Hello! AU where Iruma was adopted by Sullivan as a baby, please!

oh so many options here...

1- Iruma’s parents misplace a baby. Sullivan decides it’s not like they’d miss him anyway, and brings him back home. Iruma has no clue how awful his parents were. In fact, he never knows anything about them- it’s always just been him, Grandpa, Opera, and Ali-san. When a tiny Iruma asks where he came from, Grandpa Sullivan says he wished so hard for a grandson, and found Iruma the next day. It’s technically not a lie... But it’s far from the truth.

2- Baby Iruma’s clothes are all laundered in that perfume to keep the human scent off. The Ring of Soloman, where Ali-san lives, is kept on a beaded necklace, almost constantly on him. He grows up speaking the language of the demons. Opera and Sullivan teach him how to read, and how to cast spells. Over time, the perfume is needed less and less often. This Iruma doesn’t have that uncanny dodging ability. But some things don’t change- Iruma could still eat forever, bottomless stomach.

3- Iruma doesn’t go out in public very often. Sometimes he’ll be watched at Bablys by a teacher or other staff member, and Sullivan often would invite some of his young friends over to visit, so he wasn’t lonely. But he didn’t get out much either. The one exception is for his birthday every year, when Sullivan can’t resist from throwing extravagant and huge birthday parties. It feels a little weird to Iruma, the strangers who thank him for being born, but he likes all the food and getting to see all his friends at once!

4- Of course the Thirteen Crowns are all invited to his party too. On his sixth birthday, Baal starts to suspect something is up- more up than Sullivan kidnapping a demon child from some orphanage or something like he assumed previously. On his twelfth birthday, Baal confirms his suspicions: Iruma has King Delkira’s Mana. To start a little plot, Baal sets up dominos- have Kiriwo, new to the party, bring friendly Iruma away from the crowd to help him ‘look for something’ he lost, Atori to have a conversation with Sullivan in another room where Poro and Iruma, separately, can overhear. Atori says he knows Iruma has Delkira’s Mana and asks how that’s possible, considering Delkira himself cursed Sullivan so he shouldn’t be able to touch it- or is the boy his long ploy to loophole, and get everything back?

Sullivan reacts by... squishing the spider. But Poro leaves the party early, and Iruma is, for the first time, truly scared. Kiriwo is enchanted by his expression of terror and confusion, even if he quickly covers it up and returns to the party.

5- That night in his room, Iruma asks Ali-san what he should do. Ali-san keeps trying to tell Iruma that he’s safe at home, but realizes that perhaps what Iruma needs is to step outside the sheltered bubble. But also be kept away from danger, since Iruma didn’t listen when he tried to warn him away from Kiriwo. So he says if Iruma promises to listen to him, he’ll sneak him out the safe way and help him avoid trouble from either Grandpa Sullivan or Baal’s group.

Iruma agrees, and runs away.

Much to the displeasure of just about everyone else the next morning when this is discovered- Sullivan, Opera, Baal, Poro, Kiriwo, Kalego, Azz, everyone.

the reason clara meets iruma and azz is because the valacs are like, Pretty Rare, in that their species' original planet was destroyed quite a while ago, and they're the sole descendants. they don't have a new home planet because they live on a spaceship, which, considering the universe is huge and spaceships move fast, makes them pretty elusive.

on top of that, the valacs are experts in body modification and one of the leading techies in the galaxy theyre cool like that. all of them (save the two babies they need to grow a bit) are cyborgs/cyborgs-in-progress. the family 'everything pocket' is them having created and implanted the tech to make themselves into 3d printers, especiallly clara, who decided to focus on that when she was creating her mods.

while the other family members are able to, to an extent, synthesise chemicals and shape them, they didn't develop it as much as clara because they focused on different things. like Clara's mother focused on her voicebox -- being able to adjust her vocal range beyond her natural biological capacity because of artificial voice ((autotune))), everyone 'fears' urara because all the implants he made in his brain work and they don't know how far he's taking it but his digital skills are crazy etc etc

so yeah clara decided she'd just keep working on the tech that lets her make stuff, to the point that generating blueprints and creating them is really, really easy for her. (also she has prosthetic feet with wheels, aka conner and murph)

-> this means clara is a REALLY GOOD RESOURCE for anyone who can get a hold of her

-> kiriwo gets a hold of her

so the love trio first meets when iruma and azz get kidnapped by anonymous forces that toss them into cell(s) opposite one of the valacs. she's weirder than they thought, but also a lot nicer. and she doesnt look like a vehicle, despite what rumours claim.

Yay, I got the next volume of Welcome to Demon School!!!

