jackman is such a good album. 24 minutes long and every track is so good and so raw. i do not take like most of anthony fantanos opinions seriously anyways but the low score on this one especially was such a bad take.

Top Surgery pre op information

some warnings that links contain obvs discussion of surgery and in-depth information on procedures however no graphic images unless you check the pre/post op links on the second website.

I've recently had my first consultation and now waiting for surgery and though I knew what I wanted and what to ask I still wish I had this information before hand just to talk that bit more in depth with my surgeon of what I wanted out of the surgery.

I'm just putting these here as a easy go to resource information check for those who are waiting or considering surgery, cause I know, at least with my own experience with the Uk healthcare system they give little to no information regarding surgical procedures.

The first podcast link is a bit more geared to the Uk health services but still useful information none the less. (I was a patient with GenderGp whilst awaiting treatment with the NHS and found their service absolutely wonderful and a great lifeline to me)

hope this saves some time for some folks instead of having to scramble through different websites and forums

heyo! saw ur tags about top surgery and just to throw my experience in: i got it with dr. ntanos in manchester, it took about a year from my psych appointment to the surgery itself and it all (including the psych appointment) cost about £8000 total xoxo

Thank you so much for this info! Honestly I wasn’t even sure where to start with it all outside of the NHS. I already get my hormones privately because the waiting list is just toooo long. The price is just under what I expected I’d need to pay tho so it’s good to know!

I watched F*ntano's review of 1989 TV and did we listen to the same album???? Like I don't understand how you can say it is the only rerecording that is a letdown compared to the og and that it is the worst rerecording to date????¿¿¿??? Like clearly he probably didn't listen to the og RED album a lot because some songs on RED TV were kinda .... 💀 Honestly he says all that but he probably hasn't listened to 1989 more than 3 times so I don't get this review 🤪

Five Year Update

It seems like people are still finding this blog from time to time, so I thought I’d post an update for my chest’s fifth birthday today.

There isn’t really much to say in terms of my chest itself. It hasn’t changed very much in the last two years, but the scars have continued to fade and flatten and I think the area where the stitch got infected is less obvious. My body has changed because I’ve been on a low does of testosterone (on and off, but about 18 months total), though I don’t think it has affected the shape of my chest much. 

In terms of where the UK is at with top surgery for nonbinary people, it seems to be a double-edged sword where gender clinics have become more open to the diversity of trans experiences over the last five years, but at the same time the infrastructure of NHS gender clinics is in complete collapse, so it doesn’t make any fucking difference becuase people can’t access treatment in any reasonable timescale. For me, it took 3 years and 8 months from referall to the clinic to having my surgery, which now sounds supersonic when you consider that my partner who was referred in 2018, waited four years just to have an initial appointment, by which point they had been on private hormone treatment for 2 years.

Trans care isn’t the only area of the NHS that is suffering under the tories, obviously, but it does seem to be an area at the forefront of defacto privitasiation because people are desperate for treatment that is just not being made available.

Which is just to say, I am aware that I am very lucky to have got this life-changing surgery when and where I did, and I’m rooting hard for everyone out there who is struggling to access the care they need.

Although my surgeon, Grit Dabritz does not seem to offer private top surgery as far as I am aware, Ioannis Ntanos, who works with her at the same hospital in Manchester, does. I’ve heard positive things about him, so for those in the UK looking for private top surgeons, he could be worth considering.

Oh man I appreciate Channel 5’s latest couple of videos bringing these things into more non black ppl’s views and like. Showing how our lives and a certain lifestyle is commercialized and trotted around like the latest funny trend the niggers are doing for everyone else. Especially interesting to see these white guy’s opinions on it (not that it matters lol) but funny that as much as I can’t stand f*ntano i like how he actually…made sense with his views on drill and why ppl act the way they do as opposed to the no jumper guy say it’s a negative for society (he said more than that but fuck man what r u on shut up).

Also also interesting that he points out how white folks take this music as a joke and a show for their amusement and then turn around and try to say it’s corrupting the youth or whatever. I do hope that this opens some eyes for ppl to ya know.
