*SIMS 4 VAN LIFE CHALLENGE*

Here's a new challenge I created that was inspired by the globetrotter challenge by moonfi and jaechy celebracy let's play on YouTube. I call this

The Van Life Challenge

Your sims start off in a city apartment, unhappy with mundane living, they decide to sell their apartment and some of their belongings to purchase a van/trailer/camper mobile home and travel through the worlds! Complete each location aspiration mentioned and follow the challenge rules. Must have these packs; City living, Snowy Escape, Island living, Seasons, and Tiny living but you can add any other packs you wanna play !

*MAIN RULES*

Age range: Teen-Elder

- Must turn lifespan on long or you can play with it off.

- Must have seasons length set for 28 days.

- Main character (s) must have the Non-committal trait.

- Must complete all 3 location aspirations: City native, Mt.Komorebi sightseer, and Beach life. Must complete one aspiration before moving on to the next world.

- must work in freelance, be self employeed. Can work in freelance career, part time + do side jobs but cannot work a full-time career. (Ex: you can be a painter but cannot work in the painter career)

- must live in a mobile home (camper, rv, van, mobile trailer). With the exception of the beginning of the challenge .

- must live in three different neighborhoods within the current world you're in before completing aspiration.

- Must have simple living home lot challenge on every lot you live on (whichever way you choose to play).

*start off with under $3000 unless you're playing with the Off the Grid & Tech friendly way.

*Gameplay suggestions*

You can play this two ways : Off the grid or Tech friendly.

Off the grid- off the grid lot challenge required. no electricity, no tech items besides your phone. Must go out for food (food stalls, restaurants, friends house) can have grill, cooler and make quick meals ONLY. Rarely at home. Suggested traits- (Loves the outdoors or adventurous) start off with $0-500 simoleons and a mobile home that needs renovations. Lot traits- (Grimey, filthy, creepy crawlies, grody, geothermal, natural well)

Tech friendly- only makes food in mobile home, all tech items on deck, electricity on, has everything they need in the trailer, rarely goes out . Start off with $500-$5000 simoleons and a nice trailer. Tiny home bill reduction, Simple living lot traits is required and suggested lot traits are fast internet, eco lot, geothermal, natural well, homey, chef kitchen, peace and quiet) Suggested traits; geek, genius, loner or bookworm trait would go great with this.

* You can start with a new sim or a sim you already play with. Can live solo or with a group of friends or family in a mobile home community (must be vans/campers/rv/ mobile home builds).

*Guidelines-

City Living- must live in San Myshuno, start off in an apartment in whatever neighborhood you want to. Have your Sims give someone a key to their apartment then sell any items you don't want to help pay for your mobile home. Once you sell your items, leave the apartment and move into your mobile home to whatever neighborhood you want except Uptown, no mobile homes in Uptown. If you are playing off the grid, reset your Sims funds between $0-500 , if you're playing tech friendly, have your Sims start off with $500-5000. Complete the city native aspiration. DO NOT move out of world until aspiration is complete. When you reach the $100,000 apartment requirement in the city native aspiration, move into an apartment then sell all items and move to Mt. Komo in your mobile home immediately after aspiration is complete!

Mt.Komorebi sightseer- must live in mobile home, can start in any neighborhood but must live in at least 3 different neighborhoods and whatever you made and created in previous city you can bring with you. Can start making improvements to trailer if necessary. Other rules apply, complete Mt.Komo sightseer aspiration and move to Sulani immediately after aspiration is completed.

Beach life- must live in mobile home, can make renovations to trailer. Can start in whatever neighborhood must live in at least 3 different neighborhoods. Continue to build on the life you have created, and complete the beach life aspiration. Once you are done then you have completed the van life challenge! You can continue this in different worlds and make your own rules or be done with it!

*note*- the city native aspiration requires you to live in an apartment the first and last level of the aspiration. After you complete each of those specific requirements, move to mobile home immediately. This will make it fun for storyline purposes!

Final words:

By no means do you have to stick to everything included, switch it up, make it your own, and add some spice to the storylines for these Sims! You can collab this with other challenges as well. I have created a playlist of mobile homes to help you complete the challenge! Once I get my laptop I will create my own trailers and Sims for you all to add to your game! Sims 4 Expansion Legacy Challenge

This has probably been done before, but in 2021 I came up with what I'm calling the Expansion Legacy challenge. It's kind of like the legacy challenge but you go through each Expansion pack.