I was very excited to read this manga because it has some of my favorite arcs. The continuation of Clara’s pursuit of knowledge to get Iruma back with her and Asmodeus, since Iruma was spending so much time with Ameri. At first when reading the arc there I was pitying Clara in her efforts to seduce Iruma and I also like how she refused the perfume from the teacher which would make the assignments a lot easier.

A big portion of the book had a lot to do with the Battler Arc, (picking clubs) and this school has a lot of clubs to pick from. I am also scared of the recruiters for each of the clubs, they seem very enthusiastic.

I did find it annoying when the girls came over to talk to Asmodeus, they only cared about the rank that a demon has (I know the school dynamic is survival of the fittest) but it still irks me a bit.

Iruma found a potential battler to join the Magical Apparatus Research Battle, the only member before our trio (sorry for spoilers) was the guy running it, Kiriwo Amy, I felt so bad for him that he is bullied a lot by the other demons for have for being a weak demon.

Taking a break from the Battler Arc we squeeze in class with Robin Bahrs, this teacher is new and energetic he is teaching the misfit class about familiars, which does not go well for Iruma (Yay we get Fluffy Kalego time!!!). The class does go remotely well except for the fight between Asmodeus and Sabro and their familiars. By the end of the class, I did learn one thing, the power of cuteness will always save the day. (Kalego owned both Asmodeus and Sabro’s familiars and they are twice his fluffy form size).

Then we get more face time with the Battlers and the school festival that all the clubs are preparing for. I won’t spoil to much of this part, but the M.A.R. (Magical Apparatus Research) Battler decided to do a human thing (unbeknownst to the demons), which gets the club very excited for

I caught myself wondering if I were to go to Babyls what Battler I would want to join The Library Battler, if I can read I’m happy. :D

Mairimashita! Iruma-kun s2 ep14

It’s gonna be the weekends soon and I forgot to make this post lol.

Continuing from their plans in the last episode, the girls go clothes shopping. Ameri looks good in the dress and was complimented for it but she has concerns about the outfit not being fit for battle. She has her priorities elsewhere.

Clara tries on a dress that's a bit too big on her for fun. The staff notices and a tiny demon is tasked to make it fit her perfectly which makes her beauty stand out.

I couldn’t take a whole picture of what she looks like entirely but I’m telling you I was surprised - Clara actually has a sexy figure. I mean I shouldn’t be that surprised with how both Ameri,  Elizabetta, and Kerori (as an idol) look and they’re all around the same age but Clara I didn’t notice at all until now. Probably her childish personality and the clothes she wears (which most of the time is her school uniform) making her look like she’s younger. She actually looks more like her mom now. Anime genetics, man.

The whole group posed for a photoshoot! It would’ve been nice if the others tried on a different outfit, too.

Kalego-sensei is having... some kind of time. As it is a contest, Sensei can't refuse to do as the kids on his team asks even though it doesn't really work and he won't fake being happy for it. Meanwhile, the boys got invited to play some carnival games.

Team Kalego finally had some fun through the game but Team Baram posted a lot of pictures of Iruma having fun and thinking they might lose, they decided they'd go somewhere the other teams haven't gone to. The place they picked is somewhere Kalego-sensei doesn't approve of as he explains that there are dangerous areas in the park (other than the prison underground which I’m not sure if Kalego-sensei knows about, too). This park has a lot of unsafe places but this is the demon world so I shouldn’t be that surprised.

Iruma and Ronove are having fun it seems. Iruma is having the time of his life experiencing something he hasn't before while Ronove treats this as a little competition as he didn't think Iruma could keep up.

By the way, obviously Asmodeus is the one taking all these pictures. We should’ve known before but the show had to confirm it by showing Azz holding the camera and taking pictures happily. I bet his social media accounts are just full of Iruma pictures. Good advertisement for the future demon king, I suppose lol.

As Iruma tries catching up to Ronove to whatever they could go next at the park, he accidentally takes the wrong turn and gets lost... at the very place that Kalego-sensei was telling his team was dangerous.

Before he could get into trouble however, some kind but strange girl shows up to save him and take him back to the right path. They hang out a little and have some fun before she was able to take Iruma back to his group. She disappears afterwards without even telling him her name.

Her name is revealed to be Cedar and is a staff member who works behind the scenes in the park. But just like the other staff members the kids have been meeting the entire episode, they take their jobs as “Everyone’s Playmate” seriously and want to spread happiness to the visitors.

Iruma gets punished into playing as a monster at a kiddie playground cause of what happened (which he’s okay with). The kids are having fun attacking him and Asmodeus is close to losing it and committing assault on the children but was held back by the others. One of the kids around Iruma is roleplaying as member of Six Fingers. Azz explains that the real Six Fingers is a group made up of demons who underwent primal regression and they're pretty mysterious which made them popular as well.

