A damn fine show!

I absolutely loved the “smaller” arrangements for these pieces and it was mostly a different set list from the concert in Orchestra Hall, which is great too. A couple of them were so close to the original that I found a new appreciation for these tracks when they’re played with real instruments and not some synths. There was even a rendition of the Main Theme played on a solo classical guitar. I’m a classical guitar guy so I wish there was more emphasis on arrangements for this instrument.

I also wish that music from some of the side stories would be included. The score for Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core is hugely underrated, IMO. “Wandering on a Sunny Afternoon” (or “Roaming in the Afternoon Sun” as it’s called on Apple Music) actually did make it on to one of my running playlists. I’d probably get all emotional if I heard “The Price of Freedom” and “Fulfilled Desire” (“Living Legacy” on Apple Music) live like I do for the Ending Theme for Final Fantasy X.

It also occurred to me that some of these pieces would make for a great running playlist. 🤔

no one asked but the music in argenti's quest was driving insane for a while and i was wondering why only to realize that they both sound very ff13-esque.

"Cosmic Sacrifice for Love" sounds like "Giant's Fist" by Naoshi Mizuta

"A Gentleman's Fantasy"... I can't even pinpoint exactly which Masashi Hamauzu song it sounds like BUT IT USES A LOT OF SIMILAR HAMAUZU MOTIFS AND ITS REALLY GOOD LMAO just like listen to "Blinded by Light" :)
