I converted @murfeelee's William Morris Wall Hangings some time back, so when I wanted to take the Hogwarts Legacy tapestries and stick them into the game, they were the perfect base to do so. However, I have a greater ability to play with textures and meshes now, so I tweaked both to make thing a little more Sims 4 friendly.

Omg y'all, this month has been A MONTH. 🤦‍♀️ How many planets were in retrograde again? 💀😱💀😱💀😱💀 Fortunately, fall break is coming up pretty soon, so I'll FINALLY have a break from the hellish experience known as school. I haven't simmed in absolute ages, but I knew this would happen, so I made my Simblreen set way in advance. I have so much catching up I'll have to do, but I can't wait to actually have time to sim with y'all again!

Setting Up Audre 2.3

Still at the Franklin Market lot on 3 Main Street, but this time to share pictures of my second build/reno in The Center of @one-plumbob’s beautiful world Pleasant Isle, which will be called Audre in my save. 

As was the case with The Village Bakery, we’re in the blue building at the far right.

This time, however, we’ll be taking a look at the first floor shop which I’ve named Sunflower Fresh Market.

I came up with the name when I realized I had a bunch of unused cc with sunflowers on them (like the welcome mat for example). After placing some of those objects throughout the shop I thought “why not include “sunflower” in the name as well”.  

Through the front entrance we have a small grocery store. Here’s what it looks like from just beyond the door:

Sunflower Fresh Market will sell the bulk of my food items. That’s everything but meat, cheese, fish, and quick meals and snack items aside maybe yogurt and cereal.

A little further in, and we can see I’ve again used that wall art by @murfeelee​ designed to look like barn doors (I used it originally in Conquer’s vacation home). One of the pattern options had this giant split sunflowers, and piece just so happen to go with that wood wall pattern I’d selected for the bulk goods section of the store. 

You may have noticed that like The Village Bakery, there are empty shelves. Once I’ve route tested, I will have a sim purchase the food items from the store, then I will stock the inventory and the shelves.

Here are some shots from the bulk foods section of the grocery counter/employee station.

I wanted this shop to look like perhaps it had history in the town. Like maybe the family that owns it have always been grocers, and though the place has been renovated, a couple of items from the original shop decorate the shelf area near the register and the store in general.

Finally, here’s a shot of the front counter from another angle, as well as a shot of the store from behind the register.

I meant to mention this awhile back, but one of the things I have to change about this world in general, is the amount of plants and trees. Many of the buildings have these elaborate bush and flower combos that look beautiful, but I’m thinking they’re responsible for the lag. I’ve already removed trees that were bleeding through some of the buildings original set up more for deco than functionality, but much more is needed.

I am finally setting up my Dragon Realm. I have adjusted several dragons to be able to put in the "neighborhood" (not on lots) as they were too big for my lot.

The other day I mentioned that I had renovated a city park because my Sim parents were all in a twist about nothing for them to do with their cookie-crunchers. Here it as - as EA created it. For some strange reason they called it Marina Field, even though it’s not near any water. Go figure. As you can see, they put a lot of thought into making it. 

And here’s my new, improved version! Now the kids have more playground equipment to break their pixelated necks on - that’s an “actual” sandbox instead of their pretend one. There are horseshoe courts at the far end and a beehive - it’s that hollowed-out tree - that game that came with the base-game, some vending machines, and a new fountain to honor the war dead. Oh! And a bus stop. And I think it took all of 15 minutes. I also added some spawners, since there were none. And more flowers - because I like flowers.  

Then I decided to work on the new city cemetery. It’s up by the old one - just across the street. But since I plan on using the original spot for a cross-country riding lot for my equestrian Sims, I am building this one. Since I didn’t want to just start from scratch - because I’m lazy! - I plunked down Flora’s Taito lot from over on MTS. Her’s is on a 30x30 space, and this lot is 50x50. So, lots of room to plant more dead Sims! Those 2 objects in the front right of the picture are some CC from @murfeelee​. So, thank you, to her! The one is a conversion of the wishing well that came with that one desert town EA sold for a gazillion dollars. I think the other one acts as a radio - which is good for my ghosts. Gives them something to listen to at night. 

