Mind you when I was a kid at all girls summer camp I was jealous as fuck of the girl who got to play Seymour in our bunks production of Little Shop….. she had a dreadful trembly little soprano voice, I was genuinely a lot better, I felt like they only cast her because she had like F cup tiddies, although in retrospect that doesn’t really make sense for the role of Seymour. We were like 12 years old…… Anyway they Naturally cast me in another male role, I was the DENTIST. the director that year was this incredibly mean and spiteful and self-serious gay guy called Phil I think. He kept us late for rehearsal because he felt like this musical being put on by a cast of 12 year old girls with 1 week to prepare it was going to turn out to be not very good, I don’t know why. And he yelled at me. He said, “you don’t seem like an evil dentist, you seem like a little girl PRETENDING to be an evil dentist!” And I was like that’s what I am, and that’s what I am doing, Phil……. I really was feeling fly (for a white guy etc) tonight in my little outfit and glasses, which I don’t usually wear out. Then I went to the bathroom and pulled my mask down and who did I see in the mirror but, well, suddenly Seymour. Suddenly. POOR!
