haunted that lestat is like 21 yrs old leading a society. the other vampires should’ve iced his ass years ago on basic principle. well… i guess they tried several times but like a roach he persevered. Would chaos in what they want to do ensue? I can certainly imagine Eclipse going medieval and making a village his slaves and Silver trying to protect them and it conflicts hilariously XD.

Callie sipped her coffee, enjoying the quiet. Normally a silence like this would have been unnerving--what with two boys in the house, one of whom is more gremlin than anything--but today it was welcome.

She sat at the kitchen table, lazily scrolling through her phone. The two boys in question were in the living room, playing their new Switch game together. The occasional soft comment came to her ears as they chatted together, but other than that, they'd been mostly quiet like that for over an hour.

It was time for Murphy's Law to take effect.

"This is boring." Eclipse's tone was annoyed, and came as close to a whine as he was capable. "Let's go back into that cave."

"No, there are spiders and zombies in there and I want to keep working on my farm."

"Your farm is fine! Let the villagers take care of it."

"I like taking care of it myself." Silver, bless his heart, was still calm and controlled. His brother had a talent for getting him upset, but today it didn't seem like Silver was taking the bait. "Look at all the crops! I need them to feed my animals."

"You don't have to feed all your stupid animals, they're not really gonna die, you know."

"Go by yourself. You don't need me with you."

"You're better at marking the path so we don't get lost."

"Too bad. Maybe you should learn to do it yourself."

Eclipse uttered an annoyed grunt, and Callie could picture him gritting his sharp teeth. "Just leave your stupid farm and your stupid animals and come with me!"

"No!"

Callie sighed, and wondered if she should get involved. Maddie had told her that it was important for siblings to figure out problems on their own, to find their own dynamic and deal with issues. She supposed that made sense, and she tried to let her boys figure it out, but she was also a big supporter of things like quiet and not having her house destroyed.

Two things that were in woeful short supply with two super powered alien children.

But, since Maddie had a sister and three super powered alien children, Callie supposed she knew what she was talking about. So she monitored the situation from her seat in the kitchen.

"What are you doing?" Silver asked, and his voice hovered in that space between calm and upset. "It's getting dark, we need to go in and sleep."

"No."

"C'mon, Eclipse. If you stay out after dark the mobs will come out."

"I don't care. I wanna fight something."

"You've only got a wooden axe!"

"Then maybe we should have gone into that cave to find iron!"

"We didn't need to find iron!" Silver's voice was going higher, and indication he was getting more upset. "We were working on our farm!"

"I don't want to work on the farm anymore! I want to fight monsters!"

"LOOK OUT!"

The familiar hiss of a creeper preceded an explosion, which was followed by the loud shriek of a gray hedgehog.

"MY FARM!"

"Whoops."

"YOU DID THAT ON PURPOSE!"

"MAYBE NOW YOU'LL GO INTO THE CAVE WITH ME!"

The next sound was a loud thud as two little bodies hit the floor, accompanied by growls and arguing.

Callie gave a little sigh, before putting down her coffee cup, and heading into the living room to referee.

I USED to be bitter that Phineas and Ferb didn't defeat Thanos themselves in Endgame, but there are so many implications to consider if u choose to call pnf canon in the mcu.

For example:

Tony isn't the first person to invent time travel: some dude from the 1800s (I think) started it, and Phineas and Ferb finished it. AND if you consider Milo Murphy's Law, then, legally, Heinz Doofenschmirtz is the first to invent it.

The moon AND Mars have breathable atmospheres. Since Moon Farm, the moon has an atmosphere and really good ice cream. (Think about that while making y'all's "Steve is on the moon" posts)

There should have been a hot minute where most of the world was pharmacist zombies, because they only fixed Danville. (That would have put a damper on SHIELD business until it rained.)

Goose would probably be an OWCA agent, tell me I'm wrong. (Have OWCA and SHIELD ever collaborated other than Mission Marvel...I'm curious now)

We watching Sunshine (2007) and, BRUH, this film has no business being as good as it is.

Like, it’s literally a B-grade space movie about blowing up the sun but there’s this really interesting theme around the dynamic between technology, religion, and the sun itself.

It’s about cabin fever, Murphy’s law, the human condition. From the very beginning of the film you’re shown that the sun is something incomprehensible. That the human body (and mind) cannot withstand the full power of the sun. The entire film is set behind this big ass shield and anything that passes beyond the shadow of the shield is immediately incinerated. Half the crew is slowly going stir-crazy, they’re just passing the point of no return, and they’ve gone into this mission knowing that the first one failed.