I’ve added a lot more graves and have a few more to make. Plus, I have to do all the landscaping - which I’ve only started on. Those white boxes and some of the other deco items are things that I use to make the individual graves. I’m way too lazy to scroll through the catalog each time I build a grave, so I just placed a bunch of what I figured I would need on the lot and will delete what I don’t use. Flora’s original lot didn’t have any actual ghosts, so I’ve been collecting some that I had from other towns. I made two Asian families that I killed off for my Cape Garner cemetery, who now reside here. Plus, I plan on making some more, who are related to local, living Sims. Anyway, this is supposed to be a modern, Asian city - sorry to any players out there who actually live in Asian countries for any mistakes I’ve made - which is why you see the Asian CC. Anyway, I’ll show you how it looks after I finish it. I did add a small water feature up in that one end - just so my fishing Sims can fulfill that want to go fishing in a graveyard at the crack of dawn and catch some of those Death fishes.

A great cc find!

Some of you might know about the 2012/13 MTS thread about Zelda's Titanic. For the ones who don't, it was a huge project by Zelda101, that included various cool cc pieces but none better (and harder to replace) than BloomsBase's Ist class Grand Staircase dome, pictured here:

Sadly, the links on MTS are dead and BloomsBase has been inactive since the mid 2010s and his page too, so tracking this dome was almost impossible, until like 4 minutes ago!

I found a SimsFileShare file created by the one and only @murfeelee , who posted the link to download the dome back in a 2017 MTS thread!

It took me AGES to find it so I thought resharing the link woud be appreciated, specially amongst edwardian era enthusiasts like me!

Of course, special thanks to @murfeelee for making my year with this link (that I can't believe I found just now ☠)

Posepack Fairytale

These are some specific fairytale-scenes I posed this year and last. They didn't make it into themed sets, but might still be useful.

The cutting pose has a variation I added to make it more versatile, for cutting anything on a table, not necessarily someone's corset-laces.

Staff: Shokoninio (currently only the Mediafire S3pack link is still working)

Scissors: Murfeelee, included here.

Fruit: Orange by Aroundthesims; 75% resized. I hid the half fruit behind the main one.

Once upon a time, I decided to make Hogwarts.

Badly.

It's not much like actual Hogwarts, but I had a lot of fun putting together designs for all the different classrooms, offices and quarters for the professors, common rooms and dormitories, and various other rooms. I set it as a library lot. Unfortunately, it was perhaps a bit over full, and didn't play very well. I did have a lot of fun building it though!

Part of building it meant looking for decorations and I stumbled across @murfeelee's Willam Morris Wall Hangings, which she created for Sims 3. I converted them for Sims 4 and they made a great addition to multiple rooms. The image above shows one decorating one of the dormitory stairwells off the Slytherin common room (the upper left corner shows off the potions classroom).

Although these all have a very medieval feel to them, they're actually Victorian! William Morris was a leader of the arts and crafts movement, which endeavored to move away from industrialization and mass-made clutter and to carefully selected pieces which showed individuality, craftsmanship, and taste. One of his most famous quotes, which is quite Marie Kondo in nature, is "Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful."

Setting Up Audre 2.6

Today we’ll take a look at the final building on the Franklin Market lot (originally Franklin Apartments), located on 3 Main Street in @one-plumbob‘s custom world Pleasant Isle. For visual reference, that’s the grey building to the left:

It’s in this section of the lot, that I built, what I’ve decided (decided as in as I’m writing this, lol) to call The Pet Stop, because it contains a pet store, pet grooming area, and a veterinary office. I mentioned in my post for The Nectar Shop & Formagore that The Pet Stop was actually set up before I worked on the Nectar shop. At the time, I remember feeling a combination of boredom and anxiety, and thought working on a shop I’d never attempted before would better feed my creative needs. It worked, although, do to the space, and my own limited abilities, there were some things I was unable to achieve with this store.

Here’s the front entrance:

If you recall, back in July, I put out a post requesting assistance with finding deco puppies and kittens. Those were for those little window box displays beneath the cat and dog signs. 