Agares mentioned how he wasn't having fun and Ronove chalks it up to him wearing an eyemask and proceeds to take it off. And thus eyes reveal happened... he’s actually a bishounen! Ronove isn't happy that someone else is prettier than he is.

I’m just gonna say this: usually people enjoy fanservice and all and I was expecting the comment section to be talking about Clara’s new look but no, most people are talking about Agares. And they should! This boy is too pretty and shiny to be ignored. Ronove can do that but with his powers so Agares is a natural. No wonder Ronove is annoyed lol. He decided that maybe it’d be fine if Agares looks different and so Ronove plans to have him wear something else. The others thought costume change would be fun, too and follows.

While the kids are having fun, Wetotto excuses himself so he could send in a report with Baram-sensei watching over the kids for now. It is revealed with a convo with another staff that Wetotto and the other staff members we saw throughout the day are all new. And we finally get our reveal.

I did feel there was something strange about the guys running the carnival games but I didn’t suspect Wetotto (who I thought had been working there for a long time if he was charged with looking after the owner’s kid), the guys running the clothes store (they just seem like they fit there too much), and Cedar (who I thought had been living in the creepy part of the park for a long time). I should’ve realized the reveal before it happened when there are exactly 6 prominent extras this entire episode.

And now the destruction of Walter Park begins... and so does the exciting part of this arc!

The Agares entire face reveal was surprising. Almost all the boys in the series look good but as Ronove said, this one’s different (which he feels is a threat to his own looks). The guy needs a makeover to show off how pretty his face is lol. I would say the same about Clara but in a way, they're similar as a different look doesn’t seem like their style and is a huge contrast to how they act most of the time.

Kalego-sensei seem to know stuff about the park. I wonder if he knows about the underground prison as well? I’m not gonna be surprised if he does as he is a powerful demon that even one of the demon king candidates, Grandpa Sullivan trusts. I just realized that this must be the reason why Grandpa Sullivan had sent chaperones for the kids  it’s not just him being comically overprotective of his grandchild, it’s him knowing about the dangers of Walter Park under the fun exterior. Kalego-sensei and Baram-sensei are both high ranking demons and I’m not sure if I remember if it’s been told but Opera must be as well since they’re stronger than both the teachers (with Kalego-sensei scared of Opera).

I’m wondering if Cedar is gonna have a change of heart since she seems nice and looked like she had fun with Iruma when they hung out but as light-hearted this show mostly is, Kiriwo-senpai still chose to be evil so I shouldn’t hold my hopes up.

This is gonna be an interesting arc with fights as not only do we have Iruma and the rest of the Abnormal Class who has their own special abilities but also their three very powerful chaperones. And Ameri is here and also Ronove-senpai (wonder what he could do in battle?). They’ll be fighting not only against the escaped prisoners but also the mysterious and powerful Six Fingers along with a bunch of monsters the group has released and also Kiriwo-senpai who has made a comeback! How exciting!

An interesting fic premise would be, what if Iruma and Ameri are half-siblings? 

There’s a post about the possibility that Ameri is half-demon, so the human her father returned to the human world and memory-wiped was her mother. 

If that woman was left with some subconscious certainty that demons were real, that could have been why Iruma’s parents, the opposite of hard-working people, did the research needed to summon a demon. 

One way this could go is soon after Iruma is brought to the demon world, when the head of border control is sent a photo of him, he spits out his tea because boy looks like his ex. The Azazels are good people, so Iruma immediately gets a big sis and a good dad, because obviously Ameri’s brother is Henri’s son~

(Humans have powers over demons, and Henri’s job interacts with the human world, so if Iruma’s mom was an occultist and he was summoned/caught... his relationship with Iruma’s mom may not have been consensual, which would make him aware that if he, an actual aduit, has scars from being in that woman’s power, what did she do to a child? (What did Ameri barely escape from when someone freed Henri?) So awkward conversations re. is Iruma okay, getting him to open up about what his life was like)

Ameri stuffing her new little brother into a student council uniform to better protec~ Amy Kiriwo encountering an earnest student council member who is ‘the people bullying you are mean! (I remember being the kid bullied bc poor and didn’t know the material bc never at school)’ and starts stalking him with his friends to protect poor Amy-kun. Ameri going ‘my brother is so cute, finding an ambition to support another student as they pursue their ambition I MUST HAVE PHOTOS’ Ameri and Sullivan attempting to stalk and photograph Iruma-kun but like, after epically failing not to get caught, Azz-kun is jointly appointed the Official Iruma Photographer

Also Sullivan going ‘if Ameri is Iruma’s brother I now have TWO grandchildren to brag about, muahahahaha!’ Henri is ‘...no’ to being son boi though. Sullivan is like, you will be assimilated. Opera ofc finds his resistance hilarious.

