i had a really horrific and elaborate backrooms ass nightmare last night about a place called "the mines" where people would go to fence with each other until the other disappeared
the mines were a disgusting series of interconnected tunnels at the outskirts of town, dusty and brightly lit, the walls a bright pink. the floors were ripped off. above ground, it's peaceful and green with a road by the lake, as if it was like any other place in town. no one is supposed to be in the mines. the path to the mines is littered with fences, darkness, and dozens and dozens of doors, to be driven through rather than opened.
after being taken by officers, we were put into processing while they tried to figure out why we were here and what we had picked up in there. with my family and cats in danger i wondered why anyone would ever go here in the first place. apparently those who came here had a device put in them that could decide their instant death.
my classmate found out through a hole in the ground that even the higher ups of the mines were regularly killed, and decided we could not finish going through processing. i made it to "heaven", a lush green forest like from wii sports -- it was supposedly the last area before the exit. but having run out of time, i was forced to leave everything back in the mines, living out the rest of my days in heaven alone

also not related to the ask meme but like. a prompt. would u say ur art ever inspires ur writing/vice versa + are there certain subjects u prefer to tackle w/writing that u aren’t as prone to drawing about? (<- we’ve chatted abt like. what’s inspired some of the things you’ve written, but!! ur answer to 20 got me thinking. also i’m wording the question really poorly so pls take it however u want i’m just thinking abt the connection between what u draw and what u write!!
OOMF GOT TO YOUR QUESTIONS HERE. but this means i have more space to talk at length abt ur prompt mwahaha
even though this is an art account, i still feel very much like a writer before an artist if that makes sense? i think it has to do with the basic barrier that there are things i can imagine, but can't draw because of technical limitation. in writing, i can convey anything, in ways that surprise me when i look back.
this has its own set of limitations, being a different format. but because i don't know it as well, i can be blind to my faults in it. :P
some time ago, i was reading an essay by an author named porpentine, and they said something along these lines that's stuck with me: when you have ptsd, everything you make is going to be about ptsd. obviously it depends person by person, but... yeah.
drawing is a way that i get by. i can't draw when i'm emotional, i'd need it finished and fast. writing is different because it's more like diving headfirst into the things that disease me
definitely not as inclined towards things seen as commonly triggering or taboo in drawing. ive been thinking abt doing a ellie nad visual novel in the summer. heres ellie for your time
