it grows, it tends to become a mess if she's not constantly on the upkeep. Most 'trims' is just her taking her boot knife and hacking off an inch or so of splint-ends, as she doesn't have much opportunity to get to a barber often. When she does get her hair-cut, she goes all in: a short undercut on the sides and back that really shows off her neck feathers. It grows in so fast and it's a nice way of feeling fresh and doing something different until it all grows in in a few weeks.
As for hair-care, she does a deep shampoo wash once a week (grooming nights) but otherwise just a light maintenance hot water comb-through on other nights unless she's particularly filthy from travel or battle.
Her hair color is naturally two-toned: she has darker roots which naturally turn platinum blonde an inch or so out. She gets asked about her 'dye job' regularly, only for her to correct them and say no it's just a ganzi thing.
Morolai
The queen of big hair!!! Morolai is extremely protective of her long, lusciously, wavy locks. It travels all the way down her back to her rear, and is immaculately shiny and soft and silky. A combination of magic and the most expensive care products her kingdom and procure for her keeps it looking this way. If it gets damaged or cut in battle, she will task her magical experts to make it regrow.
As for a barber or stylist, she has a special familiar that actually helps her it, as she doesn't trust others to really touch her hair with the level of care she demands (except maybe Octavia). The familiar is a homunculus crafted for her by Vordakai, with a core based on her acid mixed with potent fey blood to temper it :)
As for styles - she keeps it always long, but she will comb it back and tie it with ribbon and hair pieces to match her outfits, or will tie it up high and tight if going into battle so it doesn't get in the way.
I think, maybe when she gets older (in her 50s or so), she will decide one day to cut it all short and wear it in a bob.

46 and 50 for Moro?
Oc Asks Game
Hey Emi! Hell yeah more for Moro!
46. Does your character believe in anything? Religion? Superstition?
Yes, actually! Moro pays quiet deference and respect to Calistria of course. Her entire life is based on revenge and claiming what she believes is hers by right. She knows better than to spurn the goddess that holds dominion over these things.
A really fun one though, and probably not one I'm sure would be expected, but Moro is very, very much a god-fearing worshipper of Hanspur! Not knowing how to swim and having nearly drowned at least once, she gives praise and offerings to The Water Rat whenever she crosses any body of water in The Stolen Lands. She even actually considers her, uh, 'conversion project' in the form of Vordekai to be part of her worship funny enough. Hanspur demands you thwart daemons and The Horsemen, and by supplanting Vordekai's worship of Charon with herself, well she thinks she's doing a rightness for Hanspur. Is she actually though? Debatable!
50. How does your sleep at night? Are they a heavy or light sleeper? Do they dream or have nightmares? Do they find it easy to sleep or are they more a night owl?
Light sleeper! She's always wary of danger and attacks so she tends to wake up at any little disturbance. Nightmares aren't really a thing except for when Nyrissa was around and tormenting her dreams. Part of her light sleep is she doesn't really dream otherwise, but it does also mean that she doesn't get all that restful sleep either.
She ends up with titles like The Evening Queen because she sleeps in late and doesn't really begin court until the afternoon.