Mairimashita! Iruma-kun s2 ep15

This is late. A lot of stuff happened irl that made me forget lol.

Also, Amatsuki recently released the MV for “Kokoro Showtime” (the ED song for this series)!

The show goes back a couple of minutes before the magic beasts appeared...

The boys of Team Baram plus Ronove are enjoying picking new outfits. As they took their time, Agares felt something strange going on.

He was able to pinpoint which areas the beasts are gonna show up and also talk about how the warmth he’s feeling in those areas reminds him of eggs being heated.

The show explains his bloodline ability: My Area. They're able to manipulate the state of any surface area in their surroundings. Agares has somewhat guessed a bit of what's happening although not why it's happening and so before the magic beasts even appeared, he had already created a small safe space for them that saved them from the explosion.

I like how they’re now showing his full face more. He’s so cute!

The magic beasts had appeared!

This dragon is the beast at the area Team Baram is at. The guys decided to call their friends elsewhere in the park but they couldn’t.

This rat is at the area where Team Opera is.

And of course, this one is close to where Team Kalego is.

Their group is gonna get most of the screentime this episode!

Sensei is finally having fun! He decides that this is the perfect opportunity for training. He is a teacher after all and his best interest is the growth of his very, very scared students! It's then explained by the narrator that the kids are in their first year learning the basics and haven't learned any attack magic yet.

Sensei stops the kids from running away. After all, they’re here to have fun, right?

Camui tells them of how annoyed the bull is. This reveals their bloodline ability of Friendliness meaning they could translate any language and is able to converse with any living beings. Not only could actually understand the magic beast, he could talk to it, too!

Goemon shows off his ability as well! This one, as noted by Jazz, is their only offensive ability in the group since everyone else's is non-combat. But they could be used...

I was not able to get screenshots so I’d just summarize the event that follows:

Lied takes away one pair of the bull’s eyes with his Controller ability giving it a blind spot. Camui then gets it's attention by speaking to it, and they end it with Jazz using raffire combined by Goemon's whirlwind cut. A combo attack from the boys!

Unfortunately, it didn't work and it just made the beast mad at them. Kalego-sensei refused to help them and would only give a vague advice.

Meanwhile, the Six Fingers have finally gone to break out Kiriwo-senpai in prison while the other convicts are starting to cause trouble alongside them elsewhere in the area. The staff are panicking cause of the trouble above with the magic beast on the amusement park above and the intruders and riot on the prison below.

Some of the convicts are worried though as the higher the floor at the prison, the stronger the guards. The strongest is at the top - the Deputy Warden, Handshake Triton. Even if they were able to get past the other floors, they might not even be able to leave entirely cause of the strongest person in the prison.

It seems though, that the smallest member of the Six Fingers - Hugh - could easily defeat Triton himself. Triton’s ability, Handshake, could let him crush anyone but it doesn’t work on the Six Finger member who easily beats him.

The Team Kalego boys are in a pinch and they decided to rely on Jazz to be their leader as he's the highest ranking among them. He refuses of course cause what can he do? They end up bagging him and calling him 'aniki' when he said no as they don’t want to lead (as it’s the most dangerous role).

Being called “Aniki’ brought back memories of his own biological older brother bullying him. He always thought that if he was the older brother, he'd be nice to his own younger siblings if he had any.

lol the boys are so cute with their sparkles and all. I feel bad for Jazz cause the guys are just doing this to keep themselves at a safer distance from danger haha.

The boys' acting like that is making Jazz happy and is bringing out the big bro instincts in him. As he tries to think of a way to deal with their current dilemma, Kalego-sensei finally decides to give a better hint to them. He points out the thing on Jazz’s neck and Jazz thinks that maybe they have a chance.

Elsewhere, amidst the destruction, something is brewing inside Iruma. He sees the now destroyed park and remembers how fun and peaceful it was earlier. He then finds out from the other visitors talking around them that this may all have been a planned attack. A kid nearby screams for help to save his friends trapped in a rubble and gets ignored by apathetic demons around who only cares about what could happen to them (as they are demons and demons prioritize their own desires). Iruma looks around and hears the child crying. He decides to ask a staff member for help but he gets told to forget it and just evacuate like everyone else.

Iruma then realizes the feelings he’s had for a long time but wasn't able to to say: he's sick of it. He's not happy about this at all. Iruma seems pissed and he’s not gonna stand there doing nothing.

