Wow. Very impressive to give thoughts from my P-pal’s favorite racing cars in Gran Turismo series. Of course, I’ve seen his from his previous “On This Day” post before back in last year’s October. (Not bad effect, by the way 😉.)

Anyways, appreciate to see for his favorite racing car in Gran Turismo games. Though hopefully someday if other variants will come back in later games in the near future.

Good morning favorite buddy /hj

Sun is actually quite used to kidnapping cases, as it, sadly, happens more commonly than you’d think. He first asks the child if there were any change of plans or if they know the person that is trying to take them. He asks because sometimes unregistered people do come to pick kids up without malicious intent. Aunts, uncles, fathers/mothers that are trying to get into their kid’s lives after being absent/away- you name it, it’s probably happened.

However, if a child states that they do not know the adult, Sun becomes VERY suspicious. He scans the kidnapper for any sign of relation to the child, and, at this point, has pulled the kid away to put himself between the culprit and their victim. If they’ve gotten this far on the wrong side of the process, no relations come up, more often than not.

He also scans the person’s records to see if they have a past of criminal activity/kidnapping cases.

During this whole undercover scanning procedure, Sun is asking the adult various questions pertaining to the child to test if they truly know them.

As their caretaker, Sun ends up knowing most things about the kids he cares for. So, he knows what questions to ask. The more questions they get wrong, the more Sun becomes impatient.

Finally he gets to the point where he politely asks them to leave. If they insist upon trying to take the kid, Sun will threaten to call security, or possibly even the authorities.

This usually gets the kidnappers jogging nervously out the doors, but, if they are REALLY persistent, Sun will do just as he said- call the authorities via internal com-link as he tells security to remove the “lawbreaker and deceiver”, as he calls them. Oooo, we goin from breaking rules to breaking laws! Upgrades, people, upgrades!

Moon is much less patient. A short and simple conversation is all he needs to determine if this is a trusted adult or a sneaky little suspect.

M: Are you related to this child?

K: Of course! (Lie)

M: What is their name?

K: Uhhhhhhhh

M: Get out.

Is how it usually goes lol HOWEVER if they get past his first inspection, he does end up digging deeper. He doesn’t let the kid go unless he recognizes a face, name, or relationship status. Even under normal circumstances when he isn’t faced with a possible kidnapper. He’s very cautious, as various run-ins with kidnappers, burglars, armed intruders and such have since put him on edge.

The kidnapper doesn’t even get a hand on the kid before Moon is booting them out the door like last weeks rancid trash. The rest of the day, he will be nervous and sometimes Sun has to pull him aside during naptime to help him calm down. These conversations happen internally, but they still help to ease Moon’s nerves. Sun shares his anxiety.

At times, both boys are eerily silent within their systems after closing, staring at the doors. Waiting. Watching.

Even though all the kids have been picked up, that nervousness remains. It sits like a stone within them, eating away at their common sense until all the kids return the next morning, safe and sound with their REAL parents and families.

Yet, the question always hovers over the back of their processors…

Looking back in my time of playing video games on PS2 in mid 2000s, I played some good games such as NFS Underground 1, GTA3, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, Gran Turismo 4, Resident Evil 4, Burnout 3, etc.

I also remember I played games I didn't like such as: The Italian Job,The Getaway, Warhammer 40K Fire Warrior, 50 Cent Bulletproof, 187 Ride or Die, etc.

And then, I've played…

DRIV3R.

Oh boi…

I played it for so many hours. At that time, I didn't know why I kept playing it for more like a year and I felt like a moron that I shouldn't play it for extra hours. But I did.

I didn't pay attention to the internet a lot of the bad things and I didn't get why GameSpot gave 5.4 out of 10 score on PS2.

I was stupid back then.