Several characters have this obsession with the sun. Some more far-gone than the others. If you take note of the deaths, it’s the people who have this connection to the sun that end up burning. The people who put the mission first, and the people who have no fear of God, or dying. Death by burning is presented as becoming one with stardust and continuing the life-cycle of the universe Meanwhile the more close minded/self interested people end up freezing. Alone in obscurity.

And then you have these characters who are concerned more directly with the life in front of them, whether it’s the loss of a crew member or the life in the oxygen farm. These character deaths are directly human caused. The represent the fragility of life on the human scale, and how one human can easily take the life from something. (And also contrasting the idea of their mission. Where instead of taking life so easily, these humans have to struggle so hard to re-ignite the sun).

A character finds a tiny sign of life within the burn remains of the farm, but before she can tell anyone, she’s tragically murdered. And the whole thing is symbolic of the end of the film. Their mission will give another chance back on earth, but because they can’t return, no one will ever know their story. And in return, the crew members will never know if their mission ever succeed.

THIS IS ALSO NOT MENTIONING THE SCIENCE THEORY AND PRACTICAL EFFECTS BEHIND THIS FILM. Everything about the ship is so well thought out and the movie makes and effort to show you all the important locations naturally before their final scenes so you get this really good set up and pay-off. The design of the ship is practical and iconic. They make a lot of the rooms really distinct (especially the farms and the payload). AND THEN THEY BLOW IT ALL UP. Like we’re talking real fire, and real explosions on REAL SETS. (In a world where cgi is overused it’s a really nice contrast).

#4: Field of Screams

I'm not sure what it was about this episode, but there's something that just made it feel like a top tier episode to me.

Maybe it was that the whole episode took place on a farm. Farms tend to be simple places with simple tasks -- just a lot of them. Maybe it's because it was nice to have a standalone season 2 episode -- nobody we'd ever seen before except our protagonists, their parents, and Cav and Dak's boss.

Maybe it's because there was no Doofenshmirtz. His MML appearances range from "actually contributes something to the story" (i.e. Abducting Murphy's Law and Spy Little Sister!) to "just an annoyance" (i.e. Pace Makes Waste and Doof's Day Out) to "just turning Milo Murphy's Law into Phineas and Ferb" (i.e. The Dog Who Knew Too Much and Agee Ientee Diogee). But in this one, he was not present at all.

Maybe it was the song. Yes, I remember listening to the one hour loop posted by Jonathan of The 2nd Dimension. And to be honest? I had never thought about it before, but I see why he likes it so much! Sure, the lyrics are nonsense without the visuals, but it's still a great song that way. And the chase scene only makes it more entertaining.

Maybe it was the whole alien storyline. I like how ridiculous it was that the farmer would only let aliens on his property, so then Cavendish and Dakota actually dressed up as aliens (because they just happened to have alien costumes in the van) and... then just snuck onto the property anyway. I suppose the whole alien chase scene was mostly just Milo Murphy's Law -- i.e. anything that can go ridiculous chain reaction, will go ridiculous chain reaction.

Or maybe it's just because of the overall positive vibe in this episode. Sure, the barn blew up with milk, and they got covered in hay, and Zack got turned into a scarecrow. But at the end of the day, like Zack said, none of that really mattered because they finished the chores.

Whatever the case, I loved this episode. I hope to see more like it in season 3.

The 33 YEAR OLD was fleeing from EUREKA SPRINGS, ARKANSAS when they came across Novac, and have sought salvation within the motel of purgatory. IRIS has been in town for FIVE MONTHS and has been assigned as an ANIMAL HANDLER to keep society running smoothly. no matter what, they will find something to fight for. ⸻ beth, she/her, 25, est.

Iris Adler, formly known as Iris Campbell, was born to a traveling nurse. She spent her years moving from school to school; on one hand Iris enjoyed the thrill of getting to know a new area, but it was outweighed by the despair of not being able to have close friends. It only made sense that she got used to being in her own company, and enjoy the peace that came with it. This continued until she was twenty, when she finally found the courage to truly move out on her own. Iris returned to a mountain town her and her mother had once visited, Eureka Springs. As a child the place seemed almost fantastical to her; between the rolling hills that would change to a myriad of colors throughout the year, and the town pulled straight from a Hallmark movie, Iris was not left wanting more. 

Iris worked at a quaint little flower shop, had a place of her own not far from town, but far enough away she had privacy, and even had a favorite coffee shop she went to daily for scones and tea. She had been content to live alone here, in fact preferred to be surrounded by the serene nature rather than the other townspeople. There was little desire in her to get married or delve into a serious relationship, due to this it was only more shocking when she did the exact opposite. A man, born and raised in Eureka Springs, came into the flower shop monthly to get violets for his mom, or so he claimed. Once he began to come in much more frequently Iris became skeptical. Finally, around the time she was starting to wonder if she should be concerned, the man divulged that he didn’t find the flowers fascinating(shocker), but rather her instead. With the apples of his cheeks bright pink, he asked Iris on a date. Three years later, his cheeks again flushed with anxiety, he asked to make her a wife.

