#thinking of dinosaurs and troodontids were my favorite dinosaurs as a child #when younger i had a real full troodontid tooth fossil that meant a lot to me #for a time we lived within a few kilometers of hadrosaur sites and troodontid sites #while wider general area had many sites of recovery for the big celebrities like tyrannosaur and multiple dromaeosaurs #at that time troodontids were kinda infamous for i think the depiction in some childrens field guides and dino books #which depicted like a fantasy speculative humanoid troodontid based on 1980s model at Canadian Museum of Nature in ottawa #anyway would visit a small local paleo center a lot and woman in her 70s or 80s ran the counter of their center and rock shop #one day she asked me what my fave dino was and i said troodon so she pulled out the tooth and just gifted it to me #in little black case size of ring box with padding and transparent plastic viewing cover kinda like laminate for displaying a trading card #tooth got stolen from out my vehicle while giving some people a ride while at university before i got too poor for tuition #later during first year of pandemic owner of my storage unit died and new property owners threw away everything i ever owned #i was homeless anyway lost job due to early pandemic closures and had to allocate any money to insulin and other prescrip meds #but wouldve found a way to save my things if the new owners had contacted me #they threw out photoalbums y backpacking gear y books y musical instruments y clothes y artwork y camera y all family keepsakes #and all childhood treasures like souvenirs and gifts and school awards and writing portfolios and all the little memories #which i was always sentimental about as child #from earliest age my room looked like a natural history museum with plants and maps and library of field guides #and rocks and field trip keepsakes and all kinds of little animal figurines and mother had painted room in forest greens and browns #to feel like a forest and among the succulent plants and a globe sat the troodon tooth #parents passed when i was a child #never near any family and were always moving never got to settle into proper stable place then father passed after long sad illness #and mother put in so much effort but she passed few years later and i could not take care of myself or my remaining material possessions #and so im still quite hurt having nothing whatsoever remaining of my childhood or school friends or mother or life generally #and when trying to process grief my thoughts often come back to the troodontid tooth as a focal point a distillation of what was lost #even when young i knew it was advised not to become too connected to material physical possessions #but still there are some small little trinkets in our lives that seem to hold so much meaning and i tortured myself for losing that tooth #thinking about troodon reminds me of childhood

How about, instead of Sam Claflin playing Finnick's dad in a prequel, he plays older Finnick in a sequel, living happily with Annie and their son (played by that same young actor you guys fancast as 14yo Finnick). Suzanne massively blundered by killing him in the books and the films didn't correct this, but there's still a chance: they could just say that the story told in the original trilogy was wrong. This could also be a good way to show what the rest of characters got up to, like Johanna, Gale, Effie etc.

I know UMG is garbage with the merch orders generally but they replied almost instantly to the two orders I just cancelled and refunded immediately and I'm very impressed right now.

(Now I'm trying to decide if I really do want to re-order them with combined shipping or if I should take this as a sign to be fiscally and environmentally responsible and not order additional variants after all lol)

#on the other hand that means my orders weren't even close to being processed #which means i wouldn't have been getting them anywhere close to release day anyway lol #to clarify: I usually just buy one vinyl with my favourite cover #and sometimes one CD to play in my car if it has the songs I want and I love the artwork #(e.g. I bought 1989tv on cd but i didn't get midnights because my favourite songs are on 3am which aren't even on any physical copies #so i just burned it instead lol) #but i love the packaging of ttpd so much! #trying to tell myself the trinkets don't matter and the photos will all be online soon enough #but this is the first time i've legit wanted all the variants #i think if i had to choose i would have gotten just the manuscript deluxe cd and the black dog vinyl #i have 20 hours to think about it lol

#I have.... a Vision for my next puppy surprise customization #basically I want to take the two with the most obnoxious color schemes (one is marbled pink/blue/yellow/purple with pink/white hair) #(the other is like pink and purple confetti with purple/pink/teal hair) split them both down the middle and swap halves #and then sew them back together so they're like inverse of each other #and then turn them into little clown dogs with like neck ruffles and bells and face paint etc #idk where the idea came from. I'm usually not into clowncore but I keep looking at them and just thinking 'these are destined to be clowns' #and now that I have a pattern for the babies based on the kittens... I could grab some puppy heads from the puppy pile #and make them some little clownlets #the only problem is like........ I need fabric and trinkets and such 😭 #the downside of being brand new to a crafty hobby is that you don't have a stockpile of supplies. you just have to keep spending money #and I don't have money right now!! I was supposed to get a raise this month but it only JUST got approved #so I won't be seeing any increase until next month #but anyway... I can still start..... I can disassemble things.......

Keyleth had learned during Vox Machina’s first Winter together – way before they were called Vox Machina – that the twins were not used to severe cold. She also discovered how cuddly and touchy Vax was during the Winter, which made her fall even harder for him.

During their days of traveling on the road and sleeping under the thick canopy of trees, Keyleth would turn into Minxie, and, together with Trinket, they would make a twin sandwich to keep them warm during the night, however, because she was still learning how to control her beast shape, Keyleth would often wake up back in her half-elven body, with another half-elf attached to her like a clam. It always endeared her how Vax sought her warmth during the night after she returned to her regular body. 

And then they were given a Keep, a stone castle that didn’t do much to stave off the cold winters of Emon, and, while they each had their own room, Vax always knew where to find her – usually in front of the large fireplace in the living room – on the coldest nights, during which they would trade stories, share blankets and snacks, and drink wine until the crackling logs lulled them to sleep, waking up wrapped in each other’s arms the next morning with a sense of mortification that would spread throughout the day.

But then Whitestone happened, and Keyleth found herself walking the dark and frigid halls of the castle by herself, wondering if Vax was also awake and if he was cold. She would find her way to his bedroom door, standing in front of it hemming and hawing with her thoughts and the desire to knock and curl into his soft, silky bedsheets and wrap herself around him. She couldn’t deny it: she had gotten used to his cold body pressed against her during the frigid nights they had shared.

Although Winter was mostly gone, Scanlan’s mansion had been a blessing in hard times, not only for providing some sense of security but also for comfort while on the road. It took a while, a few trials and errors, but eventually, Vax found his way back to Keyleth’s bed and her to his, claiming insomnia at first, then cold – which they both knew was a lie – and then just desire to hold the other.

Seasons came and went, and Winter approached again. This time, Keyleth laid on a soft and comfortable bed, watching the sliver of sunlight that peeked through the thick, dark curtains of her home – their home – while Vax’s familiar cold body pressed hard against her, his breathing calm and so warm against the exposed skin of her chest as Vax slept peacefully.

Keyleth smiled when Vax nuzzled his nose against her neck, crawling further towards her like a cat in front of the fire. His cold hands found her bare butt and squeezed softy with a hint of a smile against her neck. 

“How much longer do you plan on using me as your personal space heater?” Keyleth asked, her voice still gravely with sleep but sweet and full of amusement.

“So warm,” Another nuzzle and another squeeze. “You are fire.”

“Be careful, love,” Keyleth tenderly brushed Vax’s hair away from his face so she could see his smile. “Don’t get burned.”

“Never,” Vax lifted his gaze to her lips and smiled mischievously. “You have always been fire, so warm and comfortable. Even when naked.”

Vax’s lips found Keyleth’s as he pinned her to the mattress, the length of his body covering hers, and suddenly, Keyleth was fire and on fire, in more than one way and much to their pleasure.