Then I remember the things of why this game was bad and that GameSpot score made sense: 1) If you go inside the bar, just staying in the middle of the corridor, open the door, you see two dudes inside of the bar but you don't get inside of the bar, but the crosshair indicates with red color aiming at them as enemy AI. I shot them with my default unlimited ammo pistol and they didn't fire me back. So, in short, the enemy AI was piss-poor in various moments.

2) The car physics are questionable often. Wrecked cars are visible if you hit an obstacle or take damage. I like that.

3) Characters' animation are stiff that they barely felt alive.

4) I've encountered some small bugs here and there. Like the game was rushed.

5) Hiring some well-known actors/actresses didn't cut it in DRIV3R. (Michael Madsen, Mickey Rourke, Michelle Rodriguez, Ving Rhames and Iggy Pop are some examples. I have no disrespect to them)

6) I didn't like the story. The characters are pretty much stale as hell, that I forgot their names. The ending was tasteless.

7) The "realism" graphics didn't click me and the environment's texture was mediocre. So I felt apathetic.

last but not least...

Well, I do like the licensed soundtrack on the cutscenes and the main menu, except when you free roam in three cities alone.

So, what did I do after the story mode (Undercover) is over?

I took a ride for a shitload of hours.

I was pretending to be kind to the NPCs in three cities, Then I was killing one of those Tom----Timmy Vermicelli, finding secret cars, race a track on Go-kart for some odd reason, and so on…

That was the reason I spent the majority of hours on DRIV3R. It was the fun thing I had.

So, I stopped to play it and I moved on to…

Years later, I played Driver Parallel Lines.

The 70s funk/rock music, 2006 Era music, New York City, The Kid, crime, circuit races, street races, the day to night cycle, side-jobs…

The story? Ehh, I thought it was serviceable, but it's there.

But, man. This was so much better than DRIV3R.

It's not magnificent, but I like it.

NFS Undercover OST: Innerpartysystem - “This Empty Love” (instrumental version) - original version

As mentioned in my last post, I love this song by Innerpartysystem. Before grabbing the links for reference, I had no idea there was an instrumental version.

Hooooly shit, this is so good. The original already has a very sultry-seductive, yet ominous, tone to it. Like you’re waking from a dream that’s slipping from your memory - one that was disturbing but also a siren’s call. (I’ve had a lot of dreams like that.)

The original video (tw: flashing lights) pairs well with this hazy/sexy feeling. If you get a notice about “age restriction”, it’s because... well, someone’s out-of-frame, doing things to cause Stoya make those faces. *blush*

Hearing the thumping rhythm more clearly, the song has a cadence of someone walking with determination. They’re on a mission, probably to kick some ass. As the chorus’s tones slip in, it’s like the person walking is remembering the painful reasons that he’s on a mission to kick ass, revenge or guilt.

The original is waking up after a drunken night, with hazy memories and a feeling of loneliness at the end. The instrumental is a determined mission to redeem one’s self, after failing to protect someone. It climaxes with the ass-kicking scene, then catching their breath, while wiping away blood from their face.

In both versions, I always think of that opening and closing tone as clock chimes.

Chaseton is the second born to a set of twins, his brother, Crofton, was older by 13 minutes exactly.

Unfortunately home was rough, his dad was a dealer and his mom was honestly just some girl who never left. They were never in love.

Around ten months later he got another brother, half brother, Theodore.

Unfortunately at the same time as gaining a little brother they lost their mom.

At a young age him and his brother, Crofton, did everything for themselves, got themselves to school and kept up appearances.

His little brother, Theo, came only over when his dad brought him over to buy from Chess’ dad. 

When Miles lost Theo they did their best to stay in touch, no one else really understood their situation like these three.

His brother, Crofton had a slew of mental health issues that he hid very well, so well in fact that his dad didn’t even know. 

Crofton would self medicate, smoking, shooting up, and snorting anything to make it go away, and because Chaseton and him were so close he definitely followed his brother down the rabbit hole.

They were sixteen when they ran away from home, living on the streets, it wasn’t long before gang life found them. They became drug traffickers for some very bad and scary people, but of course, Chaseton being the terribly cocky individual he was, though he could get away with shorting his boss’ by stealing some of they money he earned them as well as drugs here and there.

