what's up. i'm kade. 18, he/him. this is a weird spinoff of my main pkmn irl blog, @cherrytree-irl (which used to be called wanderer-sylvan until just now when i changed it so i could call this one that. so if you were confused about that... there's the answer.) i also run @rover-on-rotomblr and @rotomblr-island.
profile picture is from pokemon go, header is from pokemon dppt.
mild in-character anon hate is okay as long as you make it clear that it's in-character. however, you are not permitted to misgender or deadname any of my muses. additionally, i'm not interested in high-stakes roleplay.
this blog takes place in a seperate universe from my other blogs. within this universe, pokemon white ended very, very recently. no games past that have happened. also, the older sylvan on my main can see this blog, but younger sylvan can't see my main.

Chest 1: Eltibald derived his prophecies not only from his observations of celestial bodies, but also from inscriptions found on sepulchers and menhirs of the Wozgor and Dauk peoples – human cultures considered among the Continent's most ancient and mysterious. Ultimately, he came to discover the Crimson Curse after examining sacrificial stone slabs of the Svalblod cult in Skellige. According to the isles' inhabitants, the cruel, deity-like being had already been vanquished once and for all. Alas, they could not have been further from the truth...
Chest 2: Of course, intelligent monsters had known of the Crimson Curse far earlier than humans. Higher vampires, knockers, sylvans... All sensed the red moon's approach—and all awaited it with eager anticipation. For they knew such an opportunity to settle their grudges against humankind may never again present itself.

Scroll 1: Since the dawn of time, people have peered with curious eyes into the night sky. Among the stars, they've sought signs from the gods, even prophecies of the future. For some, it has worked—though often at the price of losing their minds.
Scroll 2: One such clairvoyant was a mage by the name of Eltibald, who foretold the impending arrival of the Black Sun. His next work was meant to herald an even graver misfortune... Alas, he passed away before the manuscript could be completed.

Oh Deer, That Seems Like Trouble
"Now that is a big deer," Tora was dumbfounded by the size of the thing. It wasn't the hugest creature they'd seen on The Merchant's quest, but still, it was a deer! They weren't supposed to get that large. She was only eyeballing, but she doubted the top of her head would come to its shoulder. Maybe Manus would, but it'd be a close thing.
"I'm not so worried about the size as I am about what's going on with its antlers. Runes on animals aren't usually a good thing, and them glowing like that seems even worse," It was Manus who spoke, the big man himself. "Still, I'd wager a rune-powered deer is better than something like a rune-powered dragon," He mused with a glance at Tora. "Brawling with it should feel better than punching scales."
Tora didn't exactly feel like getting close to the giant deer. Doing so would require that she avoid getting gored in the attempt, and without armor, she didn't like her odds. And why was he suggesting that she go up and deal with it? He was the one wearing armor!
"Ya know, I think I'll sit this one out. Besides, aren't you supposed to go hunting with a weapon? Manus, you're better equipped to handle it no matter how you slice it,"
She had a point. Manus looked at the deer and then glanced down at his armor. Usually, it would've kept him safe, but he was still wary of those antlers. If those things were magical, as he assumed, there was no guarantee they wouldn't punch through his armor like so much parchment.
"Do we have to fight it? We could wake Torin up and have him speak to it." It was Leetha who spoke. She'd been watching the deer while Manus and Tora talked, and it hadn't moved against them. Oddly enough, it had been turning its head from one speaker to the next like it was following along with the conversation. Torin was still leaning up against a pine tree, fast asleep. He had taken the night watch, so they'd let him sleep while they packed up. They hadn't noticed their woodland onlooker until they'd finished.
"Yeah, I like that idea much better," Tora hurriedly backed up and went over to shake Torin awake. "Wake up, sleepy. We've got a big furry friend for you to meet."
Torin woke up a bit sluggishly. He'd been sleeping for about six hours. Not a healthy amount of sleep, but enough to function off of for a day. He grumbled and rubbed his eyes before opening them. He slowly registered it was Tora who'd woke him up.
"Time move?" He asked sleepily.
"Kinda," Tora answered, making the matching hand gesture. She was proud of herself for getting used to Torin's broken Common. Torin got to his feet, muttering something in Elvish while patting off what dirt he could. Tora gestured toward the deer and shrugged. "We could use your critter skills."
Torin's bravery regarding forest creatures proved to be invaluable. He stepped past Manus with a touch to his shoulder and approached the deer with his arms out and palms turned upward. It was watching him but still hadn't moved aside from that. He got within spitting distance before speaking to it in Sylvan, letting it know they meant no harm. The deer's ears twitched in acknowledgment and turned so its side was toward them. It dug at the soft earth with its hoof. Tora could barely make out the confused expression on Torin's face.
"What'd it say, buddy?" It came out with a bit more concern than she'd intended.
Torin turned his head to look at them and shrugged. "Follow."

Feathery feelers twitch, red eyes shining as he spies someone coming closer to the cage. The Sylvan moves away, backing against the far side of the cage. He doesn't know if it's one of the people who put him here, or someone else. His head is still fuzzy from being attacked so his powers don't afford him any insight, just a burning pain behind his eyes.
"Who's there?" he whispers, wide red eyes still staring vigilantly out at his surroundings.

the garden is flourishing bright and bold this time of year. the press of summer on either side is unrelenting, bringing the flowers into their biggest bloom yet. adonia is alone -- or at least he think he is, until there is a giggle and the splashing of someone in the fountains.
the stamping of little feet is what greets him when he investigates, and the water splashes up when the head of a faerie dragon picks up and shakes the water from the golden horns on its head.
vyzzarioth laughs, flicking his tail back and forth before he clambers up onto the edge of the fountain and flattens out to warm up.
" hello, my liege. " the voice echoes up telepathically, rhythmic sylvan coming musically from him. " have you come to play? the queen has been too busy to do so! "
