Whenever I am coming down from being not sober (weed, pogg) I get so silly soppy and heartsick for people I've formerly had crushes on or who I have been in non-platonic roles with that have fallen off or couldn't continue for any reason. Like I get all sad and wistful for what could have been, my brain really can't get over itself when I'm in that mindset.

I can't say anything directly about said situations because that would be uncomfortable but there are people I was previously intimate with that slightly-high-and-tired-brain really wishes I could hug. Maybe smooch a little. I have so much affection and I wish it was possible to share it more.

Comics this week?

Knight Terrors: First Blood - Picked this up just to get some context for the Superman/Action and Zatanna tie-ins. Great art but a boring story. Insomnia being another "you heroes are the REAL monsters" doesn't do anything for me. This is Deathstroke Inc. Williamson instead of his great showing with Superman and his soild handling of Green Arrow. DC needing another event to buy time for themselves is pretty pathetic, especially since they barely even started Dawn of DC before interrupting it.

Steelworks #2 - I appreciated how Silver Mist's benefactor made sure Mist couldn't use his powers against him before bestowing them. Good job not grabbing the villain ball.

X-Men #24 - Don't care about that dumb meme character Pogg, fuck it I'm out. Totally bored of Duggan's writing, if I have to read his book to get some context for the X-line then I might. More likely I'll drop the X-Books entirely at this point.

X-Men: Before The Fall: Sinister Four - Least this was good. Stasis being involved in, but not entirely responsible for, the various superhumans works for me. That's his area of study, it's what he should be bringing to the table instead of being a High Evolutionary knock-off with human/animal hybrids like Duggan writes him. Enjoyed how Stasis came across as a competent here, another difference from Duggan. Righteous came in expecting to play him, and instead he played her. She tried to enthrall him with a thank you and not only did he sidestep that, he's aiming to get her under his thumb. All that and the two seem to have genuine feelings for each other (hard to tell with how manipulative both are). Stasis as the one who does feel actual affection and remorse is a solid way of differentiating him from Sinister. Good that he's got his own little goal to work towards outside of Orchis, especially with Orchis primed for ascendancy in the next era. And he and Stellaris are already collaborating as well, that makes things even more interesting if he didn't share that info with Orchis.

Fantastic Four #9 - This issue is Alicia's, and I greatly appreciated how useful she was without having to give her superpowers.

Doctor Strange #5 - Clea potentially having to take care of her sister intrigues me. Strange getting to put assholes in their place never gets old. Wish this run was getting better sales, McKay deserves a 50 issue run on Strange that could be the definitive take on the character.

PRINS ZONDER CARNAVAL

McCloud 1st has been a lover of Belgian Folklore since day one of arriving in the country.

Musician, artist & potter, since 2008 the prins has visited many events: Meyboom Brussels & Leuven, Carnaval of Binche, 15 Août à Liège, Krakelingen en Tonnekensbrand Geraardsbergen, The Game of Saint Evermiere, Hanswijkprocessie Mechelen, Procession des Pénitents Noirs Lessines, Fête des Myrtilles Vielsalm, La Marche de Loverval, Le Bethléem of Verviers, among others… Amassing a collection of over 200 books, visitor of a number of folklore museums in cities such as Gent, Brugge, Binche, Stavelot, Virton, Tournai, Mons, Mechelen, Waterloo… It was only natural that they would start participating in this rich culture by creating with Rutger de Brabander,  Vrienden van Vrienden van Pogge in 2014, a fan club of the Amis de Pogge and their mascot, Pogge of Schaerbeek.

McCloud has gone on to participate in Scharnaval, the Hanswijk Cavalcade, organise parades in Dunkerque, France & Suzhou, China & create a parade version of the Royal Pole Archery Gilde Sint Sebastiaan for the Carnaval of Charleroi.

McCloud has written songs about the Couque de Dinant, Boulet Sauce Lapin, Choux de Bruxelles, La Gueuze, Le Chicon & personalities such as Les Gilles, Les Poirais de Tilft, Tchantches, Pietje & Woltje, He has made three shows about Pogge with handmade puppets and not least, has been an active member of the Royal Pole Archery Guild of Saint Sebastiaan, Becoming King in 2017 & 2022 and active as Feestbestuur (party organiser) since 2019.

Nominated by Tim Wouters, Capitian of the Gilde Sint Sebastiaan, McCloud took the chance and became Prince Carnaval of Schaerbeek on 12 March 2020, two days before the Corona pandemic lockdown and the subsequent cancelation of the carnaval. The Scharnaval has been cancelled in 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023 resulting in the title "PRINS ZONDER CARNAVAL" (prince without a carnival).

Tekniik:

Sentient TV

His arms are Like That because he is a functional robot and doesn't need pretty arms (I think they're still pretty tho)

Low power usage for efficiency but it's always higher than it should be because he insists on displaying a rainbow screen all the time (sometimes when the children are having a bad day he plays cartoons from discs they find)

Terrible audio quality from improper care, and his antenna is broken so it can't access the radio (hence he only plays discs)

Can see in the dark and crawls around like a cryptid to scare people

His success is… questionable, but it works on Dylqn, one of the only other people who can see in the dark, every time.

Fyroah:

Walking space heater pogg

The vents give off? (Exhale? Idk what the word is) warm air so the other robots tend to latch onto him when it's cold

His head wasn't always on fire. He exploded one day bc of a gas leak, killing his owners (still feels guilty about that bc they were somewhat nice to him), and he's been on fire ever since.

After the explosion he repaired himself (very badly) and somehow made the fire permanent. It drains his power supply very fast and he's always charging because of that

He has always been able to shoot fire though. It's a cool party trick and the flamethrowing bits can retract to become hands (albeit clumsy ones but good enough)

I didn't draw this but he moves around on wheels. Rollerskating his way downtown.

He can fly, technically, by readjusting his flamethrowers to shoot downwards but it's hard to control and he crashed a hole in the ceiling when he tried

Mustard:

Made to be a child's companion, like a friend :D

I realise I don't have much background about this world but basically there are humans and robots… and that's about it I don't think ahead

Seriously I just make up stuff I'm making Mustard's lore up right now

Anyway the children stuck stickers on him! And he doesn't take them off even though he's left them already, because it's a nice reminder of the good memories he has

He's short (same height as the kids)

As they grew he got repairs (? upgrades?) and basically got extended so he's not as short as like a ten year old lmao

He actually went to school with the human children! Learnt a bunch of stuff and also crashed the computers by accidentally installing a virus... whoops

Silverr:

Created by an astronomer, hence the constellation like patterns on his wings

Yes he is modelled after Aries cmon it was right there

The wings are retractable by folding inwards

His arms are attached on top of them and they're like the claw machine grabby arms :D

The lights blink occasionally, they haven't figured out why but Silverr's mostly sure it has to do with the planets or stars or something

No clear vision; he mostly relies on radar and sound to navigate, but his 'face' can kind of sense a change in lighting

I like his green, grey, and white scheme very much
