(Late) Dadbastian week: October 31st-Trick or treat

I could've finished this sooner if I had done something quicker, but I really wanted to put more effort into it and make something more elaborate. We don't really celebrate Halloween in my country (at least not like in other places) so I've never been as enthusiastic about it, but I do enjoy making some spooky season art once in a while, and what better chance than a fandom week dedicated to my favorite duo? This also will probably be my last entry as I have exams soon (I should've started working on my Dadbastian art ages ago but, y'know, adhd 😞). But hey, if I pass these exams I'll have the whole summer free which means more art 👀 I'm just happy that I was able to participate, even with just a few entries, and I still plan to make and post the art I had in mind for the other prompts some day 🙂

Anyway, hope y'all enjoy my third entry for @dadbastianweek2023! I tried to emulate the style of those official illustrations by Yana but with my own personal touch 🎃

Babey wants to be just like his dad 🥺 (Don't worry, he's already forgiven Sebas for half-blinding him when he tried to eat him while in a feral state ✌️).

What are some things from the 2nd book you absolutely want to see next season, and why? I’ve always seen book 2 as a very intimate look at grief. It’s so sad, and I really think informs the decisions all of the characters make. I’m curious to see how they tackle that. I’d love to hear your take. I’ve been following your observations and always love what you have to say. 🙂

One of my favorite parts of book two was the way it showed everyone's grief, in as you said, an intimate way. As someone who has personal experience with grieving the loss of a close family member, it's really important to me to see the grief part done well and realistically, if that makes sense. It was done so well in the books, like even the way Laurel is in the background to sad to even remember to eat and just locking herself away in her office so Belly and Steven won't see her being sad just gets me and I hope they show that in the show. I liked that the books showed Susannah's funeral (despite what happened between Conrad and Belly there) and just how raw everyone's emotions were. You could really feel how sad everyone was. So I hope the show gives us that same intimate, raw look at grief, and carries it through into the 3rd season (bc you could tell how they were still a little sad in the 3rd book even though it had been a few years).

Thing I most want to see is Conrad and Belly's December night. I want to see him picking her up and waiting outside for her, giving her his sweater because she forgot to put her coat on, and I want to see all of their conversations in Cousins in entirety. I want to see how awkward and careful he is at first, sitting on the other side of the couch, and I want to feel how much they both want each other but he slows her down and is super gentle, just everything in that chapter on my screen please.

And the infinity necklace. Even though it's already been introduced, I hope it comes back for season 2 like in the book. I want to see her find it and be confused and surprised and put it on. I need that whole bit after Conrad catches her kissing Jeremiah with the necklace on where he asks for it back and tells her she knows what it means. I want to see how shattered his heart is in that moment. And then I need the entire motel scene. I hope they do that right.

I also want to see Adam being an asshole and Laurel calling him out and saving the house. And the dynamic sort of changing between Belly and the boys, the angst and jealous between them. Because for me reading how the boys slowly began to realize they both really wanted her and she wanted both of them cracked me up. And there were just some funny conversations between them when they were all at the house together. And the way they belly flop her before they leave I need to see too.

Idk I feel like the book is SO good and I hope they do it justice and maybe add some more flashbacks and things they didn't have time to add in season 1. Apparently Cam Cameron was on set filming season 2 and I wonder if Nicole and the other girls will be back too...my prediction is that there either simply just at the funeral or else they come to the party the boys and Belly have on what they believe is their last night in the beach house (at least that's what I hope their involvement is! I don't want a bunch of other/new plotlines and characters taking away from the story and plot).

The fact that they had a college set they were filming at makes me so happy bc the college scenes were so good! I hope they include the scene where they're out on the lawn and Conrad comes back from his exam and tells them he passed and is all excited and picks Belly up and spins her around and then Jeremiah is just looking on like 🙄.

Me currently I'm depressed

As I've told u b4 the exam that I'll be giving on 17th of this month is a really big exam, it'll determine my future, but this year the system was soooo unjust. Usually for exam we get proper 12 months bcs in this exam 11th and 12th grade physics chem and biology come combined and the question paper has a total of 200 questions out of which we have to answer 180 to score full marks (720) in 3 hrs.

U see bcs of corona, unlike other countries, our schooling went downhill

And me being so unlucky, i was in the unluckiest school batches of all, the batch of 2021😭

12th finals got canceled, schooling was also not done properly (and in our country 10th, 12th and then entrance exams literally decide our career)

So, for this entrance exam, most people of my batch from the whole country took a drop (we also gave the entrance exam the same year we 'passed' 12th but since we lacked even the basic knowledge bcs srsly no classes were taken properly during online school, it went really bad)

Now there is, or should i say WAS, an age limit of 25 for general catagory (like its complicated here, there's general catagory which get no benefit and then like sc and st and ews which are protected tribes and castes who dont even have taxes to pay and are literally immune to everything, plus their cutoff for exam is also low AND THEY ALSO HAVE 80% RESERVED SEATS IN ALL COLLEGES....I'm general🥲)

But this year even that was removed(age limit)....so now anyone can give exam...and lets say there are only 10000 seats for us(generals, which btw the others can also get, the 10k seats are just unreserved seats but since their cuttoff is low they can get the seat there....lol) in this exam right? There are 180000+ candidates this year...🥲

Now the exam due to corona last year had late counseling rounds which lasted up to april of this year (it decides which college we get) and we gave exam on september, which was also bcs of corona hence late exam

Then....this month we have our exam which barely gave us 9 months to prepare all over again.....we begged the exam conducting body to postpone...they didn't....and if u see the situation the country is in rn (like there are literal floods, landslides and everything going on rn in 24/29 states here) they still wont postpone.....

