20 years ago, on this day the first volume of Durarara!! (デュラララ!!) was released in Japan. This volume contains the Dollars/Mika Harima arc, which is the start and readers' first meeting with such a well written plot, complex characters and artsy language.

Happy 20th anniversary to Durarara!! It will be forever my favorite media; no book, anime or manga can come close to the place that Durarara!! has in my heart. It will remain as a unique and one of a kind work, not only to me but to many other readers as well.

having hyperfixations based off media you've never consumed is fine until you try to explain it to someone. so this fictional city is filled with criminals, it's tokyo of course but I've thrown all the actual things in tokyo out the window to make room for the blorbos, don't worry it's all in my head. now this is Izaya Orihara, yes that one, and also the rest of the Durarara!! gang. I've thrown canon timelines out the window as well. Here is the ramen shop that I've decided Namie runs, oh you don't think that fits with her story? it does in my head. source is trust me bro. here is Light Yagami and his twink detective whom he is in a situationship with. yes they are here too, but I decided Light's girlfriend didn't exist because he's too gay for that and also that he shouldn't be evil, so there's a green-haired girl who's a time witch who messed with the Death Note so Ryuk is gone and now they're all interns at a supernatural detective agency which spans several parts of the multiverse and they go to the same college as this other girl who works for the agency whom I stole from an indie game I watched a youtuber play when I was eleven. I'm gonna write fanfic for this