I know I never posts these but I just wanna show you guys today's Interval. Asmodeus sends Eiko the picture of Iruma cosplaying as a monster which Eiko then uses as her wallpaper. Eiko is lucky to be friends with another Iruma-sama fan!

This entire season is showcasing the other characters in the series particularly the students of the Abnormal Class and in this arc, also Ameri and possibly Ronove plus the chaperones. They’re in groups and would all probably have to fight side-by--side to defeat the monsters near the areas they’re in. And also the Six Fingers. They’ve already shown the abilities of the rest of Team Kalego (as Jazz and Lied’s abilities have already been explained in the Royal One Arc). From the next episode preview, it seems we’d be seeing Team Opera fight.

I want to talk about my feelings regarding that scene with Jazz and his group later in this episode. Jazz’s flashback showed his own older brother being a bully - stealing from him, trespassing and trashing Jazz’s room, etc. - and yet instead of wishing for revenge and stuff, his thoughts were “I’d be nice if I were an older brother.”. He wants younger siblings not to continue the cycle of bullying but to be an older brother his own isn’t to him. And this doesn’t even seem to stem from wanting to show off like “See, I’m nice unlike you” or anything like that, he looks like he really just wants younger siblings to dote on. I mean he’s happy the other guys look up to him and are calling him “Aniki” (brother).

I just want to point that out cause in the same episode we’re shown how other demons wouldn’t care if someone is in need of help with the explanation that they’re demons and it’s in their nature. It’s so strange to me how somewhat contradicting this is. Also fascinating. But then again, Jazz is in the Abnormal Class. Maybe they’re the exception?

I’m excited for the next episode. From the previews, it seems that for Team Opera, the ones fighting is Opera themselves and Ameri who are both combatants. Unlike the boys of Team Kalego, they’d probably know what they’re doing. That doesn’t mean I don’t like watching inexperienced fighters in combat cause it was actually really fun to see how resourceful they were when using their abilities.

I watched this on the day it was posted but I got kinda lazy to make this lol.

Another fun episode though! Ronove is entertaining.

Iruma listening to Ameri’s troubles. She already knew she was unintentionally giving the others a hard time due to her current condition but she still wanted to do her best. She mentions that she could just leave the student council and be a normal student if Iruma would support her.

Iruma says he can’t because he knows that it isn’t what Ameri would want. Ameri had taught him about striving for your ambition before and he’s giving her back her words and encouraging her to not just give up on this.

They have a moment of course.

Meanwhile, Clara and Azz are both tasked with something important. Iruma asked them for help in investigating about Ameri’s curse but at the same time both their temporary battlers have given them the task to retrieve items that were borrowed from their respective groups.

They immediately put two and two together.

On the other hand, that girl on the game’s cover though... really makes you think.

Dissolution Election start!!

Ronove is confident while Ameri is still nervous.

Ronove gets another song number! Is this gonna be a regular thing? I’m not complaining cause it’s catchy but hopefully they use new music cause this feels like the same tune from his intro song.

The student body loves it, too and are cheering for him. He promises to let the students have fun if he becomes the new president.

Ameri soon returns to normal as she listened to everyone cheer the opponent but not because she’s threatened. Ameri believes demons strive for ambition and upon hearing them cheer for pleasure she thought of reminding them that they all have things they want to accomplish and so they should work for it and as their leader, she’d be the one to lead them to that end.

Everyone cheers as they realize they got their president back. The rest of the student council cries tears of joy.

In the middle of the cheers, Ameri gains another epiphany. This time a welcome one as she admits to herself she’s in love with Iruma.

Clara (and Azz lol) got some competition. Eiko on the other hand would probably be okay being in an OT3 since she loves them both anyways haha.

Oh yeah... they finally caught the real culprit for the curse thing thanks to Azz and Clara. The guy is the president of Ameri’s fan club and just wanted to see his idol being cute. He gets punished for his troubles of course!

Anyways, Ronove’s battler is now disbanded cause he lost the election but Ameri, knowing the guy has potential, decides to recruit him as a member of the student council which Ronove accepts. He warns her that he’s still try to one up her though but she’s not worried and it’s as expected.

Iruma got asked as well (it was Ameri’s plan all along after all) but he declines saying he learned a lot from his experience in the student council but wouldn’t want to just go with the flow. There’s another place he belongs and besides... he’s waiting for someone who might come back.

Oh my god he’s still waiting for him! I dunno how to feel about this. Kiriwo/Iruma shippers, I guess you get something for yourselves, too for today!

Of course, Clara and Azz are happy they’re back as a trio with Iruma. Especially Azz... I don’t think he could last any longer without Iruma around.