They managed to get away with it for almost a year before they found out. Crofton and Chaseton were staying in a motel when their place was raided, Chaseton was out running some errands when they raided, he walked in right as his brother was shot. 

They gave him a week to get all their money back, so he did the only thing he could do, he ran off.

Eventually he got arrested for dealing at twenty one, but instead of putting him away they found value in him.

He was offered the position of an undercover cop. They gave him an apartment above a bar, gave him the bar and after that it was his job to report any nefarious actions to take down drug dealer in the city.

Despite it being his job to stop these people he more found it a hall pass to do what he wanted, as long as he checked in and gave up names every now and again, they left him alone.

He has high highs and very low lows, sometimes going into these dark depressions where he falls off the grid for weeks at a time, held up in his house, alone, trying to forget all the horrible things of his past.

Because off all this, Chaseton is terrified of being alone, he knows that everyone will leave him, so he tries to keep everyone close, but not too close in fear of them finding out all his secrets. He’s an odd person, who makes a game out of almost everything in life, never letting anything get too serious. And even though he loves hard, you will almost never be able to tell that he does.

NFS Unbound - The best racing game in January 2023

Neon clouds of spray paint and comic book-inspired graffiti greet you at the start, along with thundering Drum n' Bass beats and a high-speed flashy release that sets the tone for Need for Speed Unbound. The campaign game begins with a fascinatingly detailed character designer, and it is followed by a fairly meaty introduction that introduces the game's main heroes and lays the foundation for the tense campaign's plot.

Story The story mode of NFS Unbound is the game's core, a nearly unbearably boring story of vengeance, betrayal, and retribution set in the city's lucrative, ego-driven world of nightclubs and dangerous folk. The character of the player's choice embarks on the most hilariously predictable and shockingly cliche narrative imaginable – one that will come as no surprise to anyone familiar with famous thespian Vin Diesel's cutscene oeuvre. As you progress in the game, game profits (whether collected on the roads or at the bookies) can be used on a massive collection of vehicles and improvements, along with the user gunning through a strict accreditation routine and obtaining the machinery appropriate to qualify for the city's top street circuits. As Lakeshore becomes more accessible to the public, a variety of side goals and work-for-hire opportunities are available, ranging from acquiring hot-wheels (not necessarily those dildos) away from the city and under the watchful eye of the feds to developing into the highest-rated Uber driver in the annals. These quests all offer specific rewards, including unlocking new safehouses and the opportunity to access more cars and upgrades.

Gameplay The overall experience of playing the game here is superb. "Unbound" is by far my favorite experience playing the NFS recreation since I tried "Undercover" in senior high. The racing is firm, close-quartered, and disorganized. Operating low-speed routes, water tunnels, and high-speed interstates is akin to chopping up asphalt. Handling the cars is an enjoyable process of learning (like with cars). It is possible to ensure the auto handles better or make adjustments for drifting in specific situations without additionally acquiring improvements or segments. For a car enthusiast, this component is beneficial to enjoy. not closed into one system because you're not able to afford sections. Yes, those sections would assist, but it's not the end of the game. BuyGames sell cheap PS5 sports games.

Graphics The video game has chosen to go for one-of-a-kind graphics this time around, setting it apart from the majority of racing video games available. It is a one-level boost meter that may not be much different from the usual turbo capabilities; however, pulling off the right combo long enough to reach the next or third stage can have a significant impact on the position you are in during the race. This might seem confusing to need to balance two meters at a time and also race at incredibly fast speeds, but pulling off a Level Two boost after stopping in a long trudge around a turn or a Level Three boost after effectively jumping a great height will be incredibly satisfying and add a layer of depth to the enjoyable and refined driving physics.

Conclusion The PlayStation 5 version is visually very good and delivers a charming 60-frame rate throughout the city.
