Being a Storyteller really is magnificent, because I can present my players with the most traumatised baby of a man, grappling with destiny and fate, desperate for love but unable to fight for it, doomed by the narrative and then immediately after, a Gangrel who's shapeshifted into a cat stalking said traumatised man.

And the best thing is there's another cat Gangrel, and they have the same sire, who can also shapeshift into a cat. And calls her childer her pride and joy, despite the fact one has left the sect.

With Savathûn hiding behind dozens upon dozens of names and titles everone around refers to her by, I imagine nobody really uses just her actual, plain name. Even Xivu calls her Sister (derogatory). And then Immaru comes around, with his straightforwardness and the gift of Light-oblivion, and is like "yeah you're Savathûn, my guardian" and she's like "ok fair I'm gonna call you Light albeit in a somewhat convoluted way" (again, hiding behind names that are just a little bit to the left of what they mean). He's seen her at her most confused and vulnerable, and they're always together now, as Savathûn begins to grow a new mantle of names and titles. I like to think that he is under that mantle.

Names have always been a way for her to keep people at arm's length, precisely where she wanted them, and in that enact her power over them because she would control the side of her that they interacted with, and it would always be but a mantle she could change or shed if needed. But the only person who has ever held power over Savathûn and got closer than at arm's reach was Oryx, her king and big brother, and so I imagine he would not have to come up with circuitous definitions to capture her essence, he would look at her and describe her shape as Savathûn, and would be true in that.

NPCS: THE LITTLE PRINCE !

livvy’s beloved sort-of cat and problematic fav. he might terrorize the mailman and regularly get into fights with raccoons as well as hiss and spit at every man who so much as breathes around him, but livvy will insist that he really is the sweetest kitty she knows and that he just needs a little love and patience.

when she first found him, he was a scraggly kitten in a dumpster and she brought him home in her coat. spent the evening coaxing him out from under her dresser with tuna fish a warm damp rag that she used to clean him up. she still has a nasty looking scar on her left palm for her troubles, but she’s never held it against him. after all, she knows what it’s like to be small and afraid.

he’s now a common presence on the barnette’s expansive property; whether he’s taking swipes at the delivery driver’s ankles from under the parked car or lounging in a well manicured tree. often he’ll curl up with livvy at night protectively and purr like a lowlaying thunder storm coming on over the valley’s hills.

rp notes- he stinks of fish somehow more than the stall. talks without pronouncing his 'h's. Takes pride in his fresh stock. Secretly the best cook ... although all he cooks is fish based meals. Will do favours for the finest sea salt.

Might have made a bad decision to flesh them out this much.. will leave it to future me to regret.