After all the troubles, Ameri had already accepted her true feelings and is now nervous when talking to Iruma. She could still handle herself and could put on an air of confidence so she could still interact with Iruma like she normally does.

The subs are on the video itself so I can’t get a clean shot. This is the best I could do, sorry.

Here we are with everyone happy and Ameri declaring that she’d be giving it her all when it comes to getting Iruma’s affections.

Watch out Clara and Azz... you got one hell of a competitor coming in!

I guess with this concluded there’d be a new arc next week. This is a shounen anime but Iruma has gotten his little harem starting to set up lol. Ronove is gonna be a recurring character now, I guess since he’s a member of the council now, too. I’m happy Iruma is back home cause his grandpa missed him a lot.

Okay, so I got curious about what they did with the show’s English dub since it does have some muscial numbers in it (from Clara’s family and that devidol performance) so i looked them up. They dubbed the songs, too! They were okay although for me, personally, some sounded kinda awkward. Anyways, I’m curious and excited about how they’d do Ronove’s songs lol. I’m sure it’d sound fun.

I wonder if this’d be the new intro (not OP, I mean that beginning part of the anime that introduces Iruma)?

Anyways, new episode!

Finding this (out of context) thing about Iruma is bad for Ameri’s health.

She’s been so preoccupied with the thought of Iruma in a dress and stressing over it that her dad noticed. He immediately realized it was because of Iruma but he thinks it’s cause she’s romantically interested in the guy.

Well... isn’t she? lol

Meanwhile, Iruma’s little idol stunt last season got the attention of the idol-watching masses and they want to see more Irumi-chan!

There’s a demand for it (both in and out of universe lol) so he is being asked (forced) to dress up again.

Another misunderstanding occurs and Ameri sees it again but this time it seems she’ll be doing something about it.

Kiriwo-senpai’s actions last season have consequences and now their little club is suspended... but not permanently! Apparently since they couldn’t exactly reach the proper requirements, they need to get the recommendation from other battlers. Each one of the remaining members (Iruma and his friends) need to join a different battler each. Poor Azz-kun is devatated to be far away from his Iruma-sama while Clara is having fun at the Game Battler.

So where’s Iruma?

Ameri uses this opportunity to get him to join the Student Council! Her plan is to make Iruma experience being in the student council and maybe convince him to stay forever lol.

The montage of their student council stuff reminds me of those movies about military school/training with Iruma not being used to it at all at first. He does get better later on though. The guy can adapt well.

Hmm... makes you wish you were part of it, huh? lol

They still do secret manga readings by the way.

What’s with the story of this manga? I thought it was romance, slice-of-life shoujo... what’s with the secret organization stuff? Why does this remind of tv dramas in my country with the ‘romance at first but later there’d be gun fights and kidnapping’? lol

A little flashback with other members of the council pointing out how Ameri taking Iruma to join their group isn’t the first time she had done such a thing as they, too weren’t really ‘Student Council’ material but was recruited by her.

???

Not gonna lie, I find this to be unsettling.

Someone drugs Ameri and turns her into this... moe... thing. I’m sure a lot of people like these stuff but it ain’t for me.

It seems from the preview that there’d be a new character next week!

There’s still a bit more recap-py thing this episode but not as much as last time. I wonder what the big plot of this season will be? They seem to be hinting something about Evil Cycles now (they did mention it last season but I don’t remember it being a big thing to be focused on).

My Thoughts on Amy Kiriwo

In the first half of Mairimashita! Iruma-kun, we were introduced to this guy: the only member of the Magic Tools Battler and a weak magic user - Amy Kiriwo.

Throughout the entire Battler Party arc we see more and more of him and learn of what he actually is. Here are my thoughts on him after the climax of the Battler Party conflict. I debated on whether I should make this post today or after the next episode comes out as things could happen. The more I thought about it, the more it feels like it makes sense for me to make this now.

Plus this is an extension to my thoughts on the latest episode of ‘Mairimashita! Iruma-kun’ but that post will get too long if I added his there so I made this separate one.

Also, I’d be using old screenshots I already used in past posts cause it’d be a pain to get new ones haha. Also, this might end up being long as I’m gonna type as I go and not think too much on how to summarize.

We met Kiriwo-senpai when Iruma and the gang had to pick a battler. In his introduction and the episodes where his battler is showcased, he is shown to be a nice, mild-mannered, but weak person. He’s constantly looked down upon for his low rank and lack of powerful magic in contrast to everyone around him. He takes all this without complaint and acts as if it’s just how things are.

