Hot on the heels of their current release, 2022’s Blue Rev, Canada’s Alvvays took to the road with their "Canadian" Spring Tour, which also included stops in Detroit, MI and Spokane, WA. The 22 song set (19 from the main show and 3 encore songs) was a showcase of both new and favourite tracks. It is definitely a show that will appeal to all their fans. "What the Hell"! Avril Lavigne came to Detroit and only played 8 songs? "Bite Me" is what I felt like saying when I found out that it was going to be a short set and those I talked with said "I'm With You" when I told them I was about to complain that I just want more. American singer / songwriter and former model Kacy Hill is currently on tour opening for Conan Gray and just played in front of a sold out show at the Huntington Bank Pavilion. A Fire Inside, better known as AFI has finally been able to tour and play the long awaited Chicago date of their Bodies Tour. After being postponed and rescheduled to 2022 from 2021, many fans have been anxiously waiting for this show! I, for one, was super excited the tour finally happened. When you are thinking about attending a Betty Who concert, you know that it will be a night filled with great music. But when you actually go see Betty live, it's more than just music. It's a full on entertainment experience. Almost every song is choreographed with her amazing back-up dancers (and even her guitar player for some songs). I keep hearing people talk about a new group of young singers who aren't afraid to discuss and promote female empowerment. At its core are four key artists: Billie Eilish, Tate McRae, Nessa Barrett and Jessie Murph. When I heard Jessie Murph was coming to The Pike Room in Pontiac, I knew that was a show I wanted to see. There is often a hype behind emerging artists, which isn't always deserved, so I was excited to see which was true here. I'm happy to say, in my opinion Jessie deserves all the praises I've been hearing about her, and more. Winsconsin's Disq was on full display as they recently opened for Alvvays as part of their "Canadian Spring Tour", which also included stops in Detroit, MI and Spokane, WA. Originally formed by long time friends Raina Bock (bass guitar, vocals) and Isaac DeBroux-Stone (lead guitar, vocals), Disq has expanded to include Logan Severson (guitar, vocals), Shannon Conor (guitar, vocals), and Brendan Manley (drums). Skillet closed out the opening night of the Rock Resurrection Tour which they are co-headling with Theory of a Deadman. Most people know, I LOVE seeing Skillet perform! They do more than just play music, they give you a full blown show. No matter if you only know one song or every song, you will have so much fun seeing them!