So you’ll start with one sim, and that sim’s goal is to complete the first Sims 4 expansion pack, which is Get to Work. That sim’s child will complete the second expansion (Get Together) and that sim’s child will complete the third (City Living) and so on and so forth, until you complete all expansion packs. As of December 2023, a completed family should have 15 generations - but I will update this post as each expansion pack comes out! 

The goal is to reach the top of a career that comes with the expansion pack, and finish the pack's Aspiration. If the pack doesn’t have a career, you can choose another one (or none!) but you don’t have to reach the top of it, just focus on the Aspiration. If there’s no Aspiration, focus on the career. If there’s both, you have to reach the top of both. 

For each expansion pack, your Sim should:

- wear clothes/hairstyles from their generation’s expansion pack

- live in a house decorated with Build/Buy stuff from their pack

- live in the world that came with the expansion pack

- optional: have traits that came with their expansion pack

There is another expansion pack coming out soon, and I don’t know if there are any careers or Aspirations coming with it, but once I play it I’ll update this post :) 

And this challenge does require you move your Sim from town to town, so it’s probably best to have a house prepared a generation ahead. I have some good ones on my blog :) Feel free to ask me any questions you may have!

Animalia Challenge

Hello, and welcome to the Animalia Legacy Challenge! The rules are simple:

The rules don’t matter! Have fun! This is all just a loose guideline for you to create your own story. It’s not the end of the world if you change which skill is needed or if you cheat money, ect. I really don’t mind. 

You’ll need a cemetery to keep your dead legacy sims. 

Some of these are easier with mods installed like the all worlds are residential mod, extreme violence mod and wicked whims. Just keep that in mind. If you don’t want to install those go ahead and either skip that portion or change it so it suits you! You don’t like a generation? Skip it! Just adapt your own story so it makes sense. 

That being said, please try to complete the aspiration and skills for each generation as well as the goals I’ve outlined.

Play with any lifespan you like! The shorter the lifespan the harder the challenge. 

Gen 1- Wolf

Aspiration: Llama Drama

Career: NA/High school student

Traits: Socially Awkward, Romantic

Color Association: Brown/Cream

Story: After fleeing your abusive mothers house with your older sister you settle down in Copperdale. Starting a new highschool is scary and you have a hard time adjusting to the new classes, not to mention the new classmates. It isn’t long before you have your heart set on a certain someone who is suspiciously cold and pale. This is much to the chagrin of your new best friend who is secretly a werewolf. You do your best to listen to your friend and stay away from your crush but it's no use. You are just irrevocably in love with them. As your romance blooms with your coldblooded honey, you slowly begin to realize you also have feelings for your best friend. Who will you choose? The vampy lover or your wolfy best friend?

Live in Copperdale with your older, young adult, sister. 

Go to the local HS and fall in love with both your werewolf best friend and your vampire lover. 

Maintain a close relationship with your sister and go out to dinner together every friday. 

Adopt a wolf dog and become companions. (you can adopt a dog and edit them using cas.fulleditmode)

Become valedictorian in highschool 

No skills for this gen since you will be working on those during your young adult and adult years.  

You can use money cheats for this gen and give them as much as you want. 

Gen 1 part 2- Wolf 

Aspiration: Academic

Career: E-sports competitor while attending university then become a Tech Guru

Traits: Socially Awkward, Romantic, Bookworm

Color Association: Gray

Skills: Writing, Research & debate, Video gaming

Story: After graduating high school you are faced with a big decision; what university do I attend? While you navigate the highs and lows of your academic career you realize that dating an occult is harder than you thought. You become determined to help them reverse their curse and turn them back into a regular sim. Once cured and graduated from college you have two amazing children together and move to Sulani to live out your days in paradise. 

Your sister gives you 30,000 to start your life away from home.

Start a video gaming club and go to the Geekcon festival where you enter the Ultimate Gaming Test. 

Make sure your pet wolf never dies by giving it age-down treats. This is your companion for life, take care of them!

While in uni you can live anywhere as long as it allows you to bring your wolf. 

Maintain an A or B average while in university. 

Help your partner (either vampire or werewolf) become human again.

Read at least 8 books during your young adult and adult life

Once your occult lover is human you can marry them and have two kids.

Gen 2- Flamingo

Aspiration: Party Animal

Career: Comedian

Traits: Goofball, hotheaded, self absorbed 

Color Association: Pink

Skills: Charisma, Comedy, Mixology

Story: Growing up you always knew two things to be true; someday you’d be famous, and you were also the funniest person alive. At least between you and your sibling you were the funniest person alive. You spend your whole life making people double over with laughter but were they laughing with you or at you? Starting as a young adult you move to San Myshuno where you rent a dingy studio apartment after your parents kick you out for refusing to go to college. You have 15,000 simoleons to your name thanks to the life guard job you had as a teenager. 