The way he talks with always smiling and being quick to apologize and being polite is shown to us alongside how our protagonist, Suzuki Iruma, acts to point out how similar they were not just in terms of lack of magical ability but the way they think as well. As a result, he and Iruma hit it off and I, a viewer, immediately took a liking to him. Also helps that it was obvious that his battler is what Iruma would choose in the end anyways.

His ideals with wanting to create equipment to help others with similar lack of magic also made it so that both Iruma and maybe some viewers like me would think “Wow, he’s a nice guy and his idea is what Iruma needs!”.

All-in-all, he is a fun character and his interactions with Iruma, Azz, and Clara when the main trio formally join his battler is the cutest friendship moments ever.

They also chose to put this scene in the same episode where the entire group hung out and had a school sleepover. Imagine that... they were having so much fun bonding and you might even end up liking senpai more and then bam! Near the end you’re shown this and is told “This guy wants to destroy the school and is actually a bad guy!”.

I was surprised, kinda heart-broken but still hopeful when I first watched this episode. I remember going “No! no, no, no... why?” and thinking next that maybe there’s a reason for this. Maybe he’s not totally bad and would decide not to go forth with his plans in the last minute cause of the power of friendship. I mean, that’s how it works on most lighthearted shows, right? and Mairimashita! Iruma-kun is lighthearted enough...

But every episode he does something that gets him closer and closer to his goal and my hopes slowly disappear.

We were also shown his backstory. I thought, like I said in the main episode post, that this is his tragic backstory. This is his excuse for being evil and this is where I’d feel bad for him and understand why he did it. It will show me he still has some good in him and he can be redeemed.

Aaaaand no. No it’s not.

He’s just this. He wants to do something as messed up as blowing up an entire school filled with people - both students and staff - who are all ignorant of what would happen next just to see them suffer. He even mentioned how he wants to see the faces of the parents once they realized that their kids are dead.

He’s doing evil stuff for no other reason than because it’s fun. For him. Personally. No tragic backstory of any kind as an excuse. The backstory was an explanation to ‘why’.

It’s both surprising and refreshing to see something like this. Disappointing, too cause I wanted his friendship with Iruma to mean something. For that friendship to do what it does to other bad guys wherein they gain a change of heart purely because they learn to care about other people. But Kiriwo-senpai is different as he’s doing this for selfish and messed up reasons. For a show like Mairimashita! Iruma-kun wherein it feels most of the story is comedic shounen, it’s something else to put a villain like Amy Kiriwo who has this motivation of just wanting to see others suffer. This is probably not gonna be a big deal for other series where everything gets deeper and darker which makes his character kinda out-of-place when you think about it.

I mean even Baal (Kiriwo’s own senpai) who just wants to see chaos because demons kind of feels different from him. From what I could gain from the latest episode’s dialogue, Baal’s motivation for wanting to destroy Babyls is that, the school represents the ranking system and that if it’s gone, there’d be chaos like in the olden days where demons are like that and not the peaceful ones they have right now. Sounds bad too but to me, ‘I want things to be chaotic as they should be.’ sounds less uh, bad, I guess than ‘I just wanna see people suffer terribly cause it feels good.’.

Here’s the thing about this last part.

Kiriwo-senpai is a roller coaster of a character. I liked him when he first showed up and liked his character more as episodes went by before he’s intro as a villain, of course. When the reveal happened, I became so confused about how to feel as I remember their friendships and wanting that back and so many scenes felt like they’re there to be conflicting. The first time there’s a brief shot of senpai’s childhood, it felt as if they’re saying “He has a reason for this!”. His talk with Iruma when the secret room was first shown to us also adds to this.

Then suddenly they show the entire backstory to say ‘There’s nothing good about this guy’ or something like that. I’m supposed to hate him at this point as he not only wanted to hurt/kill a lot of innocent people but he also betrayed the very real friendship and trust Iruma had given him. He’s at this low point wherein I would and should consider him a villain, finally, after episodes of me trying to deny that.

And then in the end of the very episode, he saves Iruma from falling to his death. He yells at (a sleeping) Iruma how it’s stupid to just jump out a window and not think about landing. He yells at him and calls him ‘idiot’ not in a condescending but in a very frustrated way after everything that happened. He then admits he failed.

He didn’t have to save Iruma -  the guy who ruined his long time plans in a single night. But he did. And now I don’t feel like completely hating him anymore.

It’s weird. After all that I dunno what to think of him. He’s a bad person and that much is obvious but how much of a bad person? I dunno. He’s done something bad although it failed. He’s also done something good. I feel neutral about him right now where the only way I could make a decision of what to think of him rests in whatever he does on the following episodes after this one wherein it showed exactly what kind of person he is.

