Why was Megaforce and Samurai's dialogue like... that?
Like Power Rangers dialogue are cheesy and quippy across the board just the way I like it. But Samurai and Megaforce so often had this… placeholder lines vibe at times where they just say, "We gotta [thing we know they're gonna do and doesn't need saying]" or just… stuff that barely feels punchy as well as generically heroic.
That and the weird way they talked during combat, especially close-quarters. Nothing quick or snappy but full sentences that feel tacked on. Even Mighty Morphin' didn't make the dialogue this dumbed down.
It's just… weird, weird, weird. There's a deep dive to be made about the peculiar presentation of the initial Neo-Saban era.

A SuperMega Question (Pun Fully Intended)
This is something I’ve been thinking about for a long while ever since I’ve seen the show and especially lately when it was revealed by, I believe it was Simon Bennett, saying how super megaforce was chunky the way it was using the gokaiger footage because Saban didn’t like pirates. DO YOU THINK POWER RANGERS MEGAFORCE WOULD HAVE POTENTIALLY BEEN BETTER OR AT LEAST MORE COHESIVE IF IT WAS JUST A GOSEIGER ADAPTATION?
There was a work around to still utilizing the anniversary aspect, which Linkara also brought up in his history of megaforce video that at the time of megaforce’s debut there was a trading card game with the previous ranger teams that could have been implemented into the rangers’ gimmick as goseiger had the card motif to begin with in their arsenal. The only thing about this would have been saban not being absolutely lazy and using original footage but I feel it could have worked if they weren’t so adamant on recycling the sentai Saban didn’t even want.
But those are just my thoughts, please leave a reblog and/or comment on what you think.

Ngl slowly going from understanding Hasbro putting Power Rangers on pause to just starting to wonder like everyone else if Hasbro is trying to quietly abandon Power Rangers with the announcement that is leaving the fate of the comics unclear.

Kind of insane that Hasbro hasn’t given ANYTHING to a season from the Disney, Neo Saban, or Hasbro eras. Except Hyperforce. Which wasn’t a traditional season. And the only post Zordon stuff we’ve gotten is one time force book and like. Three In Space books (I’m counting Psycho Path as In Space because I don’t remember anyone from LG showing up)
The hierarchy has definitely been MMPR > In Space > Other (OCs or Hyperforce....which are basically glorified OCs, so.....) > Time Force; which I guess isn't totally shocking, but like the toyline, it's weird that they clearly know how popular In Space and Time Force are but never really capitalize on RPM's equal popularity. (Dino Thunder is also super popular but I wonder if they avoid that due to the can of worms that is Tommy's role in it.)
Though tbh the real tragedy was how Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury have been left behind by the comics. When BOOM first got the license they threw a bone to the seasons airing alongside their releases: Ninja Steel got its own annual story for Shattered Grid, Beast Morphers got some covers and cameos (even a special "first appearance" in Shattered Grid) - but Dino Fury has gotten one crowd shot appearance in Darkest Hour and Cosmic Fury nothing at all. And I have no clue why. You're not even going to make them one of the teams picked up by Hyperforce in 118??? Where's my Fern content!!!!!!!

