So, I turned 44 this past Tuesday. . We are all asked to stay inside and away from people. I have no problem with this. . What I have a problem with is this. Outside is trying to kill me. I'm working remotely, and able to spend my lunch hour not looking at a monitor, but drawing or raking my backyard. . Behind that forehead and eyeballs, the mucus is solid. I was just trying to clean up my yard. But no. Outside kicks my allergies that I didn't have 30 years ago, into a battle of bands with Pressure playing bass and Mucus on the drums. . Yesterday’s gravel ride. Sadly, I’ve come down with a case of the Crud so Wayne kindly cut the day short at 133 miles. Fortunately, I’ve tested negative for COVID. But regardless, sneezing and hacking in a helmet and over comms is a bit unpleasant. Despite feeling less than 100% we did travel over several mountains next to some impressively intimating drop offs. Some of the climbs we found bordered on intense. “Don’t fall down because I don’t think I can stop on this.” I heard over comms as I was in the lead position on a particularly steep descent. I have to say my body clearly wants to die since it would only force an uncontrollable sneeze on deep gravel switchbacks next to fear inducing drop offs. There are many waterfalls here, some truly magical.