He and Iris moved in with his ailing mother, who lived on a small ranch with two horses and a German Shepard named Hancock. It was a pleasant life, one that Iris had never seen herself living, but it came to a halt when her husband was being forced to transfer to Canon Air Force Base in New Mexico. Iris argued that wherever he went she would follow, and she fully intended to until he reminded her of more important responsibilities. His mother could not make that move, and someone needed to watch the ranch as he still wished to settle there one day. So he went, and she stayed. Things only continued to go downhill, his mother finally succumbed to her illness a few months later. The ranch became cold after that, it had an eerie emptiness to it. Then Cordyceps happened.

Iris waited, convinced that if she were to leave her husband would come– Murphy's law, and all that. She waited, and waited, and waited, until she could not do so any longer. Filling a bag with essentials she saddled her husband's mare, Shika, and tentatively set out towards New Mexico with Hancock in tow.

Novac:

Iris arrived in Novac five months ago after running into a group of scouts on their patrol. She had always made a point to stay away from groups of living people, just as much as the dead. However, she was dangerously low on supplies and Hancock and Shika were beginning to rapidly lose weight. Iris was desperate and she took a chance with the group that luckily paid off. Iris now helps wrangle the farm animals at Novac and tend to them, her years living on the ranch coming in handy with her new job. She is still learning to trust the people of Novac, but so far they have not given her a reason to be overly weary.

In the town of Gatton, west of Brisbane and the capital of what was known then as the Colony of Queensland in Australia, the Murphy family owned a farm at Blackfellow’s Creek. 

Michael and his brother Daniel Murphy had both left Gatton, Michael working on a government farm near Westbrook and Daniel was a police constable in Brisbane. 

On December 26, 1898, Michael, who had come home for the holidays had taken his sister Ellen to the Mount Sylvia Races in nearby Caffey. At 8pm, Michael, Ellen and their other sister, Norah, left home to go to a dance that was at the Gatton Hall. When they arrived at the dance at 9pm, they found out it had been cancelled and decided to return home. They never made it back. 

Early the next morning, December 27, 1898, Mrs. Murphy asked her son in law, William M’Neill to look for Michael, Ellen and Norah in Gatton. Michael had actually borrowed William’s sulky (a light weight two wheeled cart horses are hitched to) and William noticed his sulky’s tracks turning off the road through a slip rail. William followed the tracks over a km before he found the bodies of his relatives.

All three of the siblings bodies were found in a field 1.2 miles from Gatton. Michael and Ellen were lying back to back within 2 feet of each other. Norah was laying on a neatly spread rug, 28 feet to the east. Both Ellen and Norah had their hands tied behind their backs with handkerchiefs. 

The sulky faced south, and had formed a triangle between Michael and Norah. William’s horse had been shot in the head. The siblings legs were arranged with their feet pointing west. 

William went to the Brian Boru Hotel in Gatton and told the patrons of the murder, which resulted in around 40 people rushing to the murder scene, which could destroy evidence. 

William was later criticized for not going directly to the police but testified that he had asked where he could find the police sergeant at the hotel. William did contact the Acting-Sergeant William Arrell, who arranged for police from Brisbane to come to the scene. However, further delays led to officers not arriving until 48 hours after the bodies had been discovered.

Daniel, the brother of the victims who was a police officer got a telegram from a family friend on December 27, informing him of the murders. Daniel got a three day leave but failed to catch the 1pm train to Gatton. When returning to the headquarters, Daniel discovered that no action had been taken as there was rumours that the murders were a hoax. 

At 4pm on December 28, it was confirmed the murders were not a hoax, but the Commissioner of Police was not informed until 5 hours later because the info did not come through official channels. 

The bodies had been moved to the hotel. An autopsy was conducted by Dr. Von Lossberg. It was determined that Michael had been shot and struck with a blut instrument on the right side of his head. Ellen had her skull fractured by two blows to the left side of her head. It was also determined that Michael and Ellen were sitting upright and back to back when struck. 

Norah had been struck on the left side of her head, her brain was actually protruding out from the skull. Norah had a harness strap tied around her neck, which was so tight it could have caused her death. Both Ellen and Norah had been raped, and semen was found on their clothes. It appeared they both had been raped with the brass mounted handle of a whip, the whip was never found. 

William, the brother in law who had found the bodies, testified that Michael’s hands were not tied when he first saw the body, but it did appear that his hands had been tied behind his back at some point, with one holding an open purse. 

