YESSSSS on Found making me dislike Gabi. Honestly I’m more indifferent to her but still. I love a morally grey (Annalise 4ever!) or even straight up nasty black woman character but one with complexity and depth. She’s underwritten and underdeveloped and completely caricature. Strong Black Woman to the max and it sucks. Trauma can be debilitating and obviously she isn’t handling it right but she’s written as totally unyielding and never jokes (if she does it’s fleeting) or opens up or has anyone close. I know why but the way they portray her personality is unconvincing. A black woman bestie her age would help but who would she go to? I don’t think it’s an issue of skill because the others are well rounded (excluding Lacey who is an extra and Dhan who they only let be the muscle). I wonder how much input Shanola has in terms of her character because sometimes actors ideas can be for the worse lol. But why she would want Gabi written so thinly and corny I don’t know. I don’t even buy that she cares for ‘her people’ more like she likes having them around to validate her. Found family they are not. Maybe if the show was strictly about cases and she was the tough boss I would get it but with the current premise it just doesn’t make sense. Gabi doesn’t even feel real.

EDIT: Even in her scenes with Sir, she'll like do something objectively awful to him (but still not as awful as what he did). Then she'll immediately take it back by the end of the episode with some declaration about how she's not like him and she's a good person blah blah blah. Like...look bitch. If you busted his kneecaps, nobody would blame you. If these writers are too cowardly to let Gabi get revenge, then don't write this premise idk.

I disagree on the point that Dhan isn't fully-rounded. Gabi asking him to kill Sir for her made me mad at her purely because we've seen over the course of the season how much Dhan has struggled with his own trauma. While he doesn't seem to mind using physical force to solve problems (which is another issue all on its own tbh), there are some lines he just won't cross. She knows this. She disregarded this.

And even she knows that he was held captive for three (3!!!) whole years. And obviously he wouldn't be okay with her holding Hugh captive. So it was wild of her to act like he was in the wrong for being angry/hurt.

But circling back to the Gabi issue, the writers are afraid to make her the bad guy.

Like they don't want a Black Woman to be a terrible person, so everything she does is justifiable in some way and the characters are likely to forgive her pretty quickly. I've never liked characters where everybody just loved them and was loyal to them for no real discernable reason. And that's what Gabi is giving. It feels like someone's self-insert character, and it annoys me.

It would be nice to see her put some of her PR background to use outside of press conferences. Like IDK...it'd be nice to see her actually do research, but that usually goes to Zeke. We could see her analyze behavior and motive, but that goes to Margaret. When things are a little to hard, she just defers to Sir. So it's like...what does GABI do? She's passionate, but it all feels surface level.

How do you think medic deals with the mercs having an illness rather than an injury? Can he instantly treat a common cold like He can instantly mend bones?

ach, unfortunately no. i cant describe to you how infuriating it is to be able to regrow limbs and almost instantly heal any physical wound with the medigun, but not be able to cure the common cold.... the main problem here is that we're dealing with completely different maladies. repairing damaged tissue is one thing, but - and ill continue with the common cold as an example - colds come from so many types of virus (most common being the rhinovirus though) that mutate so rapidly that in order to develop a cure for it, it would require being able to tackle every single one of those variants simultaneously.

besides, the mediguns were built with injury in mind, for both combat and surgical settings, not for treating illness. treating colds would also require working with the bodys natural immune response as well, which is something i would really love to look into!!

ah, but, im certainly not completely helpless against illness of course! its not too difficult to mitigate or even completely relieve the symptoms caused by illnesses once you know what youre dealing with, and some will be different and easier to deal with than others. there is a very big difference in treating the common cold rather than, say, poisoning. and chronic illness is a completely different can of worms. to be able to cure anything and everything ever asked of me... wouldnt that be wonderful!! its something im always striving for

Here's the last Naja post (maybe. Who knows) as a continuation of this ask. 

It... kinda did turn out rather explicit due to kissing (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄) that aside, can't wait to write another Kaela post for later!

The Monarch readily engulfs Naja in a slow, deep kiss the second their spouse gives consent. Their hand, entwining Naja’s hair to pull them closer, painfully craving to lock them right there, leaving no room to escape from the scorching air between them.

The Monarch chuckles as they dart around Naja’s tongue, pulling back with every fleeting touch, only to return with a fierce hunger for more. Their passion spiraling in a delicious combination of pleasure and pain between nibbles and tender kisses.

Finally, the sweet treat that has been binding their tongues together melts under the warming gasps.

A deep growl escapes the Monarch's throat, their eyes dark as the honeyed essence drips from their stained lips.

Their hands gently lay Naja onto the sofa bed like a delicate treasure. Yet their tongue, fierce and impatient, obsessively lap and devour the tantalizing dessert like fine wine from every inch of Naja's mouth, leaving no corners untouched with unwavering reverence.

Soft gasps and rustling clothes fill the air, the outside world a blur as desire almost engulfs reason.