The Morphin Grid Headcanons + Some Questions
It’s been a while since I watched the show but this has been on loop in my head for a while.
I think the Dino fury team are the only ones to actually be able to “SEE” it. Like see the grid in it’s real form. Beast morphers tapped into it, but I doubt they were able to actually see what it looked like, without it physically manifesting as the morph-X energy.
Alpha and Steel (technically) are the only ones who have been able to step into it, so far. So I’m guessing it isn’t very compatible for humans.
One more thing: while Alpha could go in and do whatever fixing he needed to do in Once a Ranger, Steel clearly couldn’t survive the pressure/energy of the stream of morph-X energy and died.
This makes me wonder how much of it was because of “human intervention” because it’s like stepping into water in a river or a lake, vs stepping into the water that turns a turbine at a dam. So maybe the grid could sustain a human stepping into it if it’s in its pure form.
It’s a network, that somewhat looks like space, with stars, that all connect to each other through lines. Hence the name “grid” but not only that, the stars are actually maybe planets that sustain life, which also have Power Rangers, because they’re an intersection of the nodes; Examples: Mirinoi, KO-35, Aquitar and of course, Earth.
Most of this can be wrong, but if the grid sustains life, and is energy, and is technically equivalent to “God” or “the supreme entity” in the Power Rangers Universe (not the morphin masters, they’re the guardians of the grid) does that mean Beast Morphers could actually toy with the power of god/the supernatural and make it feel completely normal?
We know the grid can give life. Mack Hartford and Steel Silva are examples. This also brings the question of whether the Corona Aurora is actually a physical manifestation of the grid, the way morph-X was, that maybe someone, all those ages ago was able to tap into the grid and make a crown that had it’s power, and the gems. This also adds on to the question of whether Sentinel Knight was something like the morphin masters, or maybe a lesser version of them.
Another thing: in the earlier seasons, the interaction with the grid was bare minimal. It was treated like an entity that couldnt be touched, or tampered with. Then moving on, people— humans, like Andrew Hartford, and the guy who RJ got the jungle fury morphers from— could tap into it, and harness the ranger energy to make morphers, and create their own power rangers.
KO-35 had this technology already, they were aliens, and already had KO-35 human-made morphers for all rangers. Time force and SPD are set in the future, so leaving them for now, the first human organisation to do so was Lightspeed Rescue (unless I’m forgetting something)
Other than LSR, most of the teams got their powers in seemingly “mystical” ways. Ninjor, Zeo, whatever the heck turbo was, the swords at Mirnoi, the animarium, (still not sure about Ninja Storm), the Dino gems and then finally the magic wands in mystic force. Then from overdrive, we consistently have more and more people tapping into the morphin grid to make morphers and teams of rangers. This pattern lasts till neo-Saban era where we once again go back to the mystical ways the powers come to be.
Exceptions would be Noah who wanted to tap into the powers and make power ups, Kendall for an obvious reason, and finally Mick, who, like Noah, makes the enhancements.
In Beast morphers, it’s the saturation point, where humans have finally discovered the ultimate source of energy, and like humans do, have decided to exploit it to their own use. Morph-X powered bikes, keys, ranger powers, zords, and so on, which in a way lays foundation for spd. But beast morpher learns that lesson that exploiting the energy too much is a bad idea too. And that results in the morphin grid technically not being mentioned in SPD and Time Force, in universe, because now it’s a resource that’s to be valued, and not exploited.
So what I’m trying to say through all my rambling’s is: as the seasons progress, the teams also progress from seeing the grid as just a mystical entity, to an exploitable resource to once again, a mystical entity that IS a valuable resource (Check Dino Fury, treating the grid as both, something to derive power from, AND respect). It’s like lightning. When people didn’t know what it was, they created mythical gods who fought and their chariots clashed to produce the lightning, to realising it was a phenomenon of charges interacting, and could be used for energy.
And I think, with how subtly it was done, that it’s pretty neat.

Honest opinions: Calvin was 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 (so was Casey)
Calvin definitely could’ve been, my own thing is like the fanon versions made with headcanons is way better tbh than the show version of him. He’s way more cooler in fics and some ideas I have for him along with what you guys come up with here, Also whoever in the writing room thought it would’ve been a good idea for him in the show to dump Hayley and go with Sarah originally needs to probably not work on PR relationships because that would’ve been really scummy as hell, also the fact that they made the black girl apologize for him being a bad boyfriend was…yeah lets keep the character for ourselves cause idk what the hell they were on in the Neo Saban era🤦🏾😭😭
But enough about my rant, I think if they changed up the relationships in the season it would’ve been cooler. Especially with his actor i think it would’ve been nice to have seen Calvin being with one of the other guys on the team, in a perfect world where all the characters are better written we have Sarah/Hayley, Calvin with either Preston or Levi and Brody…idk he’s somewhere😭
And yes Casey was very gay, I always wondered if the people behind seasons had more behind a few of the choices they made with the characters. If I met one of the directors of JF I want to see if the closet fear had something behind it👀🏳️‍🌈,

So, with this era of power rangers coming to an end, can we all agree that the dino charge was the best opening? At least from the neo saban/hasbro era. The themes were very mmpr, but dino charge felt different enough to me and it SLAPS

Power Rangers?? If its already been asked before maybe something like dragon ball z??
Were you tortured as a child? | That was Dog s*** | Yea… no, just no | It doesn’t hold up | Never saw it, can’t judge it | It’s watchable | Overrated but not hated | Underrated and needs more love | Solid wave of nostalgia | It still lives up to the hype. | Master piece | This changed my life.
Power Rangers is on the same wave as Kingdom Hearts and Pokemon to me, it's like, core memory type shit I was watching this show before I even remember watching it. When I say "this changed my life" i mean that genuinely with no exaggeration.
also I make a lot of "my toxic trait" jokes but my fr honest to god toxic traits are that I'm both a Tommy apologist and a Neo-Saban era apologist

