I was always under the impression that the devine luck worked in a time based system instead of just starting to fade once Utsuro died, so like, the problem wasn't necessarily that he died more so that there was now no source to get more luck from?

The voids only met Utsuro once so their luck was slowly running out ever since, when they learned that he died they started to panic and made that mess of a plan. Utsuro's was infinite since he was the source and Akane's (prior to him passing the luck onto her) was pretty much infinite as well since she was always around him so it was like,, recharging or something idk it's been a while since i last went through Sdra2 properly

this makes sense! i wish the writing was clearer about it cuz of how integral it is to the story

i had a really horrific and elaborate backrooms ass nightmare last night about a place called "the mines" where people would go to fence with each other until the other disappeared the mines were a disgusting series of interconnected tunnels at the outskirts of town, dusty and brightly lit, the walls a bright pink. the floors were ripped off. above ground, it's peaceful and green with a road by the lake, as if it was like any other place in town. no one is supposed to be in the mines. the path to the mines is littered with fences, darkness, and dozens and dozens of doors, to be driven through rather than opened. after being taken by officers, we were put into processing while they tried to figure out why we were here and what we had picked up in there. with my family and cats in danger i wondered why anyone would ever go here in the first place. apparently those who came here had a device put in them that could decide their instant death. my classmate found out through a hole in the ground that even the higher ups of the mines were regularly killed, and decided we could not finish going through processing. i made it to "heaven", a lush green forest like from wii sports -- it was supposedly the last area before the exit. but having run out of time, i was forced to leave everything back in the mines, living out the rest of my days in heaven alone

answering this separately cuz its personal - thank you ! ;_; she lived for another month after her hind legs gave out in early october, she just passed away this morning. im not okay but we continue on. i miss her a lot