All other witnesses stated that Michael’s hands were not tied, but that a breeching strap lay nearby, and an empty purse was lying a short distance from the body. 

When Michael’s body was removed from the scene around 1:30pm, he was found to have the breeching strap between his untied hands, with the empty purse in one hand. The purse was known to have about 15 shillings in it (about $100 in 2010), the night before, so it was speculated that someone may have untied Michael’s hands to get to the purse. 

Witnesses and police determined Michael to have been shot in the head, but Von Lossberg did not find this, despite claims that he had been asked to look for a bullet. The bodies had been exhumed, and it was found that the original autopsies were no more than an examination from Von Lossberg. 

Decomposition was advanced but it was found that Michael had indeed been shot in the right side of his head and then struck on the same spot with a blunt instrument. This would have partially obscured the bullet hole, but the bullet was recovered from his skull. 

Sub-Inspector Percy Galbraith testified that Von Lossberg told him he had completed the autopsies and said he found what looked like a bullet hole with no exit wound but couldn’t find the bullet in the skull. 

Von Lossberg testified that he told Galbraith he had not performed an autopsy because he was suffering from blood poisoning and did not want the bodies to be buried. 

William, the brother in law had contacted Sergeant Arrell at 9:15am on December 27. They both went to the murder scene and were there for 30 minutes; in this time, Arrell had not taken any notes, did not interview anyone present, and made no effort to protect the site from people destroying the crime scene. 

Arrell requested an urgent telegram be sent, but was told the police had no authority to send urgent telegrams; however this was not true and Arrell was later criticized for not knowing he had that authority. 

An investigation went on for 5 months, but no one was charged with the murders. There were rumours of cover-ups and incest in the Murphy family but they were only rumours and never were proven. 

A man named Theo Farmer, also known as Thomas Day and Thomas Furner, was the prime suspect for the Gatton murders. Thomas was employed as a butcher in Gatton and lived in a hut around 900 feet from the murder scene. He had been witnessed walking along the road on previous nights where the Murphy siblings had disappeared. 

A witness claimed to have seen Thomas washing blood from a pullover a few days later. There was also evidence against him that he had been involved in the killing of a man named Alfred Stephen Hill in nearby Oxley, a few weeks before the Gatton murders. The same revolver had been used in both crimes. 

In 1906, a revolver with the same number as the shots spent in the Oxley and Gatton murders was found near the butchery where Thomas worked. Thomas enlisted in the army shortly after being questioned but left in May 1899.

In 1900, he was admitted to the Sydney Hospital in New South Wales under his alias name, Thomas Furner, suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He died on October 25, 1900, though his death was withheld from public knowledge by the police and governments until 1918.

Daughter of the Deep HPA Crossover

What if various Disney children/ characters went to Harding Pencroft Academy? It's like a Hogwarts Au for HPA? What house would they be in? What would their dynamics with other character be like? Would their stories change from having this different experience and background?

Following this I would like to present to you: The ___ Society (I'm waffling between 'Horizon' and 'Axolotl' or possibly something else)

Dipper and Mabel Pines, following the remarkable events of their summer in Gravity Falls, found a club once they arrive at HPA.

Dipper, a cephalopod, and Mabel, an orca, soon find others that relate to (or will soon relate to) their remarkable adventures.

They could become the fun upper classmen who the others can go to for advice. Some impossible happenings on? Congrats you have the king and queen of impossible in your corner!

My most solid roster for The Society is...

Marco (and later Star) from Star vs The Forces of Evil, who are both sharks

Anne, Sasha, and Marcy from Amphibia who are orca, shark, and cephalopod respectively

And Luz (and later Vee), who are a dolphin and orca

Other ideas I had:

Hailey and Scott from Hailey's On It as a cephalopod and dolphin respectively but we don't know much about them yet

Milo, Melissa, and Zack from Milo Murphy's Law as a cephalopod, dolphin, and orca respectively

Luz as a pirate after the events of season 1? Marcy building submarines so that amphibian kind can explore the depths of the ocean for the first time (you know... salt water and all)? Star developing many nautical based spells and overall becoming more tactically minded and disciplined after essentially military training? Anne absolutely hating scrubbing the frog tank before the music box incident and overall having a better sense for farm care?

Javier Peña Timeline In Real Life

So many people have written fiction for Javier Peña that I thought this might be useful. Wikipedia has incorrect information as does the Narcos Wiki. That isn't said as arrogance, I just believe that Peña is a better authority on where he was born, raised and went to school.

Bogotá, Colombia’s capital, is in a large valley in the mountains.   Medellin is about 250 miles (415 km) northwest of it.   Manhunters says it’s a one-hour flight.  Google Maps says about 9 hours by car.
