Princess Leia: Oh, you can be sure I'm not planning on using it for any specific purpose in the near future [glares in frustration at Luke]. like i think a lot of early seasons dean getting mad and then getting over it is like. bad emotional regulation, still, but he's hyperaware that people can and will leave him and there's a line to cross. thinking about that fight they have in scarecrow where dean literally repeats john's words to sam because he just doesn't know what else to say and then literally the next morning he's calling sam and apologizing and telling him that he's proud of him etc. like dean's always mad because his life is shit and he doesn't know how to not take things personally and it's like an understandable mode of existence. but he used to also have these moments where he'd come to his senses because he knows he can't push people too far (sad why he gets here but good in terms of like. just how he ends up treating people i suppose.)

but by the time we get to s15 he's like..he just does not have that fear anymore. and even if he does it's just so fucking warped like thinking about divorce arc!!! he literally was soooo cruel to cas but when cas was walking away he was legit surprised! he was like where the fuck are you going! like.hello??? i don't think he consciously makes them his punching bags but somewhere along the line I think he kind of internalizes that they're all gonna only have each other WITHOUT understanding it properly. so he's like existing in this new reality with the same old trigger happy brain that's on the edge of blowing up at people at all times. but he's got this unearned confidence (which he himself doesn't know where it's coming from and he feels both absolutely entitled to and entirely fucked in the head about (because he still thinks he's not good for anyone and they should all leave him but that's like his worst fear yk)) and it makes him. worse. well worsebetter if you enjoy this kind of spiral into the inevitable cycle of violence but yeah.

Sci-Fi in general is frequently and repeatedly a conveyance of political and social messaging to the point it's basically essential to the genre. The first Sci-Fi story, Frankenstein, was quite literally about a narrow-minded populous misinterpreting something they were unfamiliar with as monsterous, and the creature's right to happiness as a living being. The genre as a whole arguably always has been "woke".

Atleast in modern day, Doctor Who has the budget to convey these ideas with some visual flair, and not as the one-take practically as-live affair it was in the 60s...

I feel like I get more and more pissed off anytime I watch q!Bad make a move. So here’s the rant after seeing the clip and following with what @/daisyychainssj said about Leo’s Ninho room:

Why on god’s green earth would he allow Bagi into Leo’s room and allow her to grab the warp into the room.

Yeah maybe it was to do with the size of the room but maybe they could have you know waited and asked to check Richas’ room or waited until her parent or Leo was online.

He also knows full well that there is hollow walls inside the Ninho that could be turned into unofficial/temporary rooms for those eggs and that Leo’s room doesn’t have to be touched at all.

But also since he remembers enough about the Ninho and how it works with his memory loss then he goddamn knows the significance of those rooms and he just broke the main fucking rule.

Which is that the ninho rooms are SAFE SPACES FOR THE EGG THAT OWNS THE ROOM, that ONLY the egg, their parents and TRUSTED individuals can reach.

Do Leo and Bagi know each other?? Hmm that’s looking like a solid no. How well does Leo know the new eggs? Wait they don’t know and neither does Leo because they just recently met. Do they forget Leo is shy and not always social? yes she trust the eggs she knows but how often does she get online for anyone but her family?? Looking like about 5% which is usually because Foolish or Roier have outside factors stopping them from taking care of her.

Also he’s not her parent, he doesn’t get to make decisions for Leo just because he took care of her like 2 or 3 times and he knows her parent. That’s stupid and demeans Foolish’s parenting.

In conclusion, Bad should have never stepped foot in Leo’s room with Bagi today. It makes no sense lore wise or even just him showing her. Despite his “respect” for all the eggs, he really needs to check himself first before he does anything. Because any time he’s messed with an eggs stuff it’s always been Leo and sorry but Leo isn’t Foolish. That dynamic should be keep completely separate and to say this isn’t disrespect is a lie because it is.

This isn’t even like bad roleplay anymore it’s just disrespect because how in lore will any of them know about it unless bagi uses it in front of them.

Every time i cringe when old of mine gets notes again, I then get this kinda swell of pride

Like man I never would've thought that a silly doodle I did in the middle of a hyperfix in 2019 would over 4 years later bring a smile to someones face

Like how many times I've gone down internet rabbit holes and found fanart over a decade old but still managed to bring a smile to my face, how many abandoned fics and comics and art people dont really think abt anymore still bring me joy when I stumble upon them

And I might not be proud of my old work because I've improved and I get embarrassed because I know I could do so much better if I re-did it nowadays, but like thats not the point. When I made it way back when it made me happy, and while it's not up to my personal standards anymore, it still makes other ppl happy. Other ppl arent holding my old art to the standards i am.

My one lil moment of joy that sparked a doodle inspiration kinda went across time and brought a smile to someone else's face way down the line when im not even really in the fandom that doodle was for anymore

AUs I've since gone back and went "eugh" with because I know I couldve approached them with better designs and writing nowadays, even tho I don't think it's good enough, someone else does, and like. thats just. thats just nice.

@gracestgalaxy also had an incredibly sharp idea to put the polls under a read more to further protect those who understandably don’t want to see that stuff. but yes, likewise, i regret that it took me so long to be reminded of the actual blacklist functionality, but thankful nonetheless. i’ve gone back and edited all polls to be marked with the appropriate disclaimers, tag, and read more, and will continue to do so. if there still remains more that i could do to prioritize the safety and comfort of everyone involved, i’ll always have an open ear.

i deeply appreciate everyone’s cooperation. i also deeply appreciate those calling me out on this, as, again, the comfort and safety of my followers is one of my biggest priorities. i never want anyone to be alienated or harmed through my ignorance. likewise, those who have are under no obligation to forgive me. i just again hope for my intentions to be clear—i know saying “i take no pleasure in doing this” doesn’t mean much when i still end up following the obligation to do it. this applies to both the polls and my reviews and anything else that may fall under that umbrella. i just hope to make it as clear as possible that i am exceedingly aware of this and always searching for ways to make this process as painless and as inclusive as i possibly can.

i’ve said it before: at the end of the day, none of what i really say matters. i’m not affected by these harmful caricatures and so it’s certainly not in my place to dictate how people should feel about them. i’m always looking to listen to voices of color to see how i can better my process and myself. i just hope for it to be known that, as a historian, i do feel it an obligation to take stock of that ugly history too when such a situation arises, as much from a purely observational lens as i can. it’s just as much history as all the squeaky clean bits.

regardless, i more than recognize the issues that this is nevertheless going to spur, and as much as i can argue that i’m doing it in the name of objectivity and condemn said racism with all my heart, those issues still exist, the racist stuff is still racist, and it’s not in my place nor right to speculate or comment on harmful stereotypes and caricatures that do not affect me. i just ask for your patience and likewise understand and accept those who do not feel they owe it to give it to me. i’m not owed anything. i just hope to inspire a little more transparency and assert that i am aware of this and doing what i can to minimize as much harm as i am able to.
