Working for a big company is sometimes great. And sometimes the low-level employee is blamed for an issue that is neither their responsibility nor actually a problem 🙃

RIP King
21st April 1918
Tumblr media
105 years ago was a dark day. Germanys most famous and successful fighter pilot Manfred von Richthofen didn't return from a mission. After some speculation it was finally confirmed that he had died a hero's death. Respected by his enemies, he was buried with full military honour.
He was an inspiration to many during his lifetime and long after even to this day. Many lessons can be learned by following his example. The symbol of a Prussian officer. He stood by his principles and did his duty even in times of decline. He remained faithful to the end.
RIP Manfred von Richthofen (1892 - 1918).

Trying to get into plant gathering is very discouraging. You´ll read chapter after chapter on how healthy a common plant is and how stupid you are for just walking by it instead of taking it and then the last sentence will be something along the lines of "not to be confused with the highly toxic Y, which is like X in everything except this miniscule detail".

Some graves from the cemetery in Leipzig. It always hits me hard to see the graves of brave men who lost their lives in war.

Some more impressions of my Saxony trip. Leipzig and Dresden are beautiful cities and the people incredibly friendly!
There is a lot to learn from the eastern states, I was painfully reminded of that the second I stepped out of the train at Munich Central Station. My Bavarian arrogance was really taken down a notch.

Today we remember Rudolf Berthold who was murdered 104 years ago.
Incomparable in his love for his country. His will and his infinite strength are an example for everyone.
RIP Rudi

Rudolf Berthold with his little dog. Incredible pilot who fought throughout the war despite many serious injuries (including an almost lame right arm). Was beaten to death by communists in 1920.

Make no mistake: “progress” is the lust for power and nothing besides, and we must unmask its method as a sick, destructive joke. Utilizing such pretexts ass “necessity,” “economic development,” and “culture,” the final goal of “progress” is nothing less than the destruction of life. This destructive urge takes many forms: progress is devastating forests, exterminating animal species, extinguishing native cultures, masking and distorting the pristine landscape with the varnish of industrialism, and debasing the organic life that still survives. It is the same for livestock as for the mere commodity, and the boundless lust for plunder will not rest until the last bird falls. To achieve this end, the whole weight of technology has been pressed into service, and at last we realize that technology has become by far the largest domain of the sciences.