Start as young adult with 15,000 simoleons

Live at 910 Medina Studios.

Only practice telling jokes at lounges/bars where a microphone is present. 

Reach and maintain Proper Celebrity fame level until the next gen is a young adult. 

Have a child with your soulmate when you are late into your young adult life stage. Slowly grow apart from your soulmate over the course of your life until you divorce right before your kid moves out. 

Move into a celebrity mansion in Del Sol Valley. (You can edit one of the mansions so it's more affordable. The point is to have a celebrity home on the hill).

Either go out to a bar or throw a party every other night. 

Admire yourself in the mirror every morning because you’re a beautiful flamingo baby! 

Gen 3- Frog

Aspiration: Country Caretaker

Career: Vet

Traits: Animal enthusiast, Green fiend, non committal

Color Association: Green

Skills: Cross-stitch, Gardening, Vet

Story: Being raised by a famous parent definitely took its toll on you. You shied away from the spotlight all your life and all you really want is to live a quiet life on a farm. Watching your parents slowly resent each other caused you to realize that you can’t really trust love, no matter how good it is in the beginning. Once your parents divorce is finalized you reach your breaking point and move to the country to explore a different side of life. 

Your parents give you 30,000 to start your own farm. 

Have at least two barn animals, one chicken coop, and two pets (cats or dogs). 

Befriend a fox and give them an outfit.

Either kill or be bffs with Agnes Crumplebottom (I suggest poison using the extreme violence mod)

Your lot must have the Simple Living lot challenge trait and the Off The Grid trait.

Open your own veterinary clinic in Henford-on-Bagley and have it reach 4 stars. (optional- get 5 stars. I know this is broken in some peoples games so if you can only reach 4 stars you’re okay!)

Win a 1st place ribbon at the Finchwick Fair in any category. 

Have two kids from different one night stands who help you around the farm until the eldest is a young adult. 

Complete the frog collection. Ribbit. 

Gen 4- Polar Bear 

Aspiration: Extreme Sports Enthusiast  

Career: Astronaut

Traits: Genius, adventurous, erratic

Color Association: White

Skills: Snowboarding, Rock Climbing, Rocket Science

Story: Growing up on a farm can often become boring for someone who is destined for the stars. You always knew you were different from your family; they were interested in the weather and crops and you were interested in what was beyond the storm clouds. With your parent’s blessing you leave for college in Mt. Komorebi where you discover your love for extreme sports and academia. 

Parents give you 20,000 to start your new life. 

Travel to outerspace and meet an alien. Fall in love with that alien and have a baby (or multiple). Send any and all babies back to Sixam. Marry this alien. 

While married, have an affair with two different non-alien sims at the same time. Maintain all three relationships at the same time throughout your adult life. Have at least one baby from one of these illicit affairs. 

Woohoo in a rocketship.

Take your family on a weekly hike or outing. During these outings try to alternate interactions between mean and friendly.

Climb to the top of Mt. Komorebi and camp there for the night. 

Go for a swim while the weather is freezing. The cold never bothered you anyway.

Gen 5- Shark

Aspiration: Soulmate

Career: Paranormal Investigator 

Traits: Squeamish, Paranoid, Gloomy

Color Association: Blue

Skills: Medium, Writing, Pipe Organ

Story: After living with an erratic parent whose next move always disrupted your life, you become paranoid, withdrawn, and obsessed with everything macabre. You spend your young adult life hiding away from the world in your parents basement, only leaving to do some paranormal investigating. That is, until you meet a ghost who you fall in love with. Now it’s your goal to bring them back to life and live happily ever after. 

Woohoo with a ghost. 

Have a ghost in your household.

Bring your beloved ghost back to life. 

Live in your parents basement for the entirety of your young adult life. Move to Forgotten Hollow with 30,000 when you become an adult. 

Have a child or multiple. Have low parenting skills and constantly berate your kids. You are overbearing because the world scares you and you want them to understand how scary the world is. 

Your lot must have the Spooky lot trait. 

Become a vampire after your first child is born. 

Bite 10 different sims. Chomp chomp baby shark. 