The Monarch’s hand crawls deep beneath Naja’s clothes, fingertips tracing the soft, damp skin of the stomach, as their lips brush against Naja’s earlobe and kiss it softly.

“No one will disturb us,” The Monarch murmurs, “But I want you to tell me if you’re comfortable going further or not.”

“I want you to feel safe.”

You know, the show talks a big game about Lacey and Gabi having this connection but you’re right, where it actually shows is with Margaret. That’s where I see the obvious soft spot. She’s the only person Gabi seems really respect and not want to push. And Margaret obviously cares for her deeply I was shocked at how she physically reacted to Dhan when she thought he was responsible for Gabi’s disappearance. I wish we could see them actually have proper conversations that aren’t just about the cases because their dynamic fascinates me.

OH YEAH! Margaret loves Dhan but she was ready to beat his ass when she found out Gabi was taken. I don’t think we’ve ever seen her that angry. And you’re right. The connection she supposedly has with Lacey is definitely more illustrated in her connection with Marg. Because if it was REALLY the way they claimed, Lacey would’ve been the one to run up on Dhan for Gabi going missing.

Side note: These writers don’t give a single shit about Lacey lol like at all. At this point you could almost remove her from the show and it wouldn’t make a difference. And I hate that for my girl, I really do. Literally everyone else has a storyline but her. We have no idea what’s going on in her life, other than the fact that she MIGHT be seeing Zeke.

Now that Theo knows more about the demon world, I have hopes that the story will switch gears a bit. It’ll likely be more story driven than relationship driven.

I don’t mind if the story isn’t relationship driven, especially if Theo is learning how to move on and be at home with herself.

Apologies if it's already been answered but regarding Naja: how do they communicate? Do they sign at all, or write?

The thing with Naja is that they often don't even feel the need/pull to communicate - either verbally or non-verbally.

It's only upon meeting the Monarch, the first person they feel comfortable with in years, that Naja starts to try to communicate, because they want to make an effort to be a good spouse. When they can't talk (which happens all the time at first, and almost always in public), they will write. Or sign - however they know very little sign language, unfortunately, so they will need to learn together with the Monarch.

Ach Nina, bin ich jetzt tatsächlich aufgeregt, weil Klaas zur Fernsehpreis-Verleihung kommt, obwohl gar nicht seine sondern Jokos Show nominiert ist? Ja bin ich! Ich hab damit überhaupt nicht gerechnet und bin soo gespannt, was passiert. Ob wir was von den beiden sehen werden, auch wenn wsmds nicht gewinnt? Denn so sehr ich es mir wünsche, ich kann noch nicht so recht daran glauben, dass wsmds zweimal hintereinander ausgezeichnet wird. Du hast vor kurzem in Deinen tags geschrieben, Klaas liebt diese Show mehr als wir alle zusammen. So langsam glaub ich das auch, und es ist alles, was zählt ❤️.

Hach meine Lieben, das war so, so schön.

Und mal wieder ein Beweis dafür, dass man am besten nicht versucht, JK im Vorhinein einzuschätzen. Denn ich denke einige von uns haben auf Bilder auf dem Roten Teppich und ein bisschen Turtelei gehofft und was stattdessen kam war so viel - passender?

Es war nicht wie beim Grimme Preis. Es war ganz anders. Das war Jokos Preis. Im Nachhinein macht es natürlich Sinn, dass Klaas nicht mit ihm und dem Team über den Roten Teppich läuft, Fotos mit ihnen/Joko macht und auch nur ein Minimum Aufmerksamkeit auf sich (oder auf sie als Duo) zieht, wenn es darum nicht gehen soll.

Klaas war nur für Joko da.

Nicht, um sich zu zeigen. Einfach, um für ihn da zu sein und Jokos Erfolg mit ihm zu feiern.

Da steckt so ein echter Stolz und so eine aufrichtige Freude für den anderen hinter, es macht mein Herz nur noch butterweich.

Und Joko kann es mühelos sehen, perfekt einschätzen und honoriert es damit, Klaas öffentlich nicht nur dafür zu danken, sondern ihn ganz bewusst im Publikum zu suchen und direkt zu adressieren, um ihm seine Wertschätzung dafür spüren zu lassen.

Ich habe JK auf Preisveranstaltungen immer schon geliebt und zu sehen, wie sie sich auch in dem Rahmen entwickelt haben, macht mich wirklich glücklich. Sie sind mittlerweile nicht nur noch Joko&Klaas, sie werden als einzelne Personen wahrgenommen. Aber das macht ihre Verbindung nicht weniger innig, ganz im Gegenteil.

Sie sind immer noch Partner. Klaas' bloße Anwesenheit beweist, wie wichtig sie füreinander sind und wie sehr sie ihre Erfolge miteinander teilen und gemeinsam feiern wollen.

Zu guter letzt lass ich Joko das Ganze nochmal zusammenfassen. Besser als er kann ich es nämlich nicht sagen.

(Wie süß ist Klaas bitte, dass er Joko vorher sagt er kommt, um ihn zu unterstützen?!)