I have these memories from family movies I saw during my childhood of people taking their children to get a family dog or ending up with a new pet because the kid saw puppies through the display window and the parents couldn’t resist the child’s pleading. So when I saw how One-plumbob had set up their deco pet shop, I recalled those images from tv, and they inspired my reno.

As a quick aside I want to thank @murfeelee, @browniecap, and especially @omedapixel for helping me in my cc search for this reno, and the latter, for converting some objects for my personal use. 

Okay, now we move inside. Here’s a shot of the main shopping area from just beyond the entrance:

I don’t think I’ve ever used that fire hydrant (or any really) in any of my builds or renos until now. I’m pretty sure, it was the last thing I placed, either because I felt the spot right be the corridor was too bare, or because I came across it in buydebug and thought this would be a good opportunity to throw this in. In hindsight, I wish it was red, or red and white. I can’t remember if this hydrant can’t be recolored, or if red wasn’t an option among the others or if I went with blue and white on my own when setting this up. The point is, I am not happy with it now that I look at this image.

At this angle you can see where I’ve placed more deco animals. 

I came across those cages awhile ago. don’t remember where they came from, but as soon as I knew I was making a pet store I was excited to use them. I had to do some shrinking and placement fandangoing to get those dogs (and wolves, but pretend they’re dogs ok, lol) in there, but I think the end result is pretty nice.

If you haven’t guessed by now, I went on a pet download binge for this. I had a lot of  items already, went ahead and got the rest of the items in @aroundthesims​‘ pet store collection, and Omedapixel’s pet item set (I think those things are yours). I was also lucky that around the time I was finishing up @phoebejaysims​ had completed their Pet Bowl Requires Food mod. I’ve stashed the bags for that on that shelf (see the pic immediately following) to the far right with the kitty litter boxes beneath it.

You can kind of see the area where I’ve got toy boxes, and dishes set up as like my doggie section. I didn’t realize it until now that this little section as well as the one for cats (just beside the kitten and pup display), can’t really be seen well from any of my photos. Sorry about that.

Going back to when I mentioned that there were some things with this build that I was unable to accomplish. 

I didn’t have enough space to put in cages and terrarium’s for minor pets. As an alternative I tried to create a wall display of tanks as I’d downloaded a custom terrarium that has been removed from the base. Unfortunantely, I couldn’t figure out how to raise those tanks as they don’t work with OMSP, and I don’t have experience with some of the other tricks using cheats and other mods that allow one to raise objects. For now, I just have to be satisfied knowing minor pets can be purchased from the pet store register.

Speaking of which, here are the shots of the sales floor near and from behind the registers:

I might try to figure out how to use those build tricks later on, or expand the pet shop to include what I had to leave out in the future. Perhaps I’ll make a more specialized pet place, for minor pets and edit this for just cats and dogs.

So if the steps didn’t clue you in, this is a multistory shop. I’ll share the shots of the second floor next week!

GENERAL RECS: - nraas MasterController is needed to put multiple accessories in the same location and to add more face/body sliders to your game but it has a shitton of other useful features too. - OneEuroMutt various facial and body sliders, i have the alien/ body/ amputee sliders but the rest might also be of interest. (remember to get MasterController first) - aWT Eyelid and Pupil Sliders, yes there is functional sliders for sims pupils. note the mesh needed for the sliders to work will remove the EA eye shine on sims (and glow eyes on supernatural sims) - sims3genderswap is a collection of GNC/transgender/gender neutral clothing, makeup, and hair - also some dreamer shirts/dress submitted to simstuck by zootycoon for the sims playing sburb - links to some sims 3 cc reupload piles. some of the stuff here was picked frm these, but mostly its general sims 3 cc that lost their original download links. one | two

i do have more cc that should work for simstuck shit but i have merged a lot of my .packages or cant find the source download. i havent included any skins for this reason but i can try finding fantasy skins or human skns that have grayscale tones at some other point. i dont have a simsfileshare code but if i somehow get one then i might upload packages of stuff that i cant find online anymore

also if theres any other canon homestuck cc for sims 3 pls send it to me....... i think theres stuff like mitunas outfit somewhere out there but my searches for sims 3 homestuck cc get drowned out by the sims 4 stuff...... rip