Gen 6- Cat 

Aspiration: Super Parent

Career: Culinary

Traits: Jealous, Unflirty, Family-oriented 

Color Association: Orange

Skills: Parenting, Cooking, Fishing

Story: Having grown up with an overbearing and domineering parent you dedicate your life to being a better, kinder parent. If only you could meet the right person! It seems like no matter what you do love just doesn’t work out for you. Not giving up on your dreams of being the best parent, you decide to adopt a kid. Your first child is challenging and you make the mistake of treating them more like an equal and less like a child. You want them to strive for greatness so you are a little harder on them than the rest of your children. They are your legacy after all. You want them to be as successful as possible and sometimes that means tough love. When your first adopted child ages up into a child, adopt another child. And then maybe another. And another. A full house means a full heart, right?

Start your life with as much money as your parents have. Leave them with 5,000.

Date and break up with a new sim every week. 

Never marry. Extra points if you get engaged and break up the engagement. 

Adopt as many kids as you want, as long as you have a full household at all times (you can have cats and dogs if you don’t want too many kids but you need at least two adopted kids) 

The first child (your heir) should be treated differently. You see your first child as your ‘little helper.’ They don’t truly get a childhood like the other kids in the house. 

Teach your first child to have low empathy. With all this responsibility put on their shoulders they begin to care less and less about how others feel.  

Ground your first child every weekend and only ever have the first child do chores around the house. 

Bring your kids on fishing/camping trips to Granite Falls on the weekends. While there, spend more time with your other children and ignore the eldest child as much as possible.  

Eat fish for every meal. Cat’s love a good fish dinner. 

Complete the fish collection.

Gen 7- Octopus

Aspiration: Public Enemy 

Career: Doctor

Traits: Evil, Genius, Materialistic

Color Association: Purple

Skills: Fitness, Piano, Logic

Story: Living under your adoptive parents ruthless thumb has turned you into a cold and calculating young adult. Despite resenting them, you still crave their approval so you do what they always wanted, you go to university to become a doctor. You learn that playing the piano and working out help calm your frazzled nerves, which comes in handy when you start committing crimes against humanity. While you are particularly good at finding partners who want to marry you, they keep dying or disappearing under mysterious circumstances. While the outside world sees a successful, loving, family oriented sim, you have been harboring a dark secret. In your basement is a secret room where you keep your favorite spouse as a prisoner. They work day and night painting to help provide you with the life of luxury you always dreamed of. You just couldn’t bring yourself to kill this one, they are your favorite after all. 

When leaving your parents house take all their money. 

Befriend the grim reaper.

Outlive five spouses

Keep your favorite spouse in a secret room in the basement. Have the spouse paint and sell the paintings for profit. 

Cause 10 NPC deaths on your home lot via unnatural causes. (This is easier with the extreme violence mod but still doable in vanilla gameplay using the pool and fences….)

Keep urns and graves of spouses and npc’s on your lot in a ‘trophy room.’

Kill your parents and put their grave in the family graveyard. 

Have a child with your favorite spouse, make sure the child and your spouse do not interact while they are in the basement. The child should be led to believe the spouse either died or disappeared.

Dote on your child. They are the only person you truly care about. Give them all the love and attention they could possibly need. They are your pride and joy. Make sure you don’t kill anyone in front of your child. 

Throw a drink on at least ten different sims. Sometimes you just gotta ink on people! 

Only ever take baths, no showers allowed! Your octopus body needs to soak.

Gen 8- Raven

Aspiration: StrangerVille Mystery

Career: None/Odd Jobs

Traits: Good, Loner, Slob

Color Association: Black

Skills: Mixology, Juice fizzing, Programming

Story: After learning the horrors of your parents' dark secret you flee their house and move into a modest trailer on lot Slip 42 with the little funds, 15,000 simoleans, that you have. You cut off all contact from your family and start over in the dusty desert only to find out there are dark secrets even in this remote little town. You drown your sorrows in booze and even take up making your own brew at home. These don’t make you money though since you drink everything you make so you start learning programming as a side hustle. You try to ignore the strange behavior of the townsfolk but your curiosity gets the better of you. The reluctant hero, you begin your investigation into what is happening to your new home town. While fighting the evils that plague the town you fall in love with a certain military member. Even though they are on the wrong side of this fight, you can’t help but fall madly in love with them. Once the dust settles you also settle down. You put the past behind you and live the nuclear family dream by moving into a beautiful family home in Willow Creek and having 2 children. 

Start with 15,000

Never interact with your parents after leaving their home. If they are on the same lot as you, use only mean interactions. 

If you cannot afford an in-home bar, go to the local dive bar at least every other day to drown your sorrows. 

Make and drink all of the Juice fizzing drinks. 

Complete the Strangerville mystery while you’re a young adult. 

Marry someone who works in the military branch. They can be found around town (yes you can give them a makeover). 

When interacting with the Rosewells use mischievous or mean interactions only. You blame them for the town’s problem. 

