#my point is just that it's really important storywise to show that this isn't because he really doesn't want that life

the interaction between wille and malin in ep 6 is super interesting to me because wille is showing a degree of professionalism and confidence that he doesn't show very often. Throughout the series it appears as a way to show that as much as he doesn't see it, he does have the makings of a good Crown Prince, even Kristina has said it
this makes it all the more important that you realize that wille's decision at the end of the episode is because he doesn't want this and not because he can't do it. we've seen plenty of evidence throughout the seasons that wille actually has a lot of solid leadership skills and the right mindset as a leader when he puts them to use in the right places
but none of that matters because he doesn't want that life or that role

I don't hate this episode, in fact I loved it. I spent half of the episode laughing my ass off and blushing because of how cute they both were. But I think the reason why people are so conflicted about it is the fact that it is in fact a filler episode.
That doesn't mean it is unimportant, because that would be a lie. It was very important because it gave us an insight into Kinnporsche relationship and I think that was lovely.
But the thing is that storywise nothing really happens. The ghost thing was great for comedic effect but ridiculous when it comes to balancing a serious tone for the show. And another problem is that the show is been released weekly. Filler episodes work best when you are binge watching a show, it allows you to balance everything out and gives you space to breathe. But when you have to wait an entire week and all you end up with is that, Almost fifty minutes of fluff and comedy in a show that is meant to be more than that. It's not easy at all, it doesn't mean it is bad it just means that you as a consumer wants more.
While watching the show you feel great and happy and by the end you are left with a void, a sense of emptiness that manifests itself as disappointment and anger in the product you have been fed.
I understand that no one is making you watch the show as it is releasing, I have many friends who have resolved to wait until it is done airing in order to watch it and that is good for them. People who can't wait have to bear the emotions that come with it, if you were binge watching you could easily jump into the next episode and all these feelings wouldn't be here but unfortunately it isn't so.
I guess my point is that it wasn't a bad episode, it just didn't match expectations. And that isn't on the makers or actors, but we are all human and we can't really control our feelings but please no one should send hate or too much unwarranted criticism because you are mad and have decided to nitpick and bring out the shows flaws.
Although I have to agree with @myezblog about the show lagging behind on the plot front. We are still waiting for the mafia setting to really come alive and to understand where we are going with the plot, we need more than Kim's vague statements and investigation that doesn't really make sense. What made the last episode so fun was how we dived deeper into the world these characters lived in and it also had more of other characters that we love than this one did.
I choose to believe the show will deliver soon enough. (Also Vegaspete shippers take heart, our ship will sail sooner or later.馃槝)
@angie-the-doll and @myezblog I hope you guys like this.
(If you have any questions or need any analysis on the episode don't forget to send me asks.)

Hi! I hope you don't mind me coming to ask for more help with my Ballet!AU but something that's been on my mind, especially since I was at Swan Lake today, is that The Firebird is extremely short compared to a lot of the other big name shows, at less than an hour, and I'm curious if people are happy to go for that length or if modern versions have been stretched out to fit a longer runtime? It's not a big issue storywise it's just bugging me because it feels like it's very short.
Another thing I was wondering, has the Firebird and Tsarevna ever been played by the same performer, or are they always separate? The reason I'm asking is I want JC to have the most important role in the show, but it seems like the Prince is the lead character, and the Firebird isn't on very much overall - although I suppose the same could be said for Swan Lake 馃?
I'm just struggling to get a grip on which show is ideally suited to have JC in constant rehearsals with LWJ, who really wishes he was dancing with WWX because he fancies both but has only figured out he's attracted to WWX and resents JC for having WWX's attention, even while being into JC. There is also ChengXian and the story will likely end in ZhanChengXian -- I wanted to be upfront on that in case that ship would make you uncomfortable and if you'd rather I not bother you as a result, just let me know.
I am absolutely here for more ballet!au talk. Firebird is certainly shorter than a three act ballet like Swan Lake, which means it鈥檚 usually staged as part of a mixed bill alongside one or two other shorter works. That鈥檚 a pretty normal staging so extending the runtime would need some justification, and I don鈥檛 think you鈥檇 need to.
Any company is going to be rehearsing more than one production at once, they can鈥檛 afford to take a month or more between performances after all, so even if Firebird is the one everyone鈥檚 focusing on it won鈥檛 be the only rehearsals they鈥檙e running. LWJ won鈥檛 be rehearsing with JC all the time in practice but that doesn鈥檛 mean he won鈥檛 feel like it, particularly if he鈥檚 dealing with all that. I get your point around stage time but that being said, if you鈥檙e looking at on stage interaction Ivan and the firebird are together quite a lot - I鈥檓 pretty sure that he spends more time with the firebird than with Tsarevna. I think you could get more than enough mileage out of LWJ getting madder every time he鈥檚 rehearsing with JC, that the firebird is where his focus needs to be even though he wants to be looking at WWX. You could put JC & WWX in one of the other dances in the mixed bill to provide additional LWJ jealousy fodder :)
