i was thinking about how i wished leverage had a birthday episode for some of the characters cause that would be sweet, but then i realised something and basically…. okay here’s my thoughts in quotes form, just for fun
hardison: so when’s your birthday? i could plan something for us and the team to do and-
parker: i dont know
hardison: you don’t know… your own birthday?
parker: no, how would i know? pshh, cmon, you’re telling me you remember EXACTLY when you were born? watch this - hey, eliot, do you know your exact birth date?
eliot, innocently passing by, who was canonically anonymously dropped off at a hospital as an infant: no, how would i know?
parker: that’s what i said!
hardison: excuse me?? what is going on right now
sophie, walking into the apartment: whats wrong?
hardison: parker and eliot- well, okay, when’s your birthday? i just have to prove something.
sophie: …….july 12th
hardison: why did you pause? wait, is that your birthday or sophie devereaux’s birthday?
sophie: ………… (guilty silence)
parker: see, no one knows their real birthday! haha you’re so weird sometimes, hardison
hardison:
hardison: what the fuck guys

The thing about how sam’s arc in season 4 is often discussed is that people simultaneously acknowledge that the angels are bad, while claiming Sam is an idiot for rebelling against them.
like I have listened through three (3) rewatch podcasts and they always seem to fall into this loop of going ‘hey the angels are Obviously up to no good’ while also going ‘Sam is really stupid. Why would he trust a demon when literal angels are telling him to stop’
idk man. Maybe bc the angels are Obviously up to no good????

to quote my bestie and pulitzer prize winner tony kushner “hope isn’t a choice, it’s a moral obligation, an obligation to the cells in your body” and “it is an ethical obligation to look for hope; it is an obligation not to despair.” like god. it is so fucking hard it is harder than anything in the world to wake up and have faith that things will be better and we can change things but it is the only thing we tangibly have and can pass on to other people. idrk where i was going with this but yea

Imagine you’re an archeologist in the future going through these ancient civilisations and trying to discover the history of Pro-Heroes who fought AFO and saved the world centuries ago. Paving the way for new generations and civilisations to continue on, and build over the megaliths and ruins of the old city of Musutafu.
Most people think it’s just stories that people share with their kids about how Pro-Hero Deku and Dynamight saved the world and became the worlds greatest heroes, a fun myth that weaves into the real history. But you believe it to be true, and that’s why you’re currently excavating in some of the forgotten ruins of Musutafu.
But what you don’t expect is to find the marked grave of the once powerful hero Dynamight, who was nothing more than a story until you were in front of his epitaph. And as you read the inscription seared into the wall, you definitely don’t expect him to wake up—

lol so this girl from my old uni class copied me by getting spiders (she was adamant on hating them) and her jumping spider is very unsociable which is concerning
considering they’re one of the most curious spiders out there. out of all 7 of my jumping spiders, all from different broods, none of them have been unsociable

every time rwby stuff gets recommended to me i remember how fucking obnoxious i find it that that fandom has quarantined off all criticism into its own tag. i’m so happy rvb is a hater fandom and we put all our grievances in the main tag i think i’d die otherwise

if the yjs keeps its 5 season plan and continues dropping a new season at the rate of every 2 years, they’ll have to shift from a wilderness-teen timeline to a post-crash young adult timeline. or else we’re going to be seeing 38 year old kevin alves and the others in their mid 30s in s5 (2029 release) out in the wilderness like

Do people really think that Crowley - who wore his little outfit with the sleeve garters and cardigan, who was so nice to Jim even though he didn’t want to be, that told whom he assumed was a customer that he would not be selling them any books, that seemed to be doing more work in the bookshop than we’ve EVER seen Aziraphale do, was actually tossing those priceless old books around and not miracling them to safety? He would never. Let’s be serious, those tossed stacks ended up in perfect little piles on some shelf or chair somewhere.

Speaking of addicts
You are not a activist if you think drug addicts who are homeless had it coming
You are not a good person if you think drug addicts are dangerous or disgusting
You do not believe in “my body, my choice” if you try to pressure a drug addict into quitting
You are not a compassionate person if you think that you’re somehow above drug addicts because you don’t do drugs

i say this with all the kindness i can muster. the way some of y’all take with complete earnestness the statements made by characters who have been proven to be unsavoury/villainous/evil/(insert other suitable adjectives here) to be word-of-god factual is deeply concerning actually. like fiction is fiction and this is far from being an accusation about the morality of those who are curious about/compelled by the motivations of immoral characters. this is a deep concern i have for people who exist in a time where media of all kinds, fiction and nonfiction, is used to embed values in its audience. a concern i have for existing among people who don’t even question the truth/accuracy of statements made by the textual villains of stories before accepting them.

having favorite characters from media with vastly different ideas on morality or like anything ever is so much fun. here’s blorbo bingus who actively kills everyone he doesn’t like and here’s grongo buppy who believes in the magic of friendship and forgiveness and they’re best friends to me

really hate the idea that “oh you’re valid for having mental health issues but only if you’re constantly working on them and Never letting them get the better of you”
like. fuck off that’s not how it works. sometimes my anxiety wins. sometimes my depression wins. sometimes my ocd wins. and sometimes it happens more often than I wish it did. sometimes I fall and break and can’t immediately force myself to get back up. sometimes it’s too much and I can’t get my brain going again. stop telling me I have to be a Good™️ mentally ill person and always have to try and be a functioning, perfect human being in order to be valid. sometimes my mental illness pushes me to the absolute breaking point and I can’t just take a rest day and be completely, utterly fine the next, or even the one after. if anything trying to do that just makes it worse sometimes

Reasons I Don’t Ship Craig/Marco
Marco deserves a whole lot better than Craig effing Manning :)
Just as most people here rightly respect people being canonically LGBTQ+ by not head cannoning that they’re straight, I generally respect straight people’s stated sexuality too and don’t usually feel comfortable deciding that they’re gay or bi when they tell/show us otherwise
Craig can be a semi-decent guy in certain contexts, but as a love interest he’s absolute trash over and over and seemingly without ever improving, so I honestly don’t ship him with anyone except a better therapist :)
Marco had a front row seat to the Crellie drama for years and would NEVER betray his very best friend by entering a relationship with the guy she’s been in love with for such a long time.
Marco is hesitant about a lot of things and needs someone solid who he can fully trust and rely on. Even at the best of times, that’s not Craig :)