Complete the metals collection because SHINY. YOU LIKE SHINY THING.

Gen 9- Red Fox

Aspiration: Eco Innovator

Career: Politician

Traits: Self-Assured, Foodie, Snob

Color Association: Red

Skills: Research & debate, Fabrication, Wellness

Story: Growing up in a loving and stable home taught you a valuable lesson; you can be the change you want to see in the world! You leave home for college and reside in one of the many apartments in Evergreen Harbor. After witnessing the absolute garbage fire that your new town is, you vow to go into politics and help the city at a higher level. This new politician lifestyle comes at a high cost though; you suffer from severe stress and anxiety. After some soul searching you decide to take up candle making and yoga to help relieve your stress. what is with men being mad any time a woman raises her voice where did that even come from. someone posted a video of a small electrical explosion, and the top comment was of course the woman screams. the second comment is women try not to scream challenge, level impossible. i had to go back and watch the video again. there is, somewhat fainty, a little gasp emitted off-camera, more of a yelp than a scream. it is mostly lost in the crack of the explosion. afterwards, you hear her voice, shaken, say, are you okay?

i am helping one of my friends train her voice pitch lower, because she wants to be taken seriously at work. she and i do each other's nails and talk about gender roles; and how - due to our appearance - neither of us have ever been able to be "hysterical" in public. we both appear young and sweet and feminine. she is cisgender, and cannot use her natural voice in her profession because people keep saying she appears to be "vapid". we both try to figure out if our purposeful voice lowering is technically sexist. is it promoting something when you are a victim to it?

a storm almost sends a pole through a car window. in the dashcam, you can hear the woman passenger say her partner's name twice, crying out in alarm. she sounds terrified. in the comments, she is lambasted for her lack of calm. how is that even fucking helping?

in high school, i taught myself to have a lower voice. i had been recorded when i was genuinely (and righteously) upset; and i hated how my voice sounded on the phone speakers when it was played back. i was defending my mom, and my voice cracked with emotion. it meant i was no longer winning the argument: i was just shrieking about it.

girls meet each other after a long summer and let out a little joyful scream. this usually stops around 12-14, because people will not tolerate this display of affection (as it has the effect of being passingly annoying). something about the fact that little girls can't ever even be annoying. we are trained to examine each part of our lives (even joy) for anything that could make us upsetting and disgusting. they act like teenage girls are breaking into houses and shrieking you awake at 3 in the morning. speaking as a public school educator: trust me, it's not that bad, you can just roll your eyes and move on. it does not compare to the ways boys end up being annoying: slurs in graffiti, purposefully mocking your body, following you after you said no. you know, just boy things.

there's another video of a man who is not allowed to yell in the house, so he snaps his fingers when he's excited about soccer. the comments are full of angry men, talking about how their brother is unfairly caged. let him express himself and this is terrible to do to someone. eventually the couple has to address it in a second video: they are married with a newborn baby. he was trying not to wake the infant up. there is no comment on the fact women are not allowed to yell indoors. or the fact that it could have been really alarming or triggering for his wife. sometimes i wonder if straight men even like women, if they even enjoy being in relationships with them.

for the longest time, i hated roller coasters because it always felt inappropriate and uncomfortable for me to scream. one of my friends called me on it, said it was unusual i'm so unwilling. i had to go to my therapist about it. i don't like to scream because i was not raised in a safe situation, and raising my voice would have brought unsafe attention towards me. even when i am supposed to scream, it feels shameful, guilty. i was not treated kindly, so i lack a basic form of self-protection. this is not a natural response. it is not good that in a situation of high adrenaline - i shut up about it.

something very bad is happening, i think. in between all the beauty standards and the stuff i've already discussed - this one feels new and cruel in a way i can't quite express. yes, it's scary and silencing. but there's something about how direct it is - that so many men agree with the sentiment that women should never yell, even in an emergency - it feels different.

is the word shriek gendered automatically? how about shrill or screech? in self defense class, one of the first things they tell you is to yell, as loud and as shrilly as you can. they say it will feel rude. most women will not do this. you need to practice overcoming the social pressure and just scream.

most women do not cry out, even when it's bad. we do not report it. we walk faster. we do not make a scene. what would be the point of doing anything else? no matter what we do, we don't get taken seriously. it is a joke to them. an instagram caption punchline. we have to present ourselves as silent, beautiful, captivating - "valuable."

a woman is outside watching her kids when someone throws a firecracker at them. she screams and runs towards her children. in the comments, grown men flock together in the thousands: god. women are so annoying.