Idk if u read this

In short I'm very depressed

Students even filed a case in HC but they just ridiculed us and the case was dismissed within 1hr........

hiii, im doing good thank you so much !! but hey, im sorry about that situation. like.. that's unfair for the learners. every aspect of it; the quality of education, the allocation of slots and the time to prepare is a bit unfair to you guys. i mean with the way the education system is going right now, the students made a lot of adjustments for the new methods of the government and different educational institutions, i think it's only fair for them to adjust these factors related to the exams too. that's really sad, cause students are always on the receiving end of the problems, may it be about an issue with the allotted time to review or the slots to be given, students always get the shorter end of the stick bc those in position refuse to adjust :(( im not really familiar with how your education system works but i get why you feel so down. things concerning our future can cause great stress bc it feels like everything depends on it and it probably does, but it's gonna be fine, you're gonna be fine, nonnie !! i hope you feel better soon and i wish you luck on everything !! <33

ive been struggling a lot with concentration and motivation for university the past year and while i still manage to pass most of my classes somehow since i know i can do a lot better its really frustrating

the first exam session i had in law school went really well i had very good grades and i was motivated to study so even tho i always had concentration issues and never was able to focus during class i passed my exams

but now on top of the concentration problems im not even able to study proprely during the exam session so my grades went down

however i feel like maybe im finding a good environment to study

rn do you see me succeeding this school year? do you have any advices?

Hi! Well, yes but not immediately

As someone that is still struggling with motivation with university, i completely understand how are you feeling, is really stressful to be in that place. Just remember that there is always going to be really good days and bad days, you can try organization methods, other places to study, lessen the distractions or search help with a professional that can oriented you in a direction for you to find a tool to manage that (im personally going for the last option but that decision is yours to make). Whatever you decide is try and error sometimes, don't give up, university and life in general have moments were things don't go the way we want but we can make the best out of them

Guys, seriously, omfg. Whatever higher power is out there really looked at me and said, "Its the week before spring break, let's give her HELL."

I literally can't, and I'd say, of tomorrow is Friday then I'm good, but I have a make or break chem exam tomorrow and I've had to study all day with a migraine and everything aching bc of the in coming storm.....

If anyone is willing, I would like them to come take me out behind the nearest barn and shoot me, thanks.

#im very disgruntled #my dorm neighbor who likes to blast music got a new bluetooth speaker 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂#on top of that #i was stretching this morning and barely tapped the sprinkler cover and it fell off and gave me a heart attack #i barely touched the fucker! and then it had the audacity to not want to go back on so i had to get maintenance #on the upside #through a migraine and lots of frustration with trying to block out my neighbor i managed to get a 70% on the practice exam #so hopefully i can pass the exam tomorrow #i need to or im gonna end up failimg my first college class #which is still a strong possiblity #fuck chemistry honestly if you understand it youre either a god or youve made a pact with the devil #bc im smart im not dumb but my brain jusy does not compute that shit #god these last 2 weeks have been a rollar coaster and im ready for spring break #this storm better not end up being too bad or im gonna scream bc i wanna go home tomorrow and if it is bad i cant #anywayyyyyyyy #(side thought though: ive been thinking about it and i think im gonna rewrite merman and the lighthouse keeper #im just not happy with it as it is rn and i know i can do better #thats honestly one reason i havent written the next chapter bc how it is now idk how to move forward with the story i have planned out #idk we'll see)#anyway hope everyone elses weeks are treating them better #if not you can come wallow with me

Chan deserves the world, but I only hurt him :') Idk why I keep doing this 😭 TMO aside, all I ever outline for Chan are angsty stories, it's kind of disturbing LOL. I blame Yoon Jeonghan just cuz 😂 I'm not sure if you know, but Vernon is actually a HUGE simp fanboy of the artist Charli XCX! It got to the point where she finally found out about him hahaha and they did a recent collab, remixing her song, Beg For You! In the context of the story, if you remember OC is a huge fan of Woozi. Similarly, Vernon is a huge fan of Charli XCX, except he may love her more than OC loves Woozi 😂🤣 I hope this makes sense! If not, lmk and I can try to expalin better YO!!!! I'm SHOOK!! I'm not sure if people notice, but my chapter titles are lyrics from Seventeen songs that I feel suit the theme of the chapter. I was actually looking at 'Lie Again' when searching for a title chapter - I can't believe I missed it! I took something from 'Light A Flame' instead 🤣

I'm pretty indifferent about the English single 😂 I'm just happy to see music from them again! They are a very active group on social media, but I still miss them a lot :( Tbh, it's no surprise to me that they're doing this though, especially since they've joined HYBE, which is notorious for pushing the Western agenda (I have thoughts on this, but we will save it for another time LMAO) I've actually been a fan of BTS longer than SVT, just not super involved the fandom because . . . well you know how some of their fans can get 😅 Anyways, I've seen this whole process with BTS, then with TXT, and now, I guess, SVT - I figured the English single was coming soon. Especially with English songs being better accepted in the Kpop community (thinking about Ten's Paint Me Naked, Loona's Dancing On My Own, etc.), it was only a matter of time! Mingyu also mentioned wanting to do an OT13 English song and Vernon was spotted working with one of HYBE's American producers, Melanie Fontana too. I don't think there's anything wrong with it per se - if anything, it'll just open more doors for them in terms of creativity and opportunities. I'm excited to see where it can take them, and what this leads up to in regards to the new FULL album. Hbu? What are your thoughts?

I'm aware 😭 It's the app I use - it's glitchy sometimes. I've tried to see if I could fix it, but it just stays that way, mixing up names and photos.