Would he return to thinking of doing something worse next time or would he try and be redeemed and be a better person? Or maybe nothing would happen at all. He’s still young and if the backstory told to us before didn’t deliver on what we thought it would, he’s young enough that this thing, this time in the present could be his future backstory. He’s got what it takes to be a full villain but I believe he still has some kindness in him (I mean he did feel kinda bad at first that he and Iruma are different) and he could be anything at this point. Iruma could be the reason he becomes what he would be someday.

I guess that’s why I decided to write (type?) this now. Cause the next few episodes can and probably would show me the answers to these questions. What he does after failing his grand evil plan is important. He can finally have a redemption arc if he wants to. Iruma is nice enough and I’m sure he’d probably do something about it.

For those who read the manga, you’re probably either shaking your head or laughing as you read this entire thing. You already know the answer and I may be overthinking all this nonsense. But I haven’t read the manga yet so I don’t know anything and that’s the fun of it. I’d know the answers soon and I’m happy this anime gave me something to think about.

Characters like Kiriwo-senpai are so interesting because of these! So much fun, frustrating, and exciting! I can’t wait to see what becomes of him in the episodes to come.

Mairimashita! Iruma-kun ep 13

Oh god it’s 2020 and I’m actually lazier than last year. This is late...

Also, to lessen the pics I’m posting (to stop Tumblr from giving me errors), I pasted some of the pics together to make one post.

We officially get introduced to Kiriwo-senpai. While we did meet him last week and knew his name from the front door sign, he gets to introduce himself today and we get to know a bit more about him, too. He’s also apparently the only member of this club, er batra...

Iruma also gets to tour the room and look at the stuff inside! Many of them need magic to operate and Kiriwo-senpai happily demonstrated a few.

Although any use of magic makes me cough out blood. He’s really weak. It’s why he wants to make items that can help those like him be able to keep up with everyone else with high magical abilities.

Anyways, our hero helps out senpai in fixing one of the machines in there and was able to show off the skills he got from his terrible childhood of having to work to live. Seriously, Iruma and Hayate would get along really well... XD

With this fun little activity and Kiriwo-senpai’s words of why the batra exist and that he wouldn’t mind if Iruma didn’t have much magical abilities as well, we all knew what’d happen next:

Iruma joins and with him are Asmodeus and Clara! I mean we knew this would happen but it’s so cute? The other two didn’t question Iruma’s decision and looks happy to be there with him, too. No complaints at all which is nice. They really just wanna be with him.

I was feeling so sorry for Ameri cause she worked hard in making the Student Council room look good to try and get Iruma to join but alas, Iruma already had a different choice. I’m glad he still visited and saw her efforts though. My heart kinda broke when I thought Iruma would never show up that day cause Ameri did try her very best.

Iruma, of course, explained to her about which batra he chose instead.

A few days later, maybe? I’m not sure about this show’s time skips when the 2nd half comes around so I’m just assuming here.

Opera informs Iruma of a school event. Grandpa is super excited about it as he’d be able to watch his grandson in school and so Opera is already making preparations.

Meanwhile, elsewhere there’s a meeting going on. Apparently since there’s no Demon King, a lot of issues are plaguing the netherworld. They have 3 candidates so far and one of them is Iruma’s grandpa Sullivan.

On the other hand, there are those of them who believes in the prophecy about who their new future king would be. They perfectly describe a certain someone... ehehehe~

On another floor, their 3 candidates are busy having a Granchild Showdown and this time, Sullivan happily joins them as he’s now a grandpa!! They of course ask questions cause how did he get a grandchild when he has no kids in the first place? He answers in English: ‘No Comment!’ XD

The other two say that they would actually prefer if Sullivan steps up and becomes the new King as they believe in his abilities but he declines cause he’s now a grandpa and wants to watch Iruma grow up as Iruma is growing up fast. (He should’ve adopted a younger child though if he wanted to take care of a kid much longer as our protag is already 14 - a teenager - and is going to slowly become more independent soon).

They understand as they are also grandparents who prefer that over being a ruler as of now so meeting is postponed!

Ameri’s dad is as smart as she is it seems as he also realized what Iruma is and now grandpa is going to jail...

Will he get out? Will he make it to the school, event? Will Iruma’s secret soon be revealed to all? What’s gonna happen next?

I’m actually pretty excited about the next episode cause a lot of things are happening. On the other hand, it’s a new season (Winter) and I’m wondering if this show is gonna change OP/ED cause that’s gonna be kinda sad as I (and a lot of fans) like the current songs. If they would change it though, they have to step up their game as the current ones are really good and catchy so we kinda have a standard at the moment. Well, we’ll see what happens when it airs!
