COOL PHINEAS AND FERB FACT!:

Based on his size (about 2 ft/61 cm tall according to the Phineas And Ferb Wiki), it’s safe to assume that Perry the Platypus is a Tasmanian Platypus and his ancestors would be from Tasmania where Platypuses are (24.8in/63cm max) about 3x the size of the ones on the Australian mainland.

However, Perry is measured by the Wiki standing upright on his hind legs while Platypuses are typically measured from tail to bill so….

TIME FOR SOME MATH🥲

Of course this is all assuming Perry being 1/3 Doof’s size while Doof is 6 ft tall and Perry is 24.8 inches (2ft) standing upright.

Unfortunately no Platypus hind leg measurements a regularly available so I will be comparing body sizes only (No bills, tails, or legs). Platypus tails being 5 inch max, bill around 2.4 inch max.

So, measuring only the body this leaves the max platypus with 17.4 inches of body. Removing Perry’s approximate leg height (1.5 in) this leaves Perry with 23.27 inches.

Given the body to body proportions this means that Perry is about 1.3x (5.87 inches) larger than the max platypus size!

Keep in mind that, despite how much Heinz hates his brother, Roger has done some genuinely amazing things.

For example, when Heinz says "Just look at all that urban blight, that... that isn't there anymore, and the public transportation all... clean and... efficient and..."

Or when Roger was named the Best Danville Mayor Ever for the second year in a row, despite only being mayor for one year.

Or when he left Heinz's place saying that if he wasn't there to plan their mom's birthday then he had other important things to do.

And let's not forget when Roger spent 20 years restoring his brother's masterpiece.

Even some of the moments when he seems to be a d*ck are just him being oblivious to what his brother wants, like when he took a day off to play golf with Heinz, or when he freed Perry from his picture frame trap.

Even when they were kids, Roger probably didn't realize the effect his polite nature, his skill at kickball, his willingness to jump from the high dive into the Public Wetness Maker, and other aspects that I can't remember were having on his older brother.

Really, the only times I can think of where Roger truly did something remotely evil were when he accepted his mother's gift of a teddy bear (though that was mostly on her) and subsequently wrote his name on both the toy and their mother, and when he decided to not be "the guy in charge" for a day so that Heinz could take the blame for Khaka Peu Peu's actions.

Society needs to stop projecting onto optimistic characters

I can't BELIEVE I even have to SIT HERE, AT THIS TABLE CUTTING INTO MY VERY GOOD ICE CREAM HOURS, JUST TO TALK SOME SENSE INTO ALL OF YOU GUYS

Because I SWEAR TO GOD you all should KNOW BETTER by NOW, but apparently you don't so now here we are

@mysteriesofmilo made a good response to my earlier post about Milo Murphy's law and how much of the criticism towards the show, the little circle that does exist, are people complaining about Milo, THE LITERAL *CHILD*, not having constant anxiety and mental breakdowns about the massive wave of destruction that is out of his control that follows him around. Because according to YOU GUYS god forbid the 13 year old child be calm and collected in a horrible situation and actually tries to see the good in this shitty situation he has been dealing with since birth. God forbid the 13 year old child sees the fun adventure of it all instead of going MENTAL according to ALL OF YOU.

And this is a HUGE problem not just with how some people view this show but with how all optimistic and calm characters are viewed as nowadays by people. The fact that seeing a child who, despite having his moments at times, being a reasonably optimistic and calm person in a horrible situation out of their control is viewed as an "unsympathetic" "selfish" "and borderline sociopathic and psychopathic" person is a very VERY HORRIBLE thing and I SHAME people for that. Because that is not valid criticism, that is projecting your feelings onto it and hating it because of that.

And don't think I'm just the cheeto covered ipad kid typing away here, I'm a psych student, I know some things about this and now I'm here to tell you, yeah YOU right there reading this through the screen, yeah you need to revaluate your life choices if you are projecting your problems onto a cartoon CHILD of all things, or any optimistic character for that matter, you have some personal things you gotta work out. Just because they are in a shitty situation doesn't mean they have to be anxiety ridden and miserable, just because situations are happening that are out of their control doesn't mean they need to have constant mental breakdowns, and just because they aren't anxiety ridden or breaking bit by bit doesn't mean they don't deserve to be upset when they do finally get upset about it. Don't we always tell people to not blame themselves for situations out of their control? And yet when a character displays that in a very healthy way we get upset. Why is that? It's horrible, no one wants to address it either which makes it worse.

It GRINDS MY INNER GEARS that as a society we have devolved so much that when we see a child in a horrible situation actually trying to be calm and optimistic we view that AS A BAD THING. Do you realize- come here do you REALIZE how HORRIBLE that sounds?? And we are doing it constantly. Calling them selfish? Unsympathetic? And everything else under the sun just because they are happy when you can't be? Oh give me break, that's not valid criticism in this kind of situation, that's projection. Because the only selfish, unsympathetic people I see are you all that do this and it needs to genuinely stop. Because if that's how you view realistically optimistic and calm children in a TV show where it's incredibly well done and treated, then god forbid how you react to children IN REAL LIFE that act THE SAME EXACT WAY in these situations.

And no, it's not me being upset about a cartoon character's treatment, I'm UPSET because it shows how much we need to do BETTER and be better as people as this problem has been going on for years and honestly, people need to find a way to step back and revaluate themselves before the character projection becomes irl projection later on.