HELLO BEINGS OF THE INTERNET!
(Because there are beings out here that don’t identify as humans. (That was not me trying to support dehumanizing people, that’s mean.) I use “beings” as a neutral term here.)
Just call me Hesploro! I honestly don’t care what pronouns you use for me, cause honestly I’m still figuring it out. My main interests are prehistoric creatures, a variety of fandoms, and just general fun stuff!
Also, please ask me questions about prehistory in my ask box! Preferably Mesozoic though.
-My Fandoms-
-Jurassic World
-Power Rangers (Mostly Neo-Saban and Hasbro Eras, but I’m not afraid of the other seasons)
-Dinotrux
-Anything Paleo related (Is this even a fandom??)
-Minecraft
-Dino Dana & Dino Dan
-JWE2
-More to be added!
*DNI*
-Homophobes, arophobes, biphobes, and any of the like
-Transphobes. Just ew.
-Ableists
-JK Rowling. Thank you to the people who caused me to figure out that she’s a transphobic asshole, I hate her.
-Pedophiles. Need I say less? Those are quite literally the scum of the earth.
-Anyone that has committed illegal acts. You can joke about illegal things here, not doing them.
-Assholes.
-Autism Speaks and it’s supporters. I may not be autistic (or that’s just what a test says) but I know for a fact autism is not a disease or disability.
Be aware I block people liberally. If I block you I probably have a reason.

Spoilers for episode 10 of CF
About the Megazords picked for Episode 10, I honestly don't understand why these ones were picked, like I get Astro and Galaxy because they're the space ones but the others?
I would have used it to honor the different eras.
MMPR- Zordon Era Galaxy- Post Zordon Era SPD- Disney Era (with a twist that it's A-Squad piloting it) SMF- Neo Saban Era Beast Morphers- Hasbro Era

My Power Ranger Opinions
These are just my opinions. No one's opinion is right or wrong. This is how I feel.
Tommy Oliver is a good and iconic ranger, but he isn't the greatest.
The Neo Saban Era would be better if they didn't make it too childish. I understand it's a kids show and always has been, but it's too dumbed down now. Past series would take risks and have darker plots that are some of the best. Even MMPR had dark moments.
Operation Overdrive gets too much hate. It's not great by any means, but it isn't as awful as people say.
Once A Ranger is one of the best team ups. Super underrated.
It would have made more sense if Billy was in Dino Thunder instead of Tommy. (I can understand why David Yost didn't want to come back at the time and honestly he has every right to never come back even today or in the future. Thinking about how he was treated still pisses me off. He deserves the world.)
Xander Bly is the greatest green ranger. He learned from mistakes and made a great second in command.
Lucas Kendall made a great blue ranger. He just didn't get enough screentime.
Megaforce could have been better if it brought in more legacy characters, had a bigger Legendary Battle, and wrote the characters better. The actors did as good as they could with the material they were given.
Kendrix is way too underrated. She should be among the top rangers of all time.
Ransik is the greatest villain in the entire franchise. He is the most complex.
Despite my dislike of Justin being a ranger in Turbo, I would like to see the adult Justin show back up. It would be interesting with the right writing.
The Overdrive theme is actually pretty good.
The 2017 movie wasn't that bad. The cast was good, with RJ Cyler as Billy being my favorite. The ranger suits were pretty good and I like how the backstory of Zordon and Rita were portrayed.
Cassie, TJ, Adam, and Karone were the best replacement rangers. Aisha and Rocky were cool, but they didn't stand out like the others.
Rocky was better as the Mighty Morphin red ranger than the Zeo blue ranger.
Jason was better as Zeo gold than Mighty Morphin red
I would have loved to see Billy as Zeo gold. (Again, with everything happening behind the scenes I get why he left. Billy is a favorite, but David Yost should have left sooner.)
I don't like Nick and Madison as a couple. I think it's better for them to stay friends.

Oh god about the Zords: is it as bad as Kendall’s situation?
Also I can’t believe that they didn’t have any other Dino Charge Ranger come back as the most popular season from the Neo-Saban era far and away
I wouldn't say it's that bad. Honestly it's probably something a lot of you will love or at least think it's cool. But if you know how protective I am of pink ranger stuff (especially when Dino Fury GOT RID OF ITS PINK) you'll know I wasn't happy lol
I guess if I have to be fair we have had the Dino Charge rangers back a lot these past few seasons. (Heck, they literally just came back for Beast Morphers!) But it's just odd that now suddenly we're getting Dino rangers..........after Dino Fury ended?
