Self care is the foundation for everything. I know it sounds a bit w**ky but it really is. If we don’t take care of ourself what happens when our energy bank runs dry? Who’s going to do all those chores then? Who’s going to look after your kids when you can’t because your are burnt out? I talked about self care last night during the CHAOS masterclass. The c in chaos stands for calm and I translate that as my self care. While self care can be the little acts through the day it’s more than a bubble bath. It’s nutrition, movement, your environment and reducing stress. If you are overwhelmed with the amount you have to get done in your day, if you are broken from the clutter, the chaos this is causing stress to your body and mind. Self care is the first step to take. That first step could be a swim twice a a week and topping up your nutrition with supplements. In this new year I am using my newly regained freedom to make a diary. I am trying to use @estemacleod 's #coloricombo and that's about the only thing I do (and housework) . Before she starts nursery i would do a lot more, picking up a sport, find a job, volunteering, do a few courses but let's be realistic.
