Ch 17: Blind-sided Verse 3

As the group rode down the highway out of the city, Alice suddenly swerved and fell off Erzabet's bike. She was unconscious, and Rachelle quickly ran over to check on her.

"What's going on?" Erzabet asked, pulling her bike to a stop.

"Something's wrong with Alice," Rachelle said, "She's unconscious."

Erzabet hopped off her bike and walked over to see what was happening. "Let me take a look."

Rachelle carefully unwrapped the bandage on Alice's hand, revealing a deep cut. But as she inspected it more closely, she noticed something strange. The wound had been meticulously stitched and healed almost completely.

"This is more than just a cut," Rachelle said, "Someone's been performing surgical experiments on her."

Trace leaned in to look at the hand. "Looks more like a mountain cat's paw than a human hand."

Tailor furrowed their brow. "This is like something out of The Island of Doctor Moreau."

As they discussed what to do next, Alice began to stir, slowly waking up. The group quickly huddled around her, asking if she was okay and what had happened.

Alice looked up at them, her eyes wide with fear. "I just wanted to get out of the city," she said, "I didn't want to go back there."

The group exchanged worried glances. They knew they couldn't leave Alice alone, but they also knew they couldn't risk that one of the people they brought back to the survivors' camp was that doctor.

"We'll figure it out," Rachelle said, "We'll make sure you're safe."

With that, they continued down the highway, unsure of what their next move would be. But one thing was for sure, they couldn't let Alice fall back into the hands of whoever had been experimenting on her.

PINECLAN is under NEW MANAGEMENT 🪵🍃🐱⭐️🌾🌲

Generation after generation, leader after leader, Pineclan has remained untouched by the influence of outsider clans. Originally formed as a save haven from persecution, the cliff-dwelling mountaincats have formed an increasingly tight knight, high strung group- a feared one at that.

Olivepool had taken control of the community after the death of longtime leader Willowstar, a cat who had great plans for the clan. As the wilted willow lay dying, she whispered her plans into the ear of her young deputy, hoping they would settle deep into her mind and blossom in the future.

Olivestar had planned for greatness, but she hadn't planned for tragedy. A fire raged through the land only a pawful of moons ago, ending the lives of many. Now it is up to the young survivors to rebuild, as a new version of Pineclan is born from the ashes.

Follow Pineclan through their new journey of survival and circumstance!

three ships: the first one is super obvious, Han Joo Won and Lee Dong Sik (jwds, Beyond Evil), Tohru Honda and Kyo Sohma (Fruits Basket), and a recent one, Keeley Jones and Roy Kent (Ted Lasso)

first ever ship: I don't remember my first first, but I know the first ship I LOVED with my whole heart, causing me to write fics for was merthur (Merlin and Arthur, Merlin). I was OBSESSED with that show, and I still hold such a soft spot for them now (morgana did nothing wrong)

last movie: Glass Onion (2022)

currently reading: this is a trick question (for me) lol. I am the best at starting books, but do I finish them???? 👀 I have about twenty books on the go, sooooo... I'm going to pick Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, as I really enjoyed what I read of that book (when I was reading it) and I would like to finish it (especially as I'm currently writing a murder mystery)

currently watching: okay, I have just finished a binge watch of Ted Lasso and haven't decided what I'm going to be watching next. I'm liking the look of Somebody. I have Hotel Del Luna, The Fall, and The Devil Judge as my "to be continued" shows- I will finish them one day! And, of course, I'm always watching Beyond Evil in some capacity

currently consuming: errrrrr.... water and pink lemonade Lucozade

currently craving: structure and stability. This year has been. . . awful . . . in many ways for me, as a lot of not-very-nice things happened. So, I definitely want a new routine that will provide me with a happier/healthier lifestyle. lol that's soooo vague but I'm not about to start sharing my dirty laundry on main A lot of people I would tag already have been, so if you've if I tag you and you've already done this... idk... high-five yourself?? 😂
